The Athens Gate Hotel

Great location as very close to the various archaeological sites, public transportation, restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was very comfortable with spacious rooms and facilities. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Amazing views of the Acropolis from the rooftop where you can enjoy delicious food at their restaurant.

Lovely bar with excellent views of the Acropolis and lovely bar staff but need more actual bar staff to make/serve drinks. We just wanted a quick drink in our room before going out to dinner, but were given menu and asked to sit, we already knew what we wanted! so didn’t get to finish our drinks

El hotel está excelentemente ubicado con unas vistas al Acrópolis que es espectacular. En general todo fue muy bien, muy buen alojamiento.

Hay dos cosas que tendría en cuenta. Para semejante tamaño de hotel, los ascensores son muy pequeños y son solo dos, se hacía mucho embudo para utilizarlos y era muy incómodo con valijas grandes. Y el desayuno debería contemplar un servicio de café más ágil. Ellos te lo preparan pero al ser un hotel grande, hemos tenido que esperar 10-15 minutos para el café y sin eso, es difícil arrancar el desayuno.

The hotel was very accommodating to me as I got there before check in and had to wait some time after check out before I could leave. They referred me to a wonderful local restaurant called Arcadia. The area is very walkable.

Breakfast was a bit weak. But the views are great. Also, the bath tub was so high that I injured my knee getting out of it.

Everything about this Hotel was fantastic. We loved the rooftop Bar & Restaurant with super views of the Acropolis, especially at night. Would definitely recommend this Hotel to friends looking for a hotel in a great location in Athens.

Next time, we would book a bigger room.

The location was perfect, it was walking distance to all of the sites we wanted to see. The rooftop restaurant has an amazing view of the Acropolis. The room was great, very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would 100% recommend this hotel!

Warm welcome from the staff especially the lady with the long curly hair I feel bad for not knowing her name. Location was perfect walking distance to Plaka and an abundance of restaurants cafes and the acropolis. Great location. The best rooftop bar I’ve ever been to with a night time view of the acropolis.

Rooms are a little dated but that won’t stop me from returning.

I loved the location of the hotel to the Acropolis! We were only staying in Athens for two nights and location was perfect. It was a short walk to the market in Plaka. I also loved the rooftop restaurant and bar. The breakfast was fantastic and the views were spectacular especially at nighttime.

We stayed here for one night for my birthday especially for the surreal view of the Zeus temple from our window! Wow! Staff were very friendly and helpful and located close to some great vegan restaurants.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great, just a short walk from the Acropolis and many of the main sights. The rooftop restaurant has a lovely view of the Acropolis and is a nice spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Amé este lugar. Las vistas son realmente increíbles y el desayuno es excelente, súper completo y de lo mejor de la estadía. Lo único que le falta es una piscina. Si tuviera pileta, sinceramente creo que sería uno de los mejores alojamientos de Atenas. El staff también fue increíble: todos súper amables, atentos y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Me enamoré de Atenas y, sin dudas, gran parte de lo linda que fue mi experiencia en la ciudad fue gracias a haberme alojado acá. Definitivamente volvería.

The views of the Temple of Zeus form our room and of the Acropolis from the Rooftop Restaurant are unbeatable! The room was very clean and well maintained. The temple of Zeus across the street, and the Acropolis, Parthenon and Plaka within walking distance make this an awesome location. Very friendly staff in all areas too.

Our room was not very large, but this is a minor inconvenience, considering all the advantages of this boutique hotel. And, everything was spotless!

Posizione strategica vicinissimo all'acropoli. Ristorante con vista sul Partenone vale la visita alla sera per una Cena! E' comunque il modo migliore per iniziare la giornata. Abbiamo potuto visitare ogni punto per noi di interesse semplicemente facendo delle belle passeggiate per tutti i quartieri del centro di Atene, molto caratteristici! Davanti all'albergo c'è un piccolo spazio dove abbiamo potuto parcheggiare gratuitamente la nostra macchina per tutta la durata del soggiorno. Sicuramente un plus. Lo staff è stato molto gentile anche con il nostro cane (15 kg) anche se le indicazioni date solo all'arrivo chiedono di non lasciarlo solo in camera (abbiamo fatto i turni a colazione)

The Gate Hotel has an amazing location, right in the centre of Athens and just a short walk from the Acropolis. The perfect base for exploring the city! Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and being so central made everything incredibly convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend The Gate Hotel for anyone visiting Athens. 🇬🇷✨

Perfect location, and the views of the Acropolis and Athens from the rooftop bar and restaurant were incredible. All the staff were great, very helpful and room was clean. Breakfast also excellent.

The Standard room was OK but disappointing - a balcony but no furniture and chipped and broken tiles. The room itself was very bland and uninviting with dated furniture, plain walls and ugly beige textured wallpaper. Quite depressing to be in. Plug sockets only on one side of the bed. Adequate as a base on a city break but not a room to spend much time in.

The view was amazing I was looking right into the Temple of Zeus from my room and for breakfast I was looking at the Acropolis. WOW!!!! The lobby and amenaties were great and the staff was outstaning!!! The staff really made it spectacular - attentive and super helpful!

View was incredible, rooms were spacious, AC worked great, breakfast and dinner were delicious, staff was so incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Highly highly recommend. Great location right at the alternative entrance to the acropolis, better than the crowded main entrance. Steps from the metro station making it easy. very central location. Roof top breakfast was truly breath taking. Really a nice team of staff very nice and helpful, front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, bellman everyone!

Had a large terrace which was nice but the view was of the temple of Zeus which is completely covered in scaffolding so its really just a view of dead grass from the high summer heat. would have preferred a view of the acropolis. Rooms a little small for the price.

Ho pagato un sovrapprezzo in fase di prenotazione per avere una camera con vista. Peccato me l’abbiano data al primo piano vista strada. Oltretutto una strada trafficata e rumorosa a qualsiasi ora del giorno e della notte.

Perfekt beliggenhet, og frokost på takterrassen er en fantastisk fin start på dagen! Skulle bare ønske at hoteller i denne prisklassen kunne ha lært litt av Norge og deres hotellfrokost.

Det var hår i dusjen og mye støy fra gaten. Men ellers så var det lite å klage på.

Although there was an issue with my room on the first night, the hotel staff responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. They listened to my concerns and corrected the situation, making sure the rest of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location is simply unbeatable. Being just steps away from the Temple of Olympian Zeus and within easy walking distance of the Acropolis, Plaka, and so many of Athens’ historic attractions made exploring the city effortless. I truly believe it is one of the best locations in Athens.
