Good
Palma is lovely.
Decent modern city center hotel.
Great views.
If I was to rate the location, i would give it a 5. As and overall is a 3. Main reason is that rooms need MAJOR updating. The corridors are dark. Depending on what floor you are on, it can feel like you are in a dungeon. As a first time visitor, it's hard to find the parking lot. The directions given by the front desk, was cofusing. I drove around for 15 minutes before I called for help. Maybe the hotel should offer valet service or even bell service. Hotel has lots of potential but needs major investment to make itn a 5.
Great hotel
The staff were very unhelpful. Check in took over and hour due to short staffing. We had to wait over an hour for lunch. They forgot our order and then had to reissue it. The staff were rude and surly. Air conditioning in our room didn’t work on the first night. Couldn’t gain entry to the poll due to the sheer number of people in it and a massive volleyball game taking place. Really not the level of service expected from a Melia hotel. Especially at the Level standard.
Clean property. Rooms have good space. Breakfast was wonderful although some waitstaff gets anxious and snappy at the busiest time around 9. Pool is small and gets over crowded, ppl literally start reserving chairs at 0730 which is ridiculous. App says gym is open 24/7 but not true. Front desk will tell you it opens at 0700 and both times I went, I had to get them to open (after 0700). Location is perfect and safe. Nice little bars around.
Enjoyed a lovely 4 nights here with friends last week. A couple of issues with the sliding doors not locking in one of the rooms when we arrived and the air con not working in another, but both were resolved quickly. Common areas of the hotel are beautiful, with plenty of room around the pool even at the height of the season. The rooms themselves are a little dated, with some plug sockets not working. Bathrooms are not private at all! We hesitated before booking here because of that but thought they can’t be that bad, but they are, it would likely put me off staying again. One bed was more or less up against the glass partition to the shower area, with a voile curtain covering the shower (from the outside!)
Hotel was fantastic, a short taxi ride or 30 min walk to the centre. Breakfast was a wide range of options, although I probably wouldn’t do half board again as the evening meal menu was quite limited. Whilst the food was good, across 3 nights I had the same meal twice due to the reduced options for half board guests. Pool area was great except the life guard was more interested in reserved beds than saving lives. I had put our towels out and then went to sit at the poolside lunch area and the lifeguard removed our towels because we hadn’t left any personal belongings in them. I could understand if we had reserved them and left the hotel but we were sat a few yards away in the eating area! The back street mentioned in other reviews for noise, wasn’t too bad but there are a number of bars/clubs lining the back street so could be seasonal? Although the maids were vacuuming outside the door every day pre 9am which I think is not acceptable when people are on holiday resting. Would definitely use the hotel again
Didn’t appreciate the staff’sattitude towards me about the parking. When I arrived, I did not receive any information about parking. I asked the gentleman who checked me in (who was very nice and pleasant) about the parking spot because it was numbered. He told me where I parked was fine. The next day when leaving I had a notice in my car windshield that I shouldn’t park where I was and it was for guest only. I went back to the front desk and inquired since I didn’t want my car to be towed. A young lady helped me and the gentleman next to her overheard our conversation and he quizzed me on the legitimacy of my claim. Stating someone should’ve gave you a parking map and how did I know to get to the parking garage with checking in. It was very unprofessional and I explained that not only was I allowed to the enter the garage, I rang a doorbell and the staff let me in and my friends and I had to navigate our way through the hotel to get to the front desk. He was upset and spoke something very passionate in Spanish and told me that there were any vacant parking and it was fully booked. I asked where to park and they agreed to give me spot 19 on the -3 floor.
Melia Marina Hotel was wonderful location is a great walkable distance to Palma old town. Hotel was great I’ve stayed there a few times never fails to provide excellent service. Thamks
Great location (20 minute safe walk into the center), large food portions for lunch and lovely outdoor pool. Service a little slow at the pool bar but apart from that great service from the front desk etc. We are looking to come back next year as we had a great first experience saying here and first experience with the Melia brand. We will be recommending this to friends and family.
Excellent service and facilities. The pool has a fantastic view, rooms are a very good size and all of them have a balcony. Breakfast is worth the extra charge. Would highly recommend.
Great location, lovely poolside area. Service could sometimes be a bit slow when ordering food and drinks, not sure if the staff were prepared for how busy it was being the first week of June. Room was good, we upgraded to premium sea view. One big problem for us is the size of the bed. Advertised as a king size, this was not a king size bed. My partner is 6ft4 and we deliberately stay places where they offer a king size bed. This was not one and made sleeping more uncomfortable for us both. All other amenities in the room were fine, liked the use of ritual products. Cleaning staff were very polite and did a great job through the week. We didn’t have breakfast included but added it on, inconsistency of pricing when we did this. One day was 18 euro another day it was 22, offer was overall good. Gluten free products which was great but didn’t then offer gluten free alternatives to the poolside menu. Location is fantastic if you know the area you can easily walk to lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Ordering taxis is difficult due to the one way road but if you’re willing to walk it’s no problem. Tiny shop downstairs which is great for buying cheaper bottles of water or snacks. Would like the option to maybe buy books somewhere in the hotel? Seemed to be a shop in the foyer but didn’t see it open. Didn’t like on the last day there was a conference that was placed right outside of the pool area, so when you needed the toilet you had to talk through them all.
Beautiful clean hotel with spacious rooms, big beds, great showers and friendly staff. Rituals bathroom products- how special ! Lovely views over the marina and a pool with lots of sunbeds. We were spoiled for choice at breakfast. It filled us for a good part of the day. We like to walk so walking to the cathedral and old town etc for dinner and sights was lovely. Bike hire close by is recommended. Great day out. Soller train and tram recommended. The reception ordered us taxis when required. Much cheaper than uber. Staff were so friendly and we were lucky to be allowed a late checkout. Take earplugs for sleeping unless you are out nightclubbing and don’t need them. Fantastic hotel.
The hotel was perfectly situated for a short break. The room was lovely and clean and the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful.
I love the unique set up of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was trying to watch the television. There was no channel that was in English or even had English subtitle which would allow me to understand what was being said. I was unable to understand and fully enjoy that aspect of my visit.
Beds were not very comfortable, room smelt like the bathroom. Heating and Air conditioning run separately and switched by management. Arrived on a hot day in beginning of April and asked to ensure the room had air conditioning. The associate said the air conditioning is not on, still in heat mode, and maybe the air conditioning would be available the next day, but they were unsure. The team did procure a fan for the room to help mitigate the issue. But be weary the air conditioning does not work year round, and is seasonal like the pool.
Needs to be updated. A/C is off some times in the year.
Clean friendly good breakfast nice bar area
Great property
Nice hotel with a great view of the marina, close to bars and restaurants, around a 30 minute walk to the centre
There is no swimming pool access! We booked this because of the pool but the outdoor one was closed and the indoor one is not run by the hotel. Our room was also right next to a building site so was very noisy. We were not warned about this
This hotel was all around, very good.
Empleados atentos
As described. This is a huge hotel, whilst it’s great it was a bit too busy for me at check out and breakfast.
Great for acity break. We stayed as part of a wedding party so the generous public areas were good. Great Seaview room, large bed, better than normal hotel hairdryer and good quality toiletries. We liked the bar service was good. Only thing i would chsnge is the pool area. Sunbeds too close together they need space between guest parties felt like strangers too close. Consider swapping some for more chairs and tables. Good quality hotel though, convenient for the marina and easy walk to the cathedral or castle.
Great location, and overall a lovely hotel. Service could be better
Fantastic overall experience, amazing hotel and view from our balcony, we will be back for sure.
Nice hotel and friendly staff. Lovely big room with views of the marina but was a little tired though and could benefit from some updating. The breakfast was quite extensive and fab facilities including yoga and massages by the pool. However the roadworks outside the hotel currently made access a little difficult and unfortunately being at the front/ overlooking the Marina was a little noisy at night with late night socialising and cruise ships horns.
We got premium room with a balcony overlooking the marina, was great!! Pool was really nice!! Does get full pretty quickly so got to be there 10ish to secure spot! Also because cocktail are getting made sometime the line was a little long. Rooms very clean, paid $500aud per night, think it was fair value for money, 10min walk into more city centre, has a mini mart right outside so very handy if you need to pop down and get anything, stayed 5 nights and was great to set up there and unpack luggage and enjoy Palma
I was very worried after booking this hotel due to the negative reviews but overall, I had a good time at this hotel. By the time we arrived in middle of August the road work that was blocking cars from entering the hotel driveway had concluded. The lobby is nice and didn't encounter any issues with staff or at reception. They were very nice and helpful. The pool area was nice. Didn’t experience any issues getting a chair. The breakfast was good & didn’t find the food going bad like some reviews mentioned. I did find it a little expensive for $25 per day. However, the hotel rooms do require heavy upgrading. The room I was given, did see better days, definitely not a 4 stars. My room had water leakage from the AC and you can clearly see the walls coming apart from the water, the door to the main room didn’t even close due to the molding losing its shape due to the water issue. The carpet in the hallway have seen better days. The walls are dirty. Since I was in a high floor, I didn’t experience any issues with noise that some people complained. Outside the hotel, well it’s not ideal. Some of the restaurants and bars nearby are not the best. Yes there is a strip club right next to the hotel that opens after 12 midnight, so you don’t see the questionable people unless you are around very late in the lobby. Parking, I didn’t experience any issues finding parking outside. I actually saved money not doing the hotel parking fee by just parking on the streets.
Didnt like that the coffee/tea wasnt replacement daily. I need coffee!! But everything else room, staff ,location were excellent, not a single fault to be found. Will be returning
Great property
Stunning hotel, great staff.
Great price great stay
Property is very tired. Lounge level is ok tho They misplaced my medication ice packs and failed to give me my cold picnic as promised for my ferry trip to Ibiza when I checked out at 6:00 am.
Road Works out front of Hotel. Cannot get to front of hotel. Could not unload suitcases. Hotel has No Porters , no Concierge . It is NOT 4 Star hotel. The front entrance looks good but the bedrooms are 2 star, cheap furniture sadly cheap stuff. Parking Garage is a disaster to find in the backstreets under another building. Badly lit and no signage. You have find the lowest level and walk up- lifts are not operating then go through passageways to the hotel.
Really good hotel would recommend.
Great location! Walking distance to Palma Old Town. In front of the Marina..a beautiful walk in the morning. Hotel was clean and all amenities worked properly! Only stayed for one night but would definitely return
Very clear and good location
Very clear and good location
Being that we booked this hotel for our wedding weekend, it was extremely disappointing that we booked a premium room just to check in and find the main floor was dirty and extremely dusty, old garbage was still left in the room, the shower was dirty and had soap scum marks, and though I appreciate the gesture of champagne, the glasses they served were dirty.
convenient for cruise terminals and city siteseeing
The city of Palma is redoing the street in front of the hotel and there is no signage as to how you access the property. Not very good signage oe There is a disco right below on the ground floor that goes until 6 in the morning.
Check in process easy. Love my view. Wish the air conditioning was better. Other than that I would stay here again.
Nice hotel overlooking Palma Marina. My sea-view room had a spectacular view across the bay to the Cathedral with stunning sunrises. The breakfast buffet was extensive and good quality. The service was ok, but too formal, especially at reception. The one exception was the barman, Eduardo I think his name was, for whom nothing was too much trouble and managed to make you feel special. The rooms themselves are ok, but showing their age and the mattress on my bed was very uncomfortable - very firm, with the springs poking through. Overall a pleasant stay but not quite up to the standard I was expecting.
Very nice,
One of my criteria in booking this location was onsite parking. When I arrived all the construction meant that the parking situation was a find one if you can scenario. The beds were also very uncomfortable.
Firstly the following does not reflect the front staff. Arrived to find the front entrance under construction and no area to park to check in, no instructions to the parking garage which was located behind the building and had to travel many blocks to find it. Had to carry my own bags up 3 flights of stairs as no elevator in garage and no where to park in front of hotel to unload the bags. Next the bed in our room was on an old cheap spring frame (not a box sping matress) that would squeak very loudly when you moved. Not what was expected at a Meila propery( maybe at a cheap 1 star property.) Went front desk to try and get a room with a proper box sping matress to be able to get a decent nights rest, only option was to upgrade our room at our expense of and addional 50 euros per night. The front staff tried their best to help us out. These failures fall on the hotel management and Melia.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, unfortunately work was being done outside!..... These things have to be done and I'm sure it will all be lovely when finished.
Great staff great hotel.. Going back again!!!
Very impressed with this hotel on every level. Lovely staff, classy decor, fantastic breakfast and comfy room with all amenities. Will definitely be making a return visit.
We have stayed here before and really enjoyed our time. This time however there was construction work all around the hotel, from outside the hotel to the balcony from our room.
Not as nice as on the pictures. Pool smaller than it actually is
Check in was stressful - after a long overnight flight, I was jet-lagged and groggy. I couldnt find my reservation number and they wouldn't let me check in without it. I have copies of emails with the hotel and my name and credit card number from booking but they wouldn't 'find' the reservation. After about an hour of frustration and stress they finally managed to check us in. The room was nice, relatively clean and comfortable (paint could use refreshing and carpets needed cleaning) but had a great view. Ultimately it was a good stay, but that checking in was pretty awful, and Palma is FULL of construction right now which takes some of the fun out of it, too.
We stayed on the level which was well worth the extra cost. Friendly staff throughout and our room was very comfortable. The only downside was that we had a sea facing/side corner room from which we had a lovely view but the noise during the night was horrendous. There are nightclubs and bars behind the hotel and every morning at around 3-4am when people left the clubs there was a lot of shouting from loud jovial revellers. Not blaming the younger generation they were obviously having a good time, we did the same in our younger days. Then to cap it all on the last night the rubbish lorry collected in the very early hours with its reversing siren at full blast. This is our only criticism which I think would not have disturbed us quite so much had there been better quality patio doors and windows which might have had some noise cancelling effect. There is major road works going on in front of the hotel all the way along the marina which although not nice to look at didn’t spoil the holiday. Once you cross the road, which is a major feat, it is a beautiful walk on the other side but beware it is over a mile to the centre of Palma which is not suitable for everyone. All in all we would recommend this hotel but avoid room 618 if you want a peaceful nights sleep.
The hotel was lovely , the reception area layout was a little confusing and difficult to navigate area
A lot of construction going on in the area, the rooms look cheaply updated, and it was noisy at nights. The rooms are NOT soundproof recommend eat plugs. The rooms weren’t the cleanliness the first time the cleaners came through there was a pair of underwear found and put on the bed that were not ours. Which is disgusting. Wasn’t a terrible stay but not worth the price.
The reception team especially the man on duty on the 7th September evening were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel in great location within half an hour's walk of the cathedral. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with views of the marina from our balcony. Relaxing pool area with a lively bar serving drinks all day. Lots of choice at the breakfast buffet and a couple of places close by to have breakfast out. Bit of a shame about the extensive road works going on but it should improve the area once finished. Friendly and helpful staff and overall good value for money.
This hotel is under construction and is very loud in the morning and dusty also they don’t have any parking around
Todo fue correcto, desde el servicio en recepción, limpueza y comodidad de la habitación y toda la relación con todos los miembros de servicio con quien tuvimos contacto
Nice Hotel - wrong time to visit. There is lots of work going on to improve the promenade so access is a challenge and many local businesses are shut. We had issues with the initial room allocation but these were swiftly resolved. We also had a poor experience with one meal which was undercooked, returned, they reheated it & tried to return it! We escalated this and food & drinks were eventually fully refunded. Overall though, a nice hotel and once Palma front is completed, I'm sure it'll be a great place to stay.
The hotel is not well positioned for a young family - there is far too much noise generated from the bars and clubs surrounding the hotel. Despite repeated requests this was not resolved to our satisfaction.
Good stay in Mallorca
The property is OK. The staff are OK. OK shouldn’t be any hotels’ measure of success. So the area is going through huge transformation, the entire waterfront road is under construction which isn’t the hotels fault (but would have been good to know in advance - that’s on you, Expedia) and the “City view” rooms should read “Construction views with early start audio soundtrack” Breakfast was more than adequate and a sensible “no reserving sun beds” provided a modicum of pool side chill. On the downside, there was rotten wood in both the bathrooms, the patio doors would be more soundproof if they were made of cheese cloth and the rest of the staff looked dead behind the eyes in a “for the love of God how long it it until the season ends” kind of way. FairPlay to them, they were all perfectly OK. There’s that OK again. After trying for 24 hours to try and arrange something to recognise my middle daughter’s birthday- the “experience manager” did get a note and bit of cake into her room on the last night, which we were grateful for. All in all it was OK. The construction wasn’t their fault. The rooms were tiny, with bad soundproofing and rotten wood in parts. It was a solid OK. Would not return though, OK?
The locals like to hang around the front and sides of the property at 3-6am and have no regard for guests of the hotel. Same with the inabilty or security to actually do anything about it, this place is a joke!
Air conditioning was terrible. Old and out of date units. Made the rooms and changing rooms in Spa unbearable.
We stayed at the hotel for five days and enjoyed every moment. The staff were happy and friendly. The food (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) were of a high standard. I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Level - its well worth it!
Clean tidy, good size room, good facilties
It was convenient to be close to the ferry and the staff was nice. The breakfast was very expensive and the pool very crowded. But overall the room was comfortable and it was a good stay for a night.
Once the road work in front of the hotel is done it will be the ideal location to visit Palma
Hotel is unreal stunning. It's pristine, beautiful, modern, I cannot fault the place. The standard room was more than big enough and comfy! The pool side and pool bar were a dream!
Lovely hotel, better for adults than with children. 25min walk to Palma town. Loads of roadworks going on for the next couple of years right outside the hotel.
Excellent hotel next to the marina and plenty of fun things to do in the area.
Nice stay, centric hotel with pleasing staff. Rooms are a little smaller than desire. Breakfast was good. The only inconvenient was that there is a lot of construction outside the hotel.
Absolutely lovely hotel. Great location and will definitely be back.
Lovely location, nice pool area with views toward cathedral over marina, spacious room
The hotel facilities, cleanliness and staff were excellent. The view from the front of the port is outstanding. Although there are extensive roadworks along the front, the spuds are shielded by the elevation of the hotel above ground level.
Love everything about this hotel, stayed many times. The location is great as is the new refurb (esp the pool). The room had everything we needed, very clean and comfortable bed& great balcony. Staff were nice and loved the food!
Wonderful stay. The hotel was beautiful. We upgraded to the level which was so worth it. Will definitely be back.
Extremely helpful check in and very friendly! Allowed us to check in early, organised a taxi for our early flight and give us very nice picnic bags for our onward journey.
Lights on balcony not working . No robes in room . Toilet door was extremely noisy . Pool bar closed during break . No fan in bathroom . Shower floor very shabby .
Very nice, clean and good service
Receptionist at check-in went above and beyond, very helpful. A bottle of cava in an ice bucket was left on the room to celebrate my partner's birthday. Would highly recomend this hotel for both customer service and location. 10 out of 10.
Location is perfect close to everything you want to see
The hotel had a shortage of umbrellas for guests at the pool, there was a lack of poolside waiting staff, some members of staff seemed happy to serve you while others seemed very unhappy. The breakfast was average. The room itself was good and the fridge in the room was an excellent size. The room was modern and the bathroom facilities were also modern and had lots of storage space for clothing. There was plenty of space in the room for a family of four and the BEDS were EXTREMELY comfortable— all of our party agreed. This is not a hotel for children though. Indeed, we regretted staying in Palma and wished we had stayed at a resort outside of Palma. The cleaning of the room was not as busy high a standard as we’ve seen in many other hotels. The cups were infrequently washed, the coffee and tea supplies were not topped up and the toiletries were not topped up. I did appreciate that this hotel did not use small plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner etc as I like to be eco-friendly and reduce my use of plastic. I would have greatly appreciated it if the staff at reception could have asked me about whether or not I was enjoying my stay. This was never asked.
Excellent hotel at the marina
Stayed here for a wedding the reception is beautiful but found bedrooms quite basic but bathrooms were lovely. I would say staff were not as friendly as other places I have stayed and was hard work to get through to reception.
Fantastic can’t fault anything
Good hotel
Great location, clean spacious room with amazing views. Spa not really open yet.
Loved it. Stayed at this hotel before and always had a good time. Thanks again!
The hotel was immaculate. The amenities were numerous and upscale.
Nice hotel. Not cheap. Get a room with a view for the extra 15% it costs. Classic rooms have awful view of a dirty side road. Location is quite far walk from the old town.
Everything is really nice .. My room was side view Before check out I called receptionist to ask for a chance to see the sea view room and take a picture from the balcony he replied in a bad way no no sorry we are fully booked.. and hanged up the line . But I did it by other way will not say details Conclusion, is He wasn’t right and what I asked was possible ..
Pool
Beautiful hotel - friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous pool area and nice rooms. The amenities in the room were sparse, but presume that may be covid related. And the important things like toiletries and water were covered, so no problem. Balcony was pretty small but we just had a standard room so that wasn’t really surprising. Great location too with lovely views of the marina and a 20min walk to the old town. Would definitely stay again.
