Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Gateway Coonoor has an outstanding location, close to the town centre and the Nilgiri railway station. Our rooms had panoramic views of the hills around. The breakfast is extensive and delicious, one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had. The staff from the front office to the restaurant and housekeeping were all cheerful and helpful. The grounds are lush and beautiful with many seasonal flowers even in the rainy season.
There was nothing not to like!
The highlight of the property is the location. Pretty close to town .
Hygiene especially in bathroom towels could be improved.
Beautiful property, courteous staff, excellent food. Special mention of Jhilik and Animesh from the restaurant for their fantastic service.
Email and verbal communication with the office and front desk should be improved.
Our stay at Gateway Coonoor on 4th July to 6th July with my family was truly exceptional. The property is beautifully maintained, surrounded by lush greenery, and offers a peaceful atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxing holiday. Special thanks to Mr. Sathish (Front Office Manager) for his exceptional hospitality and outstanding service. He was extremely courteous, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. His dedication and genuine care made our stay even more comfortable and memorable. Every member of the staff Ms. Samiya (Associates), Ms. Theresa (Associates), Mr. Ajay (F & B Associates), Mr. Brito (F & B Associates) was warm, courteous, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their genuine care and prompt service made us feel at home throughout our stay. Mr. Ajay (Restaurant Manager) took personal attention throughout our stay. He ensured that every dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. A special appreciation to Chef Ramalingam for preparing delicious Jain food with great care and attention. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and thoughtfully prepared according to our dietary preferences. His dedication, kindness, and personal attention made our dining experience truly memorable. We would also like to sincerely appreciate the housekeeping associates, Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Peter, for keeping our room spotlessly clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. Their prompt service, attention to detail, and friendly attitude made us feel comfortable and cared for. A very special appreciation to Mr. Anand Krishnan, General Manager, who is an exceptional leader and a wonderful person. He handled every aspect of our stay with sincerity, professionalism, and genuine care. His ability to lead and keep the entire team motivated and working together seamlessly is truly commendable. His personal attention to every guest reflects his dedication to delivering the highest standards. We sincerely thank the entire Gateway Coonoor team for making our visit so memorable. We look forward to visiting again soon. A special note of gratitude to Mr. Karthikeyan Balaganesan, Area Director & Director of Sales and Marketing, for his constant support and guidance. He has always been incredibly helpful with our Taj hotel bookings and travel plans. He personally recommended that we visit Gateway Coonoor, assuring us that it would be a memorable experience and he was absolutely right.
Garden, Transport services
Price too high for the available facilities and amenities . Breakfast was just OK, could have been better
We stayed in Room 108 in June 2026, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. This is one of those rare properties where almost everything feels thoughtfully planned and flawlessly executed. In my opinion, it fully deserves a five-star rating. What impressed us most was the professionalism of the staff. Whether at the reception, restaurant, or housekeeping, every interaction reflected efficiency, competence, and genuine hospitality. The entire property operates like a perfectly synchronized machine—smooth, organized, and proactive. In fact, the team often seemed to identify and resolve potential issues before guests even became aware of them. A perfect example of this was our room allocation. The staff noticed that our initially assigned room was undergoing maintenance and did not yet have curtains installed, which would have allowed outside light to enter the room at night. Without us having to raise the issue, they immediately offered us a complimentary upgrade. Such attention to detail and guest comfort speaks volumes about the hotel's standards. Despite being housed in a heritage building that is over a century old, the property never feels dated. Thoughtful upgrades have been incorporated throughout to ensure modern comfort. The room featured numerous electrical outlets, including both Type-A and Type-C charging ports, which was a pleasant surprise. There were plenty of hangers, wardrobes, drawers, and storage spaces, making it easy to settle in comfortably. The room itself was enormous. Upon entering, there was a spacious foyer area with a large work table and chair, in addition to another seating arrangement inside the room. The attached bathroom was equally generous in size and featured both a bathtub and a separate shower area. The bathroom was particularly well-designed, with numerous hooks for hanging clothes and towels. Lighting throughout the room was excellent, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Complimentary drinking water, a kettle, and all essential toiletries were thoughtfully provided. The hotel does not have air conditioning, but during our stay, we never felt the need for it. We simply kept the windows open while leaving the mesh door closed, and the room maintained a perfectly comfortable temperature. We requested an additional blanket, which was promptly delivered. There was also a provision to light the in-room fireplace should guests require it during colder weather. Cleanliness throughout the property was outstanding. The room, common areas, gardens, and pathways were all impeccably maintained. Three sizes of towels—face, hand, and bath towels—were provided. While the towels and blankets were perfectly usable, they could perhaps benefit from a little extra laundering and refreshing. There was a minor issue with the Tata Play television channels in our room, but the matter was resolved promptly once we reported it. The grounds of the property are beautifully landscaped and deserve special mention. The stunning purple bougainvillea near the reception is undoubtedly one of the visual highlights of the hotel and creates a wonderful first impression. The gardens are immaculately maintained, with numerous pleasant spaces to relax and unwind. One of our favourite daily rituals was watching the hotel's resident ducks. Around 9:00 AM, five ducks would emerge and wander around the grounds, delighting guests with their adorable antics. We found ourselves looking forward to seeing them every morning after breakfast. The property also offers several recreational spaces. While there is no swimming pool, the activity room is well-equipped. A common bonfire is lit every evening at around 7:30 PM in a circular seating area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Families with children will appreciate the swings and slides located in the lower garden area near the Peony Restaurant. Beyond this section are the Presidential Villas, which feature their own private swings and bonfire areas. The reception building itself is beautifully designed. Several tastefully decorated waiting rooms are available for guests, and the collection of artefacts and decorative pieces throughout these spaces adds to the property's heritage charm. Guests interested in local attractions should note that the CSI All Saints Church is located right next door. Although there is no direct access from within the hotel grounds, it can easily be reached by walking out to the main road. The church building is generally open only on Sundays, but visitors can still explore the peaceful campus and its historic cemetery on other days. Our arrival experience was equally pleasant. We were welcomed with a traditional tika ceremony and a refreshing welcome drink. Check-in and check-out were both quick and efficient. Theresa, who assisted us upon arrival, was exceptionally professional and ensured everything was handled seamlessly. One point that may be useful for travellers arriving with chauffeurs or drivers: according to our driver, the hotel does not provide accommodation or meals for guests' drivers, so alternative arrangements may need to be made separately. Overall, this is a wonderfully maintained heritage property that successfully combines old-world charm with modern comforts. Between the exceptional service, beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, and meticulous attention to detail, it offers an experience that is difficult to fault and one that we would happily return to. I have posted a separate review for their in-house restaurant, Peony Restaurant - Gateway Coonoor. Peony Restaurant - Gateway Coonoor Breakfast was included as part of our stay, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the experience. The spread was extensive, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. What impressed us most was that the menu changed regularly, ensuring there was always something new to try. Every dish we sampled was well-prepared, flavourful, and enjoyable, making breakfast something we genuinely looked forward to each morning. We also had dinner at the restaurant on one evening during our stay. Unlike breakfast, dinner is served exclusively à la carte, as there is no buffet option available. A nice touch was the complimentary salad and papad served along with the meal. For our main course, we ordered the Nizami Handi (₹750) along with rotis (₹350 each). There is no denying that the pricing is on the expensive side, but the quality of the food more than justified it. The Nizami Handi was exceptionally rich, flavourful, and expertly prepared, while the rotis were fresh and perfectly cooked. Together, they made for a truly memorable meal. In fact, it was one of those dishes that stays in your memory long after the trip is over. If you are staying at the hotel, do remember to ask about the house guest discount, as resident guests are entitled to a 20% reduction on the restaurant bill. Overall, while dining here may not be inexpensive, the quality, taste, and consistency of the food make it well worth the indulgence.
Lovely property
We stayed at Gateway Coonoor for 3 nights and unfortunately the experience was far below what we expect from a Taj property. We had booked a Superior Double Room with breakfast and dinner included, but on the first day the staff kept denying that dinner was part of our package because it wasn’t reflecting in their system. After multiple calls with our travel agent, they finally allowed us to dine, but what was disappointing was the attitude — we were told they were “allowing” us to have dinner despite not finding the booking, as if they were doing us a favour. That is not the hospitality Taj is known for. We had also informed the property about our Jain food preferences 2 days before check-in, yet every meal felt like a struggle. Requests for simple Jain preparations were repeatedly called “short notice,” and there was clear miscommunication between the reception and kitchen staff. The rooms and overall property were also very average and nowhere close to the luxury standards or pricing associated with Taj. People choose Taj because of the trust and hospitality associated with the brand, especially at premium prices. Sadly, this experience did not justify the cost at all. If you are planning to spend a good amount of money expecting a luxury stay, I would strongly recommend looking at other options in the area.
Good
Beautiful property and very helpful staff. Location is close to attractions.
Beautiful property
We booked a deluxe room which is advertised on your web site as room with view of lush lawns and the nilgiris... the first room that was offered to us was one with no windows or ventilation very claustrophobic with no views. We were told the room size is bigger it is the same category etc. Since we refused that they immediately came up with one at the very back of the property... much better ventilation.. with windows but if you sit outside in the area designated for that room along with the noise of the duck and geese one hey the wonderful aroma of the composite bin behind a well as the the movement of the staff all through the night as their staff quarters was behind and the axcess door was by the side of this new room. Having stayed multiple times at this very location in almost all category of rooms available.. inclusing the current category we were very aware of what we were supposed to get to what we actually stayed in this time. The second issue we had this time was the bar and food. The cocktails ordered were mixed by someone with no knowledge of mixology... the mushroom ordered was old l and rubbery... Again Having stayed at this very property multiple times we could definitely see a drop on quality.. the staff were trying but one could see the lack of training very clearly.. and the icing on the cake of the very loud argument between two hotel managers on the lawns of the property ( which had all the guests in our side come out of their rooms) which indicated the extreme drop in professionalism. Along with dropping the Taj brand from the name the total experience level to has dropped to 3 star hotel level.
We had a wonderful stay in lovely Coonoor at the historic Gateway hotel. The rooms were so comfortable, the staff were excellent, the restaurant very good and there was even a small gym. The bonfires in the evening were lovely, as was just being in the beautiful garden an looking out at the views of the Nilgiris.
First, the very helpful and caring staff at every point of contact. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. One of the few hotel rooms where 2 bags can be opened and stored. The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. What lovely bougainvillea and jacaranda. The location is great.
The food is not the best although Chef Ramalingam was very obliging and made special items for us not on the menu.
Gorgeous and close to centre of town
No views of tea gardens. No windows in the sleeping area
Good Property
Monkey menace is terrible! They even get into the Restaurant and start taking the Food kept on the Table. This needs to be urgently addressed
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary on 21st April and chose this property as Taj loyalists of over 12 years. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of our most disappointing stays. Despite informing the hotel multiple times—during booking, prior communication, and again at check-in—our anniversary was completely overlooked. There was no acknowledgement at all, not even a simple wish, which was extremely disappointing for a special occasion. While the property itself is beautiful, with well-maintained gardens and a wide variety of flowers, the service fell far short. The staff was courteous but clearly inexperienced and overstretched—it was evident the hotel is understaffed, with the same team managing operations across meals. Food was average, and no effort was made to understand or accommodate preferences. In-room dining got our order wrong on multiple occasions. Overall, the experience lacked the warmth, personalization, and attention to detail that Taj is known for. We had originally planned to stay until 22nd April but chose to check out a day early on the 21st. Even during checkout, there was no attempt from the front office to understand why or address our concerns. The airport transfer arranged by the hotel was also concerning, with the driver driving rashly, making for an uncomfortable journey. The only bright spot was Surya from the restaurant team, who made a genuine effort to improve our experience by addressing feedback thoughtfully. Overall, while the property is visually appealing, the service and experience did not reflect Taj standards in any way. This was a special occasion for us, and it was disappointing to see it handled so poorly.
Beautiful lush green, quite n peaceful place, colonial architecture. Good ambience. Restaurant n lounge are welcoming, the staff is warm and friendly. Especially Jhilik would greet us every morning during breakfast and dinner with a warm smile and her service was impeccable, she took our special requests as well. We stayed for two days the rooms are clean well equipped. The recreational amenities for adults were not there they can have some activities n local crafts sessions.
This is the place to come if you want a relaxing break . Very unique property with unique rooms. Food is also good The team members are absolutely amazing Jhilik from the dining room was so wonderful and caring .She made us feel so welcome and comfortable during meal times . Britto along with the servers also took good care of us. Theresa from the front desk was super helpful, went out of her way to make us feel happy with her thoughtful gestures . She along with Jhilik made our vacation memorable!!
I would give 5/5 rating. Stayed here for a weekend in coonoor. The staff Leona theresa ,samiya ,kiran were incredibly friendly and welcoming from check-in to checkout. Nice heritage property well maintained
Mediocre Food. Their culinary skills need major overhaul
Cannot recommend this hotel and its staff highly enough. During our recent stay in India, my husband was unfortunately taken into hospital. The staff at the hotel were amazing. They took us to the hospital, quickest way of getting there. They remained unobtrusively in the background in case we needed any assistance with anything. My husband was admitted. The following morning, the hotel manager was at the hospital to assist. He brought us teabags, arranged food, water, towels, even loo roll as such things aren’t standard in Indian hospitals. His presence was greatly appreciated. Once my husband was discharged, we returned to the hotel for a couple of days rest before continuing our journey. It was like going home! We were able to relax in the beautiful grounds and in the comfort of our beautiful room. The staff were amazingly attentive and kind. I had the wonderful experience of having the best massage that I’ve ever had. We were sorry when the time came for us to leave. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are well equipped, there is everything you could possibly need. It is extremely well kept and amazingly clean. As mentioned the staff are brilliant, and went over and above to look after us.
"Had an amazing stay at Gateway,Coonoor !The hospitality was top-notch, and the staff were super friendly. The room was spacious and clean, with all the amenities I needed. Highly recommend it for a comfortable and relaxing stay! Extraordinary, courteous chef Mr.Ramalingam.. I never seen such a kind of personality.. We will visit again to Gateway because of him..
I seldom write rave reviews, but, this was an absolutely amazing stay. Just a day to celebrate a special friend's birthday and all I can say, the staff went out of their way to create such an experience . It had us thinking a revisit is a must, and am I just want to say an all inclusive, thank you and compliments, each touch point was brilliant! Thank You!
I stayed here as part of my Cox & Kings tour to Kerala. Lovely hotel and settling in a scenic part of the country. We had dinner twice and loved the restaurant and meal at a fair price. I must also congratulate and thank the front of house for helping me in a visit to the dentist.
good location
food
You will love this pictureque Hôtel perched on a hill with views over gorgeous gardens and local church. The gardens have a fire pit in the evenings, and ducks that roam the lawns during the day.
Amazing property, lovely ambience, impeccable service & great hospitality. We felt like VVIP guests & the staff were at our beck & call.Right since the time of check in Mr.Satish, the manager ensured he met all our requests & made us feel totally at home.During our entire stay,he went out of his way to take good care of my senior citizen mother, who has a vision problem & made her feel safe & gave her an amazing stay.Chef Ramalingam gave us a complete personalised service & cooked the best meals for us,keeping our taste buds in mind & we loved all his delicious food. The housekeeping manager Mr Rajkamal went out of his way to arrange for bath salt & tea which i really wanted & ensured all amenities were replenished from time to time & gave us a nice, clean, environment to stay.Ramesh,Anand,Animesh,Ms.Theresa all great workers & all in all,i couldn't have asked for more but have good memories of this wonderful stay.Kudos to the team!

Great place to stay for a night or two with family. The Entry to the hotel is difficult opening into the road. The Restaurant is average and does not offer local food. But the rooms and the service are fabulous.
Excellent facilities and extremely courteous staff . Food was amazing too
Our stay at Gateway, Coonoor was nothing short of magical, and it will remain one of our most cherished travel memories. Traveling with our 14-month-old son, comfort and care were extremely important to us—and the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel truly at home. A special mention to Samiya, Sailesh, Sanjeev, Ramalingam, and Theresa, whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our stay incredibly special. Their thoughtful gestures and constant readiness to help ensured that every moment was seamless and joyful. The ambience of the property is serene and soul-soothing, perfectly complemented by the breathtaking mountain-landscape that surrounds it. Every meal was a delight—the food was exceptional, comforting, and beautifully curated. Experiences like the church walkthrough and the bonfire set up right in our room added a unique charm and made our evenings truly memorable. From the smallest details to the overall experience, everything was simply superb. Gateway, Coonoor is not just a place to stay—it’s a place that stays with you. We will always look back at this trip with a smile and a full heart, and we can’t wait to return.
We had a wonderful relaxed stay at Taj Gateway Coonoor. The staff like always are friendly, warm, and welcoming. We love their hospitality. Theresea and Leona took good care, served us great food. Enjoyed the room stay, food, and spa services.
Extremely thankful to the Chef Ramalingham , Ms Seema, Mr Britto and all the staff in particular also the House keeping manager for making it possible for us to visit the 170 years old church.
amazing stay and wonderful hotel with most hospitable staff. Excellent activities and good spa and awesome regional food.
I have been visiting Coonoor for several years and have always chosen to stay at Taj Gateway, Coonoor. Mr. Satish, the Property Manager, and Mr. Ramalingam, the Chef, consistently give their very best to every guest. They treat guests like family and ensure a memorable and comfortable experience during every visit. Their personal care and hospitality make each stay truly special, and I always look forward to returning to this wonderful property.

We had a splendid stay at Gateway Conoor. The entire support staff esp. Ms. Leona of front office and Mr. Britto of F&B team were extremely courteous and friendly. An excellent property surrounded by an amazing garden. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Looking forward to certainly visit again.
Amazing property, staff (and service) and food. Reminded me of the days when my parents would bring me to the Taj Garden Retreat when I was studying in a boarding school in Ooty. Love the fact that Gateway has maintained the charm of the property whilst also refurbishing and updating the rooms. I will be coming back with my wife and child !
Wonderful and peaceful environment and very good hospitality by Theresa! Good food good ambience. Children friendly
The team were welcoming and they gave us guided tour with patience considering aged parents. Special thanks to Theresa and Leona
Great experience! Loved the stay! Leona and Samya were were accommodating and helpful. I celebrated my birthday and they provided the cake and bouquet!
It was a wonderful experience. Special mentions to Leona at reception desk, mr Anand in restaurant. Had an amazing experience at Gateway
Staying here the second time in 3 months, wonderful hospitality by Teresa , Peter & team. Cozy, scenic corners, vast buffet spread and sophisticated stay
Great hospitality and truly lovely food. The property is located in Upper Coonoor and is very easy to access. Despite being over 150 years old, the place is beautifully maintained with all the modern amenities. I especially appreciated being able to log in to my own OTT apps on the TV instead of relying only on cable channels. Really loved the well maintained lawns and gardens in the property. The breakfast buffet has a good spread, and the service is excellent. A special shout-out to Anand, Theresa, and Leona for their exceptional hospitality, they really made my stay comfortable and memorable!
From font desk check in to check out great experience. Theresa n Anandh were super helpful throughout the stay and catered to all our needs.
Beautiful heritage property, well kept with all modern amenities without sacrificing its heritage design and character. Extremely polite and attentive associates who are willing to stretch to delight. Well appointed large rooms with small living/guest area, big bed room, small dressing area and a clean bathroom. The land on which the property is situated is really beautiful, well keep and manicured lawns and a riot of colours with a multitude of flowering plants, trees and shrubs. A whole bunch of monkeys were running around and property and they had some squirrels and a lot of birds for company. Good restaurant and tasty food for the most part. Decent breakfast spread with a mix of traditional South Indian and British fare.
Nothing in particular.
Property needs a lot of refurbishment
It looks very old
Very good and relaxing experience. Theresa and Leona were very helpful and made the stay enjoyable. The hotel is extremely well maintained and has ample places for kids to play.
Thanks for the Naruto full experience - thanks yo Leona, Theresa and Samya for making out special day even extra special. Amazing food and amazing ambience
Great place for a comfortable and memorable stay if you are visiting Coonoor. Very beautifully maintained heritage property and a fabulous bunch of associates. All willing to go the extra mile to make your stay beautiful. Breakfast is a good mix of traditional South Indian and British fare. Beautifully maintained garden all around with an abundance of colours with all kinds of flowers. Do keep an eye out for the monkeys who might decide to visit you, if you leave the door open.
The rooms are not ready as per hour request. Even though we reached late at 10, which the Gateway was aware was the case, the night duty receptionist was not even aware about our reservation. The food in the restaurant was not at all up to Park.
Cozy and beautiful
Need more activity for children
Family of 4 of us started at Gateway. Drove down from Bangalore to Coonoor. You can expect a warm welcome from the gate to settling down at your room. Very nice and accommodative staff, thorough knowledge about the property, local area, weather conditions and always ready to help. We had a memorable stay at Gateway.
We had very plesent stay at Gateway coonoor. Everything about this resort is perfect. The place, food and hospitality are best we experienced in Niligiris. We stayed there for two nights and we had awsome experience. Initially while check in there was some confusion but the staff especially Mr. Evin sorted out everything. First we got a deluxe room. Though the room was very good, it was a connecting room. My young children were making some noise and it created little disturbance to guests in other room. So we requested the management for change . They immediately understood our situation and changed to suit room. Thanks to the entire staff for a memorable vacation.
Hotel is beautiful. Lot of space great views. The staff is very nice. I had some trouble on s trail. They came to fetch me, drove my car, and overall very nice. I left my specs behind and they couried it to me without fuss. Overall a very comforting and also lovely experience.
I had an amazing time at the Gateway Coonoor. The hospitality was top notch. The hotel is in the middle of the city but it's tucked away so you can't hear the hustle and bustle. It's beautifully peaceful and serene. Definitely must visit when in Coonoor.
We had a very pleasant stay at Gateway Coonoor. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome, everyone was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. The heritage hotel is very well maintained, our room was gorgeous and clean, and we enjoyed the different flowered gardens. The food was another highlight of our stay; every meal was delicious, the service was super quick, and our special requests were always accommodated with a lot of kindness. Special thanks to the f&b manager. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Gateway Coonoor.
My overall experience was great. A few things that can be looked at are entertainment system in the room weren’t the best specifically streaming services, nothing to complain other than that.
Its a lovely place and in restaurant akshat is awesome. And ambience is also amazing. All staff is very polite and having smile on face 24 hours.
I had such a lovely experience with my recent stay at Gateway Coonoor. The rooms are a blend of colonial charm and modern comforts. The campus (set against a church) is dotted with old trees, and is alive with the presence of local birds and even, a Malabar squirrel. And from the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with warmth and care. A special shout out for Mr. Evin, whose dedication to ensuring our comfort made all the difference to our experience. I look forward to visiting again!
Stay at Gateway was excellent. And lunch at Cafe Diem was memorable, thanks to Radhika Maam. One advice: avoid public holidays.
Hi, I’m Santosh. My brother Karthick stayed at Gateway Coonoor for his honeymoon, and the overall experience was truly wonderful. The property offered a comfortable and memorable stay, and the hospitality exceeded our expectations. A special word of thanks to Mr. Kamesh, Mr. Evin, and Ms. Theresa for their warm and thoughtful service, which made the celebration even more special. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again.
We traveled together as a couple and were visiting Coonoor for the first time. Booked this last minute for 4 nights and it was the best decision ever. Because it was off-season we were able to get a great rate and the Taj hospitality shone through. Special mention to Evin and every staff member, from front desk staff all the way to security staff were extremely welcoming, positive and warm to deal with. They all contributed to an incredible stay and were extremely helpful and accomodating. We also visited the spa and were extremely pleased with the services. We spotted ducks who wander about, experienced a bonfire, the room we were in even had a fireplace, we went for a nature walk (guided by Evin) and spotted a bison in natural habitat. Highly highly recommend this property and we can't wait to go back ❤️
Excellent service had a great time with my family, hotel arranged local tour to tribal village which is amazing. Thank you 😊
A wonderful property, beautifully maintained, managed with lot of care with loads of smiles, a welcoming and efficient check-in by Sanjeev, a smiling and respectful staff all across the property (Peter and all), great food ( head chief and team to be complimented), served with personal care and attention by Anand and team, went a great way in our great experience, while we were here.
had a fabulous holiday at Taj Getaway, Coonoor made more memorable by the very efficient service and warmth extended by its staff, ably led by the General Manager.
Wonderful stay for a week. The staff, food, rooms were amazing. Special shout out to our guide cum driver Prakasham who took us for some spectacular hikes. Offered the best of Indian hospitality.
The staff and the property are just awesome. All of them are so smiling and courteous all the time. They really strive to make your stay memorable
It was one of the most beautiful properties I've visited in India, and in the most beautiful location with amazing, and welcoming locals. The property also had a fascinating history, and peaceful atmosphere. I visited during the week and therefore, it was a bit more empty, but the staff was still fully staffed and giving full services. It felt so personal, and a more than a 5-star experience. I was so inspired, I made a painting of the hotel's garden area, and the little ducks that roam - freely around the area. Oh, and cute monkeys around the location :) Made the experience even better.
I could find nothing to dislike. It was the most amazing experience.
It was a delightful experience! Gateway Coonoor is a wonderful property with a small no of rooms but the team is big at heart and their personalised attention ensured that we were pampered in every way, during our stay. The lush green surroundings with wonderful views of the hills, mist and clouds were serene and dreamy. The convenient location of the hotel further ensured that shopping and sightseeing was all, close at hand. Overall, an awesome experience!
Good Expereience. Staff was courteous. Service was good. The location of the property is awesome. Well maintained. highly reocommend
