The location of the property is fantastic as everything on that main road to wine country is.
The winery told us when we informed them the room didn’t look like the pictures (and showed them) or include the amenities listed on Booking that Booking had pictures up of the wrong suite. We didn’t get the spa tub listed, which was one of the reasons we chose the room for two nights. The room was also much smaller than the pictures shown, and rather than overlooking the winery, our balcony overlooked the area people drive up. The room we got was not worth the price we paid. When I book wine country again, I’ll book directly through a different resort and not Booking because the resort told us they couldn’t do anything about our room because we didn’t book through them. I’ve included a couple pictures of what we got and what Booking showed we were supposed to get.
Room dated, spa had green copper color from jests, toilet was rocky & TP holder fell off the wall to my toe. Carpet was very worn, fridge drug on the carpet. the grounds around Villa 16 were not as well maintain as others. The complete grounds are gorgeous. The Spa so relaxing. Great team! The pool needs plastering. The employees are outstanding and is why I will continue to return!!!
The upkeep inside the Villa area 16
Restaurant on site was amazing.
Centrally located in Temecula Wine Country - very large facility. Nice pool and spacious villas. Good food in restaurant.
The hotel feels a bit impersonal/industrial due to the size. The A/Cs in the rooms are very loud and kept us up as they went on and off - they should be modernized. Price-value is a bit off and it would be nice if it included breakfast.
This property and the vineyards are well maintained. If you are going for an overnight stay or longer, I recommend staying in the private villas throughout the property. They do have a main tower hotel, but we love the private villas. The vineyard restaurant which is located across the vineyards is amazing. If you are a hotel guest, shuttles will take you anywhere you wanna go on the property. If you don't want to walk or have mobility issues. Just dail (0).
Atmosphere pleasant. Grounds beautiful! Food tasty in Vineyard Rose restaurant. Jazz concert excellent! We have visited 5 times so far always to attend a concert!
The location was beautiful. The views were beautiful. We had a villa and the patio looked out onto the vineyard giving us marvellous views each morning and evening as we sat outside. The room itself could have done with some modernisation. It was a bit dark and out-dated. However, all was clean and in order. Sadly we weren't around often enough to access all the amenities (it was a very busy holiday), but they looked lovely. The most fabulous thing about this place - and I can't say this more highly about them, is the staff. They were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and nothing was too much out of their way. They were just fantastic. A massive thank you for making our stay to every single one of you.
We really love SCW for its location, food and spa and staff. We had an issue with the air conditioning which can NOT be lowered below 68 and the room was warm. We kept the fan on which helped but seriously, AC should work great and the rooms cool
The location
The villa was old, carpets were not clean and smelled . Coffee machine was not working and we found scorpions in our bathroom
We had an amazing experience celebrating my 50th birthday at South C9ast Winery. Lindy was especially friendly and helpful.
Our stay at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa was extremely disappointing, but the most serious issue was a major guest privacy and security failure. At check-in, 3 of our 6 room keys did not work, and we had to return to the front desk 5 separate times for assistance. What should have been a simple process became frustrating and completely unprofessional. Then something happened that is absolutely unacceptable: we accidentally went to the wrong room, and thought the hotel-issued key unlocked the door to another occupied guest room. I opened the door and walked in on complete strangers. Later management said it wasn’t the key that the guest of that room may have not closed the door right. That the doors don’t always shut correctly. Which was even more concerning because first what are the odds we walk right into a room that didn’t close there door right and does that mean all doors don’t close correctly?? This is far more than a minor inconvenience. Imagine being inside your room and having a stranger suddenly and walk in. This raises serious concerns about the hotel’s key-control system, guest privacy, and security procedures. Management needs to investigate this immediately. Unfortunately, the problems continued. At the pool, despite large groups of more than 20 people, we repeatedly had to ask for towels. Staff would only bring out 2–4 towels at a time, which was completely inadequate. The lobby restrooms near the tasting room also had an extremely foul odor that was impossible to ignore. Dinner at Vineyard Rose was another disappointment. Our group waited far too long to place our order, and several people were unhappy with the short rib entrée. We were the last part with little to no other people dining there. While some of these issues could be considered service problems, the room-key incident is a completely different level of concern. Guests should be able to trust that their room is private and secure. After this experience, we did not feel that way. For a resort of this caliber, we expected professionalism, organization, and basic guest safety. Instead, we experienced repeated service failures and a potentially serious security breach. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend this resort. Management needs to take the room-key issue especially seriously before another guest’s privacy or safety is compromised.
Beautiful main areas of hotel, grounds and restaurant. Every staff member encounter, perfect and courteous. Concept of private 4 plex villas was wonderful. Our room however, was in great need of a complete make over. Resort itself, 4 star. Villa room we rented, a generous 2 star.
Cleanliness, quiet, very friendly staff
The walk back from the main building to the villas was a little dark maybe some more path lights
Really disappointed with our stay. Passed through as a family of 4 (2 children) for a 1 night stay visiting from the UK. Feel totally ripped off. Grounds are beautiful and the location is fantastic. However the reception is extremely dated with dated old ( not classic looking just old and grubby!) sofas in reception and weathered looking facilities. This was also reflected in our villa (number 1502). The windows were absolutely filthy, as were the skirting boards and it needed a good scrub. The bathroom was also dated with stains and clearly in need of an update. I expected ‘classic’ not ‘weathered’. The pool was another story! We managed to get a slightly early check in, but when we arrive at the pool for approx 2pm, the only free seated areas were shaded cabanas with tables. I wanted 4 sun loungers but as there was nowhere else to sit I took a shaded area to park our bags . I was then advised by a member of staff the cabanas were charged at 150 dollars. The cabanas were also filthy inside (stained sofas! & dirty table ) and I certainly did not want to pay, so I advised her that we had nowhere else to go and asked if she waa able to help with sourcing sun loungers. She advised me the sun loungers are reserved for guests and it’s first come first served. It was hardly heaving and I told her I was also a paying guest wanting to sit down and can she show discretion so we can sit in the shade until one becomes available ! There are clearly not enough Sun loungers available for the number of guests. Yet quite a lot of space taken up by cabanas nobody was using !! She pointed to a couple of ‘single Sun beds’ wedged between other groups as ‘available ‘, and I said I would prefer for our the family to stay together and can she please help me source some and / or move some together ( I had my younger son with me at the time). She looked at me as if I had three heads and ignored me and walked off . I was then helped by another family who moved some towels from beds they were not using, and I then I pulled on my own another sun lounger over as the staff member watched me do it. This is not what I expect from a luxury resort ! Lack of facilities for paying guests and snotty staff who clearly lack customer service. I must also add the jacuzzi was green, and in need of a good clean and refresh, surrounded by unkept facilities. In addition to this which we are following up, my husband is convinced his sunglasses have been stolen from the car outside the villa! And to top it off ( hence the negative review), we were not asked if we had a nice stay! Just ‘thanks ‘ for returning the keys ( one that didn’t work!). This is what happens unfortunately when you pay for a premium service and facilities, and don’t receive it . The hotel is dated and some staff members clearly need customer service training.
The lady who checked us in on Saturday night was fantastic and very helpful. We appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine with the room. The room was clean and really comfortable with a nice bathroom. The pool area was really nice as well, albeit very hot that day.
Not many options for food and the pool side bistro was quite pricey what what we got.
The villas were amazing and the food was delicious, they have room services as well.
We chose South Coast Winery Resort & Spa to celebrate my husband's birthday, expecting a relaxing and memorable experience. Unfortunately, our stay began with one of the most unpleasant hotel check-in experiences we have ever had. We arrived at approximately 2:00 p.m. with two rooms reserved. We completed check-in, paid the required incidental deposit, and received our room keys. We were then informed that Room 15-04 was still being cleaned. The staff took back the key to that room while we kept access to Room 15-01. We were offered a different villa, but we declined because we preferred to keep the accommodation we had booked and simply wait until the room was ready. At around 3:40 p.m., after receiving a call from the hotel that the room was ready, we returned to collect the key. At that point, the Front Desk Supervisor, Michael, unexpectedly demanded an additional incidental deposit, even though we had already completed check-in and paid the required deposit. When I questioned this unexpected request, the conversation became extremely unpleasant. Rather than explaining the situation or attempting to resolve it professionally, Michael stated that if we did not immediately pay the additional deposit, our reservation would be canceled and we would not receive the room that had already been fully paid for. I found this behavior completely unacceptable. Guests should never feel pressured or threatened after completing check-in. Throughout the conversation, Michael was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly referred only to "hotel policy" without showing any willingness to assist or communicate respectfully. It is especially disappointing because this happened on my husband's birthday. Instead of beginning our celebration, we were forced into an unnecessary confrontation with the front desk. A luxury resort should provide hospitality, professionalism, and respect—not intimidation. The property itself is beautiful, and the grounds are well maintained. However, the quality of customer service at the front desk fell far below the standard expected from a resort of this level. I sincerely hope management investigates this incident and ensures that future guests are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve.
We visited this beautiful property to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy a concert The location was just perfect! Our villa was spacious and bright. We liked the option of bringing our dog as well. Dinner in the Vineyard Rose Restaurant was top notch. The food was delicious and the service (Mark) exceptional. We will definitely return for another stay in the near future.
Beautiful property! Almost feels as if you own your villa and staying at your own vacation property. Staff was so helpful and friendly! Location to other top wineries (including Carter) is second to none. Wine Club pricing and requirements were the best of any wineries we visited. Can't wait to go back!
It's a very nice hotel as the rooms and bathrooms are lovely. The staff was very welcoming and ready to please. The pool area is equally as nice.
The pull-out couch was extremely thin and uncomfortable, leaving half of us unable to sleep. We needed more pillows and bedding for it as well. The room was only stalked for two people (cups, towels, etc). They should ask when checking in how many people will be in the room.
Confronto, tamanho do quarto, instalações
Os funcionários da recepção são muito secos, falta-lhes simpatia, humanidade, alegria, entusiasmo, prazer em servir.
Super disappointed hotel was considered a luxury hotel. In the wineries. The rooms were very outdated, not very well kept or updated. We got to our door and there were connected lines, food trays on both sides of the hallway, not cleaned up. The room layout was completely awkward. When you walk in the room, you see a dresser nightstand in the bed . Very small walk space between the fot of the bed and the door to the bathroom. And then when you walk in the living room area, it 's one small couch with a tiny round table, and a desk on the side with a chair that doesn't even fit the desk to sit at to work. Most of all, the t v was about 30" and completely across the room diagonally from the bed where you couldn't really even watch t v in bed realistically. The rooms are way overpriced for what you get. No bathroom amenities, a room service menu was printed out on paper and stapled. We had no hot water in the first room that we were staying in and had to get dressed packed and be moved to another room and didn't get to bed till about 2am. Only compensation we got was resort fees waived, which we didn't even use the resort because we checked out. I would not recommend staying here for the price we paid let alone just the overall appearance of the rooms.
Overall our experience was amazing! All staff were friendly, kind, and helpful! The Classic 25th Anniversary Massage was fabulous!! I also added a Moroccan Oil Hair & Scalp Treatment, and we finished our day with a luxury pedicure. We had some minor issues in our Villa the first night, and the DIY Paint & Sip was disappointing. However, a wonderful experience overall! Would definitely come again!
The quiet location and the serene environment
Not a lot of coffee and water in the rooms, need more than a days worth
Just a wonderful property, it is very well maintained and the staff is just great. I would highly recommend staying here. When we are in Temecula we always stay here. Just so relaxing and enjoyable.
Everything was excellent! We enjoyed our stay in a comfortable cozy villa. During our stay we dined at the Vineyard Rose restaurant, the food and wine were delicious! I discovered my new favorite wine, I highly recommend the South Coast Winery Sparkling Pinot Grigio! the massages at the Grape Seed Spa we fabulous! Everything we experienced during our stay was perfect!
This was my first time visiting a winery and I was completely blown away by the service and friendliness of the staff. They treated us like royalty in every part of the trip. From checking in, to the giftshop, to the wine tasting room, everyone we came into contact with went above and beyond to make us feel special. We're already planning on coming back!
The property and location are very scenic.
The room seemed to be missing some furniture. No coffee table in the sitting area. We ordered room service and there was not place to put the food.
This is definitely our favorite place to stay at when we visit Temecula. We especially like the villas as there are two separate rooms that connect which is perfect when staying with friends or couples. The pool and hot tub area is also really nice.
Nice place. Recommendation would be to do a "Refresh" on the Villas The view was beautiful staying within the vines ... great opportunity for photos.
Nice room, wonderful view, comfortable location, great amenities .. awesome friendly staff ( Enjulie was wonderful at check in ! )
The front desk check in was smooth, her name was Enjuli ( I may have missed spelled ). We got in earlier than check in time and she accommodated that because the room was available- we were just gonna store our luggage and didnt ask for it but she offered, I thought that was going over and above .. it set the tone for our stay 😊
The bath tub was hard to get in and out of .. decor is a bit dated
I love Temecula - I've had good stays at So. Coast before.
Something was wrong with the air conditioner unit. It was so bad I recorded the loud noises it was making. It was very difficult to sleep, after awhile we couldn't sleep at all. The location of the room on the property was not very nice.
Let's begin by what is good : - Ideally situated in Temecula - The property is nice - The restaurant is fine, nothing fancy, just fine That being said, let's go to the reasons why we let 2/5 stars: - The lack of planning is impressive. It looks like their team was not aware that July 4th would be a busy weekend. The room were not ready at Check in time. If you expect to take a relaxing shower after your long drive, please forget and be patient. They are also clearly understaffed. - That brings us to the second point, probably because the team is lacking resources, they could be rude to the clients. We understand it could be hard to welcome hundreds of clients, but be respectful and polite would be the minimum. - The room are clearly not to the level of quality you expect for $400 a night. Items were missing, the soap dispenser was empty and got refilled only the day after, the coffee machine was not working, and when they sent a remplacement, the water filter was gross. - But overall what really bothered us was that the cleaning team does not respect your stuff. They took some of our clothes because they probably did not pay attention when they were cleaning. We had to leave without these clothes, because they did not go through the laundry when we had to leave. Well that was a once experience. We talked with people that come often to this property, and they told us they were not surprised. We will not come back and do not recommend this property at all. Save your money and go somewhere else!
Concerts in garden with BPM, Apaulo Productions summer series is outstanding.
Couch in room was worn, pillows we were uncountable
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. The hotel’s exterior is beautiful and creates a great first impression, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. The room was extremely disappointing. The couch looked so old, worn out, and beaten up that it honestly looked like it belonged in a dumpster rather than a hotel room. The ceiling fan made an incredibly loud noise every time it was turned on, making it difficult to sleep or even relax. The most disturbing part of my stay was finding a cockroach crawling around the bathroom while I was getting ready. Seeing a cockroach in the room was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about the hotel’s cleanliness and maintenance. Considering how much I paid for this stay, I expected a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained room. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. The hotel has great curb appeal, but the rooms do not reflect the quality or value for the price. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because, until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend staying here.

I love the villas and the privacy factor. They were a little outdated but still very nice. Need new beds that aren’t so firm.
The villas being more private than a typical hotel.
Always great low key place to stay...the villas are spacious with spacious bathroom and hotel and winery grounds are beautiful love visiting even thought rooms are a bit dated and need updating
Very pretty venue. Food was OK but not spectacular. Not a lot of people so turnover of food probably not as much as could be. Salmon on salad was excellent. Spare ribs fatty and average at best. Breakfast had potatoes that were not fully cooked- admittedly at opening time. Breakfast with smoked salmon was on very stale untoasted bread (not a bagel) that could not be cut with a knife. Salmon itself was fine. I expect more for the price. Pool and spa was quite nice. Staff extremely friendly. Shuttle service excellent. Wine was OK but not up to Napa or Pasa Robles standards. This is my third time at this resort- I will go somewhere else nextime.
The front deck was so unpleasant. I also mentioned so manu times that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at this place and if i could request for a good view of the winery. I was put in Room 105 the end room. The view is ugly, the balcony was filthy with so much spider web. and this girl was also the one who was there when we checked out. She needs to be trained how to talk to clients. My husband works in a hotel as a front desk manager. for 25 years. We also saw a charge of $41 something and she said it was the wine and chocolate cover straberry that was in the refrigerator. Then when we got home, i was informed that those were from my bestfriends. They are the one who ordered them ans paid for them. They also sent an anniversary greeting card that i did not received. Both my husband and i are so disappointed with Southcoast winery.
The price was higher than antiscipated, the pool was very crowded with a lot of trash around it, they ran out of towels and only replenish them at certain times so good luck if you go in the pool at the wrong time. All the staff are very friendly but I think they are under staffed. The room was a goofy layout with the TV way over in the cornor of the room so we never turned it on. The sheets didn't fit the bed so it was always coming up. It's more of a wedding destination event center than a luxury hotel.
The hotel was a huge disappointment. We had requested an upper floor months in advance and had to wait 45 minutes after arrival and only got the room because I pressed the front desk Five minutes after being in our room apparently another couple was issued the same room with key cards and they walked in on us. Although the rooms tout large square footage, the floor plans are awkwardly laid out. The shower is odd as the shower head is tight in a triangular corner with a very low flow shower head. A good or bad shower can totally reflect on your over all guest experience

I recently stayed at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and was disappointed by several aspects of my experience. The most concerning issue was being charged a $100 smoking fee after checkout despite the fact that neither I nor anyone in my party smoked inside the room. My partner and I stay in hotels frequently, often two or more times per month, and in all of our years of travel we have never been charged a smoking fee. We understand hotel policies regarding smoking and would never be careless enough to smoke in or around a guest room. During our stay, we found cigarette butts left behind by a previous guest outside the room. We cleaned them up ourselves and placed them in a brown paper bag before disposing of them in the room's trash can. When the housekeeping supervisor informed me of the smoking charge, I immediately explained that the cigarette butts had been found outside the room and were brought inside solely for disposal. Despite this explanation, I was told that the presence of the cigarette butts in the room's trash can was sufficient evidence to assess the fee. I found this policy and its application to be unreasonable, especially considering that there was no evidence that anyone had actually smoked in the room. At no point was I shown photographs, documentation, or any other evidence demonstrating that smoking had occurred inside the room. Our stay also got off to a frustrating start due to inaccurate information provided by the front desk. We arrived around 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening after traveling and were very hungry. A staff member named Michael advised us that although in-room dining was nearing closing time, they would still accept our order if we left a voicemail. We followed those instructions and left our order approximately 30 minutes before service ended. After waiting more than an hour and a half with no food and no return call, we decided to try another option that Michael had recommended—a speakeasy across the street that we were told served food late into the evening. When we arrived, we discovered that it had already been closed for about an hour. As a result, we spent a significant portion of our first night searching for food because both recommendations provided by the hotel turned out to be incorrect. I also had an issue involving personal property. After checking out, I spent some additional time enjoying the pool before leaving the resort. During that time, I realized I had left several suits in the room. Housekeeping informed me that they had recovered the suits and returned them to me. However, a brand-new black tie that had been hanging with the suits was missing. When I asked staff about it, no one could provide an explanation for what had happened to it or where it had gone. What makes these issues particularly disappointing is that we were staying in one of the resort's private villas and chose this property expecting a premium experience and a higher level of service. While the grounds and overall property are beautiful, being charged a smoking fee without clear evidence, receiving inaccurate information from staff that directly affected our stay, and having personal property go missing without any meaningful follow-up fell well below the standard I expected from a resort of this caliber. I hope management reviews both the smoking fee assessment process and its lost-and-found procedures to prevent future guests from having similar experiences.
Me encantó lo grande que es y todos sus espacios, despertar en la mañana y ver el vineyard .
During our stay, our vehicle was broken into and my wallet was stolen. Based on the timing of the incident, the nature of the purchases made using my cards, and details that were known about our attendance at a wedding, I have serious concerns about the security of the property. What was especially troubling was learning that there are no security cameras covering the Villa 2604 area. In this day and age, a lack of surveillance in guest parking and villa areas is unacceptable and leaves guests with little protection or recourse when crimes occur. This experience was extremely upsetting and significantly impacted our stay. As a result, I would not choose to stay at this property again and cannot recommend it to others who value safety and security.
Beautiful and relaxing property and very welcoming staff! We loved the 3rd floor room with balcony over the vineyard. We will definitely go back! Special shout out to Macy at guest services but really the whole staff was great! We joined the wine club and went to the spa as well. All of it was delightful
Very small details only- would be great to have robes in the room and since we were in a Syrah suite, maybe a single packet bath salts with such a beautiful tub. Wine tasting room was VERY loud and unrelaxing with no outside patio seating option that day. We wandered over to the members lounge and met Kate at the desk and she was FABULOUS. We joined the WV because of her
Overall it was such an amazing atmosphere, cleanliness, and experience to have. The restaurant and food was awesome. All the staffs were nice, polite, and helpful at all times. I would definitely recommend it to everybody to at least experience it once in their lifetime.
It had everything we needed for our stay!
We were totally satisfied, disliked nothing!
Clean, great location.
Nothing bad to say.
Great place to do wine tasting and relax! Our family stayed one night and enjoyed the property, the food, and some great wine.
Great setting. Unfortunately the hotel decor and furnishings were worn and tired for the price we paid.
Looked great, but had a insect issue in the room, slept terribly and had to deal with a unprofessional security guard. Was also not as well maintained as we had expected. The restaurant and grounds, were incredible but we aren't likely to return to the hotel.
We love staying at the South Coast Winery! The grounds are beautiful, the villas are charming and very private. The staff are courteous and helpful, and the onsite amenities are wonderful. We’re wine club members, and we plan to stay often!
Excellent hotel. Great view of the grape vines and hills from our balcony. Location was close to most of the popular wineries in Temecula.
We have stayed here many times always renting a Villa. Villas come with a private patio to enjoy morning coffee, to read or have a glass of wine in the evening. The restaurant has a nice bar with talented bartenders. The restaurant itself is quite lovely, with food that satisfies. Service is top notch. The pool is in a lovely setting with food and drink delivered to you. The grounds are well cared for and add to your overall enjoyment. Everyone that works here go out of their way to ensure you enjoy yourself and will return.
we came for my son's soccer tournament. nice property all around. the hotel itself is low rise and slightly dated. however, that's made up for with the winery and tasting room and the grounds they occupy. we brought the kids so perusing the tasting room was a bit ambitious. lots of bachelor and bachelorette parties and the accompanying debauchery that surrounds those occasions. but, we managed thanks to the space in outdoor areas of the winery. the room itself was very spacious and afforded us a nice view of the vineyard outside. we were on the 2nd floor had a walled off balcony area that was not as pleasant to have to stand over to see anything. but, there was a nice seating area. we had a king sofa bed in the room which was nice perk. unfortunately, that thing had seen better days. the bathroom was large and had a huge soaking tup. we did order room service, but, surprisingly, it came in to-go containers. i would've thought a place like this would have actual plates and silverware. overall, a nice stay. the price was a little inflated due to the tournament, but, we'd stay again if the price was right.
I plan to come back. The Mountain View rooms are very nice. Room decor a little dated but still very nice. Breakfast was odd that we had to wait a bit even though there were open tables, this could have been a staffing problem. Breakfast service was slow but staff was very polite. Summary: great place to stay, polite staff, fun tasting room, quiet, easy parking, pool was great, the 3 night stay offer was very competitive and a great deal!! We would return.
SCW is a terrific place to stay. Great locationg. Amazing staff and amazing food. I do not drink wine so I have no idea how good their wine is. I had 2 small issues. One with the TV which no longer carries The Golf Channel (they removed it from their channels very recently) and the room did not have a table with a lamp so that I could work. I worked around these things but they are minor. The SCW is really a wonderful place to stay.
The vinyard and grounds were beautiful. The bartender at the restaurant was top notch and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The hotel staff was friendly in making the reservations but less helpful once we were on site. The beds were comfortable but the room itself was very old and rundown. I think I'd try another hotel/resort on my next visit to Temecula.
Great location. We enjoyed the balcony of our suite and the vineyard view.
It is not a resort. The beds were very uncomfortable. Flashing lights from the AC unit all night , could not sleep. Poor amenities AC didn’t work.
Very clean, great service, very comfortable and loved the location.
The facilities, the people, the food. South Coast is a beautiful resort, and we've stayed many times. It's an excellent home base for wine tasting in Temecula. We enjoy visiting mid-week, non-Holiday.
Reserving only one night.
We have been coming to South Coast for 20+ years. What's not to like? K!eep up the great work, we'll be back soon and hopefully try your award winning wines.
I've never left a negative hotel review, but in this case I think it's worth sharing for the sake of transparency. The room we were given was awkward and felt like it used to be a hallway or similar type space. The room also had a very musty odor and overlooked the parking lot. The property itself is beautiful and the tasting room and spa/pool are great, but our accommodation and communication with the hotel was disappointing.
Lovely resort in Temecula, enjoyed attending a destination wedding. Food, Service, location are exceptional but minor things gotta be improved like guest room key system and shower
Rapport qualité-prix moyen.
The landscape, the cozy villas with fireplaces, the winery, the food and service at the Vineyard Rose, the proximity to so many wonderful wineries. All next level wonderful.
A little background here may help readers in their decision making in choosing a place in Temecula. Two years ago, my wife and I spent five days at Ponte Winery which is adjacent to SCW. We loved everything about our stay and the town of Temecula, which prompted us to return but this time we booked SCW which appeared very nice and offered lovely villas which Ponte did not. We ended up regrating our decision mainly because of the poor physical condition of our villa. The property layout is wonderful, but it needs a major updating. On a positive note, our villa was located only a few steps from a delightful pool, and the pool staff was especially pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is quite large and decent but no match for the small, charming restaurants at Ponte. Bottom line is SCW has lots of untapped potential and is no match for Ponte.
We really enjoyed our stay. The food, service, beauty, and relaxation were very enjoyable! The only suggestion is to add a happy hour with music.
Four of us came to Temecula and can't wait to come back. It is beautiful and delicious food and wine. We stayed in a villa at South Coast Winery and it was wonderful, clean, the villas were roomy with a wonderful shower. Beds were comfortable. Only wish they didn't have carpet, although the carpet looked new, I love hardwoods, they seem less dusty.
Fabulous resort, spacious rooms, delicious food, and great wine. Our time there was a lot of fun, even with the rain....
Lovely location not far from Old Town Temecula, Very Friendly check in staff. Beautiful property with flowers and wine vines throughout. Restaurant on the property is warm and cozy.
My partner and I stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend, and had an overall negative experience. At check in, we were assigned a room that did not meet our reservation requests (which we had called to confirm well in advance). Later at the restaurant (Vineyard Rose), we encountered a hostess that was both unhelpful and dismissive. What she had estimated to be a 10 minute wait for outdoor seating, resulted in a 40+ minutes wait, only to be told (after the fact) that outdoor tables were no longer available. In both cases, staff made no attempt to address the situation. We understand that it was a busy weekend and don't expect perfect hospitality at all times. But the poor communication and overall lack of consideration for the guest experience is what we cannot accept. This type of service may be adequate for casual travelers (perhaps bachelor/bachelorette groups), but those looking to enjoy a relaxing and romantic getaway with a loved one would be best advised to stay elsewhere.
The rooms here were fine, they could use more blankets and the pillows were awful. But the real disappointment was the restaurant - they could not seat our large party and separated us into 2 separate sections, the asst manager Krystal saying that one waiter could not wait on all of us or take our orders at the same time because it would overwhelm the kitchen. Oddly, they put us in 2 different sections - adults at one table and the kids across the room - but the SAME waiter waited on us and took our orders AT THE SAME TIME anyway. When we confronted Krystal about this, she had no reasonable explanation and had trouble articulating because she had no justifiable reason for her claims! The restaurant was very sparse by the way, tons of room! Very disappointing to not have a resolution or any inkling of customer service to make our dining experience more enjoyable. To top it off, the food was subpar, steaks overcooked and bland and the waiter did not even pour our wine for us - and this is a winery for godsakes!!! They could see how unhappy and frustrated we were and they made zero attempt to make our dining experience pleasant. No apology, no complimentary glass of wine or dessert - nothing. Would not recommend this establishment or service to anyone.
Lovely stay! The property was in an ideal location, but what made the stay extra special was your associates, especially Amari at the front desk. Very personable and helpful, taking the time and care to find the perfect room for us. Her service level went beyond expectations. She’s a gem!
Website is deceiving. This property is dated and rooms in the main hotel are old and uncomfortable. Our room overlooked the front entrance and the driveway. Spa was nice. Pool gets crowded on weekends with parties, kids. Not an ideal spot. Highly suggest going to a neighboring property.
I booked this trip for my parent’s wedding anniversary and they had such a great time! Everyone treated them with the utmost respect and when my mom had a request regarding something in the room, they sent assistance immediately. My husband and I had stayed here in the past and we were so happy with our experience that I made sure to book my parents a stay of their own. We all love the ambiance in the tasting room and love walking the grounds of the resort!
My sister and I went for the weekend - girls trip. From the time we checked in to checking out - it was a great experience. The room was super nice and the pool area and staff - shout out - such a good time. We will be back!
Very large rooms has comfortable king sized bed and plenty of space. Room had generous bathroom with a bathtub that could comfortably fit someone who is 6’3”. Our room had a direct view of the vineyard and it was so beautiful we ended up canceling dinner and ordering room service just to spend more time on the balcony.
Beautiful and well maintained. Loved all the wine I tasted!
Called reception at night a couple of times and both times was transferred to an operator who did not answer!
Very nice and helpful staff. Spacious room with great amenities. We will come back again. I highly recommend this hotel.
The room was very nice and the private balcony and soaking tub were added bonuses. A beautiful property among the vineyards. The best part was the delicious food at the restaurant and the pampering services at the spa.
We attended their NYE celebration and it was awful. Worst experience ever. They only served appetizers which was like cafeteria food (2 pieces hawaiian rolls with pulled pork, boiled carrots and string beans, chips and salsa. There were also desserts which tasted like days old). The the tribute band was ok however their sound system was so bad. We only stayed for an hour and left before welcoming the new year. We also stayed at the villa room (since we did not want to drive home after the party) and this also needs some updating. Carpet is old and dingy.
I was hesitant to book because of the bad weather, but they told me I could still enjoy certain areas during my stay with my pet, just not the pool. I tried to find someone to watch my 10-pound dog for an hour so I could go to the spa, but I couldn't. I wanted to eat at the restaurant, but they told me I couldn't because they don't allow dogs. I ended up just staying in my room, even though I live only half an hour away, which would have saved me a lot of money if I had just gone there and back. The whole point was to go out and enjoy myself. I also wasn't offered the discounts they said they would provide for the wine tasting. When I tried to make coffee, the machine was dirty. The staff were friendly and the rooms were nice, but in this rainy weather, it's only worthwhile if you absolutely need a place to stay. For sightseeing, dining, and wine tasting, I recommend staying somewhere closer. You'll save a lot of money at another dog-friendly place since you won't be able to enjoy the vineyard in the rain, and the food is expensive to only eat in your room.
This was my first time visiting South Coast Winery Resort. But will not be the last. Beautiful property with great views, staff and rooms. Definitely, a gem worth visiting.
Very nice quaint and cosy experience as a family. We enjoyed the fireplace in the villa, and such a beautiful and nicely heated pool with gorgeous grounds for strolls. All employees were so friendly and helpful.
great resort, bad checkout experience, was rushing us out the door, despite the resort being maybe 25% full that day. lovely romantic rooms, but the staff was rude to get us out of the room despite the wide open availability. Only accommodation was to give us a bottle of wine. Likely will not return.
Loved the little bungalo we stayed in with a fireplace and the outdoor seating, so cozy. They gave us a bottle of wine at check in which was actually amazing!! Would come back buy that!
The rooms at South Coast are lovely, and Paola Hernandez was great to work with for our group event. The setting is stunning!
South Coast Winery is perfectly located, has a remarkable restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner every night, has a great staff and is beautiful. I am not sure what else you could ask for from a hotel. The spa was great. But the food was exceptional.
This was a very nice hotel to spend a weekend with friends. The pool was beautiful and the grounds were very nice. Short drive to wineries and old town
Macy was incredible to my wife and I. Thank you Macy for making our stay unforgettable. You definitely helped salvage our experience at Carter Estates.
Setting is lovely.
Had not refreshed the rooms with carpet or updated furniture or fixtures in several years and it shows. For people with dogs it would be nice if the patio was gated.
It’s beautiful, it did not disappoint. Every person we dealt with was kind, professional & attentive!
There was a black widow in the bathroom. That’s about it, it creeped me out, I hate critters but other than that, we loved it.
We enjoyed good service. Comfortable suite with large bath. Spa close by. Nice restaurant/bar.
The room is old fashioned, should be updated. The mattress was too hard, and should have large and softer pillows at king size bed.
