There was nothing that I didn’t like about the Galleon Inn. I would say I was disappointed in the size of the room initially. We had upgraded from the standard room but drew a line on the waterside room as I thought it was already a little above our expectations. I said initially as my husband pointed out we were not planning on spending much time in the room. So I then thought the room was certainly of an adequate size.

Bit of noise from the pub below but we did have the windows open. Be prepared to walk with heavy bags to the car park, wished I’d brought a small wheeled case.

Shower screen could have been cleaner . The toilet roll holder was broken and so came apart when in use . The sink waste was broken and didn’t hold water in the sink , constantly drained away . Some of the evening staff were not all that friendly.

Personnel du soir plus ou moins agréable. À 20h30 il ne servait plus a manger au pub... Le matin en revanche une équipe plus accueillante et chaleureuse. Le lit pas hyper confortable. Globalement aurait besoin d'un rafraîchissement (chasse d'eau pas terrible, rideau de douche sale...)

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026The proximity to activities was great as the Inn is in the centre of town right on the edge of the harbour. We had a beautiful view of the harbour from the window in our room. The milk, tea, coffee and biscuits in our room were replenished daily. Breakfast was more than ample with a large selection of hot choices. The ladies seeing to our needs for breakfast were very attentive and friendly. We would definitely stay at the Galleon Inn if visiting Fowey again.

We sat by the window, where the peaceful view of the morning sea made our breakfast truly lovely. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness; despite the restaurant having been busy late into the previous night, everything was spotless early the next morning.

Staff behind the bar could have been a bit more friendly. Breakfast staff were very pleasant and helpful though. Breakfast time was only 1hr from 0830 to 0930. Shower was very weak.

Reviewed Jun 9, 2026The location of The Galleon Inn was excellent: being in the centre of town, on Fore Street. It was near lots of nice restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. It is about a 7 minutes walk down from the bus stop and about 10 minutes from either of the ferries. It is also convenient for the beautiful coastal paths. Staff there were very friendly and efficient. They allowed us to store our bags before check-in. Check-in itself was smooth. Breakfast was also very tasty. Highly recommend the full English. Our room was of a good size with air con. There was also a kettle with tea bags and coffee which was very much appreciated. It was very clean.
Nothing, really. The water pressure for the shower could be stronger. There are lots of stairs to get to your room. This didn't bother us at all. But if you have mobility problems this is something you'll need to bear in mind.
