Reviewed Mar 19, 2026There was a good selection of food in the restaurant and very tasty. The breakfast was extreemly good The staff were very friendly aand helpful. We made a last minute adjustment to add another room to our stay, They even moved the rooms around to have both rooms next to each other.
The lift was out of action for most of the stay. The stairs were easy to navigate even with suitcases. The room was a little bit basic/old but was still comfortable.

Well if I was to nitpick we got 2 Irish coffees after dinner and they were boiling hot (literally) and some how didnt cool but thats small beer in all.

Changed our room to one nearer the reception area as our original room was quite a distance away and my husband was rather tired after a three and a half drive in torrential rain on the motorway ( he's disabled) The new room was much closer. Our evening meal was very good and the breakfast selection was brilliant. The waitressing/waiter staff were very friendly.
The extreme heat in the corridor that our room was on.

Disabled parking is almost no existent they have 1space that they allow people to pre-book which means you have to climb either 4 flights of stairs or a very steep ramp to get into the hotel for a hotel of this size / rating they could and should do better.

Reviewed Jan 28, 2026Breakfast buffet excellent, evening meal very high standard with interesting menu. Large free private car park. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Bedroom clean and spacious , good range of toilet/shower/bath soaps. For two nights we had amazing value, especially including the exceptional breakfast. Lift to first and second floors.
The restaurant and bar are large rooms, sadly lacking in atmosphere, due to high ceilings and hard surfaces. However, the food quality lifted the experience. I would suggest a redesign of the small car park in front of the hotel steps, to allow the initial arrival and luggage unloading with ease. A circular route would create a flow, and avoid idiots parking on "NO Parking" signs and inviting minor contacts.

Whilst a minor thing, it's the only time I can recall a hotel rotary toaster actually providing a properly cooked slice of toast the first time!. All of which suggested to me the staff actually care about their guests experience.

Lift not working and staff didn’t offer help with bags. Hotel overall a bit scruffy and in need of decorating Toilet needed a clean Drinks expensive for the bar atmosphere - Coronation street on TV and bar music very dated

Had such a beautiful stay helped me very much as suffer breathing..bed was hard for myself needed softly next time as had lot pain from it ..food was beautiful but needs some slightly smaller menu as I struggle to eat some of it ..but my taste still beautiful stay
