I thoroughly recommend this hotel. It is spectacular. The service, hospitality, food, accommodations, amenities are all very special. They have ongoing classes and events. Each of the restaurants is excellent with El Olivo being over the top fabulous. The views are breathtaking and it is centrally located by town and easy to get to other parts of Mallorca.
La Residencia! A perfect end to our trip in Mallorca. It exceeded our expectations in every way - from the unbelievable scenery to the incredible staff. They outperformed on every level and truly set the bar for luxury hotel service. It is a place with heart and soul- where the genuine care of the staff overshadows the absolute beauty of the landscape. There are many standout moments but to highlight a few- we had a seamless check in and were warmly welcomed back as returning Belmond guests which set the tone for the rest of our stay. Their guest experiences are thoughtfully curated with an impressive variety of creative activities- cooking classes, guided hikes, donkey meet and greet (!). We only wish we had more time to experience them all. The concierge team deserves special recognition for going above and beyond in a way that most would not which ultimately left us with the most memorable experience of our trip. The food was consistently excellent, and the service throughout the resort was exceptional. But once again the staff was the highlight. There are 2 waitresses at breakfast and lunch that welcome you back as though you are old friends everyday. We walked away from each meal talking about how wonderful they are. I could go on and on- but what truly makes La Residencia special is its authenticity - the staff genuinely love the property and sincerely care about their guests. You genuinely feel the love of hospitality on this Property and we truly feel it has set the gold standard.
Wait staff were helpful, poolside service was very good, views were unbelievably stunning. Service felt very corporate-ized and impersonal however. Concierge service was unwilling to go above and beyond for any slight personal requests—disappointing compared to luxury hotels that charge half the rates.
The staff here are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. They think of something you need even before you do! Lovely room and comfortable bed. Pillows changed on request. Food very good too.
I’ve stayed at La Residencia many times over the past ten years, and somehow it just keeps getting better. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some of the finest hotels in the world, but nowhere has ever captured my heart quite like this place. It’s difficult to explain because it’s not the rooms, the views or even the food, although all of those are wonderful. It’s the people. The team here live and breathe hospitality. It isn’t something they switch on when they come to work, it’s simply who they are. Every interaction feels genuine, every smile feels real, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They don’t just meet expectations, they quietly exceed them over and over again. One of the things I love most is seeing the same familiar faces year after year. In an industry with such high staff turnover, that says an enormous amount about how this hotel must treat its team. Happy staff create happy guests, and nowhere is that more obvious than here. There is something almost magical about La Residencia. You arrive feeling like a guest and leave feeling like you’ve been looked after by friends. I’ve brought family and friends here over the years, and every single one has fallen in love with it in exactly the same way I did. What impresses me most is that they never stop trying. Even after all these years, they are still looking for ways to make the experience even better. That relentless attention to detail is incredibly rare. This place has become my happy place. My home away from home. Every year I leave wondering how they can possibly top it, and every year they somehow do. Thank you to every single member of the team. You have something truly special, and I hope you all realise just how much of the magic comes from you.
We ended up at La Residencia on a whim and only had about 24 hours to spend there, but it was one of the highlights of our trip. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. and, instead of checking into our room first, were escorted straight to dinner at Miró. The setting was absolutely beautiful—a pianist was playing and singing as the sun set over the mountains. It honestly felt like something out of a dream. After dinner, we were shown to our room, where we had a wonderfully restful night’s sleep. I woke up early the next morning to explore the grounds before the day warmed up, and I’m so glad I did. The gardens are stunning, the Poet’s Walk is lined with beautiful sculptures, and every corner of the property feels peaceful and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast was exceptional. There was a wonderful mix of traditional Mallorcan specialties and classic breakfast favorites. The homemade breads and fresh juices were some of the best we’ve had. What stood out even more was the staff. They were incredibly warm and attentive with our son—even taking him into the kitchen to make his special request of ham and bread, which completely made his day. Fernanda at the Kids Club deserves a special mention. She was the first person our son has ever willingly stayed with, which speaks volumes about how kind, patient, and engaging she is. She’s truly a gem. We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool, took the hotel’s shuttle to and from Cala Deià, enjoyed the complimentary cava tasting, and ended the day on a sunset cruise arranged by the hotel. The boat—a beautiful 38-foot Pardo—was fantastic, and Jaime was an outstanding captain who made the experience even more memorable. I only wish we had stayed longer. In just 24 hours, La Residencia managed to create memories we’ll treasure for years. The beauty of the property, the genuine hospitality, and the feeling of complete tranquility make it one of the most magical places we’ve ever visited. It’s truly an absolute dream.
I love, love, love Belmond properties… our first Belmond was our wedding in Ravello and we’ve stayed at about 6 different locations. The service was impeccable, and it felt extremely friendly and welcoming. Pool service was by far the best we’ve ever had. Breakfast is always the star of the dining at Belmond properties, which did not disappoint here either. They also had an awesome fully equipped gym. Spa was nice but the pool could use some renovations and the massage was just good, not great. The yoga was terrible - and all people in the group we had just met agreed when we ran into them later. She had a bad energy. We felt more stressed by the 30 min delay because no one was told to bring their own yoga mats so we had to run all the way back to the gym, the instructor was very disorganized and didn’t show anyone what to do, and we were directly in the sun (95 degrees). But it was something to laugh about later. Concierge was very helpful. Each day we stopped at the cake bar (your choice of 8 different freshly baked cakes each day), and a sunset aperitif on the terrace with live music. The terraces and bar are always my favorite part of a Belmond property - the views are like a dream. The General Manager checked in on us three times during our 2 night stay, which was appreciated. Out of all the Belmond properties, this one had the best service and was very on top of things. I overheard one couple having to catch an early flight and having to miss breakfast the next day, but the waitress said she’d be in early and would back them one to go - impressive. However, the room and bathroom were very basic for $3500 per night, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I also think all Belmonds in general fall short with lunch and dinner so there is room for improvement.
We have been visiting the residencia since it was owned by richard Branson , it was then let’s say rather a relaxed hotel but since it’s been owned by the big group l lvmh It has improved in all respects , so much so we visit it automatically every year . This year we decided to start by a few nights at the Matthew Williamson suite . It has its own decent sized pool , completely private with a lover Italianate walkway Covered in wisteria , you open the door to the suite and there us the walkway There is a sitting area just as you go in covered in if course colourful cushions and then this splendid walkway , a walkway in your own suite ! The rooms itself are full of colour as you might expect , very comfortable bedroom , bathroom and lounge and then it’s very private pool . A delight After this a stay in the tower suite , with great views. We enjoyed enormously the food in the Tramuntana dining area near the latge pool And of course the excellent breakfasts where everything you would want is on offer The staff in the hotel to a man or woman cannot do enough for you they are genuine warm and efficient , they made our holiday . As I have said before to sit on the terrace overloooking their beautiful gardens sipping a rose champagne is one of life’s pleasures . So it’s must return to spot .
The most beautiful setting I’ve ever visited. We popped in for a cocktail in the afternoon, and it was just fabulous. The surroundings were stunning, creating such a relaxing and memorable atmosphere. The staff were so warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the experience even more special. A truly beautiful place that I’d highly recommend, and one I’ll definitely visit again.
We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of July, and the experience was great. We have not been in a hotel where the personnel was that friendly and guest oriented as this one. In addition, all restaurants provide great food, and the pool areas are with nice view, well maintained.
Deia is stunning and the hotel has a unique artistic charm. The buildings are authentic, and the gardens and views very beautiful. Staff are helpful and add to the happy vibe. A minor grumble is a shower over a bath at this price is a throwback to then1980s, but obviously a first world problem. This is a very special place and we will be back.
As someone with a background in hospitality who has had the opportunity to stay at many luxury properties, I expected a higher level of service and personalization given the exclusivity and price point of this resort. While the property itself is beautiful, several aspects of the experience fell short. We encountered a few less-than-welcoming interactions at both Miro and Tramuntana, there was no service available at the adults-only pool, and beverage pricing felt very excessive ($30 for NA pool drink) —particularly for non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails. I was also surprised that no one from the concierge team reached out prior to arrival. Simple pre-arrival touches such as assistance with dining reservations, local recommendations, or room preferences would have helped create a more thoughtful and personalized experience. I've provided the resort with a detailed survey outlining my feedback in the hope that these observations can help improve the experience for future guests. Overall, the resort did not deliver the level of hospitality and attention to detail I would expect from a luxury property. Sadly I don't think we would consider ever returning.
This Belmond Hotel is excellent. Its setting provides stunning views with scenic walks and access to the beach. The staff are top notch and the food offering is varied across three top restaurants and of excellent quality. Prices reflect the standards and quality of the offering.
If you want true luxury and a restful hotel this is the place to go. Exceptional staff great restaurants that suit all expectations.
This hotel was the best hotel we’ve stayed it in and exceeded our expectations from the moment arriving checking in the staff was lovely and friendly giving us a complimentary welcome drink to a tour around the hotel and our room was unbelievable had everything you needed. Waking up to breakfast in the morning with the most beautiful views of the mountains Everything was perfect
This is an amazing hotel in a beautiful location. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
We had the most amazing time. The hotel and setting were beautiful. Staff so helpful. Everything was wonderful, we will be returning.
This is our second trip to La Residencia. It was as perfect as the last time. The service the room and the food were all top class. Weather wasn’t very good but the hotel still excels in everything. I love the breakfast definitely the best of all the hotels we stay in. The art class was a lovely 3 hours. Juan wasn’t there due to illness but the young boy was excellent. (Sorry forgot his name) Staff and management can’t do enough for you. Love it will be back.
Check In/Arrival: We stayed at La Residencia in the Executive Junior Suite for 4 nights. We organized a private transfer from the airport in the luxurious Mercedes S Class sedan organized by the resort. The transfer was seamless, but very pricey at 265€, we decided to take a taxi (booked by the hotel) on the way back that was only 70€ and worked out great at a fraction of the price. Upon our arrival to the hotel, we were provided with a welcome drink on the terrace while they checked our passports. The terrace was very peaceful with flowers, hummingbirds, and impressive views of Deia. The AMEX perks were honored as this is a fine hotels and resorts property and we were provided with a tour of the property. The entire property is gorgeous with flowers, olive trees, and beautiful historic stone architecture. The groundskeepers did an amazing job of keeping the property very well groomed during our entire stay. It was very impressive. Grade A+ Room/Amenities: The hotel is located on the hillside and does require you to walk up some flights of stairs to reach your room which for some people might be difficult, but they do have elevators you can use. Our Executive Junior Suite was located at the very top of the resort. The views from the room were breathtaking overlooking the town of Deia. You can see the mountainside, the church, and some distant views of the ocean. The room has a private terrace with an umbrella, two chairs and a table which we used frequently during our stay for breakfast and to enjoy the views. There was also a large hot tub with two lounge chairs. We didn’t use the hot tub very much because it wasn’t very hot and we couldn’t find a way to easily adjust the temperature. Also at night time there isn’t lighting around it so we really didn’t utilize it much but it was cleaned daily and nice to look at. The suite itself is massive and very clean. You have a large bed which was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in while traveling. There is a TV with some English speaking channels. The TV had chrome cast which you can use to stream, but I couldn’t easily connect so we just watched the cable channels. It was a huge bathroom with Dyson hair dryers and a nice safe. They had a mini fridge with soft/cold drinks and a coffee machine which was just okay. The room had euro adapters we could use for the electronics which was nice. The room was very well stocked with free bottled waters which I feel that a lot of European hotels don’t always prioritize. They have his and hers sinks with lots of counter space. Large walk in shower and bath tub. Nice toilet with bidet if that is your thing. There was a lot of closet space and drawers. Overall room was spectacular and the housekeeping did a wonderful job. Grade A Food/Dining: We were not impressed with the dining at La Residencia. We did not care for the food at Cafe Miro or El Olivo. At Miro, while it appears that they use very fresh high quality ingredients, we did not find that the food was appropriately seasoned or flavorful and wouldn’t recommend it other than for the views. El Olivo is also a very beautiful restaurant with great service and views, but we did not enjoy the food there at all. We have had the pleasure of dining at many Michelin star fine dining restaurants throughout the world and the food just did not measure up. The dishes had maybe too much focus on creativity and less on taste, one dish included a single noodle made of fish collagen that had a horrible gummy texture and to this day is one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. We did not finish most of the dishes of the tasting menu. Great spot for taking pictures, but felt more like style over substance. The food at Traumantana Grill was delicious, however we waited 30 minutes after being seated to be approached to order a drink. It appeared there was only one waitress for a full restaurant so needless to say the service was very slow. One of the best meals of our trip was off property at Trattoria down the street. We were also not impressed with room service. We ordered snacks to our room upon arrival that took over an hour and a half to arrive which was frustrating as we were very hungry after traveling for so long. One morning we tried to call room service repeatedly and there was a frustrating phone issue where we could not get through and kept getting redirected to the front desk. On the last morning of our stay, we ordered breakfast which did not arrive until just a few moments before we had to leave for the airport. When we opened the dish it had mushrooms which we repeatedly told the hotel my wife had a mushroom allergy. We did not have time to order a new one so she went without breakfast for our day of traveling. Very disappointing. Grade D Location: Very nice property. Walkable to the small town and easily can commute between the different cities of Mallorca. Grade A *Activities/Spa: They offer daily complimentary activities. We really enjoyed seeing the on-site donkeys “Chico and Carlos” and feeding them carrots/cucumbers. We were disappointed that the hotel offered a private bee tour on the brochure but when we asked about it we were told it wasn’t possible and that we could do the group tour only offered on Monday (we left Monday morning). We were also disappointed that when we asked the concierge one day if we could do their “tea with Miro” experience he said we had to give advanced notice of at least 24 hours so we weren’t able to do that either just timing wise. Concierge: After booking our stay, the concierge did not reach out to us to ask about assisting us with dining reservations or activities. As we got closer to our arrival date we reached out to them to ask about organizing a boat charter and dinners. We were not impressed with our interactions with the concierge team. The responses were delayed and the team felt disorganized. We have stayed at many Fine Hotels and Resorts properties in the past and have always felt that being hotel guests we would be prioritized over the general public. This was not the case at La Residencia. They were very limited on dining reservations and communications were often confusing. I don’t know if they are understaffed and it is off season still, but with a price of ~1800€/night you expect better. For example, we were told a week before our stay that there was only one date and time available at El Olivo for our whole stay. Luckily we were able to make it work although the time was not preferred, but it later became apparent from empty tables in the restaurant that we probably could have come later in the evening which was frustrating. We had a lovely day on the boat, but were 30 minutes late due to a miscommunication between the concierge and the taxi to pick us up. After the fact they told us they don’t recommend taxis and that we should have used their overpriced private transfer. We were told that we would be reimbursed for the time lost, but after following up with the concierge team (speaking to about half a dozen different people) they didn’t honor that. Overall Impression: Come for the views, beautiful grounds, the spa, and the comfortable rooms. If you are a foodie maybe choose another destination. Overpriced for what you get and seem to be catering to Instagram rather than to the guests of the hotel. Overall Grade B-
I just came back from a truly nice trip to Mallorca and chose to stay in Belmond because I've had great experiences in Peru (Machu Picchu, train and Cusco), Madeira and Brasil (Rio and Cataratas) before. Because my kids were with me, and also my dog, and this was a birthday trip for me, I chose to stay in the 3-bedroom villa. Just a couple of days before going I realised the villa was OUT of the hotel complex (no need to say that being in the Tramuntana mountains you should expect hills to move between the villa and the hotel and also not so safe returns for kids crossing the main road by themselves if they want to go back to the room). The staff was REALLY nice (except for Julia from bar/Miró restaurant that was rude). Concierge level with RUBEN was extra special. Food was also great (breakfast was delicious and the paella we had in the villa with the private chef was incredible - and both chef and waiter were fantastic people), but in room dining serving pasta in a paper box was outrageous. I would say I had mixed feelings about the villa (it's very old and it smells like it although it was renovated), they would cover all the outdoors furniture making it impossible to use when arriving from a long day and just wanting to seat at the balcony and enjoy the view - plus it looks like an abandoned house being it all covered through the balcony doors (I had to request multiple times for them not to cover the furniture - because between being able to reach someone in front desk via WA (phone didn't work) and someone actually arriving to the villa it took 45min - so the will to enjoy outdoors was over already when they would finally arrive). PS: 3 bedroom is not 3 suites (not even one) - the restrooms although are there for each room are outside the rooms. PS2: If they try to sell you the Unesco Villages tour please be aware that you might be able to find it way cheaper outside (there's no guide - it's a van with a driver that takes you to 2/3 villas and stop the car for you to stroll around by yourself - so hiring a full day of a taxi driver would be the same experience and it wouldn't be 1,2k euros I suppose).
Love Belmond! All their hotels ate amazing and Residencia is a Dimond. The people are amazing.
Everything was amazing. The staff was very kind, the pool was beautiful, it was peaceful — everything was top-notch. Thank you 🩵
Wild with quiet sophistication. The best combination of indoor chic and outdoor magic, where every detail feels thoughtfully curated—from the elegant interiors to the serene natural surroundings. A truly special place that offers both refinement and a deep sense of escape, making it unforgettable from the moment you arrive.
I travel a lot - to some of the best hotels in the world - this is top notch. The setting, amenities, service, food are all next level. Everything is considered - blankets, heaters, Dyson hair dryers. We followed this stay with Cap Rocat - a big disappointment generally but especially so after experiencing La Residencia. This was our best Belmond experience to date - worth every penny!
We’ve been fortunate to travel extensively and stay at some remarkable properties over the years, including several other Belmond hotels. La Residencia sits at the top. We came for our babymoon, and from the moment we arrived the team seemed to understand exactly what that meant without it ever feeling scripted or performative. The care was genuine. The attentiveness was constant but never intrusive. The valets, waitstaff, pool attendants…every single person we encountered was warm, professional and, most remarkably, seemed to genuinely love being there. That’s rare. That’s culture, not training. The property itself is extraordinary - the terraces, the gardens, the views down toward Deià. But what stays with you is the detail. Chilled water and sunscreen waiting at your lounger without asking. Wipes for your sunglasses poolside - I’d never seen that before. A pregnancy pillow in the room…again, first time at any hotel. Small keepsakes when you check out. None of it accidental. Having stayed at Belmond’s properties in Sicily, Caruso and Reid’s Palace, I know the group sets a high standard. La Residencia matches it completely and in some ways surpasses it — because the intimacy of the property means the service feels personal rather than institutional. We left heartbroken to go. That’s the only review that matters.
La Residencia is more than a hotel to my husband and I, it’s a luxury experience to recharge our batteries. The welcome is always warm, the location is one of this world’s treasures and the property is stunning. We very much hope to return soon.
We liked everything
Remarkable in every way! Just stunningly gorgeous and everything down to the last detail was perfect. Our children are ages eight and 10 and theyloved it! The hike with the general manager Thomas is a must do. Great heated pools, stunning views very friendly staff. They upgraded us tothe Matthew Williamson suite which is amazing and unbelievable. The bright colors are so cheerful and welcoming. One of the most special hotels in the world, and we will definitely back!
This is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. You can feel from the moment you arrive that everything is truly about the guests. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully designed, and it’s genuinely a pleasure to be there. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive—not just polite, but genuinely caring. At breakfast, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients; everything is fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back.
A really top quality hotel in every aspect. We had 5 night there in a Double Deluxe Room with private terrace and garden - No. 53. This was excellent in every aspect. We cannot fault this Hotel in any way. An ideal location matched by the unique historical ambience of this hotel is quite unique and the best. The service given by ALL the staff is again the best. This hotel is just ideal for a 'special' occasion or just to relax and chill out.
Third time to La Residencia and hoping it won't be the last. We had a fabulous stay, the views all around are beautiful and the staff go out of their way to be accommodating. We were greeted with a lovely cold glass of cava and our rooms were ready at lunchtime. Breakfasts were divine with a relaxed air on the terrace but with impeccable service. Can't wait to return if we can
Gorgeous luxury trip in the beautiful mountains of Mallorca. A hidden gem. Amazing hotel with personalised service which was outstanding. El Olivo, the fine dining restaurant is outstanding with so much creativity and story telling. An experience to treasure
Breakfast was fantastic!
Belmond La Residencia is one of those rare properties that exceeds every expectation. Our junior suite was exceptional, waking up to sweeping views across Deia and all the way to the sea is something I will not soon forget. The art walk and donkey trail made for the perfect post-breakfast ritual, winding through some of the most beautiful countryside Mallorca has to offer. The spa was so impressive that we booked additional appointments before we had even finished our first. Every detail felt intentional, every staff member genuinely warm. This is a property I will be recommending with complete confidence.
We had always wanted to treat ourselves to a stay at La Residencia, so our 25th Wedding anniversary felt like the right moment - it surpassed our expectations - we knew the setting was magical already but what we experienced through the staff, the attention to detail and a sense of understated luxury - a place integrated into its setting - was just magical - we will be back..
One of those most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed it.
Nothing - everything was above and beyond our expectations!
Brought my mom here to celebrate her birthday and literally every member of the staff went above and beyond to make it special for her. The customer service here is truly the best. the only regretful part was having to leave. Highly recommend
酒店很美 服务很到位
Unbelievable amenities, service, dining, truly 10/10
완벽한 신혼여행을 만들어주셔서 감사합니다! 여기만 보고 마요르카를 다시 놀러올 예정이에요!
La Residencia is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The setting in an old finca in Deià, surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains, is uniquely special. The food is exceptional, but what truly sets this place apart is the remarkable attention to detail from every member of the team. Every moment felt thoughtful and genuine. An outstanding stay in every way. Thank you very much to all of the team at La Residencia!
We had a fabulous experience with your villa. We took many pictures of the landscape. We always appreciated the art
This is a place where you can completely relax. the surroundings, the hotel, the food ,the staff ... everything is perfect.
I just arrived home from La Residencia and I was looking forward to write a review. In my case I spent a night together with my parents. We are residents in Mallorca and we had always heard amazing things from this hotel and, for sure, we needed to try it. Everything was perfect from the start to the end. The people were welcoming and a lot of them local, speaking in catalan, which was really nice. The service and each detail of the decoration was perfect, from having a welcome drink at Bar Miró with stunning views towards the town, how each plant was in perfect state and everything so cleaned on the exterior. Between others, these details show the work that is done throughout the day. In the case of our room, it was perfectly designed with several amenities and a Dyson. I felt in love with the shower, which had lovely tales, and my mother with the lamps and the bed. Later at the Spa… another level of relaxation. My mother had a more relaxing recovery massage and I had one recovery massage with the help of a massage gun, both with Gemma, which was really great. It was fun to see how we both came out with different faces as we came in! As well, a variety of tee and snacks are to be self-served and a lot of services to use. Our favorite one, with no doubt, the exterior jacuzzi. Our dinner at Miró was magnificent. From the service, to the perfectly cooked “solomillo“ which melt in our mouths. We would like to mention Marta and Dani who took really good care of us during the night. From the breakfast I would like to highlight the coffee, from which my father had three and is quite unusual, and the variety of healthy food, olive oil’s and salt varieties that are produced in the Balearic Island. In conclusion, I would definitely suggest any tourist coming in for a few days at this artistic hotel and, we will definitely be coming back next year with some more time!
LA RESIDENCIA Mallorca is breathtaking. Every second and every frame felt stunning. Time slows here, and nature and architecture blend in perfect harmony. I cannot imagine a better place to recharge. From the welcome to the parting gift, every detail felt thoughtful, and every team member was warm and professional.
The venue was suburb, they provided excellent service. The hotel provided everything you could think of in your room and around the hotel. This was the nicest place we have stayed in on vacation. Thank you for the wonderful vacation.
Beautiful location. Clean and comfortable. Excellent food and drink options.
The hotel itself is gorgeous but I got verbally abused on my first night by another guest of the hotel. She was not removed from the hotel and should have been - it resulted in me being 'escorted' to breakfast and 'all the staff watching me to ensure I was ok' but this just made me feel watched and uncomfortable. I didn't feel safe for the rest of my stay which is a shame as the views are beautiful of the mountains, the staff were accommodating and the hotel itself is classy. It is a shame that the situation was not handled better and it has put me off travelling alone. This has retrospectively been addressed by the hotel on my return to the UK.
It was the best experience, the place was awesome and the weather was great. The colors of the mountain makes it more cozy with a vintage/modern aura of the hotel. We love it so much. We love to go back if we have time. Thank you
Mine was a two-days trip to this marvellous place in heaven, there is no other ways to describe this spot. The atmosphere is of total relax and the sense of nature you get when walking through the paths of the property leading you to panoramic spots is uncomparable. The room we had was simple but yet full of comforts, the colourful bathroom with the huge walk-in shower totally renewed was difficult to leave! The value for money has no competitors, believe me, the calmness and "let-it-go" feeling sourrounds you anywhere you go, and the staff is of another level! It is not a home-away-from-home, it is paradise! I was so lucky to get to know the general manager and his incredibly skilled collaborators, they are all happy to welcome you in this unparalleled experience. I feel grateful for the 30 degrees of late October and having enjoyed the free activity offered by super kind Jeanne, who lead me and my friend in this uncomparable mindful walking meditation across the property's gardens. A BIG THANK YOU TO EACH ONE OF YOU GUYS, YOU ARE SUPER ❤️ Hope to visit you back soon Ylenia R.
We were made to feel extremely SPECIAL - kind of like royalty! The grounds & facilities are well maintained The room was spacious & provided privacy & wonderful views The staff went out of their way to keep us satisfied in all areas
1st world problem - no heated floors to the bathroom area.
I was back After a couple of years and need to say that service is Always excellent! Loved the refurbishment of the Main pool! Room decoration Amazing! The staff was everywhere so gently, great attention to the details from Pep, Francesco, Delphine, Marc, Alberto and Elena from Concierge, Carmen from Miro restaurant, and Sara from breakfast 😀Looking forward tò be back soon. Last buy not list thanks for the Amazing upgrade to Inma from reservation department
We enjoyed a fantastic short break at La Residencia. The hotel and its grounds are stunning, set right in the heart of beautiful Deia, but a peaceful haven away from visitors. We really enjoyed the wonderful walking route from Deia to Soller which starts at the hotel gates - incredible coastal and mountain views. All of the staff are kind, attentive and super efficient so we enjoyed excellent service throughout. Our two meals at Miro and El Olivo were delicious and the breakfast setting and choices are great too. We stayed in the Robert Graves Villa (a short walk from the hotel grounds) which has amazing mountain and sea views and a lovely pool, was fully stocked with fantastic food and drink gave the four of us lots of space in which to. Highly recommended.
La Residencia perfectly captures Deia’s charm—peaceful, artistic, and beautifully in tune with its surroundings. The staff were outstanding, consistently warm and professional, making our stay feel personal. Our room was stylish and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent, though its proximity to the dining area meant some early noise in our room. Lunch was pleasant but overpriced for small portions. The bar felt overpriced. The spa was relaxing but could use upgrades, particularly the steam room which didn’t work properly. Sauna was small. The massage was poor and one of the worst I’ve had in such a much calibre establishment. Overall, a five-star experience thanks to the setting, staff, and atmosphere. With a few tweaks, it could be truly exceptional but in our view didn’t quite match the world class reputation of the hotel.
We recently stayed at La Residencia and were truly taken by the charm of Deia—a stunning, peaceful village that perfectly captures the spirit of Mallorca. The hotel itself blends seamlessly into this picturesque setting, offering a relaxed, artsy atmosphere that really sets it apart. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff stood out. Every team member we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely helpful, which made our stay feel special and personal. Clara in particular from concierge was so informative and supportive of our daily experience. Our room was comfortable, beautifully appointed, and full of character. We especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was lovely and well presented. Critical feedback: It’s worth noting that our room was positioned quite close to the breakfast dining area, which occasionally disrupted the early morning peace. The positioning of the windows particularly presented a reduced feel of privacy which overlooked pathways. While we didn’t dine at the hotel’s restaurants for dinner, we did have lunch and found it to be somewhat overpriced given the portion sizes. One small disappointment was at the bar: we ordered an Old Fashioned (our pre-dinner drink of choice) and requested Maker’s Mark, which was listed as a €2 supplement on the menu as a bourbon. We were surprised to be charged €5 extra per drink, particularly when the standard version of the drink is made with a rather low-end Jim Beam, which didn’t quite match the quality we expected from a hotel of this calibre. The spa facilities also felt slightly underwhelming. While the area was pleasant, the steam room in particular could use some improvement to meet the standard set by the rest of the hotel. It wasn’t full of steam. Despite these minor criticisms, La Residencia remains a five-point experience for Trip Advisor in our view—primarily due to the outstanding staff, the beautiful setting, and the unique artistic ambiance that runs throughout the property. With a few thoughtful adjustments, this place could easily go from excellent to exceptional and be a true Five-star establishment. We look forward to returning one day, and hope this feedback is helpful to both management and future guests.
We came again to La Residencia (our absolute favourite place on the island) this time especially for "Art of Flavours". We had an amazing experience ! The setting was magical, the food the best of the best from different chefs of the Belmond group but also from the island and Spain. It was a true pleasure and we hope to be back next year!
Not a True Five-Star Hotel – Beautiful Setting, Poor Experience I’ve traveled all over Europe and Asia, staying in many true five-star hotels, and this is not one of them. It’s also not suitable for elderly or mobility-impaired guests. We were in Room 46, directly over the breakfast area—very loud and smoky. Staff said the smell came from burning something to deter bees. They offered to move us, but my friend uses a cane. I’m 55, extremely fit, and stairs don’t bother me, yet the setup still felt inconsiderate and outdated. The windows didn’t seal, the air purifier was filthy, and the water pressure too weak to rinse my hair. “Eco-friendly” shouldn’t mean nonfunctional—these rooms feel 20 years behind in tech and comfort. The spa is coed, which is fine in theory, but when I tried to use the sauna, a man was sitting there completely naked with everything on display. No staff, no signage, and no one to report it to, so I left. I’m not a prude, but that’s not how a coed spa should work—nudity should be limited to single-sex saunas. It left me wondering if staff training or guest guidance simply isn’t a priority here. A beautiful location can’t hide poor design, bad wiring, and weak service. The whole experience felt like “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
Pros: Excellent location if you want to explore the northwest towns of Deia, Valldemossa, and Soller; tucked in the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range. Stunning property/grounds--like out of a fairy tale. Very friendly and courteous staff (special shoutout to Joanna & Sylvie in the front desk, Clara & Eva in El Olivo restaurant, and Toni, F&B director). Spacious bedroom: comfortable bed and pillows, 2 independent sink areas in the bathroom, plus shower and a bathtub, nice bath products, impeccable cleanliness, great A/C temperature, and a heated plunge pool. Outstanding food--particularly at El Olivo restaurant, but also the breakfast buffet and a-la-carte options. A plethora of incredible activities and amenities available. Complimentary valet parking.
Cons: Not having had allotted enough time to enjoy a full leisurely day to enjoy all of the hotel amenities (e.g., the pools, the spa, the tennis courts, the shuttle to Cala Deia).
The setting is idyllic. The property has beautiful architecture and classic/antique masonry. Feels like you’re in a renovated Spanish castle. The pool has picturesque views of the mountain range. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The service and attention to detail is elite. You feel worshiped upon. We happened to go during two food events with Michelin star chefs. The quality and variety of food at the event was unbelievable.
Magnificent Hotel.
Everything, especially the service, was exquisite.
This hotel is incredible one of, if not THE best I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive you immediately relax in the stunning gardens. the incredible staff ensure you have everything you could possibly need. The food is outstanding and the service is professional yet friendly. Highly recommend this hotel, you will leave feeling fully relaxed, rejuvenated and revived. (And planning your return!)
The resort was beyond our expectations. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Huge breakfast buffet daily, and hot entrees offered. All excellent.
The service, the dining, the amenities - exceptional. As was the facility itself. All well maintained.
From the moment we arrived at La Residencia in Mallorca, it was clear we were in for something truly special—thanks in large part to the outstanding leadership and warm hospitality of General Manager Thomas Moon. Our experience began effortlessly with the porters immediately stepping in to take care of our luggage and encouraging us to simply hand over the car keys and relax. From there, we were invited to enjoy a welcome drink at the bar while our check-in was being arranged. It was a small gesture, but it set the tone for what would be an impeccably curated stay. Thomas personally greeted us, taking the time to make sure we were comfortable and to offer assistance with dinner reservations because he truly prioritise the guests under his scope. Even more impressive was how his gracious attitude seemed to be mirrored by every staff member we encountered, creating a seamless and welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire property. La Residencia itself is breathtaking. Nestled among the hills of Deià, the views are nothing short of spectacular. The property is beautiful but there are quite a few stairs so older folks who cannot walk should beware. Our room was both cosy and comfortable because we got upgraded and the view from every window is picturesque. I cannot highlight anything but Thomas moon, just for him it was worth the trip!! If not it would feel like any other hotel!!
This was our third stay and each time we go the service and Experience gets better. Would highly recommend
An absolutely enchanting resort, very well maintained throughout. Beautiful, impeccable gardens and excellent service.
bath salts were missing
This was our 7th trip to this hotel and as normal everything was perfect. The hotel, facilities, staff and Deia village itself was perfect.
Wow this hotel is out of this world. Came for my 40th and it really as beautiful as instagram. Blown away. Nothing to fault. Would love to come back one day.
A Breathtaking Escape – Pure Perfection From the moment we arrived at La Residencia, we were swept away by its serene beauty, manicured gardens, impeccable service and exceptional facilities. Nestled in the stunning Tramuntana mountains, with panoramic views of the old town village of Deia, this hotel is more than a place to stay — it’s a soul-restoring experience. The staff redefine hospitality. The reception staff are exceptional, so warm and welcoming on arrival, intuitive, they anticipate your every need. From the personalized check-in and welcome drink on the terrace to the nightly turndown service complete with a padded cushion to step out of bed onto and the softest of slippers! The hotel itself and our suite were beautifully appointed, blending old world Mallorquín charm with modern luxury. The plush bedding guarantees a blissful night sleep, and the views from the windows and terraces are incredible. The restaurants are fantastic, and the service and attentiveness of the staff is outstanding. Dining on the terrace of the Tramuntana grill watching the sunset into the Mediterranean is magical. Breakfasts were equally impressive, with options that catered to every taste. La Residencia is not just a hotel it’s a sanctuary, an escape from the real world where you will rediscover peace and harmony. Whether you’re looking for romance, solitude, or inspiration, you’ll find it here. We left feeling completely relaxed and renewed, and already planning our return! Cannot recommend highly enough.
I stayed at La Residencia during spring break and have truly never experienced a hotel like this — pure magic from start to finish. It’s not just the breathtaking location in the Tramuntana mountains, but the exceptional level of service that makes this hotel one-of-a-kind. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality and communication were flawless. Every single detail — from the food presentation to the thoughtful in-room touches — was impeccable. I want to personally thank David and Francisco, whose warmth, kindness, and professionalism made each day feel extra special. And a heartfelt thank you to General Manager Thomas, whose attentive leadership is felt throughout the entire property. The staff truly anticipates your every need. The spa was a serene sanctuary. I loved the sauna, and the overall ambiance was incredibly relaxing. The gym was well-equipped with everything needed for a proper workout — no shortcuts here. Food-wise, the breakfast was divine, and every bite I had throughout my stay was fresh and high quality. I didn’t get to try El Olivo this time, but it’s absolutely on my list for next time — and yes, there will be a next time. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, nestled between mountains and near the quaint town of Deià. Whether you’re strolling through the gardens, lounging by the pool, or sipping wine while overlooking the olive groves, you’ll feel like you’re living in a dream. La Residencia is, without a doubt, the BEST hotel I’ve ever stayed at — a true gem where luxury, warmth, and soul all coexist. Can’t wait to return!
We had a flawless stay of 8 nights in LR, everything experience there is top rated. Our superior junior suite is perfect, decent space, comfortable bed. Housekeeping is very efficient and detail oriented. Turndown service with gift every night, it’s a little expectation for me every night :-) Tried all restaurants in the hotel, breakfast is always Belmond quality + Mallorca local ingredients, fresh & tasty; dinners during 8 nights we had once in El Olivo, 3 times in Tramuntana Grill, and twice room service. Plus the afternoon tea in Mirò and many drinks there, I have to say I love all food I had during these 8 days! I’m a person who enjoys the original taste of ingredients, and all restaurants in LR made me so satisfied. When room service, they always bring a flower, details always show in LR service. All staff are very kind, from restaurant to reception, concierge, hotel management, pool, SPA, everyone. Service is impeccable, the reason I choice Belmond is from my confidence to its perfect service in each hotel I stayed, and LR definitely makes it in the best way. GM Thomas I met him every morning during breakfast if he is in hotel, greeting and talking to his guests and listen to their feedback; we can also feel all staff passion on their work when we talk to them, they are professional & friendly, always smile - not simply in a working style, they are sincere. I believe by staff training efforts, LR guarantees they are give guests the top experience. Highlights and chapeau to all activities that LR arranges in daily basis, from complementary ones to customized ones, we joined some of them. Cocktails and arts I had the chance to talk with some hotel staff and management people, they are so kind and so proud of the hotel/ their work, we also purchased a paint!meet the donkey is such a relax and interesting one, very first time I touched a donkey; sunset cruise is definitely a masterpiece, I can’t believe this one even it’s complimentary; Hiking with GM is something you can’t miss, good way to explore the big area within hotel property but won’t see in your daily stay there. Also the one I joined, first light hiking, amazing, when Deià is quite and empty, when first light touch the sea the mountain and my face, it’s simply a blessing We also tried 3 treatments in the SPA, after spending some time at pool. Both facial and massage are professional and great. The jacuzzi and indoor pool area also an ideal choice if you would like to enjoy some quite moment, they’re less crowded than pool, usually. As a person who likes plan, very happy to receive email from concierge abt all my activities or bookings, special thanks to them for all supports on my requests. It’s an amazing hotel, and it’s a great team. I’m very sure I will come back, and highly recommended.
