The outdoor facilities like the tennis court and the pétanque area were nice, but the toddlers pool was dirty and needed more water (ankle deep), waterline showed it had been fuller at some point. The spa pool was tepid.

Booked months in advance and specifically requested to be next to family. This was acknowledged at the time, however it was not honoured, and there was no communication beforehand to advise it couldn’t be accommodated. We were placed in a lower-standard room with an outdated bathroom and a fixed shower that wasn’t practical for washing a toddler (and flooded the bathroom). The bathroom window also faced the main driveway with no blind, which felt like a complete lack of privacy. Our outdoor area opened directly onto the driveway, making it unsafe and unusable with a young child, while other units had proper shared outdoor spaces — which is what we had requested when booking. When we raised concerns at reception, they were dismissed with no attempt to resolve. We were told we should have booked direct if we wanted flexibility, however this was never communicated to us despite our request being acknowledged at the time of booking. For the price paid, this fell well short of expectations.

We loved the location so close to town. Loved you got to use the local gym.

We booked the two bedroom apartment for good room space. But we found the sofas incredibly uncomfortable to sit in. One of the sofas spring I think is actually broken. Also didn’t realise it was a family oriented motel. So many kids yelling and screaming. Didn’t use the spa because all the kids were always in it. Great for families not just an older couple. I would recommend to families.

This is the ideal place to stay as the location is ideal. Walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The facilities are great with a tennis court, pool and spas.

The bed was a little too bouncy so partner movement was a problem (that may not have been the case in other beds). The pool is deep which is not ideal for a shorty like me that is not confident in the water, but it was well used by others.

Close to stores and the beach. Atm was nearby too. The pool was great. They offer tennis rackets and balls to use.

Outdated furniture and beds. Worn out. I heard the neighbor snoring so sleep was lost.

Pool and Tennis Courts were great for the kids. (And a public playground next door) Close to the shops.

Everything was wonderful. We had an excellent unit with comfy beds and an awesome roomy bathroom. Little touches on the walls were nice too.

The only thing that spoiled it for us was our unit had been redecorated to a wonderful high standard, however the couch left us feeling disappointed as it was very small and uncomfortable.

Location and pool were great. Rooms were a good size. Kitchen met needs. Aircon in living area was very good.

Hot in bedrooms, could do with a fan. No daily cleaning or towels. Had to leave the place with dishes done and recycling away which is more like an airBnB. Sheets were a little plastic and stiff in texture.

Location is perfect for our family. The kids can walk to shops anytime. No car needed.

The room had been renovated which was amazing and the room was for 5 people. Plenty of space but the tiny couch was a let down . Too small. On two people could sit an once.y daughter and Don didn't even want to use it or couldnt

The noise, the shower was shit , bugs in the room, ants, lounge suites very uncomfortable..

Our second time staying here and we had another great experience. Location is ideal for walks to the shops, restaurants and less than 10min walk to the beach. My kids love staying here as it is truely family friendly - tennis, lots of grass, pool, spa and big open rooms great for families. The rooms are tidy, clean and well equipped with everything you’ll need for as great stay! Handy having 2 x car spaces per room as we travelled in 2 cars and this made things easier.

We always book there for the pool and location. My friends loved it too. They were very impressed. Very good beds too.

We had room 1, beside the pool and spa pool. Was lovely room perfect for family's and small children, we brought our parents and my 8 month old, they have high chair and cot available. Everything you need, perfect location. Would definitely stay again.

Didn't stay long enough

Whangamata is a nice little town, not much to do, though.

We didn't appreciate that the resort manager decided to move our booked apartment to another apartment that was terrible and next to a restaurant/bar. However, we were not disturbed by any noise during the day, but trying to sleep at night, we had a constant buzz from the air conditioning units mounted on the roof as well as a larger extraction fan that seemed to run all night. We were told that the resort was fully booked, so that meant that we could not ask for a different apartment. They couldn't even tell us why they moved us. So we left a day early so that we could get some sleep. Will definitely not recommend going there, and anyone going there should make sure they are not booked into unit 26 if wanting a good night's sleep..

We were in a downstairs apartment and you could hear every footstep in the upstairs apartment very loudly. Also we were in apartment 12 and it is the only one that the lounge faces the carpark. All the apartments have a nice outlook though so I’d just avoid this one.

Loved the location to the sea and town, so close to everything. Unit was very clean and management very friendly.

Very clean and good facilities for what we needed.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property, which offered excellent facilities and a great location. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, with especially cozy beds that made for a restful stay. The staff were warm and welcoming, even reaching out before our arrival to coordinate check-in details. Off-street parking right next to the apartment was a big plus, and the central location made it easy to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. We’re already looking forward to returning and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Whangamata.

Location was great. We were only there briefly, literally to sleep and shower was great, everything clean. Host were lovely and accommodating in regards to the bad weather etc. Looks like a great family place with plenty on site to do. Sadly time wasnt on my side but i plan to come back and explore more.

Honestly the only thing i can fault for $400 a night is being expected to do my own dishes and recycling. I know it seems petty but when traveling on a break, these are things i look forward to NOT doing (not that im messy). Personally this was a chore i could have done without, being exhausted from travel etc. I travel often and this was new. I put my 3 bottles out as instructed to avoid an extra fee. My only gripe. Sorry.

We had been once before and we loved it because of the facilities and that was the only reason we came this time and was 1000% disappointed the pool and spa area was under construction we had no idea we wouldn’t have come if we had known. Then my kids found a adults dvd under one of the mattresses and when I took it to the manager he gave the impression he didn’t believe me and I felt he was accusing me that it was mine so I was totally disappointed. And the spa that was working was only hot the first night then like warm the second day. When booking there was no alert to say pool and spa under construction
