Lovely hotel. Staff were helpful and kind especially the bartender who was very knowledgable. Beautiful views and gorgeous room
This was an amazing hotel. I enjoyed it so much. Had a marvellous Seaview over Fowey just so relaxing my UK highlight
Breakfast good. Took a while for table to be ready and longer for tables to be cleared. Needed a manager directing staff to clear quicker and get ready.
Friendly staff - parking an issue. Overall good value and a lovely hotel
Position and friendly staff. Nothing disliked.
All hotels have good rooms and less good rooms. Unfortunately the Harbour has some shockers! Our room was facing directly onto the street to the rear (at head high for passers by) above the kitchen with extract from the fryers just upwind. Although the summer day we were there was not particularity warm, the room was stiflingly hot when we walked in in late afternoon. This was partly due to the bathroom towel rail being on at full blast. As with many older English hotels there is no air con - just two dusty fans in the wardrobe. Inevitably, given the street was just outside there are restrictors on the windows meaning that the windows could only be opened a little. One just fell down shut as soon as it was opened (a book wedged in solved that). Despite turning the towel rail off the and using the fans the room remained boiling with kitchen fumes coming in through the partly open windows. We spent a very uncomfortable night and will not be returning.
Lovely little hotel with fabulous views and great friendly staff. My room was great and my immaculate. Food was very good. I will definitely be returning soon.
Windows could be better washed not to take away from amazing sea views
The dining room has an amazing view of Fowey. Food options good. The bar tender service was impeccable. Room a good size
Lovely setting, great views across the river. Easy walk into the town with some great places to eat. Parking available but need to book separately with the hotel.
Nicely refurbed hotel, but pricey.lack of parking made it less convenient. Overall the hotel is good but expensive.
Stay at this hotel. Firstly, a credit to the staff, all of whom were fantastically polite and personable, providing simply great service. The vintage lift was a unique joy with the communal areas continuing the slightly nostalgic theme. The bar and dining vibe was relaxed, quiet and combined with great food and attentive staff made for a relaxed breakfast, evening drinks and dinner. Incidentally, dining provides for great views over the harbour. Our room had the most complete sea vista, was incredibly clean with a very comfy bed and was very well stocked with tea and Nespresso coffee. In contrast to other large hotels locally the Harbour provided for a quiet, relaxing stay and a memorable visit to Fowey. Thank you to all at the hotel.
Lovely stay at this hotel. Staff are super friendly. Room was lovely. Didn’t eat at the hotel only breakfast. Shame you now have to pay for a hot breakfast so we stuck with continental which was limited but adequate. We aren’t big breakfast eaters. Complimentary gin is a lovely touch and made the most of that. This was our second stay and will be back. We love fowey
Staff were great, veiw amazing. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant both really good.
Lovely views and friendly people. Would expect a bit more from a 4-star - like air conditioning / pool / spa. I also wasn’t expecting so many dogs to be staying there - which put me off a little, but didn’t cause any real issues.
Great view and location. Staff at breakfast were friendly and professional.
Sublime. Location, staff, breakfast, the quality of the room excellent. I also stayed in Sidmouth, and had the same impression. Highly recommended chane
Excellent staff and refurbishment following our last visit over 7 years ago. Wonderful location, of course you get what yo pay for
A truly beautiful hotel with wonderful personal service .
Recommended.
The Fowey Harbour Hotel is a lovely place to stay. This was my third time there. The hotel is relaxing and the rooms are nice decorated with a modern but cost feel. All the staff were accommodating and super friendly throughout the stay. They were all happy to help with queries and little things like booking taxis. One observation is that when weddings are on the atmosphere of the hotel changes as the weddings can be loud and people over spill into the quiet lounger area. Other than that we had a lovely time and will return again soon.
Very nice comfortable stay with great rooms and lovely view, only area of improvement would be the friendliness of reception.
Amazing hotel. Staff lovely. Views amazing . Very comfortable beds but quite high to get into… stools provided if needed .
Great views, nice staff. Just needs marmite for breakfast
The hotel itself was lovely we had a gorgeous room and view of the harbour and a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant but we would not go back unless we could park at the property as we had to park in the town car park up two steep hills which was no fun to take our luggage to at the end. We have a large car and the roads were so narrow we didn’t want to risk driving down to the hotel again.
The staff at the Harbour Hotel could not do enough for us! So happy and helpful. Extra special thank you to Receptionist Carley for going above and beyond. The rooms are exceptional as are the grounds and Fowey is a beautiful town with amazing bars and restaurants. We can't wait to come back.
Excellent all round, hence my 5 star rating in every category. A lovely hotel, well located, the food was absolutely excellent. I recommend the continental breakfast, there was a lot of choice and again, quality produce. Only one small niggle, the lounge seating is badly laid out,4 people on computers took up all the seating. this could easily rectified.
Great location. Lovely position. Room was very nice. Reception very welcoming. Restaurant staff attentive and friendly. Car parking easy. We had a dog friendly room. Plenty of space for the dog too.
Very small plates for breakfast service. It does limit what people put on their plates and therefore reduces waste. These are ridiculously small and consequently crumbs spill onto the table.
The location, facilities and views are excellent. The staff are brilliant - so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
This was a last minute choice and overall it was a good choice. The location is fabulous although there is limited parking due to its incredible location. The bedroom was very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated in keeping with the hotels overall theme and estuary location. My wife and I had breakfast, lunch and dinner during our two day stay. The choice was good and the meals including breakfast were to a very good standard. My only gripe would be the attentiveness of the staff. All the staff were pleasant and knew their job. It just felt the system they have employed is slow, e.g ordering drinks at lunch. The drinks took too long to arrive and eventually came with our meal. This was disappointing. This is our only gripe. Other than that, we loved it.
Well located, very comfortable room and convenient parking for an additional fee.
One of the loveliest hotels weve had the pleasure of staying at. The staff were excellent, beds were super comfy and the restaurant served up deivcious food. We only wish we could have stayed longer at this excellent hotel in such a gorgeous village.
Friendly and efficient staff; good food; fine views of the Fowey estuary from the dining room and sea-view rooms and a pleasant garden area for when the sun shines. Just 5 minutes walk from the town centre and located directly on the Cornish Coast Path. Highly recommended.
We are always delighted with the friendliness of the team at the Fowey Harbour Hotel - they are great people who really care about looking after their guests. Always have time to stop and chat, and have been able to personalise our stay each time. The parking is first come first served, and we miss the refund on having to use the public parking scheme, so you need to get in there early. But the views across the Harbour and the convenience of the location to the town do make up for this. We will be back.
Staying here was a lovely experience. Fantastic location. Great, friendly service from all staff. Enjoyable bar food. Huge choice of drinks. Wonderful continental breakfast which included fresh fruit & exotic yoghurts, continental cold meats, cheese, cereals, choice of breads & selection of pastries. Really comfortable bed & pillows in attractive bedroom with great views from those in the front of the hotel. Only disappointment was having to pay £12.50 per day for parking. The photo was taken from our bedroom.
.
Stayed for two nights midweek. Our room was well furnished and very clean. Well stocked hospitality tray with an essential coffee machine and a very welcome complimentary gin on arrival. Beautiful view across the river to Polruan. Excellent continental breakfast. Having just experienced Japanese service and hospitality, we were happy to find the staff at the Harbour Hotel can match this! Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Beautiful location, staff were friendly and professional, good food. Can’t wait to return.
Yet another excellent stay. reception really helpful lovely room and even nice weather this time
Great hotel we gad a great stay in this hotel and would definitely recommend it to all our friends .the breakfast and evening meals were great
Very good
Great location with fabulous view of the estuary and harbour and tasteful quality decorations and furnishinhs
Shower tray overflowed immediately, soaking the bathroom floor. Sash windows very difficult to operate. Could hear occupants in other rooms very clearly. I don't know how many rooms the hotel has, but it only has parking for about 12 cars, the roads nearby are double yellow and it's a massive uphill hike to the town car park (about £15 per 24 hours). Serving staff were all lovely.
Only continental breakfast included in price very disappointing as the room rate isn't cheap
Staff excellent - attentive, thoughtful, helpful, happy.
Great hotel in a great location we had a wonderful two night stay , the staff were all very helpful. Make sure to reserve parking as they only have a very small car park.
An excellent hotel in every sense. Made very welcome by a team who are obviously on their game. Would stay again and recommend to anyone.
Hotel room was nice but we had a view of the car park. Slow service at breakfast.
Lovely views as you'd expect.
What an amazing place ,loved it
Very good service. Excellent hotel. Not far to trot into centre of Fowey yet very quiet. Wonderful views from bar and restaurant.
Great stay
Wonderful stay in an amazing room (although you can hear every movement the upstairs guests make). Would definitely visit again.
Lovely weekend in fowey! Treated wonderfully for our anniversary with a card and some chocolates. Lovely hotel with great staff/service. Dinner and breakfast wonderful. Only slight flaw was bedroom could have been slightly cleaner.. coffee stains on decorative cushion
We stayed here for our minimoon and had a lovely weekend. Staff are all very friendly and special thanks to the lovely bar man who made great cocktails (sorry I didn’t catch your name!) and the food was good too. The sea view room was worth it - waking up to Fowey’s beautiful harbour. Lots of things to do in the surrounding areas - Eden project just a 20min drive away.
The hotel is in a beautiful location. Rooms, views and staff are exceptional.
It was great having a designated parking space at the hotel in a town with limited parking. Unlimited choice of food for breakfast plus fabulous views from the dining room. Easily walkable into town. Perfect position for a Fowey holiday. The only minor downside was that the room window did not open very far, the room was warm and airless and the duvet was very thick and hot, therefore we did not sleep very well. It would have been perfect on a cold winter’s night, but not ideal during the very mild nights when we were there.
When the GM of the hotel gives you a lift in his own car to a wedding function out of town !!!! Well you know your in a hotel there looks after the clients. Beautiful setting, great service Gary& Janet Australia
Friendly and helpful staff at reception, breakfast and dinner. Beautiful hotel, lovely food, amazing views
Harbour Hotel Fowey, is friendly, welcoming, unpretentious luxury. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with one of the most comfortable beds we have stayed in. The complementary gin was a lovely touch for a relaxing pre dinner drink, over looking fabulous views of Fowey harbour (Wednesday night is racing night for the local sailing club in the summer and is a wonderful spectacle of colour and seamanship). Food was a delicious, although we little rushed between courses. A little break between our starter and main would have allowed us to enjoy each course to the full.
Loved everything about this hotel. Booked again for next month.
Wonderful views and location. Parking not easy- should be made clearer up front in advertising. But the local car park available and a weeks' pass can be paid for. Staff very friendly and helpful. Please clean the tea tray and if guest wishes coffee machine to be out of cupboard, do not replace daily into the cupboard/wardrobe. Always well supplied. Note that in-house music needs to be turned off before 12 midnight at least, as this was audible in some rooms. Ambience and style of hotel fitting for the setting. Continental breakfast very good and plentiful. Loved our stay overall.
A lovely 2 night stay, great hotel, great room and lovely people made this a treat for us both. Reason for the 4 stars was the restaurant and bar was supposed to be dog free, dogs only allowed outside, there was 7 dogs in the restaurant area whilst having our evening meal.
amazing view from bedroom window over the estuary , however the room was very stuffy and no air con - there was a fan but this didn’t really do the trick. hotel needs modernisation to bring into 21st century - over- priced in my opinion
Was amazing view from bar and restaurant, As booking with hotel.com no sea view from room , Meal for breakfast great choice of cereal and full English, Nice walk to town , Will be back Thanks Martin and Jayne
The position and view from the hotel is wonderful. It is withing essy walking distance of hhe quay, pubs and amenities. It is a slight walk uphill back up the hotel, so might no be suitable for everyone Breakfasts are very good, bit it was not made clear on booking that it is Continental Breakfast, and not English Breakfast, which you have to pay an extra £10 to order. Rather unnecessary when you consider the cost of staying. Bed was extremely comfirtable. Staff very good
2 Day stay and the staff were incredible, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was brilliant (worth paying the extra for the hot options), lunch was also very good
Great hotel
This hotel was the best of my 14 day trip to England. The view is amazing! The food is very good—lots of dairy free & gluten free options, too. I very much appreciated the competent & friendly service. My only complaint is the music at breakfast—not my taste & too loud.
Amazing stay, didnt want to leave
Really nice hotel and food Great location Hard to park if you dont book a space on hotel car park Fantastic garden Only real negative is you are paying 280 for the night then asked to pay another £10 if you want a hot breakfast in the morning....bit cheeky me thinks should be included But apart from that loved it....
Great location and views. Although, rooms were very warm and mine was on floor 1 and road level, so windows couldn’t really be left open at night. Booking for parking and restaurant is a must, as nothing was available on the day of arrival.
We stayed here for a friend’s wedding; it was absolutely magnificent, the hotel, the staff and the food were tremendous!
What a fantastic hotel this is. Nothing faded about the old-school elegance here. Sympathetically updated with modern touches the room and the overall property are fabulous. Lovely staff. Great food. And perfect location to explore Fowey. Highly recommended.
Very nice hotel and stay service excellent food very good and room very comfortable although next time will need full sea view or will not stay.
Beautiful hotel with stunning views of the Fowey estuary. The interior design is contemporary and very well thought out. We had dinner in their restaurant twice as the food & service was first class, everything we ate was fresh & delicious. The bar area has comfy sofas overlooking the water which is so pretty. Lastly the staff were all friendly and helpful, all seemed happy to be there. We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.
Was amazing view from bar and restaurant, As booking with hotel.com no sea view from room , Meal for breakfast great choice of cereal and full English, Nice walk to town , Will be back Thanks Martin and Jayne
Great location for Fowey. close to town, beach, ferry and walks. Quality hotel, bedroom well appointed, great mattress, pillows. Very helpful staff. Continental breakfast okay but i felt it wrong that hot food was an extra cost bearing in mind the cost of rooms. Even a cappuccino was an extra at breakfast. Really?? Issues, not enough parking at hotel, lift is old and was out of order one day, not an issue for us but elderly clientele could have issues. Lovely interior but exterior due a paint job but don't let put you off.
Stay was short but good
The decor of the hotel & the views from the room. Staff were all lovely, friendly & helpful.
Lovely hotel. Amazing view from our sea view room!
Fabulous hotel. Great food excellent staff
Service in restaurant at breakfast was very slow & unmanaged!
We were given a sea view upgrade which was wonderful and provided car park space which saved a lot of hassle for us at our age. Perfect.
Amazing views lovely location, great dining area, food was excellent. Room was dusty so moved to another which had stairs to go to the ensuite, wife found stairs difficult so had to go back to the dusty room, was awaken early with deliveries just outside our bedroom window.
We’ve stayed here a number of times when visiting Fowey. The rooms are lovely and beautifully decorated, the beds are really comfy the sea views are wonderful. Our room this time was suffering from some damp with the wallpaper peeling off a bit but it didn’t really detract from our stay. Breakfast is always lovely, although there was a very large loud group and perhaps it would be better if they were offered one end of the restaurant so the rest of us had a more relaxed experience!
Unique view on the harbour
A very comfortable hotel in a glorious location on the river at Fowey. Great river view from our room. Good continental breakfast with a paying option for a hot dish. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a great few days. There is limited hotel parking which needs to be pre-booked in advance otherwise you have to park in one of the 2 main carparks. There is a bus service from the top car park which is at the top of a steep hill.
Great location, food, bar and views.
Harbour Group of hotels are excellent and Fowey Harbour Hotel didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was superb and the food was of the highest quality.
Staff were excellent and friendly. Great views and good location. The only downside is the limited parking. We were parked on sire for 1 night and then had to move 2 streets away for the next 2 nignts. But there is nothing that can be done as the Hotel is limited on space. If you know that fine and it shouldn't detract from you stay (or arrive by train to Par.) We enjoyed it and thanks to the staff.
Radiator in room did not work properly, very noisy overnight, shame, would of been a great stay otherwise.
Lovely hotel , brilliant location , friendly helpful staff , super clean .... would definately recommend .
Lovely stay, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. However bedding was uncomfortable.
Only there for a short time working but the service was excellent. Hotel was spotless and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend and would stay again.
The peace, quiet with absolutely stunning view.
Great room, lovely staff, very comfortable bed.
Great stay at the Fowey Harbour Hotel . Lovely room and the food was great . My main issue was the car park situation .
