The room was very dirty with black hair on the bed and towels.
Cute cozy space. Ample parking. Courteous staff. Outside sounds can be heard clearly, but the area is quiet overnight.
I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back again. It is close to a nice neighborhood with restaurants and bars and even a park with waterfalls for hiking. It was affordable but it was not exactly quality room. My room could use some upkeep with some of the trim that was taken off where there was a water leak in the bathroom and the bathroom in general could use a makeover. But still the bed was comfortable and the blankets were clean and I did not feel like this was a divey place. I didn't spend much so I didn't expect much but I will say that the people who check me in were very nice and I felt comfortable and at ease right away. For the money as long as you have realistic expectations this is good bang for your buck.
It was a superb stay for the price .... Real Value for Money Thanks ..
The room smell a lot to tobacco smoke, the A/C unit doesn't work well, work only like a fan.
Clean room, staff was amazing- Katey
Although the staff seemed to try their best to keep things clean, the room still felt quite dirty and unpleasant to look at. There were hairs in the bed, the furniture was mismatched and very outdated, and the overall condition felt run-down. The lock on the door did not seem very secure, and the limited renos appeared cheap. The security deposit was higher than the actual room cost, which was surprising. The pillow had a very strong perfume smell, and the lady at the front desk wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here. We paid $80. So you get what you pay for.
The property is in a safe area and provides cleaning on a daily basis. Besides the no visiting rule that I feel gets ignored, I have no complaints.
Staff was extremely rude. Please take your business elsewhere.
It was very nice to be able to stay at a motel that is quite economical that is also on direct bus routes to downtown Hamilton, and is just a five-minute walk from West End Diner, where I had my breakfasts and dinners while I was visiting Hamilton. The people at this place are very nice and friendly.
It could do better with better craftsmanship
Staff was uninterested. The place was pretty grimy. The good thing was that parking was right outside the door and the location was good as well.
This is the 3rd time I have stayed here. Rates are reasonable. The rooms show constant improvement and modernization. Rooms are clean and use easy to maintain materials, ie. tile floors throughout.
Great value ...
Clean room. Loved coming back after a long day at the ball park to a clean bed
Clean. Large comfy bed. Terrible pillows. Small bathroom with no counter space. No USB plug ins for cell phones. Good fridge and microwave.
Upon checking they requested a $100 cash deposit, which was weird. The sheets looked clean, but there was staining on the comforter. Pillows were quite lumpy, but the bed itself was comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.
The room wasnt clean at all. We had to lesve because we felt disgusted by the room
nice woman owner, well kept flowers outside
Great budget motel with a great price! Very clean, comfortable beds and when skip the dishes left out utensils with our order the lovely front desk lady saved the day with plastic forks and knives!
Terrible POS hotel that you get what you pay for. I posted my previous issues and somehow they didn’t stick.
You get what you pay for. Here are a few points we have noticed 1. Bed was hard as a rock, pillows terrible (thick as 6 pieces of paper) 2. Water in bathroom trickles 3. No soap holder (they couldn’t spend the $4 at Dollarama for ones? 4. The chair they give you in the room was literally on its last legs. We were afraid to sit on it as we would be blamed for breaking it. 5. The TV required a wizard to use it where the up arrow didn’t work 6. The TV randomly turned on in the middle of the night (quite bright) 7. Laminate floor seen better days 8. They could have splurged for a bigger waste basket. We put 2 Gatorade bottles in it and it was full 9. The sink had no counter and was so small I couldn’t put my glasses on it to put my contacts in (and put a toothbrush and toothpaste on it)
I never made it to the hotel. I chose to pay at property but what I didn’t know is that they charge your card at the beginning of the day and my card declined it and the room is automatically cancelled and it had been given away already. I had chosen pay at property because I wanted to pay with cash and if I had know about this I would have chosen pay now and it had been cheaper.
I requested a room change. Small issue nothing major. Staff super accommodating
Everything is nice and close so it’s easy to go get things in a pinch, check in was simple and easy
Was ok for a night
Affordable option for a quick overnight stay. Staff was great. Easy check in and out. The room could use some updates.
Expect no amenities (other than free parking and cable tv that the desk clerk felt I needed to be instructed on how to access) and bath towels akin to what I imagine jail inmates get--rough and barely larger than hand towels (which none of those was provided). Bedspread was stained. There are a few places to eat that are within walking distance but it's an unappealing neighborhood. Neighbors sat outside talking and smoking. It served its purpose as an inexpensive place to sleep and shower.
It was nice
No traffic after 10 pm. Quiet residential neighborhood. Comfy bed and pillows. Had a good night sleep!
Friendly staff and management
The room wasn’t clean and it smelled so weird. The pillows had
Bathroom was not clean properly . A lot of dirt in between tiles which is appalling
Accessible
The photos for this motel are extremely misleading (side note: this is not an inn). The room I was put in wasn’t at all somewhere I felt okay sleeping; I ended up leaving and booking at a hotel elsewhere without staying just after midnight the day I checked in. From the missing drawers on the dresser, dirty floor/grim around the mini fridge, grungy bathtub, no-long-white greyed out face towels, banged up door and half puttied/painted walls, inexplicable fruit flies even though there was no food around, and mosquitos hanging out inside the room, I did not feel comfortable taking any of my items out of my luggage or sleeping in the bed. Also, I did not appreciate having to give my credit card number over the phone after being left a voicemail saying my reservation was cancelled even though it was clearly stated on Expedia that payment was due upon check in at the site. Essentially got burned for $313 that quite frankly I should have been refunded. Especially since I was told I was going to be moved to another room on the 3rd day I was meant to be there because they had someone else booked in the gross one I was in for the Friday (even though I was already there and checked in on Wednesday), which doesn’t make sense). I’m sure this motel may serve its purpose for those who aren’t discerning about cleanliness but it should not be advertised with misleading photos and information. The only positive was that the woman working the front desk was nice.
Room and grounds very clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
The unit was dirty, stunk & the AC did not work. Additionally I booked two nights and they told me Expedia only had me booked for one night, I ended up going to Best Western in Brantford instead, a much better experience. I would NOT recommend this location. Also, their excuse for avalibilty was for their “regulars” they keep rooms open “just in case”, sure what a great way to run a business. The last who checked me in was great, friendly and resourceful, that was the only good experience here.
It was pretty good for the most part the duvet had holes in it though and the sheets had some stains also a lot of the tv channels weren’t available but other than that it was good
Super friendly and helpful staff. Room was ok. Had everything you need. Safe, clean, park right by your room. But rough around the edges. Can't beat the price.
Property and room was nothing like shown on web. Very dirty, broken air conditioning. Absolutely disgusting. Never go there. Cheap for a reason !!! Beware !!!
This property was quiet and well looked after. The staff was polite and helpful.
Likes = light , bed ac oven fridge. Peace and quiet environment away from chaos Dislikes = water , shower, ..not enough water for shower...no water taps for pure drinking , Little bit far from main highway bus stop
Friendly staff, very helpful
Great staff. Front desk took time to show us everything in the room from TV to AC. Room was neat. Just the door lock had some issues when exiting.
They cancelled my reservation the day of arrival. They refused to give it back to me. My partner then called to see if they had any rooms and they then gave it to him! The guy on the phone was extremely rude!
Not clean, and the air conditioner doesn’t work. But it was cheap, so I didn’t expect much.
Very dirty rooms. Bug everywhere. Toilet was ready to fall off. Baseboards look like never cleaned
Ok
Its an aberage motel, when they pass for empty the garbage the close the a/c i suppose to save money on electricity when we came back the room.was very hot.
The bed was noisy so fixe
For this price point it was good. The bed was clean & comfortable. The bathroom was a newer reno.
.
This is a bit of an older motel, Needs a little sprucing up in some areas however the room was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and I received a free upgrade because I was a later check in and there was a king bed room available. For an inexpensive stay near McMaster that was well lit, safe, and quiet, it was just right.
Gave me an early checkin at no extra charge, friendly and helpful staff!
Haven inn was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful. Would definitely recommend for a quiet affordable stay.
Bad service
Hole in my door that anyone walking past could see right into. Door had obviously been pried previously. Dirty quilt - visible dried stains on it.
It served the purpose. Overall good but we used a fan to help the AC because it was not powerful enough
Na
Nice place
property outside the room was fine
Expedia has an option to pay at the property and I chose that, they said we dont do that option you had to pay prior in order to reserve the room. Went tired after work and when arrived at the property said your has an issue with the card so we didnt kept the room for you. However, I reserved a week prior. The lady was nice . Idk it was haven inn fault or the app fault about showing pay at the property. It was so inconvient and I had to look for some property at the spot and it was way tooo expensive at the last moment and also cause of weekend.
Ok, if you are not a woman traveling alone or staying more than one night.
bathrooms weren’t cleaned properly, hair everywhere. tv not working
The front counter person gave me the house rules including no guests ,couldn’t watch the Blue Jay game or much anything else , cable tv said “One moment please” which means the signal isn’t strong enough for the box to pull in a signal. I explained it to the front counter the next morning, but they fluffed it off. Check your tv when you get to your room. (Incidentally, I went down to the office that same evening also and told the front desk , their response was “Take it up with management in the morning “ she said with her back to me. Not good customer service.you get what you pay for.
Horrible experience the rooms are so dirty and the bed sheet has holes in it and it smelly. I do not recommend going there ever.
Very helpful staff and excellent value for money.
Easy access to places to eat. View of an appartment building outside your front door was appealing.
Nice, clean property. Room was clean and spacious with a fridge and microwave.
Overall satisfied with the service.
Is OK, basic but clean
Checked in late on a Friday night, long after most businesses in the area have closed. If you're looking for late night dining, there is a gas station that sells macaroni and cheese about a 2 minute walk away. Nothing in the motel - just a microwave to cook a frozen dinner in. Start with the check in. Great experience. The clerk was super helpful and friendly. Even walked me to my room and explained the complicated procedure to get the TV to work. He also sourced a plastic spoon for me to eat my frozen dinner with - great guy! Next the room. I booked here because for the time of year and the region, it was seemingly reasonably priced ($100 for the night). The room was a no frills, small room that just held the bed, tv, and microwave. Bed sheets/covers were old (at least appeared well worn), and visible minor stains that appeared washable on the pillow/bedspread. The door to the room that I stayed in (#18) had obviously been pried open - or at least someone had attempted to pry it open - in the past, and there was a visible hole in the door that anyone stopping by could stare into the room from outside and catch a vision of me that I didn't want seen. The area - not a high crime area. Felt safe walking around. Checkout the next morning was uncomplicated - nice man at the front desk. Overall, because of the bedsheets and the door/safety element, I wouldn't stay here again. Not worth the $100. But like I said in the title, there are worse places you could stay.
Cleanliness 4/5 Customer Service 5/5 Issues with Bed makes it overall experience 2/5. Room number 21, bed was in pretty bad condition. Every time you move even slightest bed makes loud squeaky noise. Was not comfortable to sleep at all with it. Add AC making loud noise as well.
Really bad quality, very dingy and pretty nasty. Best you can get for the kost. Cleaning service went into my room while i was in the shower, i asked then to leave when i got out and they didnt understand somehow(even without the lamguage barrier wth). Plus they only changed the bed and didnt clean.
Quick stop for the night. Had a good nights rest. Room could use some fixing up. I didn’t like the blinds either. It was full blackout or no privacy pick one. For a motel it was fine.
The people who stayed in the next unit were very noisy until 2 am.
Condition of the building is horrible. It's never been renovated and looks different compare to picture. The recommended price should be 30$ pet night max.
When we got there we were greeted by the staff they were very helpful. A few down falls are there is no vending machines or ice machine also the beds are not as comfortable but for the price not overly bad.
The room (#7) we were assigned was quite dirty. It smelt moldy. The shower walls were slimy and the shower floor grimy. The faucet leaked. There was an outlet with no outlet cover - exposed wires. We complained to the manager who offered to switch rooms and showed us room #10 which was cleaner. When my wife lifted a corner of the mattress to look for signs of bedbugs (something we do in every hotel/motel) the manager immediately said that’s it and asked us to leave. He refunded our $100 damage deposit. Expedia refunded us 1 nights stay, but we still paid for 2 nights accommodation we didn’t use. The manager’s quick switch to ordering us to leave makes me think he was hiding something ! Stay clear of this motel! We are in our 70’s, have travelled extensively in Canada and Europe and Hawaii and never had a problem and never been treated like this.
Visible Stains on the bed sheets, hair on the bed and shower floor. The chair in the room was half broken. But hey, ya get what you pay for. Service was lovely but the room was below average. AC worked good though!
Comfortable bed and helpful staff. Good to have parking space outside your room.
Office staff gentleman was great. Everything was clean and quiet.
Dirty with hair and stained bed. Refrigerator dirty with hair. Management belligerent. $100 deposit required to experience this awful hotel. Stay away
It was great , the staff was super nice, the guy from reception showed us to our room and showed me our parking spot, the room was nice and clean so was the bathroom, wifi worked just fine for the moneybi think this is the best place that you can get , definitely recommend it
Overall, I got what I paid for.
It's a an awesome place & location for my work, when iam in town all good 👍 💯
The owner was very rude, very degrading, I felt like I was being watched all the time. They got upset that I was in my teammates room as there is “no visitor” policy which is fine but he came in aggressive and rude and demanded me to leave not knowing I was just down in the next room. Mansplaining things as if I’m a child. My door was unlocked when I got back (I always check my doors before I leave) but everything was there.
The owners were friendly but the rooms were poorly renovated.
Managers are so respectful and politely. Rooms awesome and clean for the price. Definitely refer to friends and social
The pillows are so bad
I had a room booked. When I arrived, my pet wasn't allowed to stay. When we made arrangements for my pet, I was told the room was taken and I could not stay. I have left a voicemail to get reimbursed the cost of the room, but have yet to hear back.
The location and setup were fine, but I had a mixed experience with the management. One staff member was helpful and assisted with the check-in process and paperwork, which was appreciated. However, the other woman—who appeared to be the owner—came across as quite pushy and made the interaction feel uncomfortable. Her approach was more stressful than welcoming, which took away from the overall experience.
Overwhelmed smell of paint fumes. I couldn't stay in the room more than 5 minutes. Didn't use the room at all
Nice and cozy
The lady at the front desk is very nice and the room is very clean
Staff were up and friendly even with a very late check in
This motel is in a lovely part of Hamilton. It has a beautiful garden and is across the street from a beautiful cemetary with very nice walking trails. The rooms are clean but basic, with comfortable beds. Good location for driving to Ancaster, Tiffany Falls and other points of interest.
great price, simple and all staff i met were friendly. no frills but for someone who is out and about it is perfect, quiet and safe for parking.
Pics were misleading about the room.. bathroom door wouldn't shut, paint missing off doorframe and walls, shower drain was extremely slow, could not touch or move blind, non smoking room had burn marks on toilet seat, room smelled like cat urine
Absolutely the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at.
