We really loved staying and spending time at trident, the service was top notch and the pool was clean and my daughter really enjoyed her time there and in the room. As per my 6.5 year old daughter, this is the best hotel in the world.

A remarkable General Manager creates an environment where purpose is visible, where colleagues take genuine pride in their work, and where every guest feels welcomed, valued, and at home. When that vision is consistently lived, a hotel stops being merely a place to stay—it becomes a community built on trust, connection, and a lasting sense of belonging. Recently, I came across a thought by Jannes Sörensen that perfectly captured what I experienced during my stay at Trident Bhubaneswar: “Hospitality was never meant to be transactional. It was meant to be relational… People don’t travel just for perfect service. They travel to belong, to connect, and to be part of something. Efficiency is a requirement, but connection is essential.” After my stay, I can confidently say that this philosophy is very much alive at Trident Bhubaneswar. What impressed me most wasn’t simply the physical product. It was the people. Their warmth, ownership, and genuine desire to create memorable experiences elevated every interaction beyond professional service. They made us feel less like guests and more like people they genuinely cared for. A Front Office Team That Begins Hospitality Before Arrival Even before my reservation was confirmed, I had the opportunity to connect with Mr. Niladri Saha, Front Office Manager. This immediately stood out. Many hotels prefer limiting guest engagement until a reservation is confirmed. Mr. Saha chose a different approach. When I requested contact details for the Sales team, he shared them immediately without hesitation. There were no unnecessary formalities—only a genuine willingness to help. Once my reservation was confirmed, his involvement only became stronger. From pre-arrival coordination to post-stay follow-up, every interaction reflected ownership rather than obligation. Hospitality had already begun long before check-in. A Chauffeur Experience That Reflected Genuine Care Prior to arrival, I had requested whether it would be possible to arrange a Toyota HyCross instead of the regular Innova Crysta, along with glass bottled water and cold towels. Every single request was thoughtfully arranged. As my train approached Bhubaneswar, Mr. Saha personally messaged me requesting my coach number because railway construction work was underway, and he wanted the arrival to remain seamless. Unfortunately, my train was delayed by nearly three and a half hours. Yet the chauffeur and his assistant patiently waited throughout. Despite the rain, they came directly onto the railway platform, assisted with our luggage, escorted us to the vehicle, and ensured everything was ready—including chilled towels, bottled water, and a smooth transfer to the hotel. During the drive, I also had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Barua Bandhu, whose career with The Oberoi Group spans decades. Listening to his journey and experiences made the transfer feel less like transportation and more like an introduction to Oberoi’s culture of hospitality. A General Manager Who Leads From the Front Within moments of arriving at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Rohit Tiwari, General Manager, alongside Mr. Niladri Saha. Less than a minute after clearing security, we had already received our welcome drinks and completed our arrival formalities. There was no waiting. No confusion. No unnecessary process. Only effortless hospitality. Mr. Rohit Tiwari personally greeted us, spent time interacting with us, and very kindly upgraded our stay to one of the Executive Suites. Luxury is often associated with expensive interiors and premium amenities. I believe true luxury begins when leadership chooses to be personally present. When the General Manager welcomes guests himself, it communicates something much deeper than operational excellence—it communicates culture. From that very first interaction, I knew this stay would be special. For that gesture alone, I remain sincerely grateful. Housekeeping That Reflects Oberoi’s DNA Housekeeping is often one of the most overlooked departments in hospitality. Yet it is one of the strongest indicators of a hotel’s culture. Having experienced brands like Oberoi, Aman, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, and Peninsula, I have always believed that turndown service is far more than preparing a room for the night. It is about creating emotion. At Trident Bhubaneswar, Ms. Shrirupa Dutta, Executive Housekeeper, demonstrated exactly that philosophy. The suite was immaculate on arrival. Every detail reflected precision, cleanliness, and attention. After requesting an introduction through Mr. Niladri Saha, Ms. Dutta personally visited our suite to understand our expectations. Rather than simply delegating tasks, she chose to engage personally. She asked whether I preferred chamomile tea after dinner during turndown service, discussed my housekeeping preferences, and remained actively involved throughout the stay. On several occasions, I noticed her personally supervising housekeeping activities outside my room. That level of ownership cannot be mandated through standard operating procedures. It comes from culture. With over fourteen years of experience within The Oberoi Group, her professionalism, humility, and passion were evident in every interaction. It reminded me why Oberoi’s reputation for housekeeping remains one of the finest in the luxury hospitality industry. Culinary Experiences Rooted in Local Identity I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to Mr. Zakir Hussain, former Food & Beverage Manager at Trident Bhubaneswar, for thoughtfully introducing us to the culinary team. Executive Chef Mr. Shakti personally visited our suite to understand our dining preferences. Initially, I mentioned how much I had enjoyed the Nasi Goreng during a previous stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas. Instead of simply preparing the familiar dish, Chef Shakti gently encouraged me to experience Odisha through its cuisine. His words reflected genuine pride in his region. That recommendation proved unforgettable. The Odia Thali was exceptional. Every preparation showcased balance, authenticity, and technique. The prawns were perfectly cooked, the mutton incredibly tender, the chicken beautifully prepared, and the meal concluded with one of the finest Chhena Poda desserts I have ever tasted. It wasn’t merely dinner. It was an introduction to Odisha through hospitality. Final Thoughts What made Trident Bhubaneswar memorable was not just its rooms, facilities, or operational efficiency. It was the people. The willingness to anticipate needs before they were expressed. The desire to create relationships instead of transactions. The humility to serve without making service feel procedural. What I feel Personally “People don’t travel just for perfect service. They travel to belong, to connect, and to be part of something.” At Trident Bhubaneswar, I experienced exactly that. My sincere appreciation to Mr. Rohit Tiwari, Mr. Niladri Saha, Ms. Shrirupa Dutta, Chef Shakti, Mr. Zakir Hussain, and every colleague who quietly contributed to making this stay exceptional. You did not simply provide hospitality. You created a feeling of belonging. A Small Observation Every memorable stay leaves behind not only wonderful memories but also opportunities to elevate the guest experience even further. There is just one small observation I would like to share. During the room escort, colleagues often say, “Welcome to your room.” While this is perfectly appropriate, I personally believe there is an even more meaningful expression that better reflects the philosophy of true luxury hospitality: “Welcome home.” Luxury hospitality is never just about presenting a room; it is about creating a sense of belonging. Those two simple words instantly transform the experience. They reassure guests that they are not simply checking into a hotel—they are arriving at a place where they will be genuinely cared for, understood, and made to feel completely at ease. Sometimes, the smallest words create the deepest emotional connection. Me and my family had a stay here for 2 days. It was meant to be a stay for just a day but the services and hospitality that were provided along with the humble staff made us extend our stay for one more day. The campus itself is a bliss. We were thankful to the staff Amann who took such good care of us during breakfast with his kindness and attentiveness. The staffs here are soft spoken and friendly.

Very exclusive, probably the best Trident property in India. Arguably the best Hotel of Odisha in Bhubaneswar - the property maintains its exclusivity in its design, legacy, and service. Much different from the run-of-the-mill, the other "regular" hotels in Bhubaneswar. All the other hotels belong to one similar category, and this Trident is a completely separate category with a lower Tariff.

Worst Service, No guest reception, no proper welcome at the hotel. Quality of food was bad, terrible room comfort, water kept coming from the bathroom to the room.

We had a short stay to celebrate a birthday here. The hotel itself was very well maintained and the rooms were excellent. As for the restaurant, the food was outstanding along with the excellent service. We were helped by Mr. Amaan who catered to us during the morning buffet. This hotel definitely deserves 5 stars and a stay is worth the price.

Stayed for 2 weeks at Trident and enjoyed dinner and drinks in the bar area several times. Most charming and welcoming service received from Dawa, who accommodated all requests with a smile and prepared expert cocktails. Chef’s shish and vermicelli kheer are beyond delicious. Warmly and fully recommend the Trident bar and staff.
