Bar and restaurant staff
Lovely atmosphere and comfortable room. Followed by a hearty breakfast in the morning
Love the quirkiness of the room. Feels your stepping back in time. Jamie was nice to chat to.
2nd stay for us. Enjoyed it as much as the first time. Worth getting the breakfast included in the price. Comfortable bed & spacious bathroom. Usually live music Fridays & Saturdays in the bar
Friendly staff, good breakfast
Brilliant location, a traditional pub with rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was hot, tasty and generous. I love that there wasn't one level surface anywhere. I was even rolling off the edge of the bed cause of the slope. it a very old building with bags of character. We've visited Fowey before and stayed at the Quay House Hotel but if came back we'd be booking into the Ship Inn again. Definitely recommend
The atmososphere in this pub is magical.
It is a busy, vibrant pub so there is likely to be some noise.
What a lovely old rustic property full of history.
Everything
Beautiful clean & spacious room in a historic characterful pub. Very comfortable bed and Excellent shower. Room was above the Main Street but no noise issues.
We were doing the south west coast hike and this was one of our stops after a long day hiking in heatwave conditions so it was lovely to have a nice comfortable place to stay. We also had dinner in the pub that evening. which was also good pub grub. Thank you for a nice stay.
Food and accommodation was nice
Staff behind bar not welcoming when we arrived. When we asked for more bottled water later, we’re told no. Just rude.
Very old quirky building. Full of character
A little bit of updating required.
The Ship Inn is in an amazingly central location right next to the bus stop and right in amongst all the shops, restaurants and cafes with the waterfront only a minutes walk away. The staff who work there are all wonderful and polite whether it’s discussing our stay or just grabbing a drink. Breakfast tasted wonderful and was provided promptly, it is eaten with all other Inn residents together in the dining room and they were all pleasant. A small list of breakfast options but all were delicious, cereal is also available if a cold meal is preferred. For dinner they had a large menu to choose from, and were easily able to reserve us a table in the morning as the place gets very busy in evenings. The room was very large and the one we selected had an en-suite with all facilities needed as well as resources provided for a hot drink and biscuits! A lovely light room to rest and relax in.
The property had very lovely staff and facilities, but unfortunately due to the age of the building the floors can be very lopsided and uneven in places. I tripped and fell on the stairs on two occasions, once rolling my ankle quite uncomfortably, due to one step sloping quite steeply backwards, and my mother tripped lower down on another odd step. Alongside this, the windows have very limited movement and can be quite uncomfortable to adjust. As with all pubs, they can get quite loud in the evening especially if an event is going on, as the windows were unable to completely seal close a lot of this noise can travel up into the room above and make it quite hard to get to sleep. Music events were being held each night while we stayed which was wonderful to listen to while downstairs, but less so when upstairs.
Heerlijk ontbijt a la carte met keuze volop.
Lovely property, in a great location for shops, nightlife and harbours. Plenty of character . Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of supplies. Staff were really friendly and helpful
Nothing we didn’t like
Goeie locatie, middenin Fowey. Goed ontbijt.
Klein bed.
The hotel was just perfect to stay in Fowey. Excellent food, good location and very friendly and helpful staff.
Frühstück war gut
Irgendwie etwas unorganisiert. Zeitweise ein Gefühl man würde stören
Quirky very old building/Pub
Great location, substantial breakfast and fascinating history of the this very old building. The landlord is friendly as are all the staff.
During warm weather it would be really useful to have a fan in the bedrooms. Even with the window open air circulation is really poor.
Tore asukoht linna südames, mõnus õhkkond, meeldiv personal.
See, et jalgpalli finaalmänguga samaaegselt toimus quizz 😀
salle du petit déjeuner et déjeuner
lit moyen
Très chouette ancienne bâtisse et bon accueil
Great location and excellent breakfast
Hairdryer not available as it blew up 2 weeks ago 😒
Le petit déjeuner et l'emplacement.
Le lit était mauvais.
quirky, old and wonderful
The pub toilets need an upgrade!
Generous portions and tasty cooked breakfast but limited choice of other items (no marmalade or fresh fruit for example, only toast with strawberry jam!) and variable service.
Bedroom was spacious and adequately furnished but decor rather scruffy and not very clean. Window was fixed open in one position and couldn't be opened further as sashcords were broken, so it was difficult to get good ventilation. The walk-in wardrobe doors had been screwed closed and it couldn't be used, so there was no hanging space for clothes. The shower room was spacious but had no shelving for toiletries, shaver etc. I was expecting a bath with shower over as the booking details indicated a large bathroom, but it was just a corner shower. Overall, the room was disappointing. The dining room was pleasant but food had to be ordered at the bar in the next room and the service was slow. Table settings were minimal and the food was served in a rather brisk fashion without asking if the customer would like anything else such as sauces, water, napkins etc. The advertising gave me the impression that this was one of Fowey's best places to stay, whereas despite the obvious history of the building, it's really just a basic town centre pub that does very ordinary bed and breakfast.
Room, perfect for what i needed, bar was great and busy, great behind the bar 'landlord' and great mix of locals and tourists including the Korev twins!
Urige Unterkunft.
The level of hospitality was exceptional Being right in the centre everything was to hand. Typical Cornish village..no on street parking allowed but car parks serviced by very regular bus service. The quaintness of the hotel is only outweighed by the fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing to dislike
In the heart of Fowey, couldn’t be more convenient . The breakfasts are very generous.
The room did get quite hot (no fan) with this recent very hot weather.
Good Choices available
Breakfast was excellent
Excellent location, very quirky place to stay
The rooms would not be everyones cup of tea, but were clean. The bathroom radiator could not be turned off which was annoying as it was very hot weather during our stay!
Bed so comfortable! Great veggie sausages in the morning. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits in the room. Nice room with an ensuite.
Lovely traditional Pub , great atmosphere, dog friendly excellent food
Nothing was perfect
Really friendly, great value
It was a perfect spot to stay in fowey you are central the accommodation was perfect the staff were very friendly and helpful breakfast was excellent good choice and ideal for my partner who is gluten evening menu also had a great selection
Great location. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good traditional breakfast.
very nice staff great food short way from the pub to the bed
L’emplacement Le côté typique de l'établissement
Rien
Location was spot on. Breakfast was good. Staff lovely. Room quirky remember its a very old building alot of history! We had a view of the church grounds and church.
I actually didn't mind it, but people may find the church bells going a bit annoying but it is the charm of the place!
Location but difficult to get car to for unloading because of small, narrow streets. Only car parking available is quite distant and would be impossible if you had mobility issues.
Bedroom very small, no aircon. Adjacent bathroom was across a corridor, up and down three steps and visible from dining room. Bathroom was clean but noisy from kitchen extractor system.
Centrally located close to quay
Take note room 4 with private bathroom , this is down some stairs across a landing and again up some stairs. This is all in full view of the busy pub. Might also be challenging if mobility problems or popping out in the night .
Breakfast was excellent and all the staff very friendly , great location.
Nothing
Location, breakfast, authentic old inn
The beds were pretty soft, the wifi in the room was rather poor
Fijne locatie in een prachtig stadje. Vriendelijke sfeer en bediening. Prima kamer. Heerlijk ontbijt.
It’s old and wonky and full of character. Friendly staff
Large room with large shower
Breakfast starts a bit late at 09:00
Light airy room
Nothing
Breakfast was ok. Adequate.
Nothing
Centrally located - lively pub setting so some atmosphere Breakfasts were good quality and plentiful Slept well and beds comfy - shower large in my room
It’s an old building and as a consequence some of the stairs are a bit off camber - just have to take care of I had a slight issue with room which I had cause to raise - owner was quick to respond and said would sort - but it didn’t end up being sorted - don’t know why - but it was only a minor thing - nothing really to orevent going back
Nice old building. Room was nicely decorated and clean. The fish pie I had for the evening meal was really tasty.
The breakfast was at 9am-10am only and everyone came together at 9am so it took ages to get the breakfast and it was a little disorganised. It would have been good to know the time of breakfast at the time of booking as we then wouldn’t have chosen to have it. It was too late for us. The staff throughout were a bit functional and the vibe was a bit unfriendly.
Heel gezellig.
Ontbijt was goed.
The history
Nothing
This was a great pub stop-over on the South West Coast Path walk. It's a VERY old pub with wonky walls and great character - as you would expect from a building over 2-300 years old - we loved it! The Staff were awesome and the room was exceptionally clean. We were in room 7 and had to move the pillows to the bottom of the bed so our heads were higher than our feet (like camping) because the floor sloped downwards towards the head of the bed. Not an issue at all - the bed was still comfortable. Also, a great wee breakfast in the morning to set us on our way.
Historic character
Central location, good atmosphere in the pub.
Bike storage was very limited, there was no help with putting the bikes away. Additionally, the staff were late arriving for. Doing breakfast.
A beautiful olde world Inn. Full of character and charm. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Lovely breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing I didn't like.
room great for our needs
should have booked en suite rather than our own but separate facilities
Good, central location - stately old building.
Nothing much.
Everything.

It was noisy, but I probably should have expected that, it being a pub on a Friday night.
Good breakfast

Breakfast and Evening Meal were both excellent
Great British pub/ restaurant and B&B , in a lovely seaside village. Perfect place for a break, live music & live sports was a big bonus. The included breakfast was spot on . Great value for money !
To be honest, there’s no parking, so you have to bear in mind that to park your car in the main car park is just under £12 for 24 hours ,the walk down & back to the town is very steep , didn’t bother me though even as I am 72 years old. however there is a local bus that runs up and down all day.
Friendly staff, fantastic location in the centre of Fowey. Great breakfast and a well run pub/hotel.
Nothing
Camere curate e pulite. Bello il Pub.
.
The history. Comfy bedrooms with modern facilities but the Ship hasn’t lost its historical charm. Room had everything we needed. Staff friendly and efficient. Delicious breakfast. Central location in beautiful Fowey
Staff , location and cleanliness.
Lovely old pub with lots of character and wonderful hosts providing a great breakfast. The pub is very quirky and puts on great entertainment and good menu for an evening meal.
Stairs up to rooms a little dark!
Good location, good food and entertainment on a Saturday evening.
The pillows were slightly hard.
Jamie the host. What a top bloke, couldn't do enough to help and generally made it really nice stay.
It's a very old building and pub so expect it to be like that!
Central, friendly staff, excellent food, comfortable
Room 4 is not ensuite,
