The room was freshly decorated, the bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was new and clean.

There we not enough towels in the bedroom only 1 bath towel, 2 of us booked in. The TV was not turned on, had to go back down to reception to ask them to tune the tv in. The lift was broken. £10 is a lot to ask for seeing we are using the hotel and paid for facilities. Parking should 100% be free.

Our rrom was on the third floor, the lift was out of order without any information about it from the staffs We had to be dragging our suitcases on the stairs to the 3rd floor Hot water was not running in the bathroom, it took us more than 4 hours waiting for someone to come check it after going back and forth to complain at the reception climbing the stairs the the 3rd floor everytime and they used another 2 hours fix it we couldn't use the bathroom or toilet for hours. we even asked the staff to change our room but no response, no empathy, The food was also horrible, it was not fresh, seems like someone's left over and it was not cheap. I have never been to such hotel before, it was so horrible that we had to check out a night before our check out date.

The fish n chips were nice. It was great that the hotel had a pool and spa area.

I booked a club room and paid quite a lot for the room It was exactly the same as a standard room. It just has an expresso machine. The lift was not working so I was on the third floor having to carry my luggage. The staff promised to help and even though the reception is self check in, they still ended up being very busy. For a four star hotel, I was very disappointed.

The lift was out of order and we were in rhe 3rd floor. I have arthritis in my knees so the stairs were a struggle. We ate in the bar area and were asked to move at 8pm so they could set up for breakfast which was very inconvenient with SEN children. Tje bar was busy with just one member of staff. The wait to be served was at least 20 minutes for both food and drink.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Food was yummy and my daughter loved the buffet every morning. Swimming pool was fun for all.

They carried out a fire drill without mentioning it which panicked my daughter.

Just suggestions to add a herbal tea or two and hot choc to drinks near the kettle. And consider better lighting options for women doing their make up. Otherwise I can't think of any more suggestions.

Unfortunately, some of the bar staff were inattentive and didn't keep track of who was next themselves - instead asking customers. It felt like a challenge to get served in order without annoying other customers They also didn't acknowledge customers at the bar, or there were lots of staff milling about but no one serving or recognising that there were people waiting and stopping what they might have been doing to help. My room was also excessively hot, and this was when it wasn't particularly hot outside. The portable room fan did not help that much because the windows could not be opened fully to let hot air out and cold air in - only about 2" each. It was stifling. Even after leaving the window 'open', blind half down, and the fan on all day it was still no cooler in there. I was on the 3rd floor and as you walked up the stairs from the ground floor you could feel the air getting hotter and hotter. The design (or use) of the hotel ventilation is totally ineffective.

Its tired and overpriced, colleagues of mine avoid it On this occasion the lift was out of service and so lugged everything up to third floor No air con , just a fan in the room, you would expect ac for the price they charge Dinner is ok but just ok its like having your dinner in a sports bar I stay there for the gym which is quite good but it was so hot i could not sleep so did not use gym in the morning the place feels a bit worn out

We had to leave early 7am next morning. We asked if there if we could have breakfast or something before we left, we were told that staff and breakfast weren't available before 8am. I was disappointed because we had booked and paid for breakfast. Furthermore, the lift wasn't working and I had to walk up 3 flights to get to my room. I was told that the lift has been out of order for the last 12 days.

No air conditioning, an additional charge to use the pool, and you even have to pay extra to park at a hotel you’re already paying to stay at — I really can’t understand this. We booked the hotel as a family treat for one night before the athletics, so we were particularly disappointed that the rooms didn’t have air conditioning. The room was unbearably hot and uncomfortable, which completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable stay. For the price we paid, it felt like a complete waste of money, which is such a shame. To make matters worse, one member of staff offered us some money off due to our experience, but unfortunately this wasn’t passed on to their colleague. When we checked out, we explained the situation but were told they couldn’t help. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We certainly wouldn’t visit again, which is a shame as we had been looking forward to our stay.

No air conditioning in the rooms. The hotel is not catered for children? Kids swimming 2-5pm, which is ridiculous in the school holidays. Advertise that kids eat free throughout the summer holidays yet this is also only until 5pm. The lift was also out of order. No cold water running through bathroom tap and low pressure, so showering and flushing was poor! Very disappointed with this hotel !

Great place really nice location the rooms are nice and spacious. Also the electric chargers are very convenient.

The car parking is a big secret I was unaware on check in you had to pay. The checking in machines are shocking! Very intermittent to the point I gave up and asked for a human.

I’ve always liked staying at the village. It’s clean and normally quite comfortable and it’s also easy for me to visit family who live close by and easy to get into Birmingham.

The morning after I arrived I found that there was no hot water. I wasn’t able to shower and it was even more of an inconvenience as I had my 4 month old grandson with me. I was also late to attend a wedding due to not being able to get ready on time. The day of check out I was told that I had not paid and I had to show my banking app to prove that I had paid this was quite embarrassing in front of other guests and I still didn’t get an apology or get to speak to the manager. I don’t know if I’ll be staying at the village again.

The only downfall 2 staying here was the room was way 2 hot. There was a fan in the room but just didnt help really at all

The shower in our bathroom was for a disabled person, and I wasn’t told about this till I saw the bedroom, I then raised it with reception and was told they can’t do anything when I attempted to showered my child in there the whole bathroom got flooded and I was unable to use it after this. My husband was bitten by something whilst sleeping. The check in process took 25 mins as someone told me something else on the phone and then when I went in they disagreed with what was said on the phone.

The location

The room was extremely hot, no air on and the window hardly opened, there was an air con machine running below my room that was really noisy so I couldn’t sleep. The room was on the top floor and the lift was out of action. The bar and all tables were full of people remainders and I had to clean the table myself. The server I assume was the manager was really rude and left my drink at the Guinness pump at the opposite side of the bar I was being served at and had a really bad attitude when serving my for food even though there was still half hour left to eat.

The beds were comfy, clean and big. The showers are lovely and the room a good size. Plenty of seating for breakfast and the food was good.

I arrived just after midnight having booked 3 rooms to be told that the policy of the hotel is to overbook and that I may need to find another hotel. A very unenthusiastic young member of staff went off to check IF rooms were clean or not. How did staff not know this already? Who am I being told that we may not have rooms when there clearly were and I had a paid booking? I find this awful and the customer service appalling. I also arrived in my room to have a noisy fan with no air conditioning. I appreciate the rooms do not have it fitted but at least invest in better equipment.

Room are so warm and only supplied with a rubbish fan. The hotel should really consider upgrading fans or installing aircon into the rooms.

No aircon. One little fan isn't enough for a 34 degree night. Not the Hotels fault but the gypsies moving in on the car park for 24 hours had those of us with vehicles out there on edge all night. Maybe some height barriers are needed with paying customer with vans given access only.

On arrival, the car park was full of rubbish. A lot of KFC rubbish was also present. Only one towel in room even though I’d booked for two people. No batteries in remote so couldn’t use TV or order anything in room. Shower tray was heavily stained and not clean. Outside full of cigarette butts and beer stains. Not pretty.

Coach full of children turned up running up and down the corridors throughout the early hours of the morning staff weren’t much help and just seemed really dismissive. Pool is mediocre and very busy. If i’m paying extra for access to the pool i don’t expect it to be open to the public.

I was situated room 310 above the out door bar area which was loud past 1am keeping me awake leading to poor sleep the night before a competition in Birmingham. I have complained direct with the hotel as my overall experience was shocking.

Air conditioning needs to be installed as room was very hot and the little fan provided just circulated the hot air.

We liked the location as it is near to where we needed to be. The bed was comfortable and clean. Evening meal was lovely, and the staff were excellent looking after us in the bar area. My husband said the breakfast was very nice too.

We assumed the bedrooms would have air conditioning so in the heat wave it was difficult at 36 degrees. There was a fan in the room which was a Godsend. We were charged for two breakfasts although we only listed one was required and have not had time to pick this up with the hotel. Outdoor seating is good but it would be nice to have a no smoking area designated to those who smoke. I felt the hotel bedroom was in general need of an update.

I’m sorry but it was ridiculously hot in the rooms. I know that it was a warm weekend but it wasn’t scorching. God knows what it will be like this week! I asked for an extra fan which I was kindly provided with but it was very poor and didn’t help.
