Śniadanie bardzo dobre.
Charming small and full of character
Lovely old pub in a great location. Lots to see around the town.
Nothing much to report
Lovely staff. Good food nice bar in both this and sister pub
Stairs were a bit steep for me. But would still go back xxx
Room 5 was absolutely beautiful and historically significant. There was a slight issue with the first room i was assigned, and the very lovely host very kindly moved me to room 5.
The location in Ironbridge is excellent with free parking. The food menu for lunch and evening is varied and excellent for vegetarians. Quality of food was 1st class. However they don't provide breakfast, so you need to walk to the Malthouse pub 50 metres down the road.
The room was tired and more basic than I expected. Quality of the mattress poor. I could feel the individual springs. There was moss growing on the Window outside.
The location
Room service somewhat unpredictable eg having to ask for clean towels and tea, coffee and sugar.
Dated but comfortable room, staff were friendly and helpful.
No hair drier, breakfast was 2 doors up the road.
Great location, fab breakfast
Little bit noisy but fine for one night
Excellent value for money. Room had everything required for the price point. Comfortable. Excellent location for short loop walk over Ironbridge. Staff were very informative and welcoming. Very good breakfast which was served in sister pub nearby.
Parking is tight, but not a massive issue.
Tatty
The staff were friendly. The location was great. It had parking.
The room should be condemned. It was dark, it needed completely refurbishing. The lamps were 'heritage' bulbs wrapped around a block of wood. There was an attempt to make the room look industrial and vintage but it was old and worn out. The glass floor looking into a hole was a strange feature in the bedroom. The bathroom was disgusting. It had an ancient bath with black holes where it was once a jacuzzi tub i imagine. The tiles were circa 1970 with mouldy grout. The hallway and landing was threadbare and the fire door banged shut every time you went through it. The 'hotel' entrance and exit went past a scruffy courtyard and the kitchen. The smell from the huge extractor fan permeated the hallway and car park. Breakfast was served in another pub down the road. Thankfully we were only there for one night, if we had booked more we would have been moving,
Staff member who welcomed me was friendly Shower was hot and powerful Bed linen and towels fresh Toiletries provided Very cheap (but not worth the savings with the downsides sadly)
Noisy until 2330 Car Park tight/small Access stairs to rooms dirty and damaged carpets Used soaps left on top of Shower from previous occupant Mattress so ridiculously in need to replacement could feel and see all springs with hand let alone lying on it Kettle had water from last occupant in Breakfast was served several doors down at another pub- I didnt go there so cant comment on offer, although was told it was cereal and juice from the bar
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and choice of drinks.
The location and view from the room
The creaky floorboards and bed

Quirky old building with character. Parking. Good breakfast with pleasant staff for a change
Security not too good . Yard gate and rear door not locked at night so anyone can get in the building
Very central accommodation for all things Ironbridge Gorge. The staff were extremely helpful (especially Darryl who was very generous at mealtime) and the breakfast was very good. The smart TV was a nice bonus. Very good value for a family of four during a bank holiday weekend.
The accommodation section of the pub is becoming a bit faded with fading walls and kicked in carpets. The bathroom was really tatty (and without a shower) and - like the rest of the 'hotel' could really do with some TLC
The room was lovely.u had to go to the pub 3 doors down for breakfast mont house. It was amazing the food was large and u had a choice of the menu.well done 👩🍳 and the waiting on staff. The swan tap evening food was amazing well done 👨🍳 burgers and the sunday dinner was f.... amazing.well worth it.waiting on staff were lovely.music in both pubs.well done team.
Location very good
Rooms ready for refresh
Great location, free on-site parking, friendly staff, spacious room, good breakfast.
No lift, steep stairs and some low ceilings - Worth noting for the elderly and less able.
Location,freindly staff and good food.
Room decor is dated and looks tired.
Clean, comfy room. Staff were great. Good breakfast provided. Great price. Bed was lush, with decent facilities. Couldn't fault the staff member that checked me in very friendly and informative.
Timings online for food served and bar opening times weren't accurate. Seems to be a thing with hotels in quieter locations. Dinner was supposed to be served until 9.30 but was in fact 8.30 as a last minute decision. Bar was supposed to be open until 11 but was starting to close about 10. Just makes planning a bit difficult if, like me, you are someone who prefers eating late and enjoys a few beers before bed.
limited but good breakfast taken in sister hotel meal we had in bar was also good.
beds not so comfortable and no slip mat in bathroom for shower
Breakfast was amazing
Comfortable bedroom and excellent breakfast. Good value
The bathroom. It was very ‘tired’ and in need of attention, ie redecorating. There was a shower but no shower curtain so we did not use the bath as we did not want to sit in it.
Buen sitio.
La ducha no tiene donde engancharse…es una bañera!!
The setting for the Swan couldn't be better, both rooms were excellent, (we booked another night) food was great, although we only ate light because of the extreme weather (heat). The staff were faultless, especially the lad in the bar area, well everywhere to be fair, definitely an asset to the business, hard working with a great personality and sense of humor. We'll definitely be returning.
We had to come home 😔
Location was perfect. Parking, very friendly staff.
Rooms could be cleaner. Toilet seat lose no shower curtain no point of contact to hang shower head.
Helpful friendly staff ideal location
Ideal location near a long stay car park
The location was great, the room was spacious and the breakfast was good.
The bed really freaked and one of the bolts was missing on it. The toilet didn't flush properly and it was quite noisy at night with banging doors and very loud traffic.
Great location, friendly staff and comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. My only problem would be the hand held shower in the bathroom. At my age it’s not ideal.
Hand held shower in the bathroom.
The history and interest in thebuilding and location.
The bathrooms needed upgrading the bath showers were below expectations and showering almost not a practical option.
The front of house staff were lovely, the food was good we had afternoon tea, breakfast was served at the Malthouse equally good.
The property requires a major overhaul, it’s a shame it’s a lovely location.
Lovely location by the river in Ironbridge only a few minutes walk fro the centre of the village.
River view rooms can be noisy with people sitting outside and traffic. Car park is very small and fills up quickly. Narrow staircase to rooms. If you have mobility issues then this is not the place for you.
Location was very good
It is in need of some cleaning and a bit of maintenance
The swan taphouse was on the main street overlooking the river. The staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfy.
Very quaint, lovely location, nice room with quality furnishings, helpful staff.
I ordered Fish and Chips, out of the on site kitchen, the chips were lovely, the fish and the accompanying Tartare sauce sadly were'nt to the same standard as the chips, fish tasted disgusting, sauce like no other tartare sauce I've ever tasted, in a bad way, would I stay again?, yes!!, just wouldnt order the Fish...
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Swan Taphouse. Lovely quaint hotel with beautiful history and architecture. Excellent location. Good size room, with built in ensuite. The food was delicious. I will definitely plan to return.
The breakfast they don't serve in house. That did not matter to me personally.
Everything was spot on very helpful staff and excellent food

Hyggeligt sted
Madrassen kunne godt trænge til fornyelse.
Great location and clean comfortable room
Location and staff
The bed appeared to be a camp bed type type, I could feel every spring, if indeed that's what they were. Very uncomfortable. The sink was cracked and generally the decore was tired. Breakfast was not available in the Swan.
Good location. Nice food - though wait time very long. Manager good - other staff member possibly new/training(?) was friendly and polite but not experienced. Accommodation possibly overstepped mark between quirky and not quite up to standard. Stairs carpet thread bare in places. Bathroom v small with too low ceiling for shower but bath not clean enough condition (black mildew) to want to sit in it. Had to have self hold shower and duck down - no shower curtain or screen so floor got soaked! Light above mirror not securely fitted to wall and didn’t work. The glass floor over the old furnaces took a bit of getting used to but we do love quirky. The roof light has no blind so awoken early by daylight. Nice quiet nights sleep. Had to go to sister inn for breakfast. Coffee mugs & juice glasses not clean. Poor selection of cereals. No OJ. Cooked Breakfast very good. Overall good value for money but a little maintenance and clean up of bathrooms needed.
See above
Breakfast was good and a nice location
Cleanliness in the bathroom. The jets in Bath were filthy put me off using it. And prefer a shower head which you can attached to the wall also there was no shower curtain. Also there was no toilet brush. I know it's an old property but everything looked tired. Also there was no toilet brush
Prachtige omgeving en ambiance. Zeker een aanrader om een nacht te verblijven
In badkuip douche
Excellent property, brilliant helpful friendly staff. Outstanding area, scenery, things to do and see everywhere.
Nothing
A lovely room and location for a very competitive price. It was a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay again due to location and the excellent accommodation.
The geez behind the bar didn't tell me I needed to go to the Malthouse to get a breakfast. I only found out as I was fortunate to bump into other guests! It was a top English though! Earlier in the evening, there were no bar staff for a while due to other guests checking in at the Taphouse - yes, these things happen, however a bit more planning by management would help. The place was shut up early last night without last orders being called. I knocked on the door & I was begrudgingly able to get a drink to take up to my room. Fundamentally, the guy behind the bar doesn't give flying f**k & wants to knock off early - I get that, nevertheless, it's a hospitality industry with protocols 🤷
Great location, lovely little old pub. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was in the sister pub and was delicious.
The room was very hot could have done with the windows being open prior to arrival and maybe a fan. Other than that no complaints
Staff unlocking the door and walking in on me without knocking. Kitchen staff swearing and shouting at each other under my window. Slamming doors.
The location was fabulous. Close to the bridge and the river. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good, and the breakfast at the neighbouring pub was good. Nice little place to stay. The room was a good size, the bathroom looked old and there was no shower, just a handheld one. The free toiletries were a nice touch.
It's an old building but it looks a bit run down. The rooms whilst comfortable but dated. Our room was at the front overlooking the river however it also overlooks the outside seating area. As there are no fans and no air con (we travelled in a heatwave) we had to sleep with the window open, which is not ideal, when people are talking, screaming and a member of staff talking to his Mrs on hands free at 1am about playing video games and then moving the outside furniture around,
Very good and Helpful staff. Met some interesting people.
The room was very small. Not clean I saw a bed bug on final morning. More problems with TV but sorted. Cleaning needs more work.
Staff great, location amazing
The heat! Not something that the staff could address though.
Picturesque place. Featured property that is dinky and clean. Comfy bed.
Excellent location.
Room adequate & comfortable but, for instance, no hooks or rails to hang damp towels after bathing.
Location, close to family and the 'Bridge '. Staff were very helpful, but run off their feet as only 2 on. The room (5) was overly quirky, with a glass floor over an old lime kiln. The price of breakfast, quality meats.
Shower was an old pipe over the taps, which were not easy to operate. The bath tub water jets were dirty, the cobwebs were dusty. The bed was old and tired, metal framed and squeaked. Menu choice , burgers or hotdogs mainly with fish and chips (my choice) .not much for veggies (my wife) halloumi burger really only one. Breakfast was served at the Malthouse a very short walk away, the mugs were stained with tea and the orange juice seemed watered down. Again lovely staff but only one young lady rushed off her feet.
Super view, Great Location, Value for money and Good breakfast
I love Swan and have stayed, eaten and had drinks there for many years.
The staffing of the bar was a mess and disorganised. Last orders called before 10pm and didn't inform those outside. The room was awful. Dreadful decor, broken things everywhere, a broken headboard banging against the wall attempting to mask there was no real bed, a fold out bed with an incredibly cheap and uncomfortable mattress. Bed linen was the starchy white stuff you get in a YHA... which is fine, in a YHA, NOT in a "reputable" guesthouse that is part of a successful local chain.
Location is good and the staff very friendly
Stair carpet is grubby and needs replacing
I liked how close to the event I attended the hotel was
That there was no shower as bath took to long to run
Character and privacy. Where do you stay with a glass floor in your bedroom? Absolutely love the lighting in the rooms.
Bathroom in urgent need of upgrade.
Breakfast was excellent
Lovely quaint pub in an amazing location
The shower is hand held above the bath. Really awkward to shower
Execellant breakfast.
Was a nice property in a good location
Felt a bit run down, needed money spending on it
Location, staff, historic building
Amenities starting to age, bathroom bed etc, TV stuck on one channel,
Fantastic location and wonderful staff. Clean and great breakfast. 😊
The price!! I've not paid £50 for a hotel room since 1996! Staff were really really nice - welcoming and friendly. Fantastic location for the Iron bridge and town. It was cheap!
Tired rooms, tiny shower, average bed, cracked sink, ageing decor, broken handle on the toilet flush. Room 1 is really noisy as it backs onto the kitchen and i had hours of chart music blasting throughout the day - don't stay in Room 1. Guy started singing at 9am on Sunday morning. There isn't actually guaranteed free parking as it depends on whether the bar patrons fill the car park. But it was cheap and exactly what I expected..
Staff and food
A bit dusty
Best bit was the staff. He worked incredibly hard, always seemed to be multitasking. Great welcome, food at pub was excellent, location was great - right opposite the gorge museum on main road. Breakfast was at another venue, two doors away, that was nice.
Bed was quite uncomfortable and very squeaky. There was a glass floor overlooking the old malt drying kilns, my wife did not like that at all. However, price was good, and we were only staying for one night
The view over river was stunning
No hot water and poor lighting on the stairs
Låg vackert invid floden
Det fanns bara en liten pall att sitta på, saknade stolar i detta relativt stora rum
The location was fantastic and the bar downstairs was great.
The room was very tired. The main light didn’t work, the bed had crumbs in and the bathroom wasn’t at a good standard. Musty smell throughout the corridor and room. Didn’t sleep all night as the bed was so uncomfortable. Staff were not particularly helpful.
The window in our room was broken so could not be shut! It was quite cold and had no heating! Its a beautiful old building but needs serious renovation. The bath water was also luke warm
It was cheap
The pillows were lumpy you could feel the bed springs it was very noisy room was scruffy and old toilet wouldn't flush properly shower was grubby
Lovely old building in a stunning location.
The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom was falling to bits. The lock on our room broke and we couldn’t get back in and had to wait nearly three hours to get our stuff out of the room to check out. We asked for a fan and were told they don’t have any. I have worked in hotels and guest houses myself and this is a standard item that should be available for guests. I can’t fault the staff onsite; they were wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. I understand the need to balance the cost of upgrades in this economy but it seems obvious the place is skimping on maintenance. The outside area of the pub needs a gardener to sort it out, it’s all overgrown at the back!
Situated ideally to visit Ironbridge, close to the park and lots of walks. Very old building with lots of history and very comfy beds. Handy free parking and the meal we had there in the evening was great, with helpful staff. Breakfast was in the building nextdoor but one and that was good with lots of choice and a friendly waitress.
Great location with car parking. Quiet at night. Great price, including nice breakfast. Spacious room. Nice staff. Some servicing of room each day.
Would have paid a little more for bit more servicing of room (quick vacuum and wipe of bathroom). Stair leading to rooms is depressing - needs better lighting and definitely new carpet! Yard that accesses car park needs cleaning up. Pub is meat-orientated so maybe not ideal for vegetarians but atmosphere fine.
The host was nice and we had a nice meal in the evening. Location was great.
The staircarpet up to our room had holes in and was very old and dirty with an unpleasant odour. Our room was in great need of some TLC. Bedding and towels were clean enough but the windows and frames were in need of some work and the bathroom definitely needed upgrading. The floor covering was not flat and the bath panel was in a sorry state. If we hadn't have only going to be there for less than 24 hours, we wouldn't have stayed . I was very disappointed as this was for my husbands special birthday. I know we didn't pay a fortune for the room but we have stayed in a lot better for the same amount of money or less. Also it stated "included breakfast," which it did, but didn't state that you had to go to another hotel 2 doors down to get it. Wasn't a problem for us, but might be for some people. We we're glad the weather was fine though and have to say, the breakfast and staff at the Malthouse were lovely.....wish we'd stayed there!.Definitely wouldn't stay there again.
Lovely setting, great location. charming building. Parking space was a bonus. Great value including a cooked or other breakfast plenty of good options.
lovely stay we will be back
Lovely place, stayed here before. Great location and entertainment.
Nothing too bad but bathroom could do with a little updating but it served a purpose. On the plus side it's great to get a room with a bath instead of a shower. 😁
Staff were welcoming. Food good. Room clean, nice fresh linen & towels
Nothing. I got what I paid for
The Room was very Comfortable and clean very nice Room The Bar Manager was very friendly and professional 5 star give the man a Pay Rise for dealing with everything on his own
Staff were really nice and helpful food was very good bar and restaurant were very nice the location was excellent and it was great value for money
We had room 5 which was very nice but the bathroom let it down it needs a lot of work to it mirror broke and hanging by one screw holding it up shaver light didn’t work toilet seat was loose grout needs redoing cracked and broke tiles and needs repainting throughout
Location in The Gorge
Shower in room 8 had no bracket to hold shower. No shower screen or curtain, to prevent water on floor.
The location, by the Severn, was lovely - our room overlooked the river. The Museum of the Gorge (closed at the moment but reopening later in the summer) was across the road . The iron bridge just a few minutes away and Coalbrookdale is only a short drive or 30 minutes walk from The Swan. The en-suite room was spacious, if dated, but it was very clean with fresh linen and towels, and tea and coffee etc were provided. The staff were great - busy just after the bank holiday weekend - and very helpful. Free parking was a bonus. Good beer and OK food - breakfast is a couple of doors away at the Malthouse, which seems to be run by the same company.
The bed rooms are dated, including the en-suite, but will be considered retro in a few years…. We liked the decor in the pub - particularly the coracle on the wall.
What a fantastic stay. Staff very friendly and informative. Room was perfect, parking onsite, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. We can't wait to come back here.
Luckily I travel with my own fan, the weather was scorching, making the room very hot. But we had a comfortable night's sleep thanks to my fan.
Location
Room was rather warm being in the attic of the building
Good location. Lovely place to eat and drink. Great food. Friendly staff who are very accommodating and will help with any issues. Refunded due to issues with the room.
Unacceptable bed. Was a temporary folding bed with a mattress with springs that will keep anyone awake all night. A topper is needed. TV aerial didn't work very well and limited TV channels. Dirty window with moss growing on it. Very noisy, from staff and other guests, doors slamming all the time. Bathroom not very clean, with a broken sink. No fan for the hot weather and with the window open, the noise from the kitchen is unbearable.
The Swan is ann amazing old building with quirky rooms, each one unique I think. My room was nice and spacious, the bathroom was great and plenty of hot water. The location is amazing, and my room had a great view of the river. The manager and staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked the place and the people a lot, and I enjoyed my stay and was very comfortable (I was doing a course very close by, and wanted somewhere warm and cosy and peaceful to relax in the evenings after my course).
The first room I was, allocated turned out to not have hot water (just tepid) so I went downstairs to ask about this. The manager very helpfully offered me another room, and my new room was fine, with a great bathroom and plenty of hot water. I was a bit surprised about the steep stairs to the room and the carpet on the stairs has seen better says. But to be fair, this is an old building and I think I had bern informed there is no lift.
The Tap house was in a good location and very affordable The place was very quaint, we had a partial glass floor which covered an old grain store. The property did need some refurbishment. The staff were very good and helpful Meals were reasonably priced and enjoyable
Breakfast was served at a sister hotel a short walk away. The taphouse closed late evening until lunchtime the following morning
Great location - ev charging in nearby public car park
I have stayed here over 10 times over the last few years in many different rooms . Room 1 is a disgrace springs coming out of the camp bed type bed I had 4 hours sleep shower was not working properly.
Room 1
Great location, comfortable bed, lovely view of the river. Really good to experience live music next door at the Malthouse. Staff very friendly.
Very poor shower. Hand held which is not great. Very difficult to have a good shower.
Close to Iron bridge
Can’t think of anything
Its location was amazing!
