Mad Monkey Hostel Nacpan Beach

De locatie is echt uitstekend, direct aan het prachtige Nacpan Beach. Wij waren hier in augustus, wat het laagseizoen is, waardoor er helaas bijna niemand in het hostel was. Ondanks dat maakte het personeel er echt het beste van en waren ze ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er zijn veel leuke activiteiten te doen en de faciliteiten zijn goed. In het hoogseizoen lijkt dit ons helemaal een geweldige plek!

The location, Nacpan beach is a MUST. Room was nice and everyone was very very kind. You also have plenty of activities you can join !

Prices displayed at the bar/restaurant menu are not what then is charged to you. They should add the extra they charge for the service already to make things more transparent.

Great location! Loved my time here and extended several times. Alicia and Sam are great Hosts/DJ and we had a lot of fun with them. Met great people here and Anthony is also a great manager! Thank you for the time!

I liked how it was on the beach front which was nice I liked the huts we stayed in We had beautiful sunsets The food was pretty good. Staff were interactive with games and offering free shots of alcohol

I didn’t like how isolated we were from town, the walk to the hostel was quite far we had to hike across the beach. NO AIR CONS IN FACILITY! This needs to be stated when booking because it’s quite awful without any aircons. That’s the real bummer here. The other girls had to sleep with the doors open just for air circulation.

Dirty space around the dorm beds , dodgy plugs which make phone charging a challenge, and fans to be renewed and cleaned, I DIDN’T APPRECIATE TO FEEL LIKE AN OLD BITCH BECAUSE I ASKED TO HAVE A WORKING FAN FROM 1.30 Pm ON MY ARRIVAL AND HAD TO BE FIRMLY DEMANDING WHEN NOTHING WASN’T STILL PLANNED BY THE RÉCEPTION AT 9PM . Thanks a lot for the 2 staff guys who found a solution ! + POOR INCLUSION , feeling of being really nobody if you don’t fit the usual crowd. Very different from all the Philippines guesthouses where you’re asked your name upon your arrival etc.. THIS IS MY FIRST NEGATIVE REWIEW AFTER TRAVELLING FOR 4 MONTHS, maybe more staff would allow these points to be improved???

Direkte Strandlange mit wunderschönen Sonneuntergang.

Ich habe mich schon lange nicht mehr so unwohl wie in diesem Hostel gefühlt. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier leider überhaupt nicht. Angefangen von dem super unfreundlichen Personal, dieses dir wirklich bei jeder Frage eine arrogante, überhebliche Antwort gibt oder eben nichts für dich tun kann, von einem Rollerverleih, bis hin, dass sie dir kein Rückgeld geben können, somit schulden sie mir immer noch Geld. Außerdem ist dieses Hostel viel zu teuer, ob es sich um eine Bettbuchung oder eine Coke an der Bar handelt. Die Zimmer sind relativ „sauber“, die Sanitäranlagen jedoch nicht. Das Schlimmste jedoch bei den sommerlichen Temperaturen , dass es keine Klimaanlage in den Zimmern hat & nur Ventilatoren & zwar an jedem Bett ein Kleiner und drei Große. Es ist trotzdem mehr als heiß & nicht aushaltbar & dadurch auch noch extrem laut. Zum Schluß kommt noch dazu, dass jede Morgen, Abend wie auch immer besoffene, kotzende sehr junge Menschen rumliegen. Brauch ich ehrlicherweise nicht nochmal mal.

Schöner Strand, sauber und gemütliche Betten.

Durch die internationale Situation wurde 2x täglich der Strom für 3 Stunden ausgestellt. Das Internet hat die meiste Zeit allerdings nicht funktioniert. An sich wäre dies nicht schlimm bei einem kleinen Unternehmen, allerdings ist Mad Monkey eine Kette und es gab keine vorherige Information darüber & auch keine Kompensation. Die meisten Speisen auf der Karte waren ebenfalls nicht verfügbar. Keine Klimanlage und die Unternehmungen vom Hostel waren unverschämt teuer, weshalb kein Gast diese machen wollte.

Die Sanitäranlagen müssen dringend erneuert werden. Wir hatten einen Tag lang Stromausfall, wobei die anderen Hotels Strom hatten. Obwohl der Generalmanager im Hause war, gab es keinerlei Informationen wobei die ganzen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sehr nett und hilfreich sind. Lage vom Hostel ist sehr, sehr schön. Zugang nur über den Strand möglich. Wir hatten das Privatzimmer wie von vielen erwähnt gibt es keine Klimaanlage. Ist sehr außerhalb man muss dringend ein Roller mieten. Im großen Ganzen hat es uns trotzdem sehr gefallen wir haben fünf Tage verbracht.

Tolle Lage direkt am langen Sandstrand vom Napcan Beach.

Eigentlich hieß es beim Check-In, dass die Musik nur bis spätestens 00.30 Uhr spielen würde. Leider gibg es meist bis 2 Uhr Nachts, aber so laut und mit heftigen Beat Schlägen, dass an schlafen nicht zu denken war. Für junge Leute mit Drang zur Party sicherlich die richtige Location, für uns leider nicht - unser Fehler! Preislich kommt man bei anderen Unterkünften am gleichen Strand wohl günstiger weg. Kaffee fanden wir überteuert. Super: kostenlose Wasser Nachfüllstation. Unser Häuschen stand ganz am Ende: tolle Matratzen, leider ab und an Fäkalgeruch. Sonst in Ordnung. Ein Tipp von uns: Einlagen im Schrank wären toll

Toilets and showers barley worked and were cold they said music would end 10pm but it didn’t and was way too loud, also no aircon in the rooms

Había muchísimo ruido siempre, no llegando a respetar el horario de aquellos que necesitaban madrugar, en mi habitación no había aire acondicionado, la habitación no muy limpia, tuve un problema con mi taquilla y tardaron casi un día en contestarme, me perdieron ropa en la lavadora.

Nous avons aime la convivialité de l’endroit, l’emplacement sur la plage, calme par rapport à El nido centre. Nous conseillons de louer un scooter pour bien visiter. Nous tenons à remercier Princess et Rovy très gentilles et serviables ! Vraiment!

Restauration chère et tout n’était pas disponible dans les plats et boissons à la carte.

Awesome party hostel. Plenty going on. The beach is superb. Private room was really comfy and the shared showers were fine. Nice and secluded down one end of the beach.

Nel menu che mettono a disposizione sono più le cose non disponibili di quelle che si possono mangiare. Staff non sempre gentile e hanno addirittura sbagliato a comunicare il posto in cui avrebbe dovuto lasciarci la navetta. Casino fino a tardi, magari ogni giorno festa fino alle 2 di notte non è sempre piacevole per chi si sveglia molto presto la mattina. Per quello che costa questo ostello ci si aspetta qualcosa di più ecco.

Está demasiado lejos del centro de El Nido, son 30 minutos en moto, no se puede llegar al hostel ni siquiera en moto porque hay q dejar a 400 metros aproximadamente la moto para llegar al hostel. Las habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado lo que hace imposible dormir en las habitaciones. El restaurante tiene un menú amplio, pero más de las mitad del menú no estaba disponible cuando ordenaba algo, mal administrado en ese aspecto.

Great location and the amazing mad monkey brand was fully upheld by the amazing volunteer reps. No one does this better than mad monkey and it is great to meet new people.

However, at this location, the admin and reception staff really let the brand down. They were never very friendly and it almost felt like questions were hard work for them and they were dismissive. We stayed in the teepee SDT1 and they talked loudly until way past 1am and early in the morning. At one point we even had to ask them to be quiet. We felt very awkward as it is not our vibe to complain but we felt it really let down the otherwise immaculate vibes by the team.

Nice hostel directly at the beach - tho you have to walk there, it’s no road leading directly to the hostel. The beach is beautiful Although it was not fully booked the vibe at the bar was nice

They changed a lot within the last years and is was better back then. Also half of the menu was not available (although it was high season), they just didn’t care. Ordering and the bar staff is exhausting, also the atm machine is not working half of the time. Bar staff is not doing a really good job

Lokacija, vzdušje v hostlu direktno na plaži z ležalniki, čudovita čista plaža, udobna postelja, lepo vzdrževani skupni wc-ji in kopalnice.

Izbrali smo sobe v nadstropju, vendar je dostop po stopnicah kar strm. V zadnji sobi pa je bil zelo moteč tudi generator poleg hostla.

Bonne auberge pour faire la fête et beaucoup boire ! Et la journée, profitez de cette magnifique plage.

The place was horrible run down falling apart dirty and way over priced I would not recommend staying there to anyone it's gross and they also promote young backpackers getting dangerously blackout drunk

No hay aire acondicionado, sin agua caliente, internet funciona fatal (cuando funciona) y a pesar de estar en el medio de la nada hay mucho ruido alrededor. En la época que fui (mitad diciembre) estaba bastante vacío

Świetna atmosfera i bajeczna lokalizacja. Byliśmy z grupą 11 osobową , zajęliśmy 6 pokoi dwuosobowych co było znaczną częścią obiektu. Przywitalne party pozostanie w naszej pamięci na długo ;-) Obiekt ma fantastyczny bar , ciekawe niedrogie jedzenie , leżaki dla mieszkańców hostelu, masaże. Raj na Ziemii ;-) Co prawda mieliśmy pecha bo trafiliśmy na bardzo silny tajfun Kalmaegi który uderzył bezpośrednio w Nacpan Beach ale manager hotelu Anthony ( pozdrawiamy ) profesjonalnie zajął się ewakuacją do bezpiecznego miejsca w głębi lądu. Wejście do hostelu od strony plaży co powoduje że trzeba ciągnąć walizkę po plaży kilkaset metrów.

Gre za party hostel, kar pomeni, da je glasno ponoči in zjutraj. Primerno za malde in ljudi, ki se radi družijo pozno v noč. Sobe niso klimatizirane, so pa ventilatorji. Lokacija nima telefonskega signala, WiFi občastno ne deluje.

Der Strand

Mein Aufenthalt im Mad Monkey war leider eine Aneinanderreihung von Enttäuschungen. Im Zimmer gab es lediglich ein dünnes Tuch als Decke, ausschließlich kaltes Wasser und direkt vor dem Raum lag eine Fußmatte mit sichtbaren Blutflecken. Bei starkem Regen – und das kommt dort häufig vor – läuft das Wasser direkt ins Zimmer. Ich bin tatsächlich nachts im Bett nass geworden. Das Zimmer selbst ist extrem klein. Man kann eigentlich nur in der Mitte aufrecht stehen, und mit zwei Personen wird es unfassbar eng. Der Raum war zudem stickig, obwohl wir nicht einmal heiße Temperaturen hatten. Der Ventilator ist nicht verstellbar und damit kaum hilfreich. Zwei von drei Steckdosen funktionierten nicht, und es gibt keinerlei Möglichkeit, Kleidung aufzuhängen oder zu trocknen. Das Internet ist eine Zumutung. Es lädt praktisch nichts – Remote-Arbeit ist hier komplett unmöglich. Auch die Lage ist ungünstig: El Nido liegt rund 40 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, mit dem Roller sogar noch länger. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind weit entfernt und zudem kostenpflichtig. Insgesamt ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis viel zu teuer. Der erste Abend war bereits ein Schock: Um 19 Uhr befand sich Erbrochenes im Waschbecken des Gemeinschaftsbads. Getränke sind völlig überteuert – immerhin gibt es direkt links nebenan eine Strandbar mit fairen Preisen, guten Drinks und sehr gutem Essen. Die Kommunikation war chaotisch und frustrierend. Bereits bei der Anreise sprach ich mehrere Probleme an, wurde aber nur an den Mad-Monkey-Support verwiesen, der mir erklärte, dass man „am Tag der Anreise nichts mehr ändern könne“. Als ich in der dritten Nacht erneut meldete, dass mein Bett durch den Regen nass geworden war, wusste niemand dort etwas von meiner ersten Beschwerde. Parallel dazu stand ich über Wochen mit dem Support wegen eines Pakets in Kontakt. Anfangs wirkte es, als wolle man helfen, bis klar wurde, dass ich jedes Mal mit einer anderen Person schrieb.

In the evening it’s party time - every night until midnight. The microphone/ music is really too loud&noisy! It’s ok when you make party yourself of course, but not every night…. ;) We actually even stayed 2 nights longer than expected, because of the great relaxed atmosphere over the day, but at nighttime we needed noise cancelling EarPods :D

Il n’y a pas de chemin prévu pour les personnes qui voyagent avec une valise, il faudra donc passer par la plage. La wi-fi ne fonctionne pas dans les chambres.

To be fair, I was really looking forward to staying at this nice hostel since I have been to the other location across Asia. However , location was pretty far away from the town and also there was a construction going on which made my first and only night there so hard.

I had to move out next day and booked a different hostel. Lost my money and since I have paid for my brother private room , also that one was lost

The staff was really great and the location of the hostel is amazing - probably one of the best beachfront areas just outside of El Nido. It was low season, so they upgraded my room for free which was a nice bonus.

I wasn't aware that they were doing renovations to the place, so it was a bit of a shock to have the entire bar area missing. It was still business as usual though, and they were able to serve food and drinks throughout my stay. I just wish there was some disclaimer about low season and the work that they were doing in the hostel, which might have made me reconsider the booking. I still enjoyed though and now have a reason to come back when the place is back in full swing.

El acceso no es directo, sino por la playa, lo que en cierto modo lo hace también interesante. Hay mucha fiesta nocturna, aunque mucha gente es lo que busca.

NO AIRCON, NO HOT WATER, NO BOTTLED WATER, STRAY DOGS FREELY ROAM IN THE BAR, EXTREAMLY PRICY FOOD, PURELY PARTY HOSTEL WHICH DOESN'T INTERESTED TO ASSIST TOURS AROUND AND NOT LIKE OTHER MM AROUND ASIA.MONEY MINDED HOSTEL.

Staff was friendly, food was good. There was a lot of fun activities in the evening. Location is superb, Nacpan beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in el nido if not the top 1.

Magnifique couché de soleil

Very disappointing – not worth it despite the beachfront location We stayed at Mad Monkey El Nido from May 23rd to May 26th, and by the second day, we were already looking forward to leaving. Even though the hostel is right on the beach, it’s poorly located — far from town and difficult to access. You have to rely on their paid shuttle to get anywhere, which is inconvenient and overpriced. The issue wasn’t with the local staff, who were kind and helpful, but with the foreign staff — in particular Aronn and James — who came off as arrogant, condescending, and only interested in talking to us when trying to sell overpriced tours or push shots at the bar. There was no real hospitality or warmth, just constant sales pressure. The food was overpriced and the portions were tiny. Definitely not good value for money. Our room was okay, but there was no air conditioning, only a weak fan. It was incredibly hot at night, making it hard to get any decent sleep. The worst part was the paid shuttle to Puerto Princesa airport. It was supposed to leave at 4 AM — it showed up at 6 AM. And it only had space for 10 people while there were 15 of us. Completely disorganized and stressful. We do not recommend staying here. There are far better options in El Nido with better service, better management, and more respect for guests.

Beautiful view, not very commercialized beach

The rep, Harry, was great. Made everyone feel included, did a great job with the social events, and when I had a problem, he dealt with it quickly and kindly. Nacpan beach is also perfect - great views and a quiet and clean beach.

In my opinion the great value of this hostel is the location, Nacpan beach is a dream and the place is basically on the beach! You can enjoy the hostel's sunbeds, the cafe is very nice as well, I really liked the food. They organize party and events during the evenings, very cool.

Staff really friendly and helpful (Kyra and Leonard were always ready for all my questions and supported me with all the activities that I asked for and offered me even more options). The locations is just amazing.

The hostel is quite far out but that means you get more involved in the activities going on at the hostel. It’s really social and I’d recommend as a solo traveller. The rooms / showers are very basic but if you have a few drinks, you’ll soon forget about that! There’s also a fab long stretch of beach to walk down and it’s quiet which I loved

Kyra, Kenny and the team looked after us and helped plan tours, excursions and activities. The hostel is really fun with daily activities and a great place to meet many travellers.

There was a scarcity of water and the bathrooms are pretty average…………… although the location was stunning
