Verney House Resort

A lovely hotel very close to the airport the staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious. The hotel reoom was a very good size and the shower and bathroom facilities were very good. Only stayed the night but will stay again as the location is good and the hotel was easy to find.

I cannot say there was anything that I did not like only stayed one night but what I experienced was very good.

A nice hotel at a reasonable price. I landed late from Montego Airport and meet with my husband to go onto our next destination. I was not sure what to expect from the hotel but was plesantely surprised the hotel was nice and clean and breakfast was made to order in the morning and was lovely.

There was nothing not to like. The hotel was good quality and met our needs.

There were numerous large cockroaches on the walls as soon as we entered the room. The tv was pure static. The internet (which we desperately needed to use) did not work. The rooms were filthy. Do not stay here, you will regret it!

The a/c was not strong enough and took a while to work. Bedding and room decor was basic, nothing close to luxury. The refrigerator didn’t get these cold until day 2. There was no cable that was working unless day 3, and Verney House did not pay for services. You could log in to your services if you already had your own paid services. Staff talked against Uber/Lyft and recommended using local taxis which I tried Day 1. That was a mistake because the local taxi charged a lot more and was very rude.The best thing about Verney House was the low price compared to other places. I think they were listed as a “Resort”. That is not what it was at all. The area felt like a slum. The staff at “front desk” is not often available. Though kind and friendly, it doesn’t make up for the bad accommodations at Verney House. 1 flimpsy towel, a lamp that didn’t work, a rug that was about 5”x5” in the middle of the floor. It was a week I had to endure because I was low on cash. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 2.

Very accommodating to meet your needs,love the area not to mention the view ,the pool and bar in the back it’s very nice this my second time here and I will come again,hot water,ac overall it’s great and affordable,close to the Montego Bay town.

This was my second stay at Verney House & I always feel so welcomed & truly cared to!

Not the easiest to find as satnav misleading and staff didn’t give clear directions. Minimal staff available and no real food on site . The rooms are dated and sheets were a bit stained . Good for a 1 night stay to get to Montego Bay airport early but noisy so sleep not that great .

Sanjay was absolutely amazing for his music entertainment and drinks and Mr. Banks for the most delicious made to order breakfast and diner!!!!! Will be back for you guys!!!!!

The property was affordable and I didn't expect much. However, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms weren't great, but nothing gave problems and I slept sound. The pool was fantastic and I was also able to just sit out and chill, before and after swimming, without interruption. That was great. Best thing was we're hungry and the staff whipped us up all we wanted. Upgrade on the rooms would be good, but the spot was quaint and enjoyable. Thanks for a great stay.

Never checked in. Went to another property that had integrity & wasn't dishonest. The rooms as the other reviews state are accurate in regards to being extremely low end & outdated. But focus on your likes & dislikes oppose to someone else's. I would not recommend the property but that's for you to decided. It's isolated & it's not walking safe or friendly.

This hotel has very kind staff. The rooms are a bit dated but are functional and clean. The internet cuts out sometimes, but it does eventually come back. The hotel would do well to spray for mosquitos!

The staff was excellent. Pleasant stay overall. Customer service on point. I spoke to miss Judine by phone and she was able to accommodate my last minute request. I met Miss Jackie who is also a sweetheart. Everything was ready when I arrived. So grateful for these 2 wonderful ladies. Breakfast was good. I met the chef. The property was clean and the place is quiet if you need a good night's rest. I would stay here again. It is also a budget friendly hotel, worth every penny.

Overall the place was a cute place to stay for a few days. Maybe more much more duitanle t h as n a hotel as lthough i prefer airbnb. However it was enjoyable relaxing TVS IN ROOM NEED TO BE UP TO DATE DIDNT PLAY GOOD FOR GUESS TO WATCH THST NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED, AND TRASH SHOULD BE DUMP DAILY OTHER THAN THAT A GREAT PLACE TO STAY

I like the staff snd cleanliness of perty however they need work on TV while television is on to watch you can barely see whats going on. Food was good i would bring prices slighty down depending among meal. Overall I enjoyed definitely will recommend and come back my self

Excellent place

The hotel, though comfortable needs to be updated. The room was spacious and comfortable yet it needed to be more modern in appearance. The tv/ cable needs a lot of work. If you want guests to be comfortable its the little things that count! I will stay again!

So pleased I had my booking details with me, because they didn't seem to be expecting us! Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Pool area peaceful and pretty. Asked for coffee, which took forever to prepare. Check out time states "Check-out before 11:00 AM" but they were asking for keys back way before this time.

Next time the preparation of the must be a bit faster. They told us half an hour lead up to over an hour

This facility is not well maintained. It needs to be fixed and painted.

You never gonna find Verner hotel. Not you not your cab driver. GPS doesn't work there. Im old school i ask local people and the help me. Hotel is 30 minutes walking from Hip streep bur its on the slope and hard to walk there. Hotel is ok itself. I payed $80 i think it is overpriced even in high season.

The property was decent once I actually found it. Was a little frustrated at first due to the address on the Expedia now taking to directly to the property. the receptionist was extremely nice and so was the other staff. I only stayed one night due to other bookings I had arranged but my family enjoyed it. They serve food on sight as well. The number online does not work, the property number is 876-952-8628. Not into lengthy reviews but I want to save future headaches. Overall decent stay and really nice staff. Had to revise review due to naming a staff which was exceptionally nice to me. The situation

1st checkin. All was well. Second checkin. Room we requested was given away. Guve a room thst had no ac, fridge,no towels and limited bedding. It was a late check in staff on hand did their best. Apparently the room was given to owners neice for her birthday.

The wifi was barely functional and intermittent. Restaurant has irregular hours. Place looks like it has seen better days to be honest. Had to go looking for towels on check-in which made me question how well the room was turned over. Mediocre to average overall.

This property was a bit dated but perfect for the overnight stay before heading to the airport the next day. It was quiet, clean and I would stay again.

For the most part I always stay here but this trip was my worse spend time here because of the hurracane there was no power and they should off let you know before they take your money. Spend 6 days here and 2 out of the 6 days no power had to sleep with no light and no ac. They didnt even compansate you with a free night or at least give you part of your money back as a courtesy.

There has been no upkeep since my last visit. Room had cracked tiles. Leaking bath, tv didn’t work, balcony door doesn’t shut so mosquito’s come in. No chef in the morning so had to walk into town to get breakfast. Don’t do free shuttle anymore

This place seriously has no business in business. From check in to check out, absolutely a Slap Shop. It’s more like an abandoned property that they’re just doing a thing with.

My flight was delayed by three days I needed somewhere to stay last minute. I contacted the hotel direct and the nice lady said they had availability and it would be US$80 per night if I paid by cash it would be 55 Jamaican dollars On arrival, the site was quite pleasant on approach. I was greeted by a really nice lady who was there and she made me feel very welcome. Then the owner came to take my payment, at the time of the payment I didn’t have enough cash on me so I asked if I could just pay a little bit later on in the evening which you agreed , but then I did pay in US dollars because I didn’t have the cash on me and she was happy with that to take the $80 I showed my room and there was two double beds in a small room with very old-fashioned furniture. It did have a bit of a stale smell, but I think it was because the room had been shut up for a while once the air-conditioning was on the smell went the bed was comfortable. I had a shower in the morning, I was getting ready to go and I needed to get a drink to take my medication. The hotel didn’t serve any food as such but you could buy snacks so I ordered a coffee which they gave me on the house then was given a complimentary breakfast by the lady in the front desk, but I think she was aware that I was a diabetic which I was really grateful for , I would stay there again. It was reasonable. It was very local to town and the airport.
