Lovely hotel, great staff, great location
The wine and cocktails were not good
Just wanted to write my personal review and experience of Bluebay The rooms are VERY outdated and the sleep quality was terrible. The keycards sometimes don’t work and had to be replaced multiple times they really need a wristband key system instead which the receptionists agreed with. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and you only get one pillow per person so none of us slept well. The room AC was also very loud. On top of that there are no lifts so if you have prams or wheelchair users you would need to book a ground floor room well in advance. The pool area was no better as it was very overcrowded every day. People reserved all the sunbeds with towels early in the morning and then didn't even use them. You couldn't find anywhere to sunbathe near the pool and there’s barely enough umbrellas so you’re just stuck in the sun with no shade. On a positive note we did get waterpark tickets included with our booking which was nice (Aquapark is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel). The food was another major disappointment the restaurant and snack bar served the same options every day with a lot of it being very bland. Hygiene was also an issue especially at the buffet and snack station where we repeatedly saw kids touching the burgers with their hands and putting them back onto the trays. This isn’t the staff's fault but it should be noted that it isn’t okay! I’m giving 2 stars because the housekeeping was decent and the hotel is kept clean but the overall atmosphere is just very outdated. If you find this place for a very cheap price and just need a basic family stay it might work for you. For £2,100 for 4 nights though it was nowhere near worth the money and I wouldn't recommend it at all which is a shame because with a bit of revamping it could be a 4 star hotel.
After reading a lot of not good reviews on this hotel after we booked it.... I wasnt expecting much ...... BUT.... It was good and bad. Food: Too repeative food offered in restaurant Restaurant Staff: Not efficient enough clearing plates off the table , when finished dinner or lunch. Reception staff: Ok, quite friendly Location: Perfect location though for Hotel and taxi into town ONLY 5 EUROS 🥰 POOL: Bit run down but was ok. Rooms: Need ALOT of work updating Would rather a Bath than a Shower Towels only changed every 3 days. Accessibility: Hotel needs LIFTS as well as stairs, no lifts. Entertainment Reps: They were amazing though for Day and Night Entertainment Overall it was ok for a last minute August Holiday but I will definitely go back to my usual 4 star hotels abroad, as this was 3 star and it missed a lot.
Positives- entertainment staff were amazing. Most staff were friendly, especially in the dining area. Food was good and never too busy. Lots of negatives Just about clean enough, but cleaning staff are always present. Cockroaches. Rooms are very run down. Noisy, you can hear everything from other rooms. Not a huge amount to do in the area. A few small shops to get water and food etc... Entertainment needs updating. No kids clubs on Saturday or Sunday.
After obsessing over the reviews for this hotel, I was absolutely dreading staying at this hotel but once we arrived my fears melted away and things were not as bad as they were made out to be. Yes the hotel is in major need of renovation BUT so are so many other places including hotels in Costa Teguise. When I was told we were staying in the dreaded E block, I was expecting a walking into a hovel but I couldn't have been more wrong. The block was clean, tidy and well maintained. A tad breezy but considering how hot it was, it was very welcoming. When we got to our room we found a small visitor on the floor which was no big thing and we removed him and put it outside. Under the sink there was a can of cockroach spray that we never used as we just removed them ourselves. The sofa bed was a little dated and showed signs of wear and tear and the bathroom door had the vinyl peeling off and the wardrobe hinge was incredibly squeaky but nothing that made us want to move rooms. There were two safes in our room but only one was usable and we got the key from reception and paid €35 for a our 10 day stay (€3 per day and a €5 refundable deposit). The beds were incredibly comfortable and spare bedding was in the wardrobe. We slept incredible well throughout our stay. The only slight problem we had with the sofa bed was that the pull out was slightly higher so my husband and I slept on the separate sections which were both very comfortable. The bed put together was bigger than a kingsize so there was more than enough space. The staff throughout the hotel were so friendly from the second we arrived, we especially loved Sarah and Carlos in the restaurant that were so engaging with us especially my son who has ASD and ADHD and made like we were the only guests in the hotel by the way the spoke and interacted with us. The food in the restaurant was good (slightly saltier than we have at home) and with two children with ARFID they even managed to eat even if it was the same thing every day. The grill always had either meat or fish and the themed nights like Taco, Asian were lovely. The pasta bar was always freshly cooked with various sauces and the salad bar had so many different types my husband was spoilt for choice. The freshly cooked pizza was delicious with various flavour. The only downside to the hotel was they only do one type of beer and the wine avavilable was white, rose, red or sangria which wasn't to my palate but it was drinkable. The breakfast spread was incredible with so many different things to choose, the fresh pancake station and churros were a firm favourite with my two children. The snack bar food was incredibly repetitive but edible but the endless ice cream was a firm favourite. If you want a broader variety of food then visit the restaurant between 1-3pm. The pool area was ok, we managed to get sun beds everyday but there was more than enough seating in the shade if you didnt want to lie in the sun. The pool does need repairing and there were large patches of cracked plaster which could cause injury due to sharp edges. The only complaint I have about a staff member is the young lifeguard at the weekends who could not been less bothered about his job. He sat the whole time in front of the pool tables drinking, smoking and watching his phone which was the complete opposite to the other life guard who was always on the move ensuring sun beds were lined up to not create hazard and watching the water. The entertainment staff were lovely and did some great activities that involved everyone in the water and myself and son even took part in one which was great fun. The pool area also has a shelving unit for people to leave items like suncream, inflatables and even clothing which came in handy. We didn't access the evening entertainment as that's not really our thing so I cant comment on that. The Jet2 rep Denise we had was very helpful and accommodating when there was an error to an excursion I booked (Sunday Market) which was rectified but due to a breakdown in communication we ended going to the Market on the normal bus rather than the coach as it arrived 10 minutes earlier than the coach. Please wait for the coach as trying to get back from the Teguise Market on the normal bus is atrocious which cause no end of problems due to my children's SEN. Overall we had a lovely stay at BlueBay and each review is their own opinion but as long as you have a realistic expectation of a 3* hotel but we might return in the future as we used our apartment for its intended purpose, to sleep, wash and change as there is so many places to visit in and out of Costa Teguise.
Not much it needs a renovation, the pool was good but could be heated
I didn’t like the smell of sewage, the room flood and the fact staff refused to help
Pros:- The pool area was amazing if your going to spend a lot of your time here then you’ll have a great holiday. We traveled with a 7 and 11 year old and they both loved it. The entertainment team were so friendly and great with the activities and the everyone. The food was as you would expect for a 3 star hotel, the fresh pizzas were nice and never had and problems finding something we like there. The staff were all lovely. Reception staff were really helpful, the staff in dining were great with kids. The entertainment team were really friendly too. Location was great a short walk to a good supermarket and also a really safe feeling area too. The transfer from the airport is about 20 minutes and the hotel is very close to the water park and the aquarium. Cons:- These are things I would say we didn’t get caught up on and didn’t let ruin our holiday. The rooms are spacious but in desperate need of renovations. The beds are all bowed and legs all damaged (spoke with a few people and a lot of the same in other rooms) The shower didn’t drain when on full power so showered with less pressure for the week, We’re were in D block and the view was nice. Rooms were a bit noisy but were cleaned nicely regularly. The drink choices are pretty standard for an all inclusive. The entertainment show are quite short some are ok some are very good. We didn’t have a problem with getting towels by pool but that’s because we were early risers. But still beds available by the time we went for breakfast. Best positions go early like 7am but think that’s the same anywhere From everything would we return to the hotel. I would say maybe if we got a good deal, wouldn’t be our first choice though. Did it stop us having a great holiday? Absolutely not and that’s all you ask for. For a 3star all inclusive holiday in kids holidays you could do a lot worse. I would say very good value for money.
I was a bit worried about coming after seeing some of the reviews but I needn't have been. I came with my son who is nine and we had a great time. We stayed in block AB on the third floor, the room was spacious and clean and had a lovey view from the balcony. The food was good and there was a good selection for our 5 night stay. I can imagine if you were staying for two weeks it might get a bit tiring though. The staff were all amazing, cheerful and attentive especially the man at reception who remembered our names throughout our stay and could book a taxi in seconds. The entertainment was good, my son especially enjoyed the pool games and the magic carpet and to my surprise also took part in the mini disco. This was my first experience of all inclusive as I normally go on villa holidays and I have to say I was impressed. This was a good value holiday and worth the money paid.
I have just come back from a 10 nights stay at blue bay with my family . Overall I would say great hotel for families . My children loved the pool area , and the unlimited ice cream and snacks during the day, there was hot dogs, salads, burgers. Chips pasta/rice , fried onions all sorts couldn’t fault the snack bar at all. Drinks are serve yourself for soft drinks and beer which I liked . Staff were very helpful , special mention to Sarah who was such a lovely lady always smiling and really made you feel She was happy to see you. The kids club I would say wouldn’t be so good if it wasn’t for aris. He is brilliant, I lost my finger nail playing water polo and he was really helpful with this. He gets everyone involved and is really good at remembering everyone’s names i noticed so a special mention to him too! The breakfast here is delicious, something for everyone from cooked breakfast to lots of fruit yoghurt and cereal and also pancakes and pastries . Lunch time we only ate a couple times but was always nice again something for everyone , the evening meal not so great in my opinion there was a lot of repeats and alot of pork! We ate out a lot and there is a pizza takeaway next door that was lovely . Lots of shops close by and the square is just a 15 mins walk or €3.50 in a taxi . There was so many places to eat outside of the hotel Close by a gorgous Chinese all you can eat buffet down the road. Great karaoke bar in town called jesters although prams not allowed. The market on the Sunday is brilliant but definitely book this way in advance as there is only 1-2 coaches for the whole island I was told. The pool area here is so relaxed it allows you to have as many floats as you want in the pool and play ball games Iv been to places before where it’s not allowed . It’s very much guests can do as they please vibe within reason. There was also a ‘life guard’ present although he was very pleasant I would suggest a refresher first aid course. To get a brolly around the pool you need to get up early otherwise they’re taken! So defo need more of them. Luckily we always got one each day. Now.. the down side to the hotel . I would say is the rooms. Unfortunately they let this hotel down massively. We stayed in room E121 and although I appreciated the ground floor as there is no lifts here ! It did however smell very bad. It smelt of drains and sewage . It was not a dirty room but it jusf felf dirty. Towel changes are every 3 days which I think is too long and felt we were using mucky towels , the cleaners tried their best but I don’t think our sheets were changed the whole time we was there and at one point had to ask for toilet role at the reception as we were not left any. They just need a lot of TLC to boost this hotel. I think you get what you pay for here , I think if the rooms were better and there were improvements I would return , however I’d want to be sure I was again on a ground floor especially as I have 3 young children 1 being disabled I’d not like to think I was up the stairs! But yeah great hotel for families , great location, great staff , food not bad . Oh and we did not watch one bad show here . The evening entertainment was always 10/10 . Thanks blue bay !
Just returned last night from 10 nights at BlueBay. Overall we had a brilliant holiday. Staff in the restaurant ..all lovely and friendly..especially Carlos and the lady who checked people into the restaurant some mornings. Breakfast was great..big selection of cooked breakfast, pancakes, eggs several ways, pastries, cold meats and cheese. Lunch and dinner could always find something to eat..mainly the pizzas which were delicious. Could do with more clear labels on some of the foods such as the pasta..unclear what they were some days.l..would be helpful if they were marked vegetarian or similar at least. The animation team were brilliant..lovely people, involved everyone, worked tirelessly to ensure every win enjoyed their holiday and cared about the guests…special thanks to Aris and Lucie who we enjoyed doing the darts, water polo etc with. Great asset to the hotel. Only downside really were the beds. We were in block E. Sofa bed had ants in it, very uncomfortable mattress. Beds in the main bedroom very uncomfortable, although the children managed to get some sleep . Disappointing as the beds let the stay down. Air con in the room was great and much appreciated. Hotel in great location with local shops a short walk away then a nice longer walk along the sea front to the main town. Could do with more regular veggie options, more clear signing of food in the restaurant. Snack bar was very good . Evening entertainment was varied. We would return if the bed situation improved.
Not usually one to leave a review but I feel the negative reviews aren’t very justified that I’ve seen for this hotel. Yes the hotel rooms are outdated and could do with being spruced up a little but they are clean and everything works as it should and unless you’re planning on spending a lot of time in your rooms I don’t see the issue. Staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and love all of the children. This hotel is very child and family oriented so maybe not the best for couples etc, but our 4 and 7 year old have had the best time. Food is lovely, hot and fresh and replenished very quickly and there’s something for everyone. There are plenty of sun beds round the pool area and they don’t allow you to reserve sunbeds so there is always one to be found, the pools are lovely for children and they’re allowed lilos floats balls etc. The grounds throughout the hotel are well maintained. The price we paid for this holiday all inclusive for the week was exceptional value compared to a lot of other similar hotels. There is so much to do nearby, we went to the aquarium, rancho Texas, waterpark and playa de las Cucharas beach which is a beautiful beach with lots of shops and lovely beach bars. There is a beach within walking distance of the hotel but it’s black sand rather than golden sand but we still enjoyed it and were able to spot lots of hermit crabs, fish and pretty shells. The cocktail choices are fab with beer on draught, fizzy pop including Coca Cola and hot drinks available. We thought it was great that you could get drinks until 12pm and the food at the pool bar was lovely. We haven’t stopped eating since we’ve been here. Honestly had a wonderful family holiday so don’t be put off from negative reviews if you’re after a value for money lovely family holiday.
Honestly, it was ok, been better hotels etc so we expected just about what we got, had a 2 bed family room which was huge and 2 bathrooms, bit of a rubbish view but we hadn't requested anything so there we go! Breakfast was great (i don't get people saying Breakfast is repetitive, what do have for breakfast!) Mainly did pool bar for lunch which suited us and dinner was very 3 star, pudding was awful though no real thought! Pool needs a touch up but to do so they'd need to close for a month I imagine, it was cold but most pools are, few grumpy staff, dark haired woman in shop, clearly her phone more important and happy Sonia on reception, rest were great including Pasc, the man who took you to table in evenings and most bar staff. The area is really nice especially the square in the evenings , would go back to the area but probably try another hotel
Just got back from blue bay, when I arrived I thought oh no what have I booked. Pool area and water wasn’t good, our rooms the E block were tired and smelt a bit. Furniture is really in a need of repair and replacing. My daughter had 4 cockroaches . We did arrive late on. Anyway we got up and yes the rooms let the place down it could be so much better. The food : Breakfast is fabulous, dinner is nice , tea only went a few times. Snacks throughout day fantastic for kids. Sarah on reception is so helpful and a wonderful woman( Thankyou for being you x). Maid on E block worked so hard and our room was looked after very well. Entertainment staff were great especially the young lad. All in all we had a fantastic time and loved it. The whole place just needs a bit of TLC( especially the rooms. Would go back if they did the rooms up. Thankyou tho we did enjoy our stay.
El personal y la ubicación
Las habitaciones y las instalaciones están súper descuidadas y muy antiguas
We travelled as a book group and was feeling worried after reading some bad reviews but can honestly say we had a great holiday. The rooms are a great size to allow the kids to play with room during the evenings before heading out. Rooms were cleaned daily expect for Wednesdays which was fine. Hotel could do with some little upgrades like newer mattresses on the pull out beds but the beds were still ok. The pool area was always tidy, staff were always going around picking things up where people had left things behind. Water wasn’t as cold as we thought it might be. Kids and adults in there for hours without a worry about the temperature. Food was ok, was different selections each night with a few kids options that stayed everyday which was handy with fussy kids. Could do with a few more desert options and maybe a later dinner time as dinner finishes at 9:15. Entertainment was different every night but something for everyone through out the week. Staff throughout the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. We travelled as group of 23 and they always tried to keep us together when eating in the restaurant and helping us call for lots of taxis on days out. Hotel is close to many nice beaches, lots of great restaurants and the water park. Overall we had an amazing holiday and was sad to leave. Thank you Bluebay!
I have just returned from a very up and down 7 day break through Jet 2, at Blue Bay in Costa Teguise with my husband and 11 year old daughter. Leading up to this holiday, which was booked quite spontaneously due to annual leave issues, I was nervous about the negative Trip Advisor reviews. In my opinion most of these opinions are correct! It’s really important to understand that there is no compromise - you are paying for and getting a 3 star hotel. In fact, I would say some areas of the hotel are a 2 star. If you come expecting this - then you shouldn’t be too dissapointed. Having stayed in a number of 3 star hotels I like to think I have good basis for comparison. No part of this complex offers luxury of any kind, and will probably just become a base for you during the stay. First … the positives: I was actually pleasantly surprised with our big room. Yes … it could do with a lick of paint and the furniture / paint work is dated and old. However, it was clean and for us spacious. I was bewildered to discover that water is not provided - you have to buy it yourself. Definitely worth baring in mind if you arrive on a late flight and no where is open! Refills are only available in the restaurant or pool bar .. tap water only. Housekeeping for us was very good! And a couple of times I left them a cute note in Spanish (courtesy of Chat GPT) and a tip, requesting things like new sheets / sand swept etc) and this was done. The all inclusive food was sadly the worst I have ever had on holiday. Over half the food on offer is carb heavy / beige bread / pasta / pizza / nuggets /… your basic Iceland frozen stuff. All food kept under hot lamps for hours. For the more adventurous you can try the other stews / curries / paella’s etc etc on offer but the quality is poor. 2 examples that spring to mind include some kind of sausage stew - which had a thick layer of oil at the top 🤢 And some pork skewers … the pork was like chewing cardboard! The dessert section was god awful, little square cakes / tinned fruit / yoghurt. If you have any food intolerances you’re pretty much screwed. I have a dairy intolerance and other than fruit and jelly there was nothing else. The salad / cold meat section IMO was unsanitary. No refrigeration for food sat for potentially 3-4 hours, and completely open to the elements. Food is often reused later and mixed into some pasta / salad concoction. Drink wise - wine / sangria is machine provided and is just gross. High sugar and just blurgh 😣 Cocktails are the same. You can buy a nice mojito at €7 a time. Needless to say we did eat out at least 3 or 4 times during our stay. The staff were also very mixed, the vast majority visibly work their socks off, work long hours, and are polite. My only real issues were with the reception staff on occasion. Most were polite but a couple were rude and obnoxious. When I went to ask about the provision of water for example - I was ignored for almost ten minutes whilst the reception staff continued to converse about an app on a phone 🤦🏻♀️ Entertainment was pretty average - loud … Baby Shark kinda vibe. If you have a young family this will be great fun for you! The magic show we watched was actually quite good .. and I’m still scratching my head with how a few of the tricks were done. Finally … the other main issue here for us was other guests. Many people, like yourself perhaps, have saved long and hard and worked extra shifts for months to afford a holiday where you can spend just a few days relaxing in another climate! A good proportion of guests however seem intent on getting as p*ssed as possible and treating it like a lad’s holiday. Little humans run around screaming until well after midnight .. including really tiny ones that my heart just went out to. Our first night we were kept awake until 2am because a dad was trying to teach his kids how to somersault into the pool. All sunbeds are reserved by 7am despite the no reservation rule. I removed some towels from a set of 3 that had been left for several hours well into the afternoon … only to be yelled at by another family related to the ‘owners’ next door. Another time a group of teenagers were having a soft drink fight at the pool bar… leaving a disaster zone for the staff to clean up. I have so many examples .. 😢 To conclude - we will definitely NOT be holidaying here again. Your mindset will dictate the quality of your stay …. Treat the hotel as your base, and get out and about the enjoy the many amazing sights of Lanzarote, and you’ll be OK. My top tips are to rent a car and visit the Visitor’s Centre at Los Volanes natural park, visit the Rancho Texas Lanzarote park - half zoo / half water park, have lunch at El Golfo and see the green lagoon, and visit James del Aqua …. Fascinating place!
1st all inclusive family holiday for us and we had a wonderful relaxing stay. The breakfast lunch and dinner food were excellent. Great for kids and adults and rotating options each day. Snacks during the day also good, especially for kids. Staff in the hotel very friendly and efficient the entire stay. Entertainment at the pool during the day and in the theatre area at night. Our room was clean and tidy. The sofa bed could do with replacing (roomB107) as very worn however, it being a trundle bed rather than double sofa bed was great for kids ages 9 & 11 as they enjoyed having separate beds in terms of space. Rooms are a good size and the ground floor patio area is big. My only criticism would be that it could do with 4 chairs as opposed to 2 so that everyone can relax there together. There are some areas of the swimming pool that could do with repair (peeling on the floor) but it didn't affect everyone's enjoyment of the pool. Sun loungers being reserved and not being used all day was an issue. It would be good if this was monitored more often and towels removed by staff for fairness but I understand this is common at all inclusive resorts. More parasols given the high heat would be a bonus. On our last day, we were allowed to keep our wrist bands until our taxi arrived 4:30 which was a bonus. We could have lunch and drinks and kids got a last dip in the pool. Reception arranged our taxi etc and were very helpful. Great that we could store luggage upon and arrival and on check out. Shops and a couple of bars 5 mins around the corner if you need some supplies or fancy a change of scenery. Playa Bastian beach 5 mins walk away was lovely and Costa tequise centre around 15 mins walk away. We walked in a couple of times and a taxi back was just under 4 euros and there's lots going around at all times. The constant breeze was great by the pool. We would return to this hotel happily for a family holiday.
Just returned from a week in the sun from Costa Teguise and The BlueBay Hotel. Firstly if you have booked, it will not disappoint! Secondly reading reviews leading up to our trip, I can say I was worried. But that obviously turned out to people that complain about anything and obviously are used to the Ritz Carlton. The hotel itself is a little bit worn and old in places, but is clean with excellent staff throughout who make you feel so welcome. The bar staff, restaurant staff and the animation team were all brilliant and made the holiday even more enjoyable. The rooms when cleaned daily apart from Wednesdays were done to a very high standard and we did not see a single cockroach during our time there. We stayed in E block and it was so quiet at night. Now onto the food. There is very adequate amount to choose from daily for breakfast, lunch and inner and snacks are available the whole day from 11am-5pm (including ice-cream). Another aspect about the food that it is very tasty, in fact is better than most 4-star hotels I've stayed at. The location again reading other reviews baffled me (as many reviews said there was nothing around the hotel). There is a supermarket 7 mins walk from the hotel and other little shops, bars and restaurants to the immediate left of the hotel. 10 mins straight on out of the hotel, is the water park and 12 mins to the right the main Costa Teguise square. The entertainment is good and we recommend the "Argentine Fusion" act, which was brilliant. I only have two negatives about the BlueBay> 1. There is no alcohol free beer available on the all inclusive package, but available to buy. 2. The pool rules could be tighter. The afternoon especially seems to be a free for all and there was only one lifeguard during our visit with glasses who seemed to be enforcing any type of order. Grown ups and bigger children hurling themselves into the pool not making it a nice environment. Last bits to those reviews slating the hotel. I was up early every morning as my body clock would need more than a week to adjust. Yes you do have to be up earlyish to secure a prime sunbed location, but if you are up early you see the maintenance team out in force cleaning, jet washing and doing their bit. Whilst we were there 20 new parasols went up around the pool, so another plus. Great stay, ticked all the boxes for children and families, would return!!!
Fantastic few days in this hotel, lovely hotel, pool good, love the idea of the cage of inflatables /noodles left by people to use after they gone. Food good, always something to suit everyone. Would come again, lovely location, relaxed atmosphere. No silly rules that you get at some hotels of only 3 drinks at a time, etc.
Entertainment was amazing from the klan entertainment
Arrival at Blue Bay checked in by tad unfriendly concierge who failed to mention to myself or daughter along with 2 little ones, 3 cases and a buggy that there was a ramp leading from main building to concourse leading to the dubious Block E, consequently dragged all down set of steps & then up 2 sets of stairs to our accommodation. Room was clean but old and definitely in need of some refurbishing. Bed comfortable but bedding unchanged during our stay, towels changed once. Dead and dying cockroaches daily on stairwells and once in room, fully understand that they are common in this climate but having holidayed for many years in Lanzarote can honestly say have never seen so many. All inclusive food was excellent and provided great choice. Staff in dining room and bars always friendly and helpful. My grandchildren loved the mini disco at 8.30 every night and the 2 ladies that ran it were excellent. Pool area was very grim. Lots of rubbish, clothing and towels left around by other holiday makers. Both pools were not the cleanest, in the main pool I saw hair, bits of tissue, food and the content of someone’s nasal cavities!! The kids pool was partly taped off on our arrival as I believe a child had cut their foot, tape remained until removed by other children, unclear if repaired !! Coating on both pools peeling away leaving some very sharp areas. Sunbeds - mostly broken and a few new ones, great lack of parasols, I did ask if they had any as we had a little one to keep shaded but told a curt “no”. Have never been a member of the towel on sunbed brigade but at this resort it’s a necessity if you want a sunbed, hated doing it. As a family we did have a wonderful holiday. Blue Bay is a budget friendly family hotel, although the price we paid for our school holidays holiday we felt it fell well short of our expectations and the photos on Jet2’s website is not a true reflection of the reality that awaits you at the Blue Bay. If it was to be fully and completely refurbished I’m sure it would be an excellent hotel but I suppose then the prices would increase.
We recently stayed here for a 10 night family holiday (3 generations). I had requested 2 rooms either inter-connected or the rooms to be beside each other as my mam has mobility issues. We were first assigned 2 rooms, apparently interconnected, on the third floor (hotel has no lifts) but when the receptionists saw my mam’s walker they did a bit of jigging around and gave us 2 rooms on the ground floor but these were not beside each other like we asked and neither room had walk-in shower. She finds getting into baths very difficult. The rooms themselves were very run down with shabby furniture which had seen better days. All the Kallax type furniture was old and chipped. The whole place was tired and could do with a good refurb. There was litter blowing around the complex which was never cleared but increased by the day. We noticed a dirty nappy in the corner of the carpark outside the front door on our first day which was still in situ upon our departure 10days later. If you wanted coffee at lunch in the dining room you either had to make your own (in your room) or bring it in from the poolside bar as the coffee machines were only on durning breakfast in the dining room. The food was boring and rehashed to within an inch of its life. My daughter and I ventured into the pool, how we did not become ill I don’t know as the water was dirty and the water in the waterfall looked black at the top. The sun loungers, if you managed to get any (they would all be booked with towels on them from very early morning with nobody using them till lunchtime) were broken and in need of repair. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until it got a huge upgrade. The only positive I can say is that I found most of the staff very helpful and friendly
We’ve just returned from a week at BlueBay Lanzarote, travelling as a family with two children aged 3 and 13. Unfortunately, this was probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. That said, we still had a great holiday because we made the best of it and enjoyed exploring the island. The hotel is extremely dated and tired and, in our opinion, desperately needs a major refurbishment. Our room was clean when we arrived, but the housekeeping during our stay was disappointing. I believe our towels were only changed once, I don’t think the bedsheets were changed at all, and no cleaner came into our room on the Sunday or Monday. As a result, I had to ask for a dustpan and brush myself, wipe down the surfaces with antibacterial spray and use a bin bag I had brought from home because our bin was full. I have never experienced having to do this on holiday before, so I’m not sure whether this was an isolated issue or normal for the hotel. The beds were okay, although the sofa bed converted into two single beds, one of which was more like a very creaky camping bed. The pools are very cold, although once you’re in, you get used to it. They are also very tired, with the flooring peeling in both the main pool and the baby pool. The baby pool was particularly concerning, as the peeling floor had become extremely sharp (photo attached). At one point, the area was cordoned off with danger tape, but this disappeared a few days later and I couldn’t see that any repairs had been carried out. The staff, however, were friendly, helpful and welcoming. You can see that they are trying their best to keep the place clean and tidy, despite the condition of the hotel. Sunbed wars begin every morning, and I’m fairly sure some people leave their belongings on the sunbeds overnight. Many of the sunbeds are also extremely old, broken and very uncomfortable. The food was okay. There was plenty of choice and a good variety, although nothing was particularly amazing. We did eat out twice during our stay as we wanted to mix things up a little. We did see cockroaches around the resort, although thankfully never in our room. We got chatting to another family who showed us several cockroaches outside their ground-floor room in Block E, so there did appear to be an issue in that area. There are no lifts anywhere, which was frustrating with a pushchair. There are plenty of shops nearby where you can buy water, snacks and souvenirs, although after a week I was absolutely sick of seeing Pringles! The children’s entertainment was good for younger children. The kids’ disco at 8:30pm was a hit with our three-year-old, although there only seemed to be one or two girls running it and there was no proper animation team. There is also a small, dated playground on-site, which our daughter loved, and a kids’ club, although we didn’t use this so I can’t comment on it. There were activities during the day, including water polo and the magic carpet in the pool, which our 13-year-old enjoyed. Again, the staff are clearly trying their best. The weather was lovely and sunny while we were there, although the mornings were often overcast and the wind can be very deceptive. We saw so many people badly burnt, so definitely don’t underestimate the sun or the wind. Costa Teguise beach was incredibly windy during our stay, with big waves, and the watersports weren’t operating because of the high winds. We would definitely recommend taking a trip to Puerto del Carmen instead — it was much less windy when we went, the watersports were running and the water was crystal clear. Overall, this hotel has so much potential, but it honestly needs to be shut and completely refurbished. Another family we made friends with during our stay felt exactly the same way. Despite all of this, we still had a lovely holiday because we made the best of the situation and enjoyed getting out and exploring. The staff are friendly and genuinely seem to be trying, but the hotel itself is in desperate need of investment and a massive refurbishment. ⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ Overall rating: 2/5
We stayed with our grown children and grandchildren. The hotel itself is quite nice, despite having no lifts and rooms/pool area being run down. A little attention to these areas would make a huge difference. The food was good for a 3 star - pizzas were amazing- and the staff in kids club were excellent, Celia especially and Maria really made the holiday amazing for my Grandaughter. Over all, id say value for money was good and the only reason we probably won't return is location, and nothing to do with the hotel itself. There is nothing much around the hotel and lanzarote is not the island for us as it felt a little like an industrial estate with some bars and tat shops added.
we had a lovely time very friendly staff clean rooms clean pool typical all inclusive food , but still a good variety of food everyday
Hotel 10 mins walk to a small beach , Playa Bastian , 20 mins walk to main town , shops ,bars and beach . Very busy hotel , great for families, day time entertainment fab , evening entertainment not that good . Food is good, something for everyone, great pizza's! Staff really friendly! Need to get up early to get sunbeds!!! Rooms ok cleaned every day except Wed , towels changed every 3 days . Just be aware that if you have a late flight there is no shower facilities after you check out at 12 pm !!! Not good 😐
This hotel is good, but it has the potential to be great if a few things were improved. The rooms are a bit tired & needing some upgrades, but you really only sleep & shower in them. The food is really good, a great selection, plenty to choose from. During the day there's toasties/ burgers & salad if you don't want to go into the restaurant for lunch. The drinks are good too. The staff all work really hard, constantly clearing tables etc and all are really friendly. The main downside for me was the lack of shade & parasols at the pool, not everyone wants to fry all day in the sun, so this really needs sorted out. It's unfortunate, as the pool area is great otherwise. Also, it's €10 an HOUR to keep your room for a late checkout. If you're not willing to pay this, there is no shower room available at all, the only option is to shower at the pool. For a hotel this size, that's really poor. These things stopped me giving a 5 star review of an otherwise really nice holiday here.
Absolutely the worst holiday experience we’ve ever had. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to avoid staying in Block E. The rooms were filthy, dirty, and poorly maintained. There were cockroaches, bugs, and flies everywhere—on the floor, around the room, and even in the shower. It was completely unacceptable and made us feel uncomfortable throughout our stay. The standard of cleanliness was shocking and nowhere near what we expected. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. We complained and were moved to another room, but it was no better. The mattress was even replaced, yet it was still just as uncomfortable. None of the issues were properly resolved. The entertainment was virtually non-existent, leaving very little to do, especially in the evenings. For the amount we paid, we expected a much higher standard. We travelled as a family of 16, and every single one of us was left extremely disappointed. This hotel fell far below the standards we expected when booking through Jet2, and it certainly did not deliver the quality promised. The whole point of going on holiday is to come home feeling relaxed, refreshed, and like you’ve had a break. Instead, we came home feeling exhausted, stressed, and relieved that it was over. I have already submitted a formal complaint to Jet2 and am currently awaiting a response. After this experience, we will never return and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and book somewhere that values its guests.
So firstly I am giving my review which is my personal opinion & will of course differ from other people's. This is a 3 star hotel its not royalty so your paying for what you get. Personally I was petried before going due to the negative reviews but my family was right ignore them and see for yourself. I went as a single parent with 2 kids so it was stressful enough but I had no problems throughout. The only thing was the towel change overs it isnt frequent so I did wash them myself in the sink but thats just me. Food was spot on ive never actually eaten as much abroad even in 5 star hotel I really did enjoy all the food lots of variety and then simple options for kids cause one of mine just eats very plain. Yes the rooms are dated but I had no problems with my room we all slept pretty decent. Entertainment is 10 out of 10 mikey the 2 girls & the young lad were AMAZING 👏 🤩 enjoyed everything they did as they really put it together ( sorry I couldnt remember the names ) yasin I think he was called the waiter was so sweet and funny & Juan ( the egg man i called him ) was absolutely the sweetest soul ever 😀 every guest was so kind , nice and friendly and I met a lovely little family too we had the best of laughs !! so from my opinion I would deffo go back with it all been the same experience. Plenty to do local wise too water park , ranco texas , market and many more. Thank you blue bay 💙
Had a fantastic holiday with the family. You get exactly what you pay for at this place. Staff are brilliant apart from the lady at the snack bar who should not work in hospitality her attitude is rotten !!!! Food is ok decent enough options. Entertainment is not great at all both at night and during the day. Pools great and had zero issues getting 4 loungers all week. Rooms are clean and adequate but very uncomfortable beds never had a decent sleep all week. Hotel in general could be doing with spruse up its very very run down. Not somewhere I would return too but as I said you get what you pay for and overall we had a fantastic holiday.
Excellent hotel godd accommodation thoughtful fodder menu
If I could give zero I would. Hotel is dated. Rooms smell musty. Bathroom mouldy. Everything falling to bits. Couch mouldy. Air conditioning sounds like it's about to take off. Food lukewarm. Bland and not labelled well. Complained and hotel have confirmed it is dated and due a refurbished in next couple of years. Expensive for what you get. Impossible to get a sunbed or seat at entertainment in evening. Don't waste your money .
We arrived late at night check in was straightforward, got to the room was slightly disappointed as it wasn’t the cleanest, the mattresses were hard. We woke up in the morning and I felt like I was crawling with bugs looked at the bedside table and bugs all over it and on the bed! Receptionist sorted it straight away to be fair. Around the pool is slightly run down needs some tlc, most of the sunbeds were in-usable and the lack of parasols was a big issue. The poolside looks dirty and not well maintained but did the job. The all inclusive was ok plenty of choice we had breakfast and lunch in the hotel but choose to go out for our evening meals. We have fallen in love with the area, we will definitely come back here just to a different hotel.
My first time ever in lanzarote & we booked In at Bluebay! Wow, what a beautiful experience for me and the three children 😊. It's a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ star hotel.. had only ever stayed in 4 or 5s but was probably the the most accommodating place I had ever stayed at! One teeny little thing is yes the sofa beds and a few little things could do with a bit of updating. However, the rest of the place just brilliant 👏 and I mean absolutely brilliant. Pool / outside bar brilliant. All the snacks/ ice cream/ burgers/ hotdogs/ chips / salads ( including a beautiful fish salad some days) cheese, salami the list goes on was beautiful 😍. Buffet was on point. Had everything to suit every taste from fussy eaters to spicy and extravagant eaters! Staff... bar/ reception/ house keeping all so lovely like you had made friends 😊. Best for last... entertainment team Michael & the brilliant gang 👌 wow. We would go there every evening because it was so much fun for the the children and then such laughter for the adults, or sit back and chill.. no pressure. One MASSIVE thing that made it for me and the children is I have a high on the spectrum autism 8 year old daughter and the entertainment team were just brilliant. I informed them and they evolved her by making little sweet chats but never pressure to get up. She just loved watching their antics but not joining in. The bar / restaurant staff outside and in side were also amazing. 👌. Will definitely be going back and taking more family too next time. I actually think the entertainment team made it so good, because you really wouldn't need to leave the complex, I forgot to mention their day time games have something for everyone .. adult games / family games/ in the swimming pool games and dancing, all produced by the entertainment team. Or just sit back on a lounger and chill 😎 I'm going back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good food and friendly staff
Bit grubby not so clean with difficult blind bumps and steps
My family had a week long stay at BlueBay and had a mixed experience overall. Firstly, the facilities on site are reasonably good. Rooms are a little tired but are decent enough for a week long stay, the pools are decent and entertained three children (7, 4 and 3) for a week. There are plenty of options when it comes to meal times and being able to pour your own beer is great. However, other holiday-goers should be aware that the pools are freezing and barely, if at all, heated. This alone wouldn’t knock the score down to a 3/5 on its own, but coupled with the non-existent customer service from the reception team then it brings down the whole experience. Towards the end of the holiday, a couple of people in our party were vomiting/diarrhoea and, when we asked for more towels and a change of bed sheets, we were bluntly spoken to in a manner that brought one party member to tears. We were told that we should have reported it that morning (before the sickness started). Although we were given some towels and sheets, we were told that was all we would be getting until the next day. As the sickness had started the day before we were due to fly home, we asked for a late check out. This was denied, understandably as the room was already booked for the next guest. When I asked for help with any other local sites or a courtesy room for the five hours between check out and our pick up, the receptionist said no and nothing more. When I then offered to bring the sick individuals to reception for the afternoon, they shrugged their shoulders. Given the lack of help and interest in an already stressful situation, I won’t be returning.
Family holiday with two apartments. Arrived on an evening and was disappointed to say the least. The check in was slow as there was only one member of staff. The rooms were a real disappointment to say the least. Very dated and not cleaned to a very good standard at all. The sofa bed is all tattered and torn and definitely not what you want to sleep on: One end of the sofa is broken so you can only sit on one end 🤷♀️ The balcony was a very good size but only 1 small table and 1 chair (there are 3 people staying in the room). When I approached reception they told me to take some off another balcony!!!!! I refused to do this and suggested it was their responsibility. We asked if it was possible to have some extra pillows only to be told there was only one spare pillow in the whole of the hotel so that was all we could have!!!! The bathroom is very grubby and you definitely wouldn’t want to sit in the bath We tried the tv (wouldn’t normally bother but we have a child with us so early nights all round). No signal at all on ours and signal but no sound on daughters next door. Spoke to receptionist again only to be told the tvs here don’t have sound as the antenna isn’t strong enough 🤦♀️yet others we have spoken to have no problem with their tvs. On day 3 they eventually came to sort the tv (after several conversations with jet2) and removed the cover off the aerial socket and left this: Easily accessible to the small child in the room. Corridors to the rooms are clearly not cleaned very often. Plenty of rubbish lying around last night and still there 24 hours later despite the cleaners being around all day. Food has been good, plenty of choice and better than we’ve had in some 4* hotels. Food is available all day everyday and is quickly replenished when running low. We are all inclusive but for some strange reason you have to pay for alcohol free lager. Madness really. Finally got 2 more chairs for the patio after the 5th time of asking. Staff are pleasant and friendly although some of the reception staff could be a bit more helpful to say the least. If the rooms were refurbished it would make a massive difference to the place as it’s the one thing that lets the hotel down. The pool also needs some serious work too. Lots of broken bits and plenty of people coming out with cuts on their feet. They only have one room to hire for late checkouts at €10 per hour and this is only available if the room hasn’t been booked by newcomers. There is a room to store luggage but no courtesy room to get showered and changed before leaving for the airport. We were told we could use the showers around the pool!!!! Wouldn’t stay here again unless it had a serious refurb.
Second time at Bluebay and will certainly be the last. We came as a family last April and had a fantastic time so we booked a late deal to come again. This will be the last time though as since the last visit the place has unfortunately gone down hill. I get that this is a 3 star and I know what to expect but this now feels like a 2 star. The place is looking very worn down and the paint coming away in the pool just gets bigger by the day (see photo), the edges are super sharp and kids are constantly complaining of hurting their feet. The rooms are fine, we always say it's just somewhere to sleep so no complaints there. When we checked in at 11pm there was only one lady on reception and there were about 10 families booking in, we didn't get to our room till gone midnight and after leaving the UK at 4pm this turned into such a long day for us. The food is fine if your not a vegetarian otherwise it's plain pasta and bread rolls for the week, the one time they had a vegetarian dish they laid it on a garnish with bacon! If your in a room above reception/dinner hall then be prepared for noisy people at the pool bar late at night, we had a group singing till 2am and when complained to reception we just got a shrug. They say when you check in not to reserve sunbeds but by 8am they are pretty much all taken so something to think about. Pool bar is self serve on drinks so never waiting for drinks or snacks like burgers, chips etc. Overall it's a nice cheap place to come, the pool is lovely (cold) and my daughter wouldn't get out. Staff are friendly, pool bar staff can be a bit miserable and tend to just get grunts. If you want somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay then this hits the spot, it's not terrible just needs some TLC. I just think the place needs to close for a week or 2 and really bring it back up to standard then it would be a lovely place.
Mixed review for bluebay. We came here previously in May last year. Loved it, and got a good deal with Jet2 so decided go come back. On arriving to the hotel with about 10 other families checking in, there was one person on the desk almost appearing to work slowly on purpose. This led to a wait of over an hour. We got the usual talk of no reserving sunbeds etc (EVERYONE reserved sunbeds). No complaints about the food, staff in the restaurant very friendly and accommodating. Bar staff could sometimes be a bit frosty and unhelpful. Hotel is in need of some TLC, ie chipped paint in pool, not enough parasols, however this did not really affect our stay. Entertainment were lovely, friendly staff and done well to engage my usually reserved daughter. Pool cold but once in its warm enough. Loved the area where you could leave bits i.e suncream, showergels, and inflatables for others. On our second night, we experienced a disturbed night staying so close to the pool bar. Until 2am there was loud singing and shouting, running kids up and down corridors. I spoke to reception the next day to feedback - rooms close to pool bar can be very noisy for young families etc. Their response was rather unhelpful and abruptly told me I should have reported at the time. Which I do agree, it was her attitude of unhelpfulness or understanding, considering they are pretty much in the same place as us, they heard none of this. Every one deserves a good holiday, but a little bit of kindness and respect for others wouldnt go a miss.
My Daughter is autistic so couldn't cope with entertainment so we took a lovely walk down to the square each night. The pool areas crowded and some guests dont watch their kids so we went out. Went snorkeling, aqua park and the national park. The hotel only gave us one pillow and when asked for me said they only have enough for one per person. I am now really suffering from a painful neck. The hotel is dirty with the the same rubbish being in the poolside toilet for over 24 hours. The room was falling apart and the curtains were mouldy. Cockroaches were everywhere. I know they are expected in a hot country but the dirty conditions will not help and I dont expect to see them in the day where food and drink is served. The location, wifi, power of showers and the air-conditioning is good. I can cope with tired furniture etc but there is a minimal standard and unfortunately this hotel fell short of this. I love the area and will return but not to this hotel.
I will not return to this hotel! The hotel is very dated needs a lot of TLC. Rooms are very poor, pool area is poor and around the grounds. Pool very cold. Had a big problem with cockroaches, not only around the hotel but in the rooms, had them crawling on our worktop in the kitchen, on the floor and shower. Food was ok but very the same thing.
Such a family friendly fun hotel. The animation team are exceptional and certainly kept us entertained. Mickey and the team do an amazing job. We will definitely be back.
I read plenty of review before booking this hotel and I must admit there was a lot of pro’s and con’s, we got a very good deal with jet 2 and we ended up booking. This hotel is in need of a makeover, it is very dated and things are looking tired around the hotel….may I add this didn’t affect our stay. The rooms are basic but we were on a top floor 2 bed room, this is perfect for what we needed and I will add we didn’t have any ants or cockroaches during our stay. Although we did see a couple on the ground floors, again this is something you do see in hot countries and nothing really the hotel can do about it. There was a safe in the room. Our main door to the room needed a good push to fully close, again just something the hotel may need to renovate over time. The food was your typical all inclusive, something for everyone and a good few choices. Where you get drinks is a bit of a small area which could do with extending slightly for the amount of people. The people in the restaurant are nice and pleasant enough and are quick to clear your plates. The pool is cold but does warm up with the hot weather, pool area is fine and plenty of sun-beds but not enough parasols. The pool and snack bar has enough on offer and the food is nice enough, burgers, hotdogs, chips! Soft drinks and beer are self serve. Spirits you have to ask for. Now for the entertainment, it started off great, plenty going on, music round the pool, kids club, cocktail making etc. The mini disco was great and the entertainment on the night was great and run by Mickey (an amazing entertainment manger) but unfortunately he did have a few days off, which again people are entitled to days off. But then entertainment then became non existent and none of the other team seemed interested at all. Which was a massive shame as I booked the hotel knowing that all the reviews rate the entertainment staff and how amazing it was. I feel like we was robbed of a few days of entertainment. It’s almost like when Mickey isn’t there the place shuts down. All credit to Mickey when he is there as he’s amazing (which I had read about on these reviews) Costa Teguise is a very quiet resort so if you’re looking for a lively resort this isn’t the place. But nice and chilled if you like it like that. Overall we had a lovely stay. Thank you Blue Bay
We have just got back after spending 10 days at Bluebay .Hotel is in a reasonable postion to the centre of costa teguise about 15 mins walk .And 20 mins walk to aquaPark also. Staff very friendly but we were very dissappointed with the childrens entertainers basically non exsistant..never came round pool to encourage children to take part in activities the club house was dark and dirty at back of hotel. Mini disco started whenever and finished early .our grandchildren missed it alot because it started 15 mins earlier than stated which was annoying . Food...if you dont like pork or cold pasta dont bother because most nights same food cooked differently and not very hot ..Hotel was nice and rooms big just needs alittle TLC ..Pool was lovely but apart from cleaning around snack bar area it was dirty lots of sticky dirty areas were people had spilled drinks. Never had a problem getting a sun bed always plenty around .we would be 50 /50 to wether we would go back
Review - A Honest review - family of 4 Please ignore the negative reviews! It was exactly what we expected for a 3* hotel! Don’t book if you’re expecting 5 star luxury, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced getaway for a family I’d recommend. Accommodation - we had a 1 bedroom ground floor apartment 2 adults, 1 child and a baby. The size was great with a brilliant patio area. The apartment was dated and basic but clean. Maid service accommodating with clean linen and towels throughout the week. Yes we found some ants throughout the week but soon established they were attracted to the bin (food) however there was ant killer available and once we’d used this we had no problem. Food - The opening hours to the restaurant were great (late breakfast, lunch and dinner) as a family we tend to eat our meals later so the times allowed us to do so. The snack bar was available from the moment breakfast finished until dinner time so you could basically eat all day. There was lots of variety and the food was fresh. The restaurant was clean however the snack bar was outside therefor birds would sit on the counter top however food was covered and the area was kept clean by staff with plates and old food being removed promptly. They also encouraged guests to clean up after themselves with lots of bins and areas to leave dirty plates etc. Staff were attentive and friendly. Lots of drink options available with a help yourself service to soft drinks, hot drinks and beer. You won’t go hungry and if you do fancy going out there’s lots of restaurants within walking distance (we ate out a few times). Pool area - some TLC needed however great space with lots of comfy sunbeds and great size pools (kids pool a perfect depth for our 4 year old) she was able to play safely without her armbands. Cold!!! They are not heated however we travelled in February! And we didn’t pay for luxury from my understanding the majority of pools are not heated in Lanzarote. We didn’t go into the large pool because that was freezing. The areas were kept clean by staff but it also helps if guests tidy up after themselves. Kids club - my 4 year old loved it and the staff were great and so attentive! Kids club would run 1030-1200 and the 1400-1500 however they were closed on Sunday. Entertainment - what you’d expect! The entertainment was like all other hotels I’ve stayed at over the years (this isn’t something we tend to watch as we like to go into town for a walk and dinner) The 4 entertainers were fab and great with the kids, they were always visible around the hotel and made the effort to interact with everyone which was lovely. Location - honestly we could not complain a short walk to a small beach with a great coastal walk into town (aprox 20 min with a pram and 4 year old) we’d walk into town and get a taxi back to the hotel this would Cost anything between €3 - €5 depending on the time of day. Card was accepted. Overall we had a lovey family holiday and felt it was good value for money. Thank you team Bluebay for a comfortable stay.
After reading the reviews I was a little worried I will be honest…. It was a good value last minute holiday with my friend. Our room was roomy, shower was really good and spacious bedroom. We had kitchen with table and fridge which was great! Food was really good with great choices for all tastes. Drinks were also good with fanta, coke etc on tap (self serve) and alcoholic drinks also varied. A few areas could do with some tlc like some of the pool floor and around the areas but they have started to renovate. If you are worried about the reviews, don't be - I think some people complain on the stupidest things - we had an amazing time and staff were also lovely.
This is the second time we have been to this hotel and we will be booking alot more at this hotel as well the breakfast is nice and filling and the different food we had was nice we had fajitas kebabs fish and it all was nice the day time activity's micky and his entertainers do in the day and at night are amazing and keep your family busy with the fun games they have and there so friendly and polite and make you feel so welcome we are we will definitely be goin back
Only real problem I had with the place is the pool is freezing. Put my big toe in once that was enough for me. The place is clean, the staff are nice, beer is great and the food plentiful. Yes chips are available at lunch and dinner and pasta also, there is plenty of choice for even fussy eaters. Cakes jelly ice cream of plenty lots of other foods to choose from. The hotel is 3 star I’ve stayed in worse places and a lot better it’s what I expected for what I paid. All in all it was a great place we went out a lot stayed in a lot , zero problems and zero complaints really, if you want better get the cash 💰 out. Thanks for a great holiday Bluebay we enjoyed our stay . 👍
All around great time. All the activities you could possibly need for entertainment. Staff were lovely, always happy to help. Everyday a different selection of great food. Entertainment staff were excellent, always going to extra mile. Everything you could possibly want on a week long vacation.
Stayed at the Bluebay 12 years ago and it was looking tired then sadly it doesn’t seem to look any different to how it did then. Yes it is a 3 star hotel but the pool bar theatre bar and rooms really need a facelift. Rooms spacious but sofa beds are impossible to sleep on I had to put a mattress from the bedroom on top of it it was one of those clic clack designed one fine for small children but anyone over the age of 10 would struggle to sleep. The mattresses are comfortable and the sheets were clean. We had no one clean until day three of our stay ( we were there for 5 days) only 2 towels each changed every 3 days. The shower was good and the air conditioning worked well. Balcony chairs and tables past their best. Entertainment- theatre bar not big enough and acoustics are terrible just makes it unpleasant place to sit it’s dark and oppressive and needs updating. The entertainment team work hard and are a credit to the hotel. Pool area is a bit untidy mainly guests leaving food and spilling drinks feel it’s should be jet washed each morning only saw this on one day. The snacks at the pool are the same which is ok as the restaurant opens for lunch to but the food at the pool bar was pretty much cold most days Pool bar has no atmosphere in the evening and it can be quite chilly sat out there and there is no alternative other than the theatre bar again not an issue for us as we like to go out in an evening despite being AI The pool toilets are not pleasant always a wet slippy floor due to people not drying off before going In makes it really dangerous saw loads of kids fall over on the tiled floor Restaurant- the main restaurant is pleasant and very clean but food is your typical 3 star resort you won’t starve but if food is a priority for you then I would consider somewhere else. Drinks - are ok self service (beer and soft drinks ) at pool bar and restaurant which is great no long queues. Staff - are all excellent very friendly and polite they work so hard. The biggest issue for me is the lack of facilities on check out day unable to book late checkout no courtesy room option so you’re stuck around without anywhere to change or get a shower. I’ve never stayed in a hotel where there wasn’t at least a shower room to book. Costa Teguise is lovely with some great bars and restaurants and a really nice vibe. Sadly the bluebay is somewhere I would not return to as it currently is, the hotel has enormous potential but it’s clear that it’s lacked investment over the years. I would personally look elsewhere as there are better hotels in Costa Teguise.
Can not complain one bit, from reception, bar staff, cleaners, restaurant staff but most of all the animation team are absolutely fantastic… had a great time again and will always return, thankyou so much for being a great place to enjoy the sun in!
From reading some of the previous reviews of this hotel I was a little worried but there was abaolutely no reason to be as it was great! Our room was so clean and spacious and we had a beautiful view, big pool area with lots of sunbeds and a slide and inflatables for the kids. This is more of a family place but the location is a short walk from bars and the beach. The entertainment team were great. Food was good as well just your usual all inclusive things like pizza, chips, chicken nuggets, pasta and meat dishes, desserts and juice/tea/wine or beer. The pool bar has an snack bar where you can help yourself to hot dogs, burgers, ice cream. There is also soft drinks, tea/coffee and beer on tap, if you want a cocktail or spirit you need to order at the bar. Only advice I would give is get a hotel map and you may have to carry your bags up a few flights of stairs so be prepared for that. The hotel doesnt have a spa if you were hoping to pay it a visit. I would recommend and go back!
Just returned from one week stay with family and 21/2 year old Pool needs to be enclosed with a gated area so kids are not able to keep running off down slopes and steps whilst parents trying to relax too! Room balcony never cleaned during our stay and was disgusting! Staircase never cleaned whole stay Kids evening club needs gated security to stop them running out of doors down several steps!! Deffo not child friendly Cleaning needs a massive upgrade! Most staff friendly Found food warm and not hot! If hotel became more child safe I could return but until then I’m afraid it’s a no no! Met some nice people though 😉
Let's start by saying the room was disgusting, stains all over the bed, outdated room, filthy and dirty. To match this, the food was boring, dull and not exciting at all. Most importantly, cockroaches everywhere! Espeically when eating walking all over the dining floor and so unhygienic, disgusting place and nothing like pictures. Anyone who is here or planning to come, Enjoy!
Overall it was a lovely stay . The entertainment team was absolutely brilliant especially for the kids disco . During the day they have plenty activities for both adults and kids . The food was good with a great selection for both lunch and dinner , breakfast was the same everyday but fresh and food . The staff in the restaurant and bar were super friendly and helpful . Both pools were a bit to cold but seems to work when the sun is out . Plenty loungers but some umbrellas were broken . There are plenty floaters around the pool for children . The room was ok but they could do with a bit of maintenance . We had two beds next to each other to make it a double and they were moving like mad . You turn around on the other side in the middle of the night and the whole bed will move . On top of that if you are lucky to have another room above you would hear when the bed in that room moves as well . The cleaning was ok, we got clean towels often and fresh bedsheets, clean floors . The only problem was that we found 2 dead cockroaches ( which my partner has videoed and showed me only at the end of our stay because I would have burned the whole island down if I would have seen them 😅😅😂)
Firstly restaurant staff, bar staff and Animation team where amazing, and food in restaurant was lovely, something for everyone, but unfortunately thats all that was good. I understand theres works to be carried out on hotel but our experience wasnt great. We were in block C the ceiling tiles had collapsed outside room, stairs walkways shabby and not clean - so not giving great 1st impression. We did ask to move rooms twice but was just told abruptly by receptionist they were full. Room was dated had musky smell to it, mouldy silicone around shower, metal in toilet seat green and rusty. Bed the mattress had mould spots on as did material bed frame, noticed when sheets slipped off. Underneath bed frame was ripped. Balcony must have suffered water damage as paintpeeling off and cracking, also balcony never swept . Yes we had several cockroaches in bedroom too always under dressing table which I know is just part of being abroad but not nice, I told reception they just gave me a cockroach spray ! Towels changed once in 7 days and sheets were not changed Public areas/ pool and toilets In need of updating, paint peeling off in pool, cracked paths, flooded toilets that never seemed to cleaned around pool, broken taps and toilets in theatre bar. They cleaned pool area and sunbeds on 1st 2 days but not again so was ice cream spills and dirty. Football pitches had ripped nets and not maintained . General up keep was poor . Over flown bins and dirty plates on floor near kids pool when we came in at 6pm and were left like that until next morning when cleaners came in. I understand you get what you pay for and its what you make of your holiday but really hotel needs a total overhaul. And everyones entitled to their own opinion and everyones experience is different but seemed all everyone spoke about was how run down hotel was. No doubt hotel will respond with something different like in otger peoples reviews.
Good and bad at this hotel. Good: apartment fine, all you need is there. Kettle, coffee and tea but not replaced when used. Drinks in fridge and a bottle of water. Brilliant shower! Very generous with towels! Food good, no complaints there. Sometimes needed a blast in the Microwave as not quite warm enough. Good pools although very cold. There’s a cage where people leave their inflatables for other people to use which is a nice touch. Great pool cafe with loads of goodies if you get hungry between Meals. Some of the staff are lovely, others need to take lessons in Hospitality! Ten minute walk to small beach with sunbeds Bad: found cockroaches! 2 in the bath, one on a plate in the cupboard and Quite a few in the corridors! Not good! Not nearly enough sun parasols for the amount of sunbeds! Quite a Few so broken they’re only fit for the tip! Mattresses a bit hard on the back Shower curtains instead of screens, not hygienic! One particular restaurant waiter quite rude the way he spoke to Customers. That’s a no no! They should always be polite if spoken to Politely. Would we return? Probably not because of the cockroaches and not enough sun parasols. Shame because most thing were ok and we enjoyed our stay.
Great location we went as a family 1 child and 3 adults and entertainment was 100% could not fault it. All staff were amazing and very welcoming. We will definitely be back
Wonderful staff, great accommodation and such a great variety of meals. After seeing some reviews on here, we were a little unsure what to expect. We do often roll our eyes and laugh at what some people find tot complain about, so while unsure about whether we had chosen well, we were also aware of all the positive feedback about BlueBay. This is an excellent 3 star hotel, please don't forget that it is listed as 3 star, so don't expect 4 star luxury. We often do 4 star but the previous positive reviews have expressed what a great place this can be. All staff were extremely helpful, attentive and polite. The waiting staff in the restaurant are amazing, being greeted by the English lady, Manuel and their colleagues with a smile and professionalism every day was excellent. They were very attentive with my dietary needs (gluten free) and would provide me food items at b breakfast to help make things easier. Rooms were a great size. Previous photos of chipped paint are pointless, as paint will always chip with weather wear and tear. Don't let them put you off, sunbeds are in great condition. Beach towels are not provided as with 4 star (remember it's not 4 star), but you can pay for these (or there are shops around the corner selling them for 5 euros). Our only disappointment is the head of entertainment terrifying us every morning with the volume he played the music at 10:30am. It really is too loud, you could either leave the hotel when he does that, or "put up with it." It really is too loud, no need for it and it is left like that for a few hours. So overall, we are very happy we found this little place. We loved Costa Teguise, which can be reached following the beach path, a beautiful 10-15 minute walk. Hennessy's Irish bar is a lovely place (also great food). It was super easy to get the no 3 bus to Puerto Del Carmen (catch the bus round the corner from hotel, really easy and only 3 euros). We went on a dolphin trip (booked online cheap), which was amazing as we saw hundreds of dolphins. So, thank you to all of you at BlueBay Hotel, it was a complete pleasure and we will definitely see you all again.
I read previous reviews on TripAdvisor as I always do before we visit somewhere. I can tell you now, that some of the bad points are unnecessary and ridiculous. We had a fantastic time. The staff are great, very hard working. Some come across as grumpy and they don't acknowledge you but they're just focused on their work. If you acknowledge them or engage in conversation, they're all very friendly and happy to help. I want to give a special mention to Mickey, Miriam, Maria and Leo (the animation team) Such a fantastic crew and a credit to the hotel. I don't know why people say the hotel is dirty because it isn't. They're are staff members constantly cleaning up messes and collecting dirty plates and cups. I can however understand people commenting on it being dated and a little worn out. That being said the maintenance team are working hard on fixing it. The beds weren't very comfortable but that's just personal preference. There were 2 members of staff out of the dozens working there that weren't pleasant. But it's not worth complaining about. As long as you don't come here expecting a 5 star hotel with a Michelin style restaurant and everything made with glitter and gold..... you will have a good time. The animation team alone make staying here worth while. And their Broadway production blows the roof off. I also have to mention the food. Absolutely delicious, every day. Traditional fried foods for breakfast with continental options. Lunch varied l, as well did dinner options. It wasn't repetitive, plenty of choice and caters for all ages. A couple of personal favourites of mine.....Turkey stew and homemade curry. Yum yum yum. Overall had a great holiday and will be visiting this hotel again.
Lovely hotel very clean friendly staff couldn’t be more helpful. Lovely food Great entertainment if you have children something different every night. Only a short walk into the main town and beach will definitely come back.
Went about 20yrs ago and still a fab place

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the hotel and over all I was really disappointed. We had read some negative reviews before we went but decided we would take the chance and I honestly wish we hadn’t. The hotel itself self is in a really good area close to shops and restaurants with the beach about a 15 minute walk, and the airport transfer was around 20 minutes. The staff are all pleasant in the restaurant and bars and they all work really hard. The main issues we had were with the state of the hotel it is very run down, there is paint peeling from the walls and in the pool the rooms are very old and need a good refurbishment if I had children who were toddlers I would of been really anxious about staying in the rooms. Our room was not cleaned regularly and although the beds were made 8 out of 10 days the sheets were not changed. Towels were only changed 3 times and we had to ask reception for one of these. There was mould in the shower and unfortunately it was not clean, the beds were uncomfortable to sleep on and the air con was so noisy you could not sleep with it on. The food was okay for an all inclusive and most days we could find something to eat but it was very repetitive and we did eat out 3 or 4 times during our stay. The entertainment team are fantastic and the children really enjoyed the disco and evening shows. The hotel does have a football pitch and tennis court but again it is very run down in dangerous in areas due to knocked down walls . I would never normally give such bad review but due to the price of holidays at the moment it was definitely not worth what we paid for it.
Would not return The good , the bad , the ugly. The good, holiday was cheap so didn't expect much, pool is ok 1 slide and ppl leave floats behind which staff put in a big cage for others to use. Kids entertain there defo is some but we've not used it. Food is ok as far as all inclusive goes. The bad Very run down, hole place needs a referb, lots of bugs about which I appreciate is normal in hot countrys but this is more than usual. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk to the beach and main shops. The ugly Where to start, its mainly the staff, some tbf are lovely. Most are grumpy and dont acknowledged you, but some are down right rude , had a waiter grab one of my kids (4 year old) and try and move them from one chair to another ( the waiter hadn't even spoken to me first) , he was very aggressive saying move now ( we wasn't in the way or causing any trouble) when I tried to explain just give us a minute to sort it out, he was rude then when I said oh just go away he said F**K YOU infront of children aswell, he then had the cheek to send the restaurant manager over to tell us off and she reckoned the waiter who swore at us couldn't speak english. I did have to laugh at that. My children do have additional needs so can't be rush but they shouldn't be treating any one like this, no wonder the hotel has such bad reviews, it also ruins the fact that some staff are lovely like the man who checked us in , he was so helpful and friendly its ashame the restaurant staff aren't and some of the bar staff aren't. Personal opinion if ur happy with a run down hotel and being verbally abused and touched by staff , this is your kind of hotel.
We have just returned from a week stay (2adults 2children 10& 15) I was worried after reading some mixed reviews and unfortunately the problems highlighted in negative reviews seemed to be our experience. The hotel and grounds are very run down and dated. It is lacking in cleanliness, such as restaurant floors not cleaned during meal times so any dropped food was left to be stood on and kicked around. Maid service is everyday except Weds, and towels are supposed to be changed every 3 days- we had to ask for new towels on day 5 and were only given 3, then 2 more a day later. Bedsheets were not changed at all. The drinks machines were constantly running out or encountered errors. Food is ok, enough choice so you won't be hungry but it is lukewarm at best. Pizzas were the best on offer and didn't last long once brought out. The slide into the pool had locks on it daily until maintenance came to fix what problem it had at some point through the day then it would be open to use. The pool area and sunbeds were not cleaned well, and was let down by other guests not tidying up after themselves, leaving used cups, plates and rubbish to blow around instead of putting them in the bins/collection points provided. Due to wind many drinks were spilt and spent days dried on the floor as area not cleaned/mopped regularly. The staff were all very friendly and as helpful as they could be. Rooms are very dated and old which doesn't bother us as it is just a base but having broken and damaged furniture, patio doors on ground floor that are difficult to close and lock properly is not good. Beds were old, not comfy and had dips in mattresses. We had ants coming in from cracks,so had to be very careful with any food and drink, and used the bug spray left under the sink. The location is about 15 mins to the main area (pueblo marinero) and beach 20mins. There are shops and some restaurants within 5 mins walk but we never used them. I understand it is 3* not luxury however overall cleanliness and facilities in good working order shouldn't be hard to achieve. I wouldn't return as I didn't feel it met these expectations.
This hotel is filthy. Many trip hazards absolutely disgusting. We have just come back from 5 nights & to say we was shocked was an understatement. I’ve got many photos to show exactly how disgusting this place is. Pool disgusting with thick dirty tide mark. Flooring coming away. The list goes on. But photos do not lie. I do not want another family to suffer & have the holiday ruined like we did.
Really nice hotel. Friendly staff. Great value. Close to airport so short transfer. Check out was 12pm but we could use the facilities till 5pm. Definitely recommend. Exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious - as a vegetarian I was impressed with the variety each day. All three of us were very happy with food. You can serve yourself with soft drinks, wine and hot drinks- hot chocolate was really lovely. Food and drink always available. Servers are all very attentive. The pool is well maintained and has a very attentive life guard. My children and I loved it - lots of space. We were also always able to find a free sun lounger. There are pool tables for 2 euros. The evening entertainment ranged from Motown singers to Bingo, to Magician to Disney Show which my youngest daughter was thrilled to be a part of - the kids disco each night, and children’s staff are excellent. The beach is a short walk. Rooms are changed regularly and very tidy . Shower was great. The beds comfortable. Our room overlooked the pool area, and despite being close to the theatre it was not noisy. The on site shop has many nice souvenirs. There are shops and restaurants in close proximity however we always ate in the hotel as was such good quality, and plentiful buffet. I have read some negative reviews which are the polar opposite to my views. I would gladly return to this hotel.
It was amazing the entertainment staff were brilliant very kind , welcoming people and are always happy to help the view was amazing and it was such a brilliant holiday
If once a year you come on holiday with your family or friends, it doesn’t matter avoid this hotel! It’s horrible! It shouldn’t be called Bluebay Resort, it should definitely be called “Cucaracha Resort”! It’s extremely disappointing to plan a holiday maybe the only one you take all year bring your family, and end up in a place like this. Cockroaches and ants everywhere! Even if some people say it’s not a big issue, nobody deserves to pay even a penny to have huge cockroaches crawling around at night — especially in the bed where children are sleeping. Not just one, but dozens of them visiting during the night! The mattress was torn. The food is absolutely not worth the money. Avoid it! The reception service was terrible there was no soap in the bathroom for two days. What kind of place is this? Absolutely awful experience.
Would never ever recommend, Arrived at 12 , check in was 3, refused to accommodate us at all and were extremely rude , atmosphere was instantly hostile ‘Kids entertainment’ the entertainment staff would pop around the pool once a day, Kids mini disco was repetitive, didn’t start until 8pm ! Rooms are basic I had so many problems getting into my room Daily , the reception staff saw me coming to regular to get the maintenance guys to let me into my room they even knew my room number by day 2! , they struggled themselves to open the door so had to wake my neighbors to hop the balcony to get in . they refused to change the lock on my door after explain this was a daily occurrence , I was shushed by the blonde receptionist lady because I calmly told her this was not okay , I have a 7 year who shouldn’t have to walk up to her room to then have to walk all the way back down with me to get into our room. It rained one day so they closed the pool bar all day even when the sun was glorious 2 hours later we had to walk back into the hotel to get a drink ! Food is absolutely vile , myself and my daughter have had to eat out most days spending an extra £200 I wasn’t planning to spend ! Texas rancho trip , don’t do it !! We went as a family , zoo was full of unkept animals, went into the baby splash pool within 5 mins 2 of our children came back out with cuts all over there legs bleeding , They closed it off until we walked around the corner and it was open again ! Our day cut really short , not even a sorry for our children ! Absolutely disgusting! I would absolutely never ever recommend this hotel
We stayed for a week on an all-inclusive basis, and I can honestly say the food was the best we’ve ever experienced on an all-inclusive holiday. The staff should be extremely proud of themselves—they work incredibly hard, non-stop, all day. During our stay, my son, who is always running around, accidentally ran into a sign near the canteen area. Before I even had time to react, a member of staff was there with ice for his head and eye. They also checked on him later that evening and again the next morning to make sure he had slept well after the bump. That level of care really stood out to us. I’ve seen a few negative reviews mentioning that the pool area is messy or that bins are not emptied, but that was not our experience at all. If anything, I was surprised by how many guests didn’t clean up after themselves, despite there being plenty of bins available, including ones specifically for cups.
We have just returned from BlueBay after 2 weeks for the Easter holidays and already want to return! We went as a family of 4 which included a 3 & 6 year old and we all had the most amazing time. The hotel itself is lovely and always spotless, floors are always being cleaned and cups being collected around the poolside. The restaurant was always immaculate, the staff in there were very friendly and efficient and we never had to wait for a table. The food was always warm and tasty and none of us ever struggled to eat, including our 2 children who have milk allergies. It was very good for the standard child’s eating habits with chips, nuggets, pizzas, burgers and hotdogs every lunch and dinner too. This is the first holiday they have ever been on where they could eat with us. They have signs are out indicating which allergens are in which food which made it a lot easier. They have never eaten so much for all 3 meals and snacks! We made full use of the unlimited drinks and ice cream we had every single day too. Our room was much better than we were expecting. It was always cleaned well daily and was a nice spacious living area. We had no cockroaches or ants during our stay either! The pool was freezing, as we expected from previous reviews, but we still went in every day and the children still had lots of fun, we used the big pool rather than the baby pool though. The entertainment staff are all very kind and friendly and always have a smile on their faces, they were always busy doing different games or activities for the kids club or sports programme. Plus their song and dance they do daily was the holiday highlight! The main lifeguard there is really efficient, he is constantly walking around and checking the pool and offering any help. He was also considerate helping picking cups up whilst still watching the pool etc. we used the laundrette too which was handy and easy to use. The location is very convenient too, it’s close to several beaches, the main ones varying between a 10 - 25 minute east walk from the hotel. The supermarkets are also very close by, one is right by the hotel at the bottom of the dirt track then several more further down along with lots of other shops too. We would also really recommend Texas Rancho as a day out, it was the most phenomenal day! We will definitely be returning to BlueBay in the future and miss it already!
My daughter and I came for 4 days and really enjoyed our stay! Our room was big had a double balcony bedroom and a sitting room/kitchen , we went all inclusive the food was great loads of choice , the staff were great worked really hard
Rooms definitely need some work and an upgrade. All furniture is very tired no mirrors in bedrooms mould on walls which was fixed asap. Location is good few bars near hotel but about a 15 minute walk to the main square. Staff were fantastic and always cleaning pool was great. Food good for an all inclusive. Entertainment every night. Value was pretty good.
We are still currently here with a couple of days left. We was worried coming due to the reviews regarding cleanliness and issues with staffing. But we feel what we paid for a 10 night break over Easter has been fine. We arrived at 2pm to be told check in was at 3pm, we went to the snack bar for food but saw other people being given their room card keys. We got in our room and a bed on the leg was broken and there was plaster falling off the ceiling. This was reported to reception and maintenance came within the hour. Food was fine, my boy is autistic so to have chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs etc meant he could eat fine. Food was warm also no need to warm anything up. Yes the variety wasn’t great but is it ever at all inclusive? Help yourself to soft drink and beer round the pool I like, never a que unless you want a cocktail, spirit etc. We found the animation team very friendly towards our little boy and he loved the mini disco. Couple of issues we had. 1- on check in your given a piece of paper which says not to reserve sun beds, the first week people stuck to this, the second week not so much and people left sun beds all day to go out and nothing happened. 2- the biggest worry. My little one on accident dropped a glass and it smashed cutting his toe. This was 9am. I went and asked reception for a plaster and some wipes, his response was, the first aider is the life guard who starts at 10. He did find me a plaster but wasn’t very helpful. But surely someone else is a first aider on site when the lifeguard isn’t around? Also the way he spoke was almost like he wasn’t bother, he didn’t ask what had happened just didn’t seem to be interested. So if you have an accident etc it’s to be hopes it’s when the lifeguard is around because what happens if not? All in all been a good family holiday, I wouldn’t come back to the hotel but it’s been a fine break.
Just returned from our second lovely stay at Bluebay! Whilst the rooms are a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC, the staff are all so friendly and welcoming and the hotel is kept clean and tidy. Beds are comfy and the shower is really powerful. We never struggled for something to eat as there were always enough options available, even for kid or people that only eat beige foods! The animation team were really good and our 5 year old son loved the mini disco and the shows each night. There is a great play park within about 6 mins walk from the hotel and a larger, nicer beach area if you walk about 15 mins along the beach front Don’t book this expecting a 5* experience but for a 3* value for money and family friendly friendly environment in the sun, I would definitely recommend!
Just back from our first experience of the Bluebay Hotel in Lanzarote. What a wonderful week we had from start to finish. * Wonderful staff who couldn’t have been more helpful. Particularly the dining hosts who always greeted us with a smile and asked how our day was. * The drinks choice was amazing with plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for adults and kids. Our son particularly enjoyed the slushies. * There was plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner with enough to keep all the family fed for the week. Every night they had a new local dish to try which was always top notch. * The children’s entertainment headed by Mickey kept everyone entertained and busy during the day. The team of 4 worked their socks off and it showed with how many people wanted to take part in the daily activities. * The location of the hotel meant it was only 15 min walk one way to the local aqua park and then 10/15mins the other way to the beaches and town centre. * Yes the rooms were a bit outdated and parts of the complex could do with a refresh but the rooms were lovely and clean and of a nice size for our family. * If you go expecting anything more than a 3 star hotel room you will be disappointed but you won’t be disappointed with the rest of the hotel. * We did find it a bit strange we had to pay to use the safe in our room but we wanted to make sure our valuables were locked away and safe throughout our stay. * The pool was cold but it didn’t stop our son and so many others using it during the week. Overall we had a wonderful half term family holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time we visited Lanzarote. Thank you Bluebay for a great holiday
Tired hotel needs a uplift along with rooms and accessories Beds and pillows awful very uncomfortable Paint peeling off ceiling like waking up in a snow globe All over bed and belongings no apology took 4 days to sort out Balcony chairs dangerous and rusted sharp metal protruding out There are no lifts all tiled stairs when wet dangerous especially when trying to get 2 cases up to 2nd floor Hotel staff and food really good the maintenance staff are not so swift especially with damaged furniture and room issues Cockroaches in lower apartments hygiene issues And not just because it’s a hot country as Jet2 rep said to an elderly lady The pool area is needing a tidy up and a lot of old loungers damaged and broken Idiots flying round on hired E-scooters and hired mobility scooters very dangerous with kids and elderly using it like a race track Should be banned completely from this area Nice area to visit and not far to walk to main promenade towards beach Take your own Teabags if you like a proper cuppa Water tap for water bottles in pool bar area Easily fill a bottle
If you're wandering if you've made a mistake booking ...we never regret this place...staff are wonderful and all work so hard. The hotel is a 3 star and is what it says on the tin. From the moment we arrive we love it ! It's a quiet resort where you can take a short walk to supermarket, shops, beaches, Aquarium or you can catch buses / taxis for cheap prices. The rooms could use an update but the star rating clearly indicates this. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond to help. My child has ARFID and the restaurant team worked with me to find food she would be happy to have. Yes the pool is freezing. Get in, put shoulders under and have fun! Entertainment is family friendly, a little silly with lots of laughs !
Animation team are great we loved the entertainment
Hygiene an issue - witnessed using same water for various rooms, room not swept what so ever - cleaner mopped from balcony to room so lots of hair and other crap from balcony bought in - room smelt of faeces - door frame looked as if it had been kicked in - complex is nice though however food is always cold or luke warm but i can see there has been acknowledgements about it but to date no improvement I'm afraid - including brekkie - great location, lots of beds but we didn't go in peak time - reception staff were ok but restaurant staff are pleasant and made you feel welcome, just got fed up eating cold food and bar staff need to cheer up!!
Stayed here in February, we were a group of 6 adults and 2 kids. This hotel is amazing, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation team are amazing and kept us entertained all week long. We will definitely be back.
My self and my boyfriend stayed her in January and we really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the food, there was lots of options for all meals - we were all inclusive. Plenty of drink choices also to have in the day / evening. Too cold to swim but lovely pool area and the bar outside also was good and staff friendly and also good pool bar food too for the afternoon time. Everything was clean. Great price for holiday. Room was perfect for me and my boyfriend, the bedroom was lovely area and the lounge and kitchen very large size and we had view of the bar and the pool on balcony which we likes as sun balcony all day :) Enjoyed the evening entertainment and we made lots of friends with other couples as everyone so friendly enjoying there holidays. We didnt join the day entertainment as we usually went for walk to local beaches and shops and bars which are not too far away - beautiful place to stay in lanzarote. we went on a trip to volcano which we enjoyed and also went on camel rides which was fun. we would recommend this hotel as we enjoyed the holiday
I stayed at bluebay resort with my partner and 3 young kids, and it was the best holiday we have had in a long time. The entertainment was spot on and made our holiday. Micky and the animation, entertainment team was the best. Making us laugh daily and always getting the kids and us involved in activities. Would definitely go back there again.
direi tutto
i letti un pò sfondati e il divano consunto. anche le coperte hanno urgenza di esser rinnovate
This hotel is wonderful, I really enjoyed our stay there. All the staff are amazing and I mean all of them, cleaners, reception staff, bar staff and restaurant staff, bigger hotels could learn some customer relations experience from them, excellent all round, well done. The bars are good, I particularly liked the pool bar with pour your own beer and soft drinks, really good idea that stops queueing. The rooms are basic but adequate, able to make cups of tea and coffee in, also equipped with a fridge, kettle etc. The shower cubicle is quite tight, but boy the shower is amazingly powerful. There are no public TV's but if you want to watch Sport, Monica's Bar next door is excellent. The food in the restaurant is excellent, so much choice that you can not be disappointed, I especially enjoyed the home made Pizza's and the freshly grilled fish or meat. Really loved it and would definitely go again. Walk into town centre is around 15 minutes.
Essen vielfältig und gut. Sauberer Speisesaal. Rezeption sehr freundlich, nettes Personal
My husband was assaulted by a English drunk man who was staying at the hotel. The staff were very unhelpful and we had to ask multiple times for them to call an ambulance and the police. The hotel does not take guests safety seriously.
The staff were fantastic. Extremely helpful, fun and professional. Carlos was amazing! The food was also amazing. Really superior for a 3 star hotel. Fresh food at every meal and a great variety.
The pool was freezing and it was difficult to access things like tennis and table tennis because only the animation team had access to equipment and they were either busy entertaining or unavailable. This being something reception could do would be great.
Do not read negative reviews, enjoyed our stay everywhere kept clean and tidy, food plentiful and tasty lots of choice even for fussy eaters. All staff pleasant and always ready to help, location wise its 5 mins walk to taxi and bus stop, but only 10 min pleasant walk to the town. Excellent value for the money.
Traveled with my parents and daughter for a week’s stay. Positives Friendly polite staff Beach shops and bus stops all in walking distance Excellent breakfast Large rooms Pool area clean with plenty of sun beds Sat to your table which avoids searching with food in hand Good selection of alcoholic drinks and beer on tap You can serve yourself to hot drinks and ice cream Negatives Hotel is very tired and needs an upgrade Lunch and dinner meals average often not warm but there is a microwave Snack bar again food often not warm due to being kept by hot plates. In previous hotels snack food cooked to order. cocktails served from a pump so not the best Towels only changed every 3 days Would I stay again and the answer would be yes if we could return for what we paid this year as it was definitely value for money
Went for the 2nd time in kids hols and loved it again. Entertainment was even better than before, the food was great and plenty of choice. The staff are so friendly and great with the kids. Rooms are lovely and cleaned regularly
I’ve stayed here many times now and also in some very expensive hotels in Teguise . I keep coming back here because it’s simply such good value for money … and the sunshine is the same wherever you stay . They also make a very good gin and tonic !
It’s a bit tired around the edges
Loved the hotel and food was great only issue we didn’t know where the entertainment was held on a night as we sat in the outside bar near pool never nothing going on so we now realised after reading reviews it may have been in a diff n Part of the hotel but still looking to book this year but hopefully a low floor as stairs were a problem to me limited mobility
Booked a last minute week away with my mum after holidaying here 3 years ago and it didnt disappoint. Big shout of to Moussa on reception who was a massive help on arriving and super friendly throughout our stay. Entertainment team - Deni, Leo, Miriam and Mickey were absolutely fabulous! Food was lovely with plenty of choice and plenty alcohol available :) Will definitely be returning!
