Excellent breakfast and truly exceptional dinner menu and dinners. A real treat. Rooms were comfortable with good functional showers, comfortable beds and tea/coffee facilities. The car park was close to the entrance and it was sited in beautiful gardens in a really quiet location but only about 12 minutes from Telford International Centre.
Nothing. It was a delightful stay.
Parking at hotel. Lovely Surroundings and great walk to Ironbridge and village.
Breakfast was limited but ok
All excellent
Nothing
The location was absolutely perfect for us. The breakfast was really good. Everything presented exceptionally well. Plenty of choice and all hot food, hot
Value, friendliness, cleanliness
Nothing
Beautiful location and grounds. Comfortable furniture and exceptional decor.
No shaving charger so I couldn't charge my toothbrush.
Very welcoming hotel in excellent location. Lovely park and River Severn on your doorstep.
The room was very warm with only small opening window.
Everything very welcoming brilliant location and room was amazing thank you wil be coming back again
Nothing to comment on
Warm welcome, friendly staff. Excellent food and service, clean room comfy bed close to all museums. Plenty of parking.

The service was excellent. Food was very good. Excellent location
Lift was a little strange
Really welcoming staff, free room upgrade, very well located and the dining room was excellent.
Nothing actually.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very comfortable. The breakfast was good, particularly the cooked breakfast! We enjoyed the meal we had in the restaurant, too.
Nothing, it was all good!
After a weeks road trip this was the last place we stayed and like in Goldilocks and the Three Bears we felt it was ' just right', our favourite accommodation and the best value for money. From the warm welcome by the lady on reception to the comfy room and delicious breakfast. This hotel thinks about the personal touch and the little things that seem to be missing these days from more expensive places. Breakfast ingredients e.g. big butchers sausages, 'real' mushrooms, nicely cooked eggs, great coffee to the helpful visitors book in the room. Staff friendly and interested. Match this with a lovely historic house in a great location near iron bridge and you have ; for us, the perfect place to stay. Thank you!
Nothing at all. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Very good selection for breakfast; staff excellent, helpful and welcoming; great location for wandering into or around Ironbridge
Slightly creaky floorboards above (maybe unavoidable in an old building)
Large carpark, beautiful hotel, clean, helpful staff, good breakfast
Nothing, all good
Lovely place to visit and the hotel had a beautiful park behind.
The price being put up (£50) because it was a weekend visit. No lift at the hotel and we were on the top floor and the noise from some sort of fan outside our window was very loud all the time.
Location was good . Breakfast was good about a 7 out of 10.. staff were very lovely and friendly . Parking available
Queue at checkin wasnt great when you are tired but the receptionist was speedy We didnt think about wedding parties being there . This wasnt an issue as such but when chairs are pulled across carpark and people all around the reception doorway and smoking close to entrance this isnt good . Carpark was full but we did get a space . Room was small . Wardrobe wobbly. Bathroom could have been cleaner around waste overflow and the woodwork on door
Great value - clean room, friendly staff, well located, and nice breakfast.
The place is really nice. Near the river and forest. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was poor.
The breakfast should be improved. For breakfast you can chose: beans, planted eggs, sausage and bacon's. No vegetables, no other type of food like cheese, or sausages.
Well organised and the staff were all exceptional
Nothing
Excellent breakfast. Perfect location. Room was a little small, could do with a couple more bottles of water in room, especially during the summer.
Slow service in bar area, no-one serving many times. Especially waiting to go to dinner.
the breakfasts were fine. There could perhaps have been a little more choice. e.g hot dishes were the same every day.
nothing really.
Location was perfect for a wedding nearby and for nice walks
Bed was uncomfortable, room was warm, shower didn’t drain so stood in a puddle of water.
Amazing Staff very clean rooms and beautiful breakfast good value for money
Location, reception and hallways very regal and traditional/quaint, shower was good and complimentary Harrogate water
Bed was lumpy, pillows worn out, very hot poor ventilation
The property was lovely. The staff were incredible and all so helpful.
The only negative I could say was our room was so hot. Like heating was on but wasn’t. That’s the only downside I could say, everything else was excellent.
Great location - good sized room
Stuffy as only one window opened a touch - mattress not great
Rural situation, older property with pretty garden.Clean room and bathroom.Fan supplied in room....very important in current weather.Food was well presented....not outstanding but satisfactory
No lift!.I wrestled with the shower which did work once I understood it
Everything
Location could not be better for Ironbridge shops and cafes, pubs and walks along the river, we saw a kingfisher! , views over the parklands, river and gorge and you can walk to the bridge, toll museum, and Tile museum (although Tile museum closed at the moment whilst the Trust transfers to the National Trust). Spotlessly clean. Friendly helpful professional staff throughout. Executive twin room super clean and bed very comfortable, we slept well, nice biscuits etc, and toiletries in spacious bathroom. Lovely setting for the bar to walk out onto, and sit on the terrace.Welcoming Reception area, lots of comfy seating with nice views to park etc. Lovely granary bread/toast and sausages and bacon at breakfast. Very good cheerful service from all staff which was lovely. We could leave our luggage in reception on the last day whilst we went into town for a last mooch before getting taxi to Telford Central train station.
I felt £150 a night for our room was quite expensive. There are cheaper rooms and we went at the height of summer on a weekend. The fried eggs at breakfast were a bit cold and rubbery.
La gentilezza del personale e la posizione
La mancanza dell’aria condizionata in camera
good location, food very good and service excellent
being woken at 05.30 by people setting up wedding chairs right under our room. seemed unnecessary at this time in the morning and below the only window which would ope in an executive room.
The reception staff were exceptionally helpful to our needs at check-in, going above and beyond. Lovely period buildings sympathetically repurposed into the hotel.
There was nothing that we didn't like
It was very good. It was in beautiful grounds in a good location.
Can’t think of anything
Great hotel. The building has some history so quirky and interesting. The bedroom was great. We had an exec twin. Beds were very comfortable and room spacious. The staff could not do enough and were super friendly. The evening menu was a great choice with the food of an excellent standard and cooked to order. It has a lovely small garden seating area which was quiet after 9pm.so no disturbance as we had a room.above it. The back of the building has a beautiful view and has access to a lovely walk along the river.and also a short walk to the Ironbridge. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Can't recommend enough. Plenty of parking.
Nothing really.
Lovely location, great view from my room, quiet
Great location and very good restaurant
Shower was dreadful
Sehr gute und schöne Lage. Ausgezeichnete Küche für Breakfast und Abendessen.
The location the peace full surrounds good food and clean I
Nothing x
Very good breakfast with good selection. Very good evening meal Friendly staff
Beautiful and garden was perfection
Loved everything
Really clean and comfortable room.. The public areas were also really well looked after. Every member of the hotel team I came into contact with were really friendly and helpful.. Brilliant location
No air con so the room was a little stuffy - there was a window to open so not terrible..
Breakfast was good; cooked breakfast was very good, could have been greater selection for the continental breakfast. Staff were great
Room very nice and a good size ... Location is excellent !!!! Didn't get up in time for breakfast ...
For us it was all ok
Very good breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere in an airy room ( it was a heatwave) and Julie looked after us beautifully. We had to change bedroom due to the heat and it was done swiftly. ALL reception staff were excellent.
Can't fault it.
Staff were amazing, dinner excellent and all great value
All good
I am planning to visit this Hotel in September. I spoke to Mel at the Hotel to sort out some details of our stay. She was excellent - very helpful indeed!

Bedrooms that windows would not fully open. Rooms with air conditioning did not windows
Location and beautiful building
Heat! Soo hot but the kind staff changed our room late at night
The location was excellent, so handy for Ironbrige generally and all its attractions and a beautiful walk outside in the park down to the river.
I was concerned about the bannister rail at the top of the long flight of stairs to the very top floor. The banister started too late at the top for easy access to your hand to start down the stairs so you had to lean forward to grab it….. not good for an elderly or slightly unsteady person. We were given bottled water on our first night with the coffees and teas but not replaced again. I suppose the tap cold water was ok to drink but not usually acceptable. Otherwise everything was very good .
Location excellent. Having stayed at several Best Westerns, breakfast was only ok, staff excellent
Room VERY hot and on the small side, there was a fan provided which had to be on all night, no lift, but help to carry cases was offered
Absolutely beautiful location by the side of river in a wooded gorge.
Car charging could be a bit better organised, but we did manage
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Relaxing, chilled and very friendly staff. Food exceptional and our twin bed room with a balcony was perfect in this heat.
Assistance with bags going up 2 flights of steps was a godsend.
The room had a beautiful view and was lovely but it was so hot. Only 1 window could be opened, we did have two fans which was good. I think the window should have been opened well before our arrival.
Comfortable room, and bed. Clean, spacious bathroom. Breakfast was good, full English or whatever you chose. Beautiful grounds and a nice walk along the river. Near to the Iron Bridge for touristy photos.
Steep steps for entry but there was a flat entrance further round the building, which I didn't see at first. Everything else was fine and no complaints.
Locality.
Nothing
Staff were helpful, and location was great.
The outside tables needed to be cleared more frequently. The day of the wedding we had to ask for the tables to be cleared. Pillows were lumpy.
Position of hotel
Breakfast was good with a choice of options. The room was actually a lovey room but we arrived on the day the record high for a June day was broken and our room was showing 31.5 degrees and the heat was oppressive. We asked for a cooler room but unfortunately none were available on our first day but we did get a replacement room with a balcony on our second day.
The room was too hot so we could not sleep. The window would only open a few inches so there was very little fresh air. Fortunately there was the World Cup on TV which I watched till after 3 in the morning but got very little sleep due to the heat which stayed above 30 degrees all night. I realise the exceptional weather was not the hotel's fault and there were 3 fans that helped a little but a proper air condition fan would have made it much more comfortable.
Location
It was tired
Very good
Very friendly, wonderful situation
Nothing
Nice period hotel in a good location close to Ironbridge with plenty of free parking. Good breakfast, nice staff BUT WAY TOO HOT IN OUR (ATTIC?) ROOM! Exceptionally warm day I'll admit, but if the window won't open far due to a child lock and the room's well over 30 degrees all night it ruins the experience...and I'd say the room shouldn't actually have been hired out, especially without offering a discount when we explained the morning after. (Got the impression that the member of staff wasn't entirely surprised). Otherwise clean and friendly, no noise to speak of etc etc...it was just the unbearable heat that spoiled it, so if you're looking at staying in the summer you might be disappointed. The problem could have been easily rectified with a small airconditioner so let's hope they invest in one.
The location in Ironbridge close to the river Severn
Very good location fronting on to the River and riverside walk. Parking is quite restricted in the area so great to have guaranteed parking in the hotel grounds.
Room was good and breakfast and dinner also very good. All the staff were very helpful and very nice.
Nothing to add
The location of this hotel is perfect for visiting Ironbridge. The atmosphere is very friendly and the room very clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 1 with a lobby way to the bathroom that was completely private. The room was one flight of stairs up. The staff were very pleasant. The restaurant had a good selection of dishes that were served well and delicious. The breakfast was self service but the cooked breakfast was good quality and plentiful and tasty. There was a wedding on the Saturday night but it did not impede our stay at all and and the room was exceptionally quiet. The surrounding gardens and walk along the river was a delight. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Staff very pleasant
Evening meal just excellent- but all over super couple of days- Staff polit and very helpful 10 / 10 all round Easy to find as well and lots parking- gardens delightful
Traditional country house hotel
Very comfortable bed, nice location.
Whilst I understand that staff are sometimes under pressure and especially when there is a wedding and a private dining function on other guests need to be treated equally. I felt the service we received was poor, the room was not really up to standard for the cost in regards to the tv not working, marks on towels and the toilet on arrival. I paid £200 for the night and at check out was told we owed £14 for drinks which I explained was incorrect as everything was paid by debit card at the time of purchase as I prefer not to charge to the room. I feel the receptionist was very judgemental, maybe because I was wearing a baseball cap and had a poor attitude. Why would someone who’s pays £200 a night for a room try and cheat somewhere out of £14 for a couple of drinks just doesn’t make sense, they had debit card details on arrival for anything charged to the room, so please feel to charge me and I will pay for your dishonest guests drinks. I’m more than happy to be the better person but perhaps you should ask the staff to do more stringent checks on what is being charged to what room and by whom.
Great hotel in an amazing location in beautiful Ironbridge. The breakfast was very good too.
The room was very hot with quite a thick duvet, but the weather was above normal temperatures.
Staff, food and location all excellent
It was a hot few days, their is no AC and it made nights too hot as a fan is provided, however there are lots of noisy fans on the site making sleeping difficult with the window open if noise distrurbs you.
Hearty but standard
Outdated bathroom. Bath very deep so difficult to climb into. Shower head cheap plastic. Wash basin had separate hot and cold taps and no mixer - 30 years out of date. Bedroom was larger than expected good but the decor was bland and boring. The bed was large but the mattress very hard.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff outstanding. Very pleasant surroundings. Large car park. Lovely restaurant.
Very steep stairs to rooms. Pelmets need readjusting carpet pulled up. Small attention to detail required.
Not a lot old need of update staff friendly
Room had bathroom up another flight stairs we as pensioners also struggled as we were on top floor no lift breakfast poor
Nice Venue
Very noise till 11.30 at night due to a wedding and children running up and down stairs with music playing on their phones.
Such a pleasant nice place to stay! Lovely friendly helpful staff ☺️
Lovely setting by the river and a good spacious car park. An excellent location which is just a short walk into town and the Ironbridge. There is good choice of meals on the menu and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Clean well maintained hotel. Polite, friendly helpful staff. Brilliant location
Our bedroom was a bit warm so had to use the supplied fan all night.
Beautiful location. Helpful and friendly staff
Limited choice for dining options
Food was excellent, staff friendly and very professional.
Great location and excellent service, food was really tasty.
Nothing.
Well located hotel, good parking and situated in very pleasant gardens. Upstairs bedroom basic although adequate for the price ( very hot and hotel fan a must). Restaurant and lounge area spacious and comfortable and all staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the restaurant staff on both nights of our stay were somewhat over zealous which tended to spoil the experience (asked what we wanted to eat/drink within seconds of being shown a menu and plates whisked away before you had stopped eating. Felt a bit of an inconvenience.
Stayed there many times and never been disappointed! Excellent location, great parking, friendly helpful staff and lovely food!
There is nothing not to like about this place!
The staff were all very pleasant and professional.
We weren't actually there when an event was taking place but it looked like a hot buffet reception/party was going to take place in the hallway en route to the upstairs rooms and some rooms were located off the actual hallway, although these may have belonged to the party guests so it might matter less.
Location and great staff
All good, loved it!
Poor choice of quality wine
Nice evening meal in restaurantstandard
Standard room on small side2
A few years ago we stayed here by chance only to discover the 1940's event was happening. There was also a wedding while we were there. We had such a great time. So we booked last year for this weekend, we were so looking forward to our return visit. Unfortunately, selfish wedding guest chatting loudly outside our rooms all evening, children running up and down our corridor. Girls shrieking for no reason. I have had very little sleep. I won't be returning.
We used the facilities whist staying on their grounds and found that this was a great hotel and the staff were so welcoming.
breakfast excellent. Location could not be better.
Room was fine but a little on the small side and ours was up more than one set of stairs and along several narrow corridors so there was a slight claustrophobic feeling. I am sure more spacious rooms would have been available had we booked earlier. There were a number of weddings taking place whilst we were there which meant some areas were effectively off limits
The hotel is stylish with beautiful gardens and a quick 15 min walk into Ironbridge Gorge. Extremely clean and comfortable room (superior room 17 overlooking gardens). Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had lots of choice, was well presented and well cooked. We also had an evening meal which was delicious and once again the staff were brilliant. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Food and staff were excellent
Room was on top floor ..no lift....... We are both in our 70.s and struggle with luggage and stairs. Did phone hotel when I booked with booking .com to query accessabbility to room... was told no problem.....
Good service from all the staff.
Nothing really.
The location of the hotel was excellent, just a couple of minutes walk to the centre of Ironbridge. The hotel has plenty of free parking. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. All of the staff were really attentive.
Bedroom was a little bit tired and dated but comfortable.
Great location, spacious rooms and the staff were very friendly & helpful.
