Lieu magnifique. Personnel au petit soin. Petit déjeuner super. Piscine avec vue incroyable.

Chambre avec trop peu de place pour accrocher des linges ou poser ses affaires. Les terrasses des chambres manquent d’aménagement. Il faudrait des chaises longues pour pouvoir s’y installer. La qualité du restaurant le soir est moyenne.

Von A-Z hat uns alles gefallen - die Umgebung, das stilvolle Zimmer, das schöne Restaurant, der wunderschöne Pool mit Poolbar, das Museum, und und und…. Auch mit Kleinkind wird man sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich behandelt und wir haben uns absolut wohl gefühlt! Absolute Empfehlung! Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in der Douro-Region sind.

Dealing with the road closure since we had a car. The staff was very helpful escorting us through a back road but it required some pre-planning for excursions.

Fantastic view from the top of the Douro valley. Beautiful sunset moments. Good organic homegrown food. Only issue was the street closure which means an extra hour of winding roads to get to the estate. Not their fault and they tried their best to find alternative routes

The pool offers a stunning view of the Douro River cutting through the layers of lush, sloped vineyards. The estate beautifully preserves its original historic structures, and the rooms and common areas feel incredibly cozy, natural, and tastefully styled. We loved the two audio-guided vineyard walks, which were a fantastic way to learn about biodiversity and grape cultivation while soaking in the valley views. A huge thanks to the exceptional team: Inês gave us a wonderful wine tasting tour—she was so cheerful, passionate, and attentive, you would never guess it was her very first tour! At the restaurant, Sommelier Marco was incredibly professional, using his deep knowledge to pair wines that took our delicious dinner to another level. The front desk team was also super helpful and efficient throughout our stay. Stay 2 nights to fully enjoy the whole experience !

A estrada para lá, várias estradas cortadas que não aparecem no gps as alternativas, demoramos 1:40h a mais do que o suposto para lá chegar, o que nos fez perder parte da experiência e fez com que e experiência não fosse tão boa.

We only had lunch here, and I will say this idyllic place has one of the most amazing views we experienced in the Douro Valley. Our food and wine were great, and we spent some time just taking in the breath taking views. We were on a tour so I’m not even sure how we got there, but it was worth it.

Our visit here was exceptional, We were only on a one night stay but it was fantastic, truely enjoyable and stunning location. We did a couple of tastings, our host was fabulous, really knowledgeable and was super helpful on explaining the grapes, the process and history of the Vinyard and the range of products they produce. Dinner all I will say is have the game pie, the flavours without it being heavy. I Breakfast was lovely and the resturant is a very calming space. You can hike the Vinyards , the audio guides on the way are a nice added touch. The view from the pool words cannot describe, truely picturesque even on a cloudy day. Must visit the shop before departing!!!

Beautiful property with high end facilities and fresh farm to table food. Staff were very kind and accommodating- always willing to help make your stay the best possible. Top thing is the stunning infinite pool looking over the Duoro Valley. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

A luxurious, peaceful hidden gem of a luxury hotel on a large plot. Breathtaking views from the pool and grounds. Fantastic staff. Nothing is too much trouble, discreet but responsive. Great pool bar, wine bar and restaurant. They have hiking trails with an audio guide of the property and lovely nooks and crannies to sit. There is also a quiet spot on the banks of the river -perfect for a bottle of rosé or a picnic. The hotel is able to offer a Douro cruise on their own traditional wooden boat - book in advance. No need to leave the site and felt very well taken care off.

Be warned - it is a hilly location in the Duoro valley so not suitable for those with disabilities generally.

I fear we will never beat Quinta de Ventozelo. The views from the Quinta are utterly breathtaking and unlike any hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel was at the higher end of our usual budget but we are so glad we splurged for this special experience. With a museum, tastings, walks and dining on-site we didn’t feel the need to leave the estate (the view really was unbeatable). The pool area was really quiet in the mornings and there are many pockets of the estate you discover that offer quiet and serenity. It was a perfect few days of relaxation before busy Porto. The restaurant is nice and on a terrace with beautiful views. The dinner menu can be a bit repetitive if you are staying multiple nights. Be aware that they also have a wine bar menu with less formal tapas/sharing options that we found suited us very well. Breakfast was varied and delicious (the apple oat pancake was the showstopper for us). There was just one morning we experienced our order being forgotten and ended up asking for it to go as the flies were particularly bad. If you are hiring a car, note that the roads up to the Quinta are not for the faint hearted (we were glad of a glass of wine afterwards!). All in all, if you want to stay on a working Quinta with everything you need on-site and the most beautiful views in the Douro. Book book book!

Really beautiful property, amazing local food and wine and fabulous staff. We loved our stay here and would absoloutely come again. We did the wine tasting on site which was excellent. Pool and view over the valley is stunning. Easy to get to nearby Pinhao for wine tastings at other Quintas, reception helped to organise taxi there and back

Room was slightly small but this was minor and didn’t impact our stay we really did love the hotel

This was by far the best place we have stayed while visiting Portugal. The suite we stayed in was lovely, so clean, had a private patio and a perfect view out the windows! The property was beautiful and I loved exploring all the gardens and vineyard.

There was not a single thing I disliked about this property.

The most beautiful views over the Douro. It was lovely to stay in this well equipped hotel - pool was stunning to look over the vineyards and the valley. Dinner was absolutely delicious and we loved the wines. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend staying.

La distancia a cualquier punto cercano es mínimo de 1 hora, carretera estrecha y con muchas curvas. Las cómodas en el hotel minimalista, bacalao o jabalí, como plato principal y no tenían nada más. Noche con mucho frío en la habitación, imposible entrar en calor

Fantastic stay— The views were amazing, and the pool area was a real highlight—beautiful and relaxing. We stayed in room 19, and while it was comfortable, the room felt a bit outdated and the air conditioning wasn’t very effective. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended, especially for the service and atmosphere. Very special thanks to João in the restaurant. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about wine (like a true sommelier vibes), always polite, and he made our evenings feel extra special with his suggestions. The hotel is very lucky to have him. If you look for a peaceful break between Porto and Lisbon, we highly recommend this place.

An extremely scenic location with accommodation spread out around the vineyard. Beautifully maintained grounds with reception approached down a long windy road. Room adequate. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast accessed by walking up quite a steep hill. Outdoor pool not heated.

Breakfast was outstanding. Great selection, service very prompt and lovely setting. Hotel setting is stunning and the grounds amazing. Room was nicely appointed and very quiet.

Dinner was a disappointment.. Server was not very helpful when we asked questions about menu offerings. And, main entre was brought literally 2 minutes after we ordered it with salad (starter) later. Made me wonder if food had actually been pre-cooked and then just reheated as it was served at microwave speed. Felt rushed and more cafeteria-like than a fine dining experience. Staff seemed inexperienced at dinner service. Would skip dinner here and arrange elsewhere as food was not very well prepared. Was bland. RE: hotel room, heat didnt work in room and had to request a space heater, and the rugs in the room were literally wet. We commented on this the next day at check out and the front desk person said yes, he knew that. I think it odd that the hotel would not attempt to dry out the room prior to a guest's use or ensure the rugs were dry. For a hotel of this caliber, there should be more attention to detail.

Sehr schöne Anlage mit freundlichem Personal. Das Abendessen war super lecker. Die Aussicht am Pool und allgemein die Umgebung ist wunderschön. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht hier. Die Zimmer sind sauber und schön. Wir haben sogar mehrfach einen Fuchs gesehen, der verweilte auf der Terrasse des Restaurants.

Das Frühstück war okay aber nicht speziell. Wir hätten etwas mehr Auswahl auf der Karte erwartet.

The location up in the hills overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River was perfect. The various walking trails with the audio tour made us feel like we were really part of the valley not just a passive tourist. The food in the restaurant was amazing as weak as the staff. Maybe the best view in all of the Douro?! The property of Quinta Ventozelo is so beautifully filled with intentional touches at every turn. It overdelivers for sure, even though the photos online are outstanding. The flowers and gardens are sublime. Walking the paths through the vineyards is stunning. We absolutely loved our two night stay. So relaxing. And the food and views from the restaurant were superb. We felt like everything was very fairly priced and that our expectations were exceeded at every turn. We did the afternoon picnic, which ended up being a highlight of our time there. We sat by the edge of the Douro in a very private spot all to ourselves, enjoying an epic picnic spread. GO to this place and stay. You will not regret it!

Atendimento de vários funcionários. Muito antipaticos. Nos corrigiam o tempo todo, nos acusando de fazer algo errado. Diferente de outros lugares de Portugal, não me senti acolhida e bem vinda, me senti num local comercial apenas. O quarto é muito pequeno e o banheiro está dentro do quarto o que não fica claro na descrição do hotel e nas fotos. O preço para tudo isso é absurdamente caro. Outros hotéis em Portugal no mesmo preço são muito melhores.

Amamos a experiência de dormir no Vale do Douro, todo hotel é lindo, aconchegante. Vamos voltar em breve.

The place is very special. Beautiful Quinta in a wonderful location, Great views from the swimming pool. Very good restaurant and breakfast. Most (not all) staff very nice and helpful.

The room was not what I expected. Very small with the bathroom (very small) in the room. Very small window and very little space overall. Not at all in line with the value paid.

The room was a bit small, toilet was very small, and there wasn't anywhere to really work from in the room.

Staying at Ventozelo was absolutely magical. The grounds are fantastic, the views spectacular and the staff are friendly and informative. The food was also very good at the restaurant. My only regret is not booking for 2 nights. There is a lot to experience on the property and you also get a larger, nicer room if you stay longer. We enjoyed hiking, the museum, driving around the property, the pool and the food. We didn't do any wine tasting or the river boat trip as we had already done that elsewhere... however, if I were to do the trip again, I would include those activities from this hotel, rather than booking separately.

Everyone that worked there went out of their way to make the guests happy!

Es un sitio espectacular. La vista al Douro, todos los paseos q puedes hacer por los senderos q tiene la Quinta, el huerto, el museos, los distintos salones para ver. Bellamente decorados. La zona de catas hermosa. La piscina infinity viendo el Douro, un lujo. Y poder cenar muy bien allí vale totalmente la pena. El desayuno t lo sirven en mesa y es muy rico y completísimo. La atención muy buena y t facilitan todo. Muy buena calidad y precio por todo lo q recibes. La habitación pequeña pero con todo lo necesario, la cama muy cómoda y tenía su terraza fuera.

Das Hotel und die Quinta liegen malerisch am Douro. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön, mit Liebe zum Detail aufgebaut und mit herrlichen Blicken. Das Personal ist freundlich und liebenswürdig, befindet sich aber größtenteils in der Ausbildung oder Anlernphase. Wenige sprechen Englisch. Das Können entspricht nicht dem gehobenen Standard, den das Hotel vorgibt zu bedienen. Das Essen ist gut und schmackhaft.

Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und eher dunkel. . Die Einrichtung ist teilweise disfuntional: - keine Ablagemöglichkeiten, - keine Beleuchtung in der Dusche, - kein abgetrenntes Badezimmer, sondern nur ein Einbau, der ins Zimmer integriert ist, - keine Leselampen, - zu wenig Steckdosen, - nur 2 kleine Harken - keine Möglichkeit, grosse Handtücher aufzuhängen - falsch angebrachter Wasserhahn am Waschbecken, so dass das Wasser herumspritzt und alles nass wird. Das Frühstück wird serviert und ist eher übersichtlich.

Incredible experience in the uncrowded March off season. We thought we'd stay one night and ended up extending to two. Could have easily spent more days at Ventozelo. It's a beautiful property - possibly the most beautiful I've ever stayed at. Lovely hiking through the vineyards down (and back up!) the steep forested trails to the river. Great port wine tasting, and excellent guided wine tasting. Fantastic restaurant with a good tapas menu if the mains are too large for you. Great late-night evenings by the fire. Excellent and friendly staff. Beautiful grounds day and night! I'd love to stay here again.

This is a fabulous, luxury hotel in a very peaceful setting overlooking the Duoro River. The service at the front desk is especially helpful in recommending other places to visit, however this property is so beautiful and the restaurant is excellent so you might not want to go anywhere else. The beds are very comfortable. We stayed in the villas facing the river with a small sitting area right outside of our room. There are so many choices of places to stay on the property including family friendly houses. Our room was a hike up to the restaurant and we were too tired to walk it so they came and picked us up in a golf cart and shuttled us to the restaurant. The restaurant served the best veal I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. They even have a children's menu. The food is truly farm to table with fresh squeezed orange juice from the property's trees. The wine is excellent and the staff is helpful with pairing. english is spoken at the front desk and there are people in the restaurant who are also fluent. Our room came with a small bottle of port to enjoy as well as coffee maker and hot pot. We had 5 glorious nights at the property and we were sad to leave. There are many activities to be had and hiking to do but we were there at the end of a 3 month journey and just wanted to rest and drink wine and enjoy the view. You can drive to Pinhao or Regua and visit other wine farms if you like but we always came "home" wondering why we went anywhere else.

Pequeno almoço adequado às minhas necessidades, que são escassas, pelo que reconheço que para quem precisa de mais, vi que havia tudo. Os funcionários são prestáveis, simpáticos e muito atenciosos, o que já tinhamos percebido no almoço de sexta-feira, que foi excelente!

Esta é que não consigo responder, porque na verdade e sendo eu atento aos detalhes, não se destacou nada que me tenha ficado registado na memória. Mesmo nas compras que fiz na loja na manhã de sábado, todo o atendimento foi adequado, pelo que só coloco aqui uma resposta, para realçar a impressão muito positiva, que recolhemos desta curta estadia.

Simplesmente de tudo. É um espaço incrível, lindíssimo, super confortável, bem decorado e com pormenores de excelência. O staff é 5 estrelas...nada a apontar, pelo contrário, agradecer o serviço prestado, a simpatia e a amabilidade. Adorámos! A Quinta é enorme e permite passar uns dias descansado e com tudo o que é preciso. E depois de realçar o pequeno almoço, muito bom, e o restaurante... Fantástico! Qualidade, diversidade e pratos deliciosos. Para repetir!

HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The grounds are stunning, the restaurant excellent, the staff absolutely wonderful. The included breakfast was lovely and dinners fabulous. The quinta has an extensive wine list and the prices were incredibly reasonable. We stayed in the Casa dos Cardanhos annex with our two kids and were able to get two rooms that were connected by a private hallway - a great option for families!! This place is sophisticated but just fine for kids - plenty of room for them to roam and there was also a friendly fox that we enjoyed spotting! I would 100% stay here again when we come back to the Douro.

Dos quartos do Olival que estavam a uma temperatura muito elevada e de o pequeno-almoço ser a lá carte mas a qualidade era muito muito boa. Faz falta uma sala ou zona de convívio para ler ou simplesmente estar.
