It's close to Train/ Bus station - 6 mins walk. Outer space of the hotel has good vibes, people having pints and lunch/dinner. Looks amazing on a sunny day.

Hotel gives free Breakfast (which is a catch) do not fall for it. It does have not a Buffet, order taken as per the menu. More dissapointing was that you need to come for breakast at a particular time given by the hotel, for us it was 7:30 am (did not look like we were on vacation). Stayed there for 3 days out of which 1 day they said they do not have fruits (how can 4 star hotel not have fruits to serve).

Excellent location

It's a nice hotel. A little dated. Food is nice also. Good atmosphere in the bar area. Breakfast is great, great choices.

I had stayed at the International in December, with 2 of my nieces and it was a nice stay. Unfortunately, it's gone down hill since then. I stayed in August, 2026 with my other niece and the room was SO small that it didn't comfortably fit out luggage. Additionally, the back of TV remote was missing so they just put tape over the batteries instead of replacing the whole remote - cheap! I found out from a local that there is new ownership and that is what I attribute the decline to; no longer family run. I will find a new hotel to stay at next time I'm in Killarney. On the positive side, the location is great and the staff were friendly.

Excellent location, old but well maintained clean property; restuarant provides very nice food; Cooked Breakfast was of exceptional quality.

Once again we've stayed at the International hotel and once again it has exceeded our expectations. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel special. Staff can't do enough for you and always pleasant and courteous. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the most wonderful experience at the International Hotel yesterday, celebrating the birthdays of my mum and mother-in-law. From the moment we walked through the door, the welcome was so warm and genuine. We didn’t even have a booking, but the team couldn’t have been more accommodating and made us feel so welcome. A special mention to the lovely Dara, who, when he heard it was the birthday girls’ special day, kindly brought them both a glass of champagne — such a thoughtful touch! 🥂 The food was absolutely stunning, and they were also treated to beautiful birthday plates. Catriona then very kindly came over, made a big fuss of the birthday girls and really went above and beyond to make the day feel special. It was those little touches that made such a difference. We’re local to Killarney and always recommend the International Hotel to anyone visiting, and yesterday was a perfect reminder of why. We don’t go all the time, but it’s such a lovely place for a special occasion or even just a nice lunch. We had such a fabulous day and genuinely felt so well looked after and special. A huge thank you to all the staff for making my mum and mother-in-law’s birthday lunch one to remember. ❤️ We’ll be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

International hotel always is a pleasant place to stay in Killarney with good food and pleasant staff .

The air conditioning was welcomed. The cocktails and service were impeccable. Parking was easily accessible in the public lot. We would skip breakfast next time. It wasn’t great and we could find something local for much better. Other than breakfast this hotel was fabulous.

We had a group of 9 rooms. Everyone was very happy with the hotel, staff, rooms, and food. Great location. Thank you to Ann Marie who helped me coordinate this stay.

I was put on the 3rd floor I explain that I had a knee issue. I asked if I could be moved. I stopped for 45 minutes to get my bag to my room thought the manager would reach out to me. No one did so now I’m on the third floor trapped because I can’t do the stairs up and down the elevator is out no one here seems to care.

Myself and my family went for a meal in Hannigans Bar. Our meals were beautiful, but what I really wanted to mention was how nice the staff were with my Dad who has Alzheimer’s and mobility issues. A big shout out to Tyler and Brendan who were so kind and helpful to him - nothing was too much for them. We had two young children with us too and Brendan was great with them. Thank you so much, we’ll be back again!

The staff on a recent hen party couldn’t do enough for us, so accommodating and friendly really made the experience. Clean rooms and lovely people at the front desk. We had dinner in Hannigans and it was gorgeous and an amazing selection

Every time I stay here it gets better and better the food the room and more importantly the staff were extremely friendly and helpful each member couldn’t do enough for my dad and I I’ll be booking my stay in Killarney in this hotel real soon

Lovely friendly staff throughout the hotel, breakfast was good but nothing special. We were on 3rd floor and had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs as the lift was broken for the whole time we were there. Would be nice to have a fridge in the room especially in an Executive room which is what we purchased, not sure extra money from the next grade down was worth it. No nice views from the small window, didn’t feel very Premium.

The International Hotel is perfect for a short stay in Killarney, particularly when travelling by train. It is a short walk from the station. Lovely room, great breakfast and really nice staff. Perfect!

This is a beautiful hotel and very clean. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. While one of our rooms was rather small, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue was there was no soundproofing from the outside. People were around the area talking and drinking until well past midnight. Then before 7 in the morning a cleaning crew was using loud blowers to clean up the debris. This happened both nights of our stay, so we weren’t able to sleep well.

The location was fabulous. Being in the middle of town so we could just walk to everything we wanted to do was perfect. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

When we went to try and eat dinner at the restaurant connected, we were unable to get a table. We asked the hostess and she really just seemed to brush us off. I think they were just really busy though so totally understand.

Breakfast was poor in comparison to previous visits. First room was next to a loud unit. Can’t understand why a hotel thinks it acceptable to offer such a room.

The International is a traditional must visit hotel. We had an issue with our room on the first but Erica (in house reception manager) was superb in sorting this for us. The staff & food was excellent. Service in the bar area could have been quicker at times as did wait a few times to be served. The food was very good with a great selection. The hotel location is excellent as only a short walk to all amenities. Definitely would return.

Myself and my friend stayed down for the Thursday night of the races. Hotel was 10/10 location and cleanliness was second to none. I had trouble zipping up my dress for the races and Mary and Deborah came to the rescue and got me going! We had some craic with them, lovely friendly girls!!

Your hotel was amazing!! Our groups of 6 were welcomed graciously. The location was very convenient to all the shops, pubs restaurants, carriage ride and whatever we needed.

Absolutely fantastic hotel with great location. Cleanliness was superb! We stayed in room 163 and had a dress malfunction but luckily Mary and Deborah came to the rescue and got us going to the races! Such lovely friendly welcoming ladies with great personalities!! Would 100% stay again for these ladies alone!

The manager that checked us in did a really good job of accommodating us just be sure to make sure that your room has air-conditioning. If that’s something that you desire. The location could not be any better for Killarney, very good Restaurant attached as well. All the staff was amazing and super helpful. We got so much assistance with our baggage that I was not expecting. Just know that you’ll have to park in a loading zone in front of or down the street from the hotel to unload your bags and then go park in one of the public car parks nearby. The best car park I can recommend is the GLEBE car park it’s free on Sundays and pretty cheap everyday.

Food and staff service was very good. Reception staff were so obliging storing luggage for us and the terrace out front is just fantastic serving excellent food all day! A great gathering spot! Well done I loved my stay in Killarney.

The staff must have a degree in being nice as everyone of them were fantastic in service and a smile. The international has something very special going on inside its doors and it’s something to be treasured when staying there well done to all the staff

No Air conditioner in room

We stayed at the International Hotel on our group bus tour with Trafalgar. Best hotel we stayed at the whole week! The room we had was spacious with larger beds (Ireland does not have king and queen beds as the standard like in USA, it's full size or twin beds in many hotels, at least on the bus tours), and a large bathroom. The room also had AC which is a luxury in Ireland, most hotels only give you fans, but at least the windows open unlike in USA. It was a bonus to have the pub on the first floor as well. The hotel is in a great location right on the main street where the pubs and shopping are located. I wish we could have stayed at this hotel all week as it was so comfortable!

A fabulous hotel. As a tour driver, I stay in many hotels of different quality. The international excels on so many levels. The room I stayed in was fabulous, as was the bathroom. No cheap toilet paper here! A bathroom fan that actually works! Breakfast is table service which I love. Having stayed for three nights, I varied my choices and they were super. Dinner was fabulous. Lamb shoulder, roast of the day or fish, all were superb. They make a tour group feel like they are the only group in the hotel which of course we weren't. That's a skill in itself. An awful lot comes down to well trained staff. Well done to the international hotel. Keep it up. The lack of Air conditioning in the room is the only minus and that's only because the weather is extremely good.

This hotel was in a great location. It was an older hotel. Friendly staff. The air conditioning didn’t work well. It would feel cool sometimes and than hot another times. I would not recommend for people with mobility issues. Many stairs and confusing hallways to get to the rooms. Had to take 2 lifts. I think next time I would stay at a more modern hotel. But this hotel was nice overall.

We have been staying at the International since 1984. We stayed recently for our 40th wedding anniversary. We were so well looked after, the staff are amazing the rooms are exquisite and the food 5 stars all round. It was a magical few days. Can I just mention Brendan in the dining room, definitely an employee of the month... thank you, each and every one of you for giving us a wonderful anniversary!

We had a wonderful stay at International Hotel Killarney. We loved that it was right downtown and within walking distance to all the fabulous sites. The food at the restaurant and drinks at the bar were all really great also! The only thing to note, there is no AC in the rooms, but they did provide fans to make it a bit more comfortable. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel on your next trip!

The location was perfect for local bars and restaurants, the hotel itself had a very nice restaurant and bar, there was plenty of nearby parking and the room itself was clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly and exceedingly helpful.

I can’t think of a single negative for this property.

Location was perfect...All staff were so polite, cheerful and so helpful..Breakfast was gorgeous with lots of choice..We only had one dinner in hotel, roast beef which was fab.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The location is perfect for access to restaurants and all the sights in this area. We appreciated help from the front desk for all our questions. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast at the hotel. Our room felt private and quiet. We appreciated the curtains that made the room dark (helpful for sleeping). Beds were comfortable. There is no onsite parking, but there are options nearby. We would stay here again.

The best service we have ever experienced, at a table for seven people for dinner tonight. Brendan was just brilliant, along with all other staff we encountered. Meals and drinks were brought out promptly, and the table service was outstanding. All of the meals were very good. Highly recommended.
