Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Cannot say enough about staying at this wonderful facility where you’re treated like family. Not only have we rebooked each year since our first trip there in 2024 but we have encouraged friends and family to do likewise. In 2027 we will have six family members and two dear friends staying at same time. The staff are caring and thoughtful, the property spotless, the balcony views spectacular, in the midst of the life of the Gap.
The Yellow Bird property was amazing — perfect location, I felt completely safe, and the nightlife was close enough to walk to without any hassle. It made the whole stay easy and enjoyable.
The building is a little dated, but with renovations starting in just a couple of weeks, there’s really nothing negative I can say about the property. It still delivered a comfortable, enjoyable stay from start to finish.
Yellowbird Hotel didn’t just give us a place to stay — they gave us a place to belong. What began as genuine hospitality quickly grew into friendship, and before long, it blossomed into FAMILY. 💛🐦 Every single person at Yellowbird pours heart, soul, and joy into what they do, and it shows in every moment, every smile, every detail. Yellowbird isn’t just a hotel — it’s a home away from home. A place where you’re welcomed with open arms, remembered by name, and treated like family from the moment you arrive. If you’re coming to Barbados, trust me… Yellowbird Hotel is where your heart will find a home. 💛🇧🇧✨
The staff was so friendly! Some are now new friends! The location is great and the hotel was clean. The rooms are also clean and nice!
Nothing that I can think of.
Very clean, great location and the staff were so friendly. I really enjoyed my stay there.
No elevator. Keep that in mind if you rent the top floor.
You can’t fault this hotel it’s lovely. The views are amazing and something I will remember forever. The staff are all great and so friendly . Tip I’d ask for a room on level 2 or 3 so that you can watch the views . Although at night we could hear noise from nearby bars it didn’t affect our sleep. Rooms are immaculate.
I must say I already reviewed this place but I was reading someone else’s review and saying they don’t take US dollars they do take US dollars theydo take tips they do take credit cards. They do take barbados money which is really the most important part because I feel like as an islander it would be hard for them to go to the bank to cash it if it’s a US dollar it’s better to get for barbados money or use your credit card but this place is amazing for someone to say they don’t take it. They really do take it. This place is outstanding.
Wonderful central location to get to restaurants, bars, and beaches in the more active part of the island. The entire staff at the Yellow Bird Hotel was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The restaurant is reasonably priced and offers a great breakfast and lunch. The pool is beautiful. Our room was clean and spacious offering full refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes and utensils. The Yellow Bird is quite a value for the accommodations provided. We stayed on the 3rd floor directly above the restaurant and bar and had no noise issues what so ever. Will definitely stay here again. The Yellow Bird Front Desk Staff deserves a shout out (Mario afternoons & evenings and a wonderful woman who works in the mornings). They act like a personal concierge if you ask them. They will book transportation, give information on buses, beaches, restaurants, and any requests you have. Highly recommended!
We’ve just come back from a stay at Yellowbird Hotel and, honestly, it exceeded our expectations in every way. What really made the experience stand out was the people. The bartenders were brilliant — friendly, attentive, and always happy to chat or recommend something new. The reception team were equally fantastic: welcoming, efficient, and incredibly helpful whenever we needed anything. Whether it was arranging excursions or giving local tips, nothing was ever too much trouble. The housekeeping team also deserves a special mention — the rooms were spotless every day, with fresh towels and everything kept to a really high standard. The facilities themselves were excellent. Having a kitchenette made a big difference for flexibility, the air conditioning worked perfectly (a must in the heat), and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. Everything felt well thought-out and cared for. The view was another highlight — waking up to that outlook every day never got old. And the location is hard to beat. Being right on St. Lawrence Gap means you’re in the heart of everything: restaurants, bars, and a lively atmosphere just steps away. In terms of value, we were genuinely impressed. For what you get — the service, the facilities, the location — it felt like exceptional value for money. The only thing worth noting (and this is more of an observation than a negative) is that the hotel is right on the Gap, which is one of the most vibrant and lively areas. If you’re particularly sensitive to noise, it’s something to be aware of. That said, it’s exactly what you’d expect from such a prime location, and for us, it added to the overall experience rather than detracted from it. Overall, we’ve been incredibly happy with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended.
Great location. Very clean. Professional staff. Would recommend.
The staff were very friendly hotel was super clean and in a great location
Nothing!
Spacious rooms with lovely terrace. Fabulous sunset view. Good drinks and food. People were helpful and gave good advice. Short walk to 2 lovely beaches.
Very loud at night, but then it's the Gap! You have to know it is going to be loud. We had our own dance party on the terrace.
It is a true botique hotel even though that isn't in the adverts. A great sea view over the pool with a kitchenette and a very fairly priced dining area checks off all the boxes for me. One caveate is their is no elevator so if stairs aren't your friend ask for a ground floor room. We had a top floor and a helpful guy carried our luggage. There is a mini-mart nearby if you want to take advantage of the fridge and stove. Coffe maker in the room was great.
A perfect location opposite a small bay with wonderful sea views and well equipped rooms kept exceptionally clean. What makes this hotel really special though is the staff in all roles who genuinely enjoy interacting with people to make it a pleasant stay. The hotel is so friendly and welcoming and they encourage all the guests to interact with each other too especially at the weekly rum party making for a wonderful atmosphere. It is why we keep returning year on year and long may it continue.
Stayed here for 2 weeks in January, brilliant location with spectacular views from the balcony. Spacious room , comfortable bed, lovely walk in shower, spotlessly clean. Never had a problem getting a subbed, had a breakfast and evening meal there overlooking the pool, great food and the staff were lovely, helpfull and friendly, wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
It's a perfect location and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable.
The pool area was a bit small / there were limited loungers around the pool (and some residents left their towels on them even when they weren't there). The restaurant was a bit limited in terms of options (and we don't eat meat, so it was even more limited)
2nd visit, just as good. Top floor excellent views across st Lawrence bay so chilled to relax and have a few rums and a game of dominoes. The rooms are spotless and spacious and you get your steps in as there is no lift lol. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always willing to help. The restaurant food is tasty and drinks refreshing. Love the swimming pool and always managed to get beds. Another wonderful stay and would highly recommend.
What an amazing experience. The best location for dining and transportation. The best views by far. The very Best staff. I had an incredible time and will book here again and again. Thank you all!
Our second time staying here, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We absolutely love this hotel, especially the spectacular ocean view from our balcony. The Bajan warmth and hospitality are truly unmatched. Service is impeccable, always delivered with genuine smiles and care. It was a special birthday for my husband, and the team went above and beyond to make it extra special, something we’ll never forget. We were genuinely sad to leave. We’ll definitely be back in January 2028 for a longer stay. A special thank you to Michelle, Monique, Sonia, and Shanice you made our stay even more memorable. Love, Leesa & Dave Room 305 xx
What a great hotel. The employees are so friendly. We also enjoyed the restaurant. It is expensive but so is everything in Barbados. Thank you for the great holiday!!
All good
location excellent walking distance to local bars and restaurants. the room was spacious and the small kitchenette was good. the view lovey overlooking the Caribbean sea.
nothing
Very comfortable room with plenty of space and a great balcony with views over the sea and all the street life below. The pool is lovely. There are good beaches within 10 minutes walk and lots of bars and restaurants. The local buses along the coast into Bridgetown run every few minutes and the bus stop is 30 seconds away.
It is in a very lively area which is great but it also means it can be noisy. On Fridays and Saturdays local bars may stay open until 2.30am.
Location was amazing. Staff were super helpful.
No elevator. Noise from the club next door.
Our recent trip to Barbados ended with flight disruption for our return to the U.S. Yellowbird to the rescue! We booked 3 nights here and the accomodations were just lovely. Our room was more than we could have hoped for and included a complete kitchenette. Super comfortable bed and lovely balcony with a great seaview added to the charm. The staff was lovely and made us feel right at home. And the restaurant served the best fishcakes!!!
We only stayed for 2 nights as we were in transit to a cruise ship On arrival the Checkin staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and made us feel so welcome We stayed in Rm102, which exceeded our expectations There was a kitchen area, spacious bed area opening onto a lovely balcony which gave immediate access to a small garden and pool area looking over the ocean very tranquil. The bed was very comfortable which is always a plus. We went to the bar/restaurant and just had drinks which included a welcome cocktail. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The location is great just at the start of the gap with plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance as was the beach. The pool is not very big but adequate with beds. Only there for 36 hours but had a great time and would definitely recommend a visit
Property had strengths and weaknesses however was decent overall. The room was spacious and clean. The bed could have more comfortable, wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible either. Conveniently located near many restaurants. My greatest beef, and it goes for everywhere I went in Barbados, was the lack of a decent cappuccino. Almost nobody has an espresso machine, so that is the first thing I’d advise the owner to invest in. Keep coffee achievers like myself happy, I know I’m not alone in my addiction.
Close to bars restaurants on St Lawrence’s gap. Also close to Dover & Worthing Beaches. Great view over the bay. Staff were really nice and helpful.
The Dive (bar next door) plays loud music every night until around 3am. Not a major problem but something to be aware of.
Great place to stay and explore Barbados. All of the staff from the cleaner to the bar manger are amazing. Some of the nicest people you will ever meet. View from the room was beautiful, food was nice. But it's the people that work there that will make us go back. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
We stayed in this hotel from the 24th November until the 4th December 2025 It is literally THE BEST hotel The staff are absolutely wonderful - so lovely and incredibly helpful (ALL OF THEM) The food is delicious and the strawberry daiquiri from the bar was the best that I had (and I tried quite a few) The views from the rooms are spectacular and the hotel is in a great location right at the beginning of St Lawrence Gap We cannot wait to return! If you are considering booking this hotel... Go for it!
What a gem of a hotel. Rooms all with seaview ,clean and comfortable. Staff make you feel so welcome and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Great onsite restaurant giving you a typical bajan experience. Every member of staff from housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant and bar deserve a mention. Small inviting pool with sunbeds—-never a problem getting one. Great location at end of st.Lawrence gap, a 5 minute walk to Worthing beach. Dover beach in opposite direction. There was some noise from revellers at nearby local bars, but that did not spoil our holiday. We arrived as tourists and left as family. Not the cheapest hotel around, but worth that little bit extra. We will be back.
Beautiful view from the room, straight across from the ocean. Large bedrooms each with their own bathroom. In the heart of St Lawrence Gap. Easily accessible to the bus routes and restaurants. Staff were great; very helpful.
The 2 bed apartment was located next to the nightclub (the Dive) which pumped out loud music until 3am every night we were there (4 nights). Unfortunately the land between the apartment and the nightclub is currently vacant so no sound barrier. Need a good pair of earplugs.
Did not have breakfast. Excellent location with a wonderful view of the sea.
Nothing all good.
This place the Yellow Bird Hotel St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church Barbados is little piece of paradise. We arrived on the 9th for 9 days for my partner’s 60th birthday celebration and was met with a lovely warm welcome after a very long flight by a lovely lady on reception called Monique whom got us all checked in, in no time whatsoever. We we’re then taken to our room on the top floor room 405 by a young guy called German whom was ever so polite and helpful and really hardworking, the room had a perfect view of the sea with a lovely bottle of red wine awaiting for us which was a lovely touch from the team at the Yellow Bird. Our whole stay there was perfect with the help of all the Yellow Bird staff which nothing was ever any trouble even when we needed a replacement iron for the room or information about where to go and getting around Barbados as this was our first time on the island. A special mention goes out to a wonderful lady called Michelle on reception who was always there to help us whenever we needed advice on anything at all and is an absolute credit to the Yellow Bird Hotel and we will hopefully see Michelle again upon our return Barbados at the Yellow Bird hotel in the hopefully very near future. And also a big thank you to the Bar guy Irvine and all the bar and kitchen team run by Cheryl -Ann for their complete hospitality at On The Bay restaurant. A big thank you to the maids for keeping our room 405 spotless and to an extremely high standard every single day that we were there. We salute you Yellow Bird will certainly be seeing you all again! Paul and Trisha xxx
Absolutely loved our stay in yellow bird the staff are absolutely amazing I can’t fault anything about this hotel we stayed in room 405 and we will be back 2027 to stay again I enjoyed everything about Barbados it was our first time now after meeting everyone in the yellow bird I wouldn’t go anywhere else my love to you all thank you for everything xx love Trisha & Paul xxx
Stayed for 2 wks and everything was perfect. From the Staff to the food, we enjoyed every moment of it.Shanice even recomend a desert for my wife with a rum sauce, my wife cant stop talking about that desert, thanks Shanice. Will like to also say a big thank you to Sonia in housekeeping,Monique, irvin,Dashawn,Michelle,Jamal,Anderson and all the other staff members I didn't get their names. We enjoyed our stay very much and hooe to see you all again in the future.
I visited yellow bird hotel, tried the cheesecake and it clicked! 😋 I really enjoyed the cheese cake and I'm look forward to coming back.
The room was clean
Conveniently located in St. Lawrence Gap, this clean, modern facility is staffed by a wonderful, helpful group of employees whose efforts make your stay truly enjoyable. Monique or Michelle are at reception to greet you and help you get oriented. There are four floors and each had a small private balcony. The rooms are very clean and have all the expected amenities. There is no elevator however Anderson or Jamel will happily carry your luggage to whichever floor/room you have reserved. Cheryl and Sonia also made us feel at home during our stay. There is restaurant in the hotel as well as a bar. Numerous other eating establishments are within easy walking distance in The Gap. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay at the Yellowbird on our next visit to Barbados.
The room was large and clean and all the staff was very helpful. Restaurant options were well priced and offered good value. We thought that the hotel was on the beach but it is actually across the road from a small beach and we were advised that it was not a good beach for swimming. Only negative is that check-in is not 24 hours and it felt a little shady when we arrived around 11pm. The security officer however did an excellent job welcoming us and getting us acquainted with our room. Great value for the cost,,, just really should not be considered beachfront.
Yes
The bed was very comfortable. There was Aircon fan available. She was very clean. Shower was amazing.
Food menu was very limited
The location is ideal, rooms are very clean and comfortable. Will book again.
The property is in the idea location to food, entertainment and beach. The view from my room was relaxing, which was exactly what I was looking for.
Amazing view, friendly staff, great pool. The room was very clean, the balcony was a must!
LOCATION IS SUPER!
Seventh year in Barbados and Yellow Bird continue to be sustainable, ecological with wild life and flora, and romantic. Renovated attractions on the island this year and enjoyed it! The staff at Yellow Bird have been continuously reliable and fortunately the same. It’s family. I would like a call-out to Michelle who books our tours and has excellent recommendations every year!
Wonderful stay at the Yellowbird! Friendly staff also very helpful
Staff members were very welcoming and the area was a nice vibe if you like to party
We booked Yellow Bird Hotel for our Anniversary/Birthday trip this year. The views of the ocean from our patio doors were beautiful. The front desk staff was very helpful and polite!! The housekeeping staff kept the room pristine clean which was very much appreciated. The location is directly in the St. Lawrence Gap which is within walking distance to stores, gift shops, nice restaurants as well as nightlife! Airport was about 15min away which was on a straight path from Yellow Bird hotel. We had a fabulous time exploring Barbados and so will you!!
The room we stayed in was more like a bungalow! It was nice, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as pull out sofa. It had a kitchenette with full refrigerator, a microwave and toaster oven. The sofa in my opinion, looked old and need replacement. There were a few other cosmetic changes needed to the property. But, overall a great place to stay with great restaurants in walking distance! The beach is also within walking distance, 2 to 3 minutes away!! The staff were all very welcoming, super nice and helpful!!
The food
That it did not have an elivator
I would have loved to have had an option for breakfast
No brekfast
The hotel was great in the area of st.lawrence gap where the restaurants and clubs live music the staff was wonderful especially Monique the receptionist we ate breakfast on the Bay restaurant at the hotel it was great the waitress Delica was excellent and friendly many thanks....
We loved it. Would definitely stay there again. Only downside was no elevator and we were on the 4th floor but they have someone bring up your luggage. Very friendly staff,
Had a really nice stay at the hotel. The rooms are well kept and the view is awesome! The only complaint I have is that the hotel does not have an elevator. Other than that I had no complaints.
We loved it here. Perfect location with stunning views over the bay and right on the doorstep of bars and restaurants. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Pool area is small but very clean. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need for your stay and a special shoutout to the cleaning staff who kept it immaculate. Food in the restaurant is good although we only ate in there on a couple of occasions. A great base for exploring the island
Great.
Didn't have a vegetarian or vegan menu.
I like the location. It was very noisy at night well beyond midnight. The staff were very welcoming and kind.
Beautiful hotel in a great location, close to beaches and local bars and restaurants . Lovely pool area and bar/ restaurant. Rooms nice but don’t expect luxury, kitchenette is well equipped. Staff are very friendly. We would stay here again.
Good location. Plenty of restaurants in area. Well priced restaurant on site
Uncomfortable bed settee. Felt springs through mattress
Excellent place. Nice and quiet and staff are nice
Beautiful view and well located
The room was very clean and everyone around us was super friendly. The hotel is located at a perfect location 👌.
I had an amazing stay at Yellow Bird Hotel! The location is perfect — right in St. Lawrence Gap with beautiful ocean views, plenty of dining options, and easy access to shops and transportation. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it easy to relax after exploring. The surrounding area felt safe and walkable, and I loved being able to step right out to the beach. I would absolutely stay here again!
Stayed here for 10 days and it was phenomenal. Easily accessible location the main road is right at the corner to catch a $3 van or bus. There's a parking lot in the back for taxi pickup and drop off. The staff were so sweet and welcoming. The evening bartender was great. Made friends with all of the staff really. The dining area is right in the front and always a bit quiet including the bar with a beautiful view. Everything super clean. Rooms have full kitchen! The only complaint I had was the security aspect of it. When you're in the pool people walk by on the main street and can literally walk right in or walk by and stare at you over the wall which happened a few times with questionable characters. When you have a patio/garden room on the 1st floor essentially anyone can walk onto the premises and to the room patio doors there's no security at the front or a gate its just completely open to anyone had to make sure our patio doors were locked before bed for this reason. Otherwise, really prime location for all things beach, food, nightlife between bridgetown and oistins.
The hotel staff was excellent. Everyone was nice and friendly. They always made sure I was okay. I had a small issue with the water temp a couple days and they kindly addressed it and even compensated me because of it. The hotel is a little dated but very clean! I appreciated the care and concern of the staff ensuring I had a great stay. I would definitely come back. There’s a lot of places to walk to grab food and drinks. There’s even a small convenience store where you can buy liquor, snacks, water and other little items you may need. At night, you can walk to get Gap burgers if you need a bite after partying late. Although the hotel is by the water, this isn’t the side you’d want to swim in. The beach is about 15-20mins away. Always ask the hotel what a taxi should cost. I mistakenly got a taxi and I later found out he (Harry) overcharged me for a 15min ride.
Room was clean nice size suite with a balcony overlooking the bay. Loved it! Staff friendly and helpful. It was noisy but I expected that so no big deal. My daughter loved all the nightlife options.
Stay here for a girls trip. The staff was excellent here! The location of the hotel was wonderful, right in the heart of the gap. Many walkable restaurants and bars. Our room was clean, spacious, and we loved our balcony view! Would definitely stay here again!
Reception staff is great very helpful and attentive. Everyone is really friendly. Room exceeded my expectations with the cleanliness and so spacious. Loved the kitchenette. Great sea view as well. Would definitely recommend and will be back!!!
Good stay
The staff and location
Loved it! Highly recommend
Thank you Miss Monique for making us feel at home, with your pleasant personality. Hotel, pool and surrounding area are well kept, room is exactly what was post. I enjoyed my 5 nights there with my 2 sons. Definitely recommend. ❤️ 🇬🇾
Very nice place…clean, comfortable, close to transportation, close to dining,a few feet off the main road, all rooms face the ocean/sea…very nice view from second, third and fourth floors…first floor ocean view is a bit obstructed by the flowering shrubs in the nice garden but this is not an issue especially if you don’t want to walk up stairs( four floors and no elevator). I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone… The staff is very helpful and quick to respond to any enquiries…
Perfect location! Very nice large rooms with balcony, full size refrigerator, microwave and stove top.
The shower !, friendly staff, large fridge freezer with ice cubes on arrival
The pool is very overlooked by diners in the restaurant and by the restaurant over the road and passers by .loud music constantly from the restaurant on the opp side of the road...we are both smokers, so that was an issue, no smoking on the balcony, only 4 brown stools to sit on for smoking in the direct sun, constantly harrased by walkers by selling weed or asking for a cigarette. We also paid an extortionate price for late check out.£69..00 uk sterling for 3 hours !. We were given a ground floor room with barely any sea view like is demonstrated in hotel pics
My family and I had a lovely trip. A great view and nearby to a lot of restaurants. The staff were extremely accommodating and went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend you stay at Yellow Bird!!!
Firstly I would like to say how clean this hotel is. Rooms were spotless. Bed very uncomfortable, mattress very lumpy, pillows hard. We stayed on a B&B basis, not great I must say. Included 1 coffee or tea, juice extra! no water ever offered at breakfast, some days served cold. Area now very run down. Some of the staff were really helpful and polite, some were not!! Yes there is some noise at night, but that is to be expected re hotel's location. Would I return, No
