La disponibilité du personnel et leur gentillesse
Beautiful heritage hotel in a perfect location. The staff were so helpful and the food delicious. There is a small pool and gym facilities. It is haven of tranquility and calm.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel great rooms. Very comfortable and big The staff is great and helpful Food was very tasty. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel
Location and ambience
Long waiting in the restaurant
Great location, interesting history and best food
The only thing that makes me happy is the way you made the room and the bathtub and I like the way you did the dishes
The only thing that I don’t like about the property is nothing
Flexibility of staff to cater for early starts on our trips, location was really easy for navigating around the city also and only a short walk from the train station
The menu was bland. The Rogan Josh was cooked in a tasteless generic red masala, rather than “cooked in oil with an intense sear” which is literally what Rogan Josh means! Room service, on the one occasion we ordered it, was drinks only and took 45 minutes to come. No discount at all… When ordering chicken with a side of jeera rice, the chicken was brought out first and followed by the rice 20 minutes later. By this point the chicken was stone cold.
Love the decor, well maintained facilities. The staff and management were so very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, well maintained & beautifully decorated. Loved our stay!
Trying hard to find some constructive feedback: the bottom of shower glass and and floor tile in shower near the glass, need some attention. Buffet items could be expanded more. (Other hotels have more choice)
Everything was excellent. the service, food and overall experience. The location was very convenient as well.
the doors to the bathroom and the balcony had problems with the locks.
Magnifique hôtel et personnel très professionnel
The charm and hospitality
Rooms and bathrooms are outdated, needs to be renovated. Especially the bathrooms. Cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms
Great location and a fabulous room. A great base from which to explore Mysore
A beautiful regal hotel with spacious rooms and large balconies. Pool and gym were good. Outdoor grill and tandoor restaurant was fantastic. Happy hour at bar was very good value.
Just a bit more care needed in charging back to room, after we checked out and on the road they picked up a meal had been missed to our room and charged to another. Being international tourists, a lot harder to retro pay for it.
Beautiful heritage hotel, very refined, peaceful, stylish and charming, nice people, perfect service, Do not miss this enjoyable and affordable luxury !
The hotel is stunning and cozy. Pallabi was very sweet and helpful during meals. We loved the room as well. It was massive.
Everything was fabulous
Location
Staff and service
There are 2 suggestions . 1) Doors leading to the balcony has glass partition at the top so it becomes very bright early morning itself particularly in east facing rooms . So if there is a curtain / screen it will be helpful . 2) For complimentary snacks it is better if you keep snacks prepared by your chefs only instead of using stored / packaged snacks .
Breakfast, and restaraunt
Horrible bed, mattress was very very soft due to excess use. Sheets/comforter were unwashed, could smell earlier guests' cologne on that.
Property location, historical and well maintained
Room amenities, mattress, privacy in the balcony
Everything
The facility was located centrally. But during the day the traffic outside the facility was extremely noisy with horns honking loudly. So if you are planning a staycation and quiet during the day or are working remotely- this is not conducive esp. if your room faces the road. The door to our room was not as secure as we would have liked it. I understand this is an old guest house renovated to be a hotel, but the door not being secure was uncomfortable for us to leave. This is important as the hotel notes said to not bring any valuables to the hotel!
The front desk staff was friendly but the bell boys & other staff were always hanging around expecting tips for small tasks even opening the car door. The restaurant attached to the hotel was seriously unimpressive. The wait for food was extremely long & the food selection was mediocre at best. The waiters were inattentive.
Magnifique !
the hotel is very convenient and near to many famous places. The heritage feel was very good. Breakfast was okay. not a wide spread but it was enough.
Bathroom should be maintained a bit more. it feels very old. The commode lids were not in good condition. Also there is no exhaust fan and the exhaust window is facing the corridor. first time i have seen this in a hotel. it felt very awkward to use the restroom. for dinner, one staff was good. others were all like running us away kind though it was only 9:30-10 pm. the main course was brought out immediately after starters and before we finished our drinks. Breakfast time also, though there were so many staff, to get someone to pay attention was very difficult.
There was a bit of delay during check-in , but the staff more than made it up with their hospitality, kudos, very professional and a beautiful & rustic property to stay, thank you for the great memories !!
The hotel seems run down and not maintained as per standards. The room size is good but the beds are broken and the mattress was work out with a large bend. The bathroom has broken tiles and stains. Breakfast was also very average. Overall not satisfactory for the money they charged.
Rooms need new beds, Bathroom need to have new fixtures and tiles. Poor quality . Seems like a 2 star local hotel
Location
Courtyard setting with large mango trees.
Ground floor room was dark and staff were friendly but slightly disorganised e.g. around things like cleaning of the room and extended check out time.
Lovely old property with friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a Maharaja room which was huge with a balcony overlooking the lawn. Bathroom was excellent and had a separate shower and spa bath. The evening restaurant in the courtyard was very good with tasty food well cooked.
The pool looked a little tired and the breakfast buffet was ok but no great variety. Afternoon tea was just a cup of tea with a tea bag and a biscuit. Not particularly worth going to the hotel for.
The property was quaint and beautiful - a throw back in time. Staff were very attentive without being pushy.
That i booked on here and paid almost twice the fee had i gone direct.
Ok ok
Not any good
Architecture and restaurant. The half board deal.
You can really hear the traffic noise from the pool.
Old colonial style - a piece of history!
Nothing
Breakfast was not that great, Dinner was awsome
A heritage property.
Le coté historique de l’établissement
We stayed for 2 nights at The Royal Orchid Hotel. The location was perfect for us near the train station (we travelled by train from Bangalore), and within walking distance from the old market and Mysore Palace. The hotel dinner was excellent with many food options to choose from. We had a heritage suite, which was also excellent and refreshed with towels and toiletries several times each day. All staff were friendly, caring and attentive to our needs. A special thank you to the staff, including: Ravi, Shiva and Narayan to name a few, but really to everyone at the hotel who made our trip so memorable.
We rated the hotel an overall eight out of ten because the breakfast was a little disappointing and the complementary high tea turned out to be a free single cup of tea or coffee.
Terrible breakfast compared to other medium-higher end hotels in India.
Location and room and colonial feel
Linen and towels awful!!! Need to renew ASAP
Great Location, super restaurant, carefully curated.
Waiting staff can be slow and unhelpful
It’s a stunning place. Building, interiors - historical gem. Staff members are extraordinary kind, service quality superior. Worth visiting
Lovely historical house in the centre of Mysore, 5 minutes from the main sights. Excellent restaurant
Our "garden room" had car park views
The location was perfect. The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms was upgraded with all luxurious modern facilities. Dinner was scrumptious and breakfast was really good with a big buffet spread and live counters. The staff were very warm and friendly. Overall experience was great.
We loved the hotel. We were in the Royal Maharaja Suite which had a wonderful Jacuzzi. The restaurant was excellent, tasty food and a great choice for breakfast. We also had the high tea served in the rear courtyard which was wonderful. The balcony overlooked the garden and swimming pool which was pleasant.
Nothing.
We LOVED our short stay (2 nights) at the Royal Orchid Metropole! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Upon arrival, they upgraded our room to a suite and it was just incredible and huge! The bed was so comfortable, the room was very clean, we had our own enormous balcony. I loved the layout of the entire hotel which is a heritage property, old world charm with modern amenities. It felt glamorous yet understated and unpretentious. It was my kind of place! The grounds are beautiful, very conveniently located, just a ten minute walk to the best (in my opinion) and oldest market in all of India. I also LOVE that they are trying to reduce plastic waste which is a big problem in India and have filtered glass bottles of water in the rooms which are available for refill on request. The staff were all hospitable, friendly and helpful. We stayed in nine hotels while traveling in India for five weeks, and the Royal Orchid was in our top three favorites. Thank you so much to The Royal Orchid staff for such a lovely and memorable stay. We will be back!
Nothing
Rien
It was our third stay here. Convenient location for airport and railway station and for getting into town centre. Quiet location by Mysore standards. Good pool. Restaurant good and staff very helpful.
The arrogant and rather brusque attitude of some of our fellow guests.
Pool was good. Food was excellent. Staff were great.
AC did not work. All towels smelt bad.
Central hotel is an oasis in a beautiful city
Slightly variable staff
Bathrooms were a little dated.
Heritage an well located
All good . Always full so can be difficult to reserve
Ideally located, great swimming pool , staff really friendly
Look and feel of the palace
Very poor wifi service
It is a heritage property with lots of elements from the past
It can be noisy, as the main road runs past the hotel. There is also a big discrepancy amongst staff. Buffet trays can be left empty, and the level of attention can be lacking at times.
Wonderful
