Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We booked this hotel while it was still being renovated, so all we had to go on were the CGI images. After reading some of the negative reviews that were posted shortly after the hotel reopened, we have to admit we were feeling a little nervous. Before travelling, we emailed the hotel to share our concerns. They replied almost immediately, reassuring us that everything would be completed before our arrival, and that personal response really put our minds at ease. I’m so glad we trusted them because from the moment we arrived until the day we left, we had an absolutely fantastic holiday. This is a genuine 5-star hotel, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Our family room was incredible. It was spread over two floors, giving us all plenty of space. Upstairs, our two teenage daughters had a huge bedroom with their own bathroom, TV and balcony. Downstairs, my husband and I had a massive, comfortable bed, with an extra bed for our 6-year-old son, our own bathroom, patio and private pool – which was definitely one of the highlights of the holiday! The room also included a Nespresso machine, TV, robes and slippers, and a mini fridge that was refilled daily with bottled water. The air conditioning worked brilliantly, which was such a welcome relief after long days in the sun. The food and drinks were exceptional. Breakfast offered a huge variety, but the freshly baked pistachio-filled croissants deserve a special mention – they were absolutely delicious! The pool bar served fantastic lunches with plenty of choice, including gyros, burgers, souvlaki, salads and nachos, all freshly prepared and really good quality. The drinks selection was equally impressive. There was everything from cocktails to smoothies, milkshakes and soft drinks. My personal favourites were the strawberry daiquiris – they were perfect! The pools were lovely and ideal for families. They weren’t too deep, so our son happily spent hours playing in the water. The sunbeds were some of the most comfortable we’ve used, and pool towels were provided and could be exchanged throughout the day whenever needed. There are three à la carte restaurants, and every one of them was excellent. The Italian was fantastic, the open-fire grill restaurant was superb, and the Cretan restaurant was simply beautiful. It’s located right on the seafront, so you can enjoy incredible sunset views while eating delicious food. The seafood there was outstanding. Next door is the seafront bar, which became one of our favourite places to relax with a drink while watching the sun go down. We also visited the restaurant at the sister hotel up the road on our final evening, and it was the perfect way to end our holiday. It felt really special. The staff deserve enormous credit. Every single member of the team worked incredibly hard and always had a smile on their face. A special thank you to Julian, who became our new friend during the holiday, and to everyone working at the pool bar. They work so hard. The location is another huge plus. It’s just a short walk into a beautiful little fishing village with lovely shops, bars and restaurants. We loved wandering there in the evenings, watching the sunset before seeing the fishing boats bobbing on the sea. It was really peaceful. The only very slight downside is that the hotel doesn’t have its own sandy beach. However, they provide a shuttle bus to a beach around 20 minutes away, and if you prefer, you can swim in the sea by the harbour in the village. We honestly had the best family holiday, and we’ll definitely be returning. If you’re hesitating because of some of the early reviews after the reopening, don’t be. Our experience was fab, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing family holiday.
Although we are still staying at Vasia Resort & Spa, we already felt that the incredible staff deserved these kind words. We have stayed at many hotels over the years, but we have never experienced service like this before. Every single member of the team genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure guests have the best possible holiday. You don't just feel like another guest – you feel genuinely welcomed, appreciated and cared for. A very special thank you to Sherilyn at the pool bar. She is one of the kindest people we have ever met. Always smiling, attentive and full of positive energy, she makes every visit to the bar a pleasure. Another huge thank you to John at the seaside restaurant. He is incredibly funny, warm and friendly, and he made us smile every single time we saw him. His personality and hospitality made every meal even more enjoyable. We would also like to mention Richi, who takes care of the pool towels. He puts so much effort into his work and is always helpful, cheerful and welcoming. It's clear that he genuinely cares about every guest's experience. At the Italian restaurant, Julian impressed us with his professionalism. He is attentive, knowledgeable and delivers outstanding service with genuine kindness. And finally, thank you to Christina, the yoga instructor, who is such a lovely person. Her classes are relaxing, welcoming and filled with positive energy. The people are what make Vasia Resort & Spa truly special. Every member of staff works incredibly hard, and together they create an atmosphere that is warm, personal and unforgettable. To the entire team: thank you for everything you do. You have set a new standard for what exceptional hospitality looks like, and we are already certain that this has been one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We are looking forward to enjoying the rest of our stay, and we sincerely hope to return one day.
We returned to Vasia having had a beautiful holiday there in 2024. There have been changes since Marriot have come in to the mix, most for the better, some we have been assured will be improved once all the renovations are complete. The rooms are so lovely, clean, spacious, my 2 daughters were so happy to find they had their own floor up a spiral staircase with their own bathroom and balcony in the 2 bedroom family room we stayed in. With a bathroom downstairs and terrace for us, we were more than happy. The staff were amazing in every area, special mention to Sheryl, Simos, Adrian, Singh, and Richie around the pool (there are 3 pools but we stayed around the main one as it suited us better). Food was amazing in all the restaurants but our favourite was the Greek Restaurant by the seafront, beautiful food, especially the calamari! John and Esmerand made us feel like family and really made our holiday special. The entertainment wasn't as frequent as our last visit but the fire show is still on once a week and a dj slot has been added around the main pool on a sunday which we loved! Overall a wonderful holiday in Vasia, thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome. See you again soon!
We had the best experience at the Vasia gym!The girls at the reception were very kind and helpful. The gym instructor,Dimitris, was very experienced and fun to train with! The gym equipment was awesome! The premises of the gym and spa were very clean and well taken care of!II trained there with my husband and daughter and we absolutely loved it!
We had a fantastic stay at Vasia Resort & Spa with our family and would happily return. The resort is in an excellent location in the heart of Sissi. There is a large supermarket immediately next door, countless charming restaurants and cafés within a short walk, and the beautiful waterfront is just minutes away. It made exploring the town incredibly easy, especially with young children. We booked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite for our family, and it was extremely accommodating with plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. It’s worth noting that the resort was only recently acquired by Marriott and is currently being renovated in phases. The renovated lobby, pool areas, and guest rooms are all beautifully done and give the property a fresh, modern feel. Based on what we’ve seen, I’m sure the remainder of the resort will eventually be renovated to the same standard. The pool area is gorgeous, and our children absolutely loved the water park. The sea is only a two-minute walk away, where there’s a calm cove that’s perfect for swimming with kids. The resort is exceptionally family-friendly. There is a kids’ club available for a small fee, and we appreciated how clean and well-maintained the children’s facilities were, especially the family bathrooms and baby changing areas. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for families traveling with young children. The food was another highlight of our stay. The breakfast buffet offered an extensive selection and was one of the most hygienic buffets we’ve experienced, with food kept behind glass and served by staff. The seaside restaurant serves some of the best Greek food we’ve had—everything was incredibly fresh, and dining there while watching the sunset was unforgettable. The management team deserves special recognition. They were warm, responsive, and genuinely hospitable. They even anticipated our late arrival and had food prepared for us in advance, which was a thoughtful gesture after a long day of travel. We experienced a couple of minor hiccups with housekeeping and food and beverage service during our stay. However, given that the resort is in the midst of a transition and ongoing renovations, these felt understandable. More importantly, once we mentioned the issues, the staff addressed them promptly and everything was quickly put right. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and found Vasia Resort & Spa to be an excellent choice for families. With its outstanding location, spacious accommodations, beautiful facilities, excellent dining, and attentive management, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and look forward to returning.
My family have just returned home from a wonderful week at the beautiful Vasia Resort and Spa. We had high hopes for this newly refurbished resort and were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful, staff are wonderful and the village of Sissi is stunning. We stayed in a sea view Junior Suite ( myself, partner and son) and were very impressed by our room. The resort feels high quality, relaxed and just busy enough to keep our 8 year old son entertained- he made many friends very quickly and cried when we left today! The pools were beautiful and we particularly enjoyed lunch at the poolside bar. Service was excellent throughout our stay. The kids club was great fun, and the staff were fabulous and we had full trust in them looking after our son when he chose to attend. Food was of a high quality, if slightly repetitive however the a la carte and local dining options provided more than enough choice. Thank you so much for giving us a gorgeous holiday. Sherilyn and Giannis deserve a special mention. Such friendly professionals who could not do enough for us. We also fell in live with Garfield, the resident cat 🫶🏼
Booking a hotel that is still undergoing renovation is always a risk, but we decided to give it a try and did not regret it. Of course, not everything is finished and fully set up yet, but overall our holiday was comfortable, and it was actually interesting to watch the changes taking place during our stay. Some unexpected perks, such as a complimentary room upgrade with a sea view and an all-inclusive package that truly included all drinks compensated for the hotel's unfinished details and "teething problems." A huge part of our positive impression came from the people working there. The reception team was efficient and well-organized. The maintenance staff quickly fixed a couple of minor issues in our room and, unexpectedly, spoke good English. The housekeeping staff in our block were exceptionally friendly, and both our room and the entire hotel grounds were kept clean. The food and beverage service team was great. Special thanks to Calvin, Sherily, Malamatenja, and Maria. A few notes about the hotel in its current stage: ● Location The location would be perfect if the water at the nearest beach (just a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel) were not so cold. Apparently, there are cold freshwater springs on the seabed in that bay. There are other options for swimming in the sea, including a complimentary hotel shuttle, but they take more time. Going for a quick swim and then returning to relax by the pool is not really possible. ● Junior Suite Beautiful and spacious. The TV placement is somewhat inconvenient (see photo). There is no power outlet in the bathroom and no mirror in the room. The ventilation and air conditioning are excellent. Be prepared to spend a couple of days figuring out the light switches - there are a lot of them 😊 ● Restaurants The main restaurant is divided into sections, each staffed by very friendly assistant chefs. Everything was neat and well organized. Labels describing the dishes were rare, and during our 10-day stay there was no noticeable improvement in this regard. The other restaurants were not yet open, so for our à la carte dinner we visited the sister hotel, which is located very close to ours on the edge of the village. Beyond it there is no further development, and the restaurant offers stunning views of the bay and the mountains. After dinner, we walked back along the seafront (passing through the hotel to reach the promenade), and it made for a wonderful evening. ● Food The selection was not huge but perfectly sufficient and tasty. We were also very satisfied with the à la carte lunches and dinner. ● Drinks Good quality and a wide selection. I especially enjoyed the many smoothie options. My only criticism concerns the hot latte. In my opinion, it should contain about three times more milk (I always asked for extra). ● Pools They are not very deep, but the water warms up nicely. We were delighted to find a large quiet pool without music. This may change in the future, as the pool bar is expected to open in the next few days. ● Spa Excellent treatments and wonderful staff. The seawater pool used for thalassotherapy could benefit from some renovation, but it was still a pleasant and relaxing experience, and the atmosphere throughout the spa was lovely. Overall, we were very happy with our stay 😊 Thank you to everyone who contributed to making our holiday so enjoyable.
My partner and I stayed at the resort for 10 days. It was a fabulous holiday! Every single staff member was super attentive and really made us feel at home. Julian was lovely and always stopped for a chat, sadly I didn’t get the names of the other staff members but they were always straight at our table taking our order, and learnt our drinks after one day! The hotel itself was beautiful, our room was upgraded on arrival, which was really appreciated and the room was stunning. We had wine and fruit waiting for us after our first night which was delish. I will say, the hotel is still under construction, however we did expect that since it had only just opened, the construction didn’t bother us, we would love to come back next year once the full renovation is finished. The food was brilliant, it’s not a huge buffet, however the quality of the food doesn’t really make up up for it. The lunch is a menu and not a buffet, which we weren’t sure of at first, but the lunch menu is brilliant, real quality food. There are three pools to choose from and not sun-bed wars!! The pools are always super quiet so it is really relaxing. The evening entertainment is good and we enjoyed each type, I would say it is hard to watch it sometimes due to where the seating is, but other than that, no complaints. A special mention to our Garfield, he’s a little grumpy of a cat but he really made our holiday, all the staff take such good care of him and we miss him already (just a warning, don’t give him too much love, you definitely have to earn it). Thank you for such a lovely stay, and we hope to see it again soon!
We got to the hotel and were impressed with the thoughtfulness and kindness of the staff. In fact all the staff there were amazing and couldn't try to help you or do more for you. We went whilst they were doing a staggered opening so all the restauants weren't open. This in itself is not a huge problem as there were a lot of nice Taerna's to eat from. However, the electricity in our room kept going. We asked somebody to check it out several times but it didn't improve. As a result the fan in the room stopped working randomly so we were actually bitten a lot on the face and arms and left quite uncomfortable. The cherry on top though was finding a cockroach in our room. The poor receptionist was mortified but nothing that she could do apart from apologise. I really hope that they sort out these issues before they become a big barrier to the hotel succeeding.
This hotel was amazing and surpassed our expectations. Before arriving at the resort we were pretty worried about the experience we would have due to previous reviews. However, our stay here was amazing. The staff were really polite and were very accommodating. There are a few cons I would like to point out just to make everyone aware. The first thing being the shallow pools. There are multiple pools scattered throughout the resort, all really nice. However they are only around 0.8m deep which was still fun to swim around in but a deeper pool would have been nicer. The deepest pool onsite is inside the spa which is 1.4 meters deep. Also regarding the spa, I never actually used the facilities as it’s 50 euros for 90 min access to the pool, Sauna and steam room and then additional costs for treatments, however it did look really nice if that’s within anyone’s budget. Another small con was we arrived around 11pm and wanted to get some food before going to bed. The hotel did provide us with some wraps with chicken and salad on, however we didn’t like them very much and really wanted a different selection of food. The hotel does not offer room service after 10pm so getting food after that time is difficult. For anyone interested there is a kebab shop around a 7-10 min walk from the hotel that is open till late, if the food options after 10pm affects others like it did us. Other than these small cons the experience really is amazing. Cleanliness is really good and house keeping is great. Food inside the hotel is very nice. Breakfast is buffet style, lunch is ordered from menus which stayed the same and dinner is buffet. There was entertainment on one night after dinner around 9pm but we didn’t see anymore after that. However we did go from 9th- 16th June so they are likely just starting out for the season so the entertainment will probably pick up after this. A pointer for anyone wanting to go into near by towns like Malia, order taxis from the hotel front desk as they will give you their number and you can come back with the same driver for a reasonable price. We went for a night out in malia one night and paid 20 euro for a taxi to get there and then were told by a different driver it’s 35 euro to get back, and then another driver told us 25 euro. To avoid over spending stick with the company the hotel sends. Another thing to point out is that the hotel is currently under renovation and is expected to be finished in 2028 so if you don’t want to be around construction work then I’d probably avoid until it’s done however it’s not in the way, doesn’t make too much noise and really didn’t bother us while we were there. The bar inside the hotel is open until 12pm however after 11pm you have to pay even if your all inclusive, we just ordered extra drinks around 10:30pm to avoid this because it’s silly to me you have to me you have to pay for the last hour of opening time. And the last thing, we booked a room where the maximum people allowed were 3 so naturally we assumed this meant a dbl bed and a single bed. When we arrived we were put into a room with a double bed. When we spoke to reception they said that the maximum 3 people actually meant 2 adults and a cot if requested. No where on the website did it say this. There was 4 of us in total, me and my boyfriend who had a separate room and my brother and sister who was supposed to share a room and have separate beds. To resolve the issue we had with having two double beds and 2 siblings who couldn’t share a bed. My boyfriend shared with my brother and I shared with my sister for 3 nights until a different room became available for sleeping arrangements to be as we booked. This was annoying as it wasn’t properly advertised, it didn’t affect my view on the hotel as the staff did sort it out. But not being able to share with my boyfriend for 3 nights and waiting for the issue to be resolved was annoying. Overall nice experience and would stay there again, just wanted to make everything clear to people who are looking at this hotel as I don’t feel like it was clear enough for us.
We have just got back for a wonderful stay at this hotel. Ignore the previous reviews as the hotel has had an amazing upgrade in all areas. We arrived early and was told our room would be ready to check in straight away and handed a welcome drink, which was great and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We have stopped in hundreds of hotels and this room was one of the nicest. The room itself is huge, with a walk in wardrobe and plenty of storage. We also had a free upgrade to a sea view room, which was a lovely surprise. The hotel itself has a new, calming feel to it and has clearly been upgraded to a very high standard. There are three different pool areas, meaning it didn’t feel too busy and a sun bed was always available. The sun loungers were all brand new and reflected the high standard through out the hotel. We had bed and breakfast and were never disappointed in the amount of choice on a morning. From breads, pastries, fruit, cooked breakfast etc. They have also upgraded the spa and gym area, with one of the best gyms I’ve visited in a hotel, with lots of new equipment and space. There is still some work being done to the bottom end of the hotel but the workers are very polite and it didn’t interfere with our stay. The noise level from the workers/machines was minimal and couldn’t be heard or see from the pool area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hopefully will be back in the future.
I think this will be a stunning hotel in 3–6 months' time, but I'd be cautious about visiting until the renovations are complete. The staff were the standout of our stay. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, particularly the Philippine team, who couldn't do enough for guests. The grounds are attractive and well maintained, although it's clear much of the landscaping is newly finished. The gym and tennis court were easy to access, though the court could use some attention. The biggest issue is that the hotel is still very much under renovation, despite being marketed as "newly renovated." Large areas and rooms remain closed, there is constant construction noise, heavy machinery on site, and workers completing rooms opposite ours each morning. While the workers were polite, it was concerning to see some smoking, drinking and using the pool after working in dusty conditions. Guests should be informed at booking that major renovation work is ongoing. The pool areas themselves were clean and well looked after, with helpful staff and new sun loungers added during our stay. There were also several safety concerns. We found numerous nails and screws left on pathways and near the pool, which I picked up myself. The shower area by the main pool has an almost invisible step made from the same tile, causing multiple guests, including myself, to trip. There were also no visible fire extinguishers near our room (1415) until day four, suggesting safety measures were still incomplete. Our room looked beautiful but clearly hadn't been fully tested. Our key cards repeatedly failed before a technician fixed the issue. On our first evening there was no hot water, and the room phone didn't work, making it difficult to report the problem. After a long wait and an unhelpful response from reception, the issue was eventually resolved. Later, the hairdryer stopped working, and we discovered the sink pipes had leaked, soaking our belongings and forcing us to throw some items away. The electrics were also unreliable, with light switches behaving inconsistently and the power randomly cutting out, including overnight, meaning the air conditioning would stop and we'd wake up hot. Breakfast was always fresh and enjoyable, with attentive staff and a clean dining area. Upon booking, the hotel advertised four restaurants, with a small note that availability depended on occupancy. However, when we arrived, only the buffet was open for every meal, which was disappointing. We were told this was due to "low occupancy," but it seemed more likely because half the hotel was closed for renovations. We were later told we could dine at the sister hotel a short drive away, but after the staff's reaction when we asked, it didn't feel like a worthwhile option. Overall, this hotel has huge potential and a fantastic team, but I believe rooms have been opened prematurely and before renovations and safety checks were fully completed. We didn't report every issue during our stay because it became exhausting to spend our limited holiday waiting for maintenance. However, I raised everything at checkout in the hope these issues are resolved for future guests.
This 'resort' is not as advertised nor is it in the right price bracket or star rating. What irritated me is that there was so much that was avoidable and I got the sense that it could have been so much better. The positives - the pools were clean and refreshing but I didn't see any accessible ways to get in and out for people with mobility issues. The location is good, Sissi is a lovely little seaside village with an interesting new church and some great views. At this point I would normally say "staff were polite and helpful" and the truth is that the majority were - but many were young and inexperienced, we witnessed arguments between them and were shocked when a receptionist told us that they didn't have security - a manager came out and told us that the staff member was new and didn't know but that they did have security. This was after expressing concern about worrying levels of hostile voices from the room next to us - the walls are thin. The negatives are so many that there is not enough space to mention them all. - The food was not great and was lower end food stuffs. The a la carte restaurants are to be avoided, they are worse than the buffet. others complained, some walked out. The room was very poor. We had a suite which meant that it had a separate dayroom with couches. Except they weren't, they were two single beds and when we said that we thought we would have a sitting area there they just offered to put more pillows on it! All the furnishings were old and worn and our double bed was made up using two single sheets laid across the bed so you went between them when you got in. The room had a safe, you get the key from reception and the fob has the room number on it - so if you left the key anywhere the person who found it would know which room to go to. The toilet seat was stained with red marks and the toilet brush was dirty - I could go on and on. The lifts broke down on us 3 times leaving us stuck between floors in complete darkness, on one occasion the doors opened between floors and another time it stopped a foot before the floor. When I asked about the lifts I was told "yes, this happens when we have had a power cut" - we had a few power cuts, which also resets the air con. We went all inclusive but ended up eating out and getting supplies from shops. The drinks were a mixed bag and limited. The all inclusive whisky was Ballantine's which I was OK with under the circumstances but the Vodka seemed to change. HOWEVER, the soft drinks were very bad - no diet options and the cola was some of the cheapest own brand rubbish I have ever had - spoiling anything it went into. Something I never got my head around was the glass or plastic policy. If you ordered a drink from the pool bar to have there (you can eat around the bar) it would be in a glass. If you wanted to take it to the other pool or your room it was in plastic. The result was that you had plastic in the safety of your room but glass around the top pool.
I was really looking forward to this holiday because of the good reviews but the hotel did not live up to expectations, it was tired looking and because it was near end of season I think we didn't get the best. Example we booked the Greek restaurant for 8 of us when we got there they pointed out what they had left on the menu which wasn't much so we left and went to the main restaurant, the entertainment was none apart from Greek dances one night that were very good. They are setting up for a end of season staff party right now pulling out all the stops, the probably do deserve it because the staff were great but it's a shame that they couldn't do it for paying guests just once a week and buy the way we are watching this being done feeling left out lol.
First time in Crete, family holiday. Easy and quite check in arrived late at night, check in was quick and straight forward. Given a snack due to late arrival, cheese and ham sandwich, apple and bottle of water in the room. Room was decent size, good view of the pool and sea, bed comfy, maid daily but not sure what issue was never left us clean towel for pool had to ask. Breakfast usual there bacon, eggs, omelette freshly cooked, beans, toast, meats etc. lunch was beef, pasta, pork, veg chips rice and pretty much the same for evening, even if fussy would not go without. Snack bar hot dogs, burgers chip and fish sticks, bar so there four bar that AI, the bar by the beach I have to pay for you drinks and only open wed/sun. Drinks are good named brands and good size measures. No limit on what u can get. Bar shuts at 11 pm then the lobby bar stay open but u pay for them from after 11 pm. Staff are friendly and polite. Except restaurant lady she never smiles and looks u up and down. Entertainment aqua aerobics in morning and then not much else, could be due to getting near end of season ?. Evening entertainment limited if honest. Over all good holiday. Weather was amazing while we were there. Ok carremart next to the hotel totally out disgusting behaviour and attitude and seems not the first to experience this, followed round the shop and then accuse of stealing. Pretty bad considering we spent enough money in there first few days, not no more, go to spamip.road bigger better and nicer staff. Complained to head office and guess what mo response no surprise there. Try the sports bar just past the Irish pub staff amazing friendly and good entertainment. Food Def go to Amelia's staff food are amazing and made to feel very welcome. Would I go back maybe to Crete but not here, trying new places but Def nice relaxing holiday with fsmily
This hotel is advertised as a 5* hotel and when I challenged the hotel about this (and the cockroaches), they said they offered ‘basic’ accommodation. That is definitely true of my experience. The room I stayed in, was simply bleak- with a very noisy fridge and decor from the 80’s. The bed, the bed linen, and towels are of such a worn out quality that it’s clear there has not been any investment in this place for a very long time. When I came out of the shower and saw several large cockroaches it was enough to make me pack up my bags and leave- there was simply no way I could spend another night there. Whilst the manager of the hotel explained that cockroaches are inevitable in Crete- I just didn’t buy that explanation as the hotel is so run down I just wasn’t surprised to see them. I’ve stayed in enough hotels to know that cockroaches tend to be in the lower end places…and I have to say this hotel is exactly that. I’m so glad I left when I did as walked around the corner to a beautiful family run hotel which is absolutely delightful. It’s saved my few days here.
We had a nice stay at this hotel. The room was very comfortable, although aircon was a bit weak. Bed was very comfortable. Had a huge balcony which was great. The food was good, but a bit low on choice compared to other all-inclusives. One annoying thing was that the restaurant closed very early at 9pm sharp and by 9.01pm everything had been taken away. Pool area was great with loads of sun loungers and different areas to choose from. Nice and quiet without music thumping out which we really appreciated. Staff were very much a mixed bag. Around 60-70 percent of them were from the Phillipines and they were largely delightful. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the European staff. Most of them were very surly, including the female restaurant manager. She never even said hello or even acknowledged us, despite me repeatedly smiling and giving her the opportunity. I understand that working in hospitality is tough (I have done it myself) but it really dampens the atmosphere if the staff can’t even make the effort to show some warmth towards the guests. The cleaner, however, was delightful (room 1219) and we gave her a generous tip at the end. As was night recepionist when we checked in. The town of Sissi is very pretty but there is nothing to do. Getting a taxi even to the neighboring town of Malia is expensive and tiresome. Going to Heraklion and back cost €150. There is just one bus a day, leaving at 9:15am. With all this in mind,I would recommend this place to people who are just looking to unwind and enjoy the sun in an all-inclusive resort.
Vasia Resort & Spa – Sissi, Crete (April Stay) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) We spent 7 days at Vasia Resort & Spa in Sissi, Crete in April. As it was still a bit out of season, we had mixed weather—around 4 good sunny days, which wasn’t too bad for the time of year. 🌟 Hotel & Rooms The hotel room was lovely. We had a large, comfy bed in our bedroom and a separate area for the children with two single beds. There was also a fridge in the room and a balcony with a fantastic view of both the pool and the sea. 🎾 Facilities Tennis Court: We played tennis a few times; it’s free for guests—you just need to book an hour slot in advance. Gym: We used the gym a few times. It was adequate for our needs. Indoor Pool: Available, but we didn’t use it. 🍹 Food & Drink Main Restaurant: The food was generally very good with lots of choice. Each night featured a different meat dish as a special. A La Carte: We dined at the Italian restaurant on-site, which was also enjoyable. Snack Bar: Located near the children’s pool—served hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, and ice cream. Cocktails: A bit disappointing. All served in the same glasses and started to taste quite similar after a few. 🏊 Pools & Slides Slides: A big hit with the kids. There was also a smaller pool with mini slides for little ones. Pool Temperature: Unfortunately, the pool was very cold in April. The kids didn’t last long before their lips turned blue and they were shivering. Likely better later in the season. 🧒 Kids Club The kids club seemed fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, always engaging with the children—even at mealtimes, which was a lovely touch. Our children were always excited to share what they’d made or done. 🏖️ Resort & Location The location was peaceful and quiet—perfect if you're after a relaxing break. That said, it felt very quiet in April, and many things hadn't opened yet. There’s a small bay a short walk from the hotel which we enjoyed visiting. The train ride around the resort and a nearby beach (about a mile away) were both closed during our stay. The sea view bar on the hotel grounds was also closed, which was a shame. A large convenience shop is located right next door to the hotel for basics. 📝 Summary Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed the hotel, room, and facilities. However, being there in April meant we missed out on some of the resort’s full offerings. We imagine it would feel quite different—and more lively—between May and August. Still, for a relaxing early-season break, it ticked most of the boxes. Let me know if you’d like a shorter version for a quick review, or if you want to tailor this for a specific platform! Colazione ottima.
We stayed at this Hotel end of September and can honestly say it was amazing. The rooms were cleaned every day, and fresh water left in the fridge. The whole complex was kept so tidy. The staff from the bar, restraunt in fact everyone couldn't be any more helpful. Would definitely recommend
Definitely not 5 star. Variable standards of accommodation. Got our 2 bed suite changed after being put in a suite with a dangerous spiral staircase which was moving a foot in either direction at the top of the stairs, should never have been given to guests this room. One push against the railing and the whole thing could have come down. We got put in a much better 2 bedroom suite thankfully which we appreciated but shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Pools were nice very average snacks at one pool. Plenty of sun loungers. Okay food. The Italian restaurant okay very limited and average food. Food in general okay not 5 star 3 star at best. What was exceptionally poor though was the cheapskate drinks. The soft drinks were awful. Water out the mixers tasted soapy. The white wine cheap and super dry. No Prosecco without paying which was a joke. Cocktails rubbish as using cheap vodkas etc. top tip make sure you ask for absolut vodka in cocktails as you will get it. Hotel needs to get a grip with the drinks especially the cheap supposed Diet Coke which tasted so sweet. On a plus as we had so much hassle the first few days we did get a free late check out which was appreciated. Would I go back, a definite NO! I’d go self catering and eat out at the many lovely restaurants in Sissi. Sissi is lovely!
I had a full body massage and also with aloe vera gel for body and face. My masseur called Nicos and he was great, very talented and very relaxing! I can only recommend it.
The staff was so kind and welcoming. The hotel so clean but 2 times we were looking for someone in the reception and no one was there.
We had a week at the Vasia Resort and Spa in September - overall we had a very nice time and good value for money (for the price we paid). Please do set realistic expectations as this is nowhere near a 5 star resort. The resort is quite spread out - think we were lucky to have a room in the block above reception with a pool, garden and sea view. The room was good and we were promptly provided with more pillows when we asked. The maid kept the room very clean so no issues there at all. Room had a fridge and water replenished daily. Aircon was good. Bed comfortable. Bathroom had a shower cubicle and a separate bath so that was all good. We had no issues with the food and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety - you could eat very healthily if you wanted. All staff that we encountered were excellent. Drinks were a bit of an issue as the quality we thought was quite poor. The beer was something called Thea, which even the locals hadn't heard of. The cocktails were very limited so we ended up just having their Beefeater gin and tonics which was ok. We liked being at a resort that was close to a village (Sisi) - there's a supermarket at the entrance to hotel where you can stock up on everything if needed. Plenty of bars and restaurants - we had drinks out 3 nights and all the bars seemed good (Cactus, The Rolling Stone, Stefanos, etc - where you can get your fix of Mythos beer). Nice bakery in Sisi as well. Obligatory Irish pub 3 minutes from the hotel (if you like that type of thing). Couple of bars showing Prem football. Pool area was good and no problem with sunbeds - I can imagine shade is an issue during the warmer months. Didn't partake in any hotel "activities" There is no beach here - all rocks - this is not the part of the island for sandy beaches - but you can walk along the seafront on a track. We had a nose around the Vasia Sea Retreat - adults only - along the coast - a 5 minute walk away and it did look like a "proper" 5 star resort - new, chic, well designed. We hired a car for 2 days from Mervis - by the hotel entrance - 2 days in a little Fiat Panda for c. £100 all in. Easy driving - drove to Agios Nikolaos and had a walk around (fantastic place for a walk, lunch and views), then to Elounda, Spinalonga and Plaka and back. Didn't venture to the Lasithi Plateau as not sure a 1 litre, manual, Fiat would handle the mountain roads that well.... Overall, we would recommend this hotel, just set your expectations accordingly.
Unfortunately, this hotel made a terrible impression. On the first night at dinner, one of the chefs was yelling at the staff and thrasing around in the kitchen like a madman. The chef obvously has anger management issues and needs help before he does anything bad. He displayed visibly abusive behavior that frightened those in the restaurant. He abused his position and power and simply doesn't know that this is not acceptable behavior, let alone in a five-star hotel or in any workplace. They try to isolate these people as much as possible in normal, civilized countries. Sadly, on the other days we also heard shouting noises from the kitchen to the detriment of a pleasant meal. We definitely do not reccomend this hotel, it was scary.
Dobre i ciekawe jedzenie. Pokój duży. Darmowa butelkowana woda.
Doja gości HB. Niezbyt porywające wieczorne występy.
Just come back from this hotel, we stayed in room 603 overlooking the pool, room was lovely but let down by the cleaners, we stayed for 12 nights and during that time our balcony was never swept or mopped and I had to clean the table myself, the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned either, beds were made and clean towels provided but as for cleanliness this was poor. We did have an issue in our room which was reported and fixed the same day by the maintenance team. Having read previous reviews regarding the food, I can honestly say everything we had was excellent the only downside it wasn't hot enough but the choices were amazing. Plenty of sunbeds so you don't need to get up at silly o clock to reserve a bed, even though there are always some that feel they have to do this. Entertainment programme is awful if your looking at going here and expecting a full Entertainment programme daytime and evening this isn't the place. Now to the truth regarding all inclusive, we met several couples who where half board and were able to get all their drinks and snacks and lunch at the hotel basically for free as no wrist bands are issued, I did make a complaint to the manager who basically brushed this off but didn't charge me for late checkout as a gesture of goodwill but when you arecpaying all inclusive prices this is not fair, the drinks are not great and are very weak. A big shout out to maneous the mature waiter outside he is a credit to the hotel and one amazing guy. I was informed by the manager the hotel is closing and being bought by another chain so next year no all inclusive will be available. Despite the issues I have mentioned the resort is beautifuland we would definitely return all in all we had a lovely holiday .
Had a great time wonderful @vasiaresortandspa I have Visited Crete before, the whole experience was stunning , but this time our cleaner ~Vjollca was the best ever, so efficient and engaging , always happy to take the time to give us information on some of stunning beaches and wonderful culture to be found on the Island 5🤩
Vasia hotel on arrival looked a bit dated. Nice spacious room with winding staircase. Food good salads, grill and fruit plenty. Must be picky if you can't find anything here. Swimming pools clean . Bar staff very pleasant. Drinks premium brands on all drinks. Entertainment only saw a few things ok. Loads of different people here not just english snd no sunbed wars. On doorstep of sissi went out few times. Amelias is a great greek night . Happy
A nice resort with free shuttle. Please be aware the rooms are somewhat different to the photos. We had 2 beds, a TV Coffee table in one and a double bed in the other. We understood this was an upgrade
Just arrived back from a 10 day holiday at the Vasia hotel and I wanted to share some true full reviews, we arrived at the hotel around lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised as we were greeted with a smile and offered lunch before it closed and we could finish checking in after which was nice as children were hungry, we paid the Greek tax and got the free safe key and headed by golf trolley up to our room which we were shocked by as was massive for our family of 4😀 We went down to the children’s pool with slides which was a great hit with our children and the pool bar was acceptable for drinks and snacks and yes the beer was watered down but who wants drunk adults at the pool! At tea time we went to the restaurant which was lovely but if I could moan about anything it would be that there is actually too much choice with the food that by the time you have walked around to see what there is your food is cold when you sit, children’s meals were the same each time but was ok The staff unfortunately didn’t make my holiday pleasant as I think they are trained to not smile and to take the plates away as quickly as possible which did feel rude to us Even when we passed them something like a cup etc it was snatched which did ruin this for us as was expecting a friendly hotel as I’ve been to 3 star hotels that are much more happy and helpful, Hotel does provide pack lunches for days out which is good and free pool towels and water in rooms refilled every day Pool and seating area by pool gets cleaned every day so overall a nice hotel just needs something done to make people feel that they want us there and we are sad to leave but on this occasion I have to say 10 days were enough for us which was a shame as Sissi us such a lovely place and please use the area shops etc as they are so helpful and welcoming x
We had a brilliant stay at Vasia Spa in Crete and would definitely recommend it for families. The pools were amazing – especially the kids’ slides – our children barely left the water! The kids club was a big hit too, giving them plenty to do and a chance to make new friends. Food was good with three meals a day, though the selection was a little small at times. Breakfast really stood out – absolutely excellent. We also enjoyed the Italian restaurant (included once on a 10-day stay) which was delicious and felt like a treat. Rooms were very clean. Beds were okay – the singles a bit hard, the double a bit soft – but nothing that spoiled our stay. Drinks were great, with a nice selection of all-inclusive options, and I have to mention the Thea beer which was really enjoyable. The only letdown was the evening entertainment. The kids’ disco was just a speaker, though our 2-year-old loved it, and our 7-year-old still had fun, even getting up to do karaoke one night which was a proud moment. Overall, a lovely holiday with plenty for the kids, great pools, and good food. I’d rate it 4.8/5
Good location in Sisi, good quality rooms, food very good, drinks ok. Overall very good. Manager resolved issue with screaming young children in next room by allowing us to move to a different room which was much better.
On our first morning we were woken up at 6am by a family in the next room screaming and shouting and kids generally running riot for over an hour. Reported to reception and she referred to manager and we were able to moved rooms.
Staff e posizione
Cibo e pulizia
La posizione e lo staff molto cordiale
La pulizia delle piscine e il cibo erano pessimi.
We arrived late around 23:30 local time, we were greeted with an ice tea and some food which was very welcome. We were escorted to our room by golf cart (which the kids loved), the next morning we explored the hotel and got settled in. The food was of a good standard, Breakfast included everything you would expect, fresh juices, pancakes, freshly cooked omelette/eggs, fresh pastries and barista coffee inside the restaurant ! (Someone mentioned they couldn’t get fresh coffee and only had milk in plastic pots which was in the sun all day!) I think they are talking about the coffee which is provided in the rooms, where obviously they can’t provide fresh milk! Lunch was a good selection of buffet style food in the restaurant and I would say better than average, if you don’t want to put a t shirt on and walk for two minutes to eat in the restaurant you can get a burger /chips/hotdog or sandwich at the snack bar these are cooked when they open but are not cooked to order. (If the staff had to cook each burger at the snack bar fresh to order the queue would be a mile long! And people would complain about waiting to long!) Also the ice cream at the snack bar was very nice and the kids loved it! Dinner was of a good standard with many options lots of fish and meats, lots of options for vegetarians etc also. Deserts were very nice and had lots of options to choose from. The staff were all very friendly and hard working, the drinks were the average all inclusive type thing but fine no issues. The rooms were clean, spacious but furniture was a bit dated and could probably do with updating, I would say there wasn’t quite enough clothes storage for the four of us but we do bring a lot of clothes so perhaps that’s just us? The swimming pools were clean and water slides were loads of fun, the best thing YOU DONT HAVE TO FIGHT FOR A SUNBED! There are enough for everyone we never had a problem getting beds! The grounds are extremely well maintained, it all looks very tidy and pretty! Entertainment was average at best. Our room was cleaned to a very high standard, with coffee tea water bottles replaced everyday.
It’s good for families but I don’t recommend it for 2 people without kids.
Lovely hotel and facilities. Great advice from staff regarding where to go ie beaches, food great everyday!
We had a nice holiday but Tui rates this hotel as a 5 star. Jet 2 a 4.5 star and it is a 3 star. Rooms are of 3 star standard. Very old and run down. Balcony was small with a view of another building. Basic amenities. No hair conditioner etc had to bring own not what you expect in a 5 star hotel. It’s ok people saying in reviews expect a 4 star when you turn up but why should you when there are 5 stars outside the hotel lol. If it says it’s a 5 star you should be getting 5 * amenities. Food at the snack bar is served cold. They cook the burgers and chips and put them in bags at the back and just hand them Too you when your order. So nothing is cooked fresh at the snack bar. No fresh milk for coffees or tea etc they give you the little sealed pots that are left on the side on the heat all day. We brought our own fresh milk from the shop and made our own warm drinks but again not ideal. Cocktails are limited to 5 standard and not very nice cocktails. Sex on the beach type ones etc. I brought my own cans of cocktails from the shop and put them in fridge. Beer was really nice so that was a plus point! Staff were nice. Slide pool was great and kids loved it, but no life guards at the pool areas really. Sissi harbour is beautiful, nice sunsets and good food and settings! Buffet was standard. We ate out every night. Lunch and breakfast was fine, nothing amazing but fine. Kids had a great time and made some lovely friends. But like the other reviews have said. May as well book and pay for a 3 star as that’s what it is. We did have a nice time but don’t book if you want luxury or amazing food and drinks.
Sehr schöne Anlage, gutes, abwechslungsreiches Essen (besonderer shoutout an den französischen Grillmeister!!). Überdurchschnittliches Gym für ein Hotel. Gerne wieder.

The hotel was a great place for our family vacation. We spent 8 days, and at first we planned for a half-board plan but after two meals and the pool bar service that exceeded expectations, we decided to upgrade to an all-inclusive plan. The food in the main restaurant was great, lots of options in every meal! The pools were very child friendly, with one small water slide and 4 medium water slides that were a great attraction for our kids (ages 4, 6 and 9). There were a few activities during the day and evening attractions that were also nice for the kids and ourselves, like the evening fire show and the kids dance in the club. The hotel is also 40 min from Heraklion, the aquarium and a big Waterpark, which we also visited. There's a market, car rental, beach and restaurants nearby.
The lighting in the room was really an issue. We could barely see what was in our suitcases. Apart from the water slides there aren't any other attractions to do with the kids in the hotel. The playground is really small, and the kids club is a complimentary service with their own staff. Our children don't speak English and were embarrassed to stay there without us, so we couldn't really use the space with them.
I love this place being here four times never had any problems til I was last their it’s like heaven their so beautiful but my last experience was my worst some lowlife stole my prescription sunglasses i immediately informed the the staff then spoke to and manager but their was no help saying it was my fault erm no…….. their were in a bag with stuff around it I’ll never be coming here again thank you for the memories vasia resort & spa
Lovely hotel. Really clean and tidy. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming special mention to esmirand who worked in the cotton club really nice and chatty. The food was really good lots of choices. Cons are not enough room around the sunbeds and definitely need more parasols especially so children have some shade. The entertainment what was on wasn't very good. Really enjoyed our holiday but we prefer a sandy beach nearby so we will be going back to stalis next year where we usually stay.
We liked that you could walk into Sissi and swim in the harbour. Great position on Crete to drive to water parks, aquarium and Agios Nikolaus etc. The room was spacious. Nice swimming pools and the food and drinks were great. Staff were friendly. We liked the pet hotel.
No beach in front of property and we had a carpark view. Air conditioning kept turning off if you didn't constantly move an arm so hot at night. It was expensive in high season.
Second time visiting vasia , brought my family with me this time. Hotel room for myself was amazing. The hotel requires better quality entertainment in the day nothing going on for the children other than the water slides. At night the entertainment very basic, could do with just a bit more to do to make it a better experience. Staff amazing as always very kind and happy to help
Amazing experience. First time to Crete and our best European stay. Service by Adela at front desk was impeccable. Food was of a very good standard for all inclusive. We upgraded our room to have the two bedrooms and our own private pool. Reassuring that the private pool was maintained regularly by staff and was a safe depth for our four and seven year old. Sissi is a beautiful part of the island and swimming in the sea nearby was a highlight.
Would give 4.5 out 5. Definitely not a 5 star hotel as official rated but a decent 4 star for sure. Great views pretty much everywhere from hotel. Good food. Maybe not enough Greek food for my liking but plenty of choice. And the Italian restaurant was nice treat (get 1 booking per week of staying) Pools were busy and definitely for families this hotel not couples. Short walk into Sisi harbour which was stunning. The entertainment was ok nothing special . Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Rooms were simple but very clean and spacious. Beds very comfortable. No mad dash to reserve sun beds which was pleasant surprise. Lots of French and German families and few English ones too so nice mix.
High overall standard throughout the hotel – cleaning, service, staff, restaurant, room, and pool areas. The whole family agrees that the quality of the food is top-notch. Always several different hot dishes. Greek salads and fresh vegetables. Various oils, tapenades, olives, etc. Sweet, freshly cut fruits. Breakfast includes freshly squeezed juice, a coffee station with espresso made to your preference – yes, please! Omelet station with a variety of vegetables and cheese of your choice. The drink selection at the pool bar is a bit limited and uninspired, but you can buy additional drinks. The snack bar is fine – it covers your cravings for salty and sweet, but not more than that. We visited the hotel in week 29. No issues finding space by the pool for 4 people, same for the dining areas. Apart from aqua gym sessions, there’s no music at the pool – only at the bar 👍🏻 We didn’t use the areas for small children. At arrival, pool towels were already in the room, and we received fresh ones with the regular cleaning – very nice! Ask for the key to the safe at check-in – it’s included at no extra cost. Waiter Manolis is simply lovely and warm. The Filipino waitstaff team is friendly and fun – Mark at the bar is 👌🏻 Thanks for a great holiday!
Firstly reset your expectations for a 5 Star resort which it is not however what you will find is a great value 4 star resort. We have enjoyed every meal including 2 meals at the Greek Specialty restaurant where the food and setting were fantastic. The staff throughout the resort are just wonderful and our special thanks go to Manolis at the outside eating area he is just a great welcoming person and the hotel should be very proud of what he brings to the business. So in our opinion forget all the negative reports on this hotel we are sure you would enjoy you holiday here.
We have not long returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at Vasia. We were so pleasantly surprised and happy 😊. Room We stayed in a family room with sliding doors. Room 15. It was perfect. A few steps from an ocean view. Comfortable beds for all. We also had 2 x air con machines, fridge, and large wardrobe. Water bottles each day. There are lots of clean towels and a lovely cleaner. Balcony for drying things. The room was perfect. Food We absolutely loved the food. It was fantastic, absolutely lots of choice. We never had a bad meal or got bored. The flavours are great, lovely salad, breakfast was fabulous too. Our kids ate lots and enjoyed the food too. As staying for 2 weeks we ate in the Greek and the Italian both lovely meals. The snack bar at the kids' pool was well used also. We loved the drink choice and also the service in the restaurants. Staff are always smiling and helpful. You wait only a few minutes for drinks. We absolutely loved the food and drinks. Staff Everyone we spoke to from reception staff, bar staff, cleaners, and chefs all so lovely. So happy and polite we have officially fell in love with Greece as a result. Pools Were fabulous the kids had a blast. It's really big and perfect. There are a few small things to improve but not really bothered to mention. The slides for all the kids were fantastic, too. Loved it. Kids Club We used the kids club a few times for the under 3 club 3 x times, and the staff were so lovely happy and smiling. The kids had lots of fun making art, making lemonade, they had a ball and they made lots of new friends. Entertainment We saw some of the shows which were on in the theatre which were ok. I wouldnt have super high expectations of the entertainment and you won't be disappointed. The mini disco is 25mins of songs for the kids again if you expect less it's adequate. The saxophone 🎷 was good as was the kareoke night. The hotel really was fabulous. We didnt want to leave after 2 weeks, and we would return again one day as it just ticked all the boxes for us, and we had such a great stay. We also booked via Easyjet holidays, and it was perfect 👌. We are usually very fussy and really criticised but we can't really. Vasis was just beautiful 😍 thanks for an amazing 2 weeks!
We stayed for 2 weeks - last week of June and first week of July. The first week was fine in terms of how busy the resort was, but there was a very noticeable increase in visitors from about the 1st July which we presume was due to European schools breaking up earlier than UK schools do - something to be aware of. It meant getting tables at dinner and loungers by the pool became tricky in the second week! Pools 6 outdoor Main one has 3 slides and ever present volleyball net with separate kids pool with kids slides next to it. Snack bar next to it serving different things depending on time of day eg. Biscuits, cakes, sandwiches, ice creams, burgers, hot dogs, chips with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks - roughly 10am to 5pm. This pool gets busy. Other pools less so, but no snack bar just a bar serving drinks next to one. Not a lot of shade by any pool and the umbrellas are not moveable and don’t do a lot! Rooms We stayed in a 2 room suite near the main pool. Air con worked well in the main bedroom area, but there is no air con in the lounge/other bedroom area where our daughter slept, meaning we had to keep the door open in between. Could do with more storage as there is only 1 wardrobe for us to share between 3 people and the only drawers in the desk unit. Bathroom had a bath with shower over then a separate shower cubicle which was a minefield to operate. Too many knobs and the water was either boiling or too cold. Very difficult to get a medium temperature even after we got maintenance to look at it. Shower over bath was fine and had good water pressure, but wasn’t easy to angle the shower head. In the wardrobe there is a safe to use but you need to get a key from reception - free. Kids club Ages 4 and up is free. Bookable slots AM and PM. Carers very nice. Crèche for under 3s available at €25 euros per session. Dining areas Breakfast - buffet service. Collect your own juice and coffee. Lots of choice from fruit, salad, cheese and ham, cereal, cooked breakfast, omelettes, pancakes, boiled eggs etc. Can sit outside if you want. Lunch - buffet service. Plenty of choice, very nice. Drinks served to table. Dinner - Outdoor seating by one of the pools is nice. Not too hot even though dinner starts at 6.30pm and the sun is out until approx 8.30pm. Plenty of shade. Waiters serve you drinks at your table and are very nice and attentive. Buffet service, plenty of options with a kids food area (although plenty of adults using it too!). Plenty of desserts to choose from as well. Being Greece, you’d think a national dish like Moussaka would be on the menu more - we only saw it once per week. If you sit inside, the air con doesn’t work very well so it can get warm if weather is humid and/or dining area is busy. Not what you want. We asked if it could be made cooler but apparently not. Interestingly, their website states no shorts in the dining hall, don’t worry about that as everyone wore shorts! And how could you not when the air con doesn’t work very well! Overall, good dining options, constantly kept fresh and full and so no waiting around for any food. As we stayed for 2 weeks, we were allowed to go into either of the 2 A La Carte restaurants for free - once per week. The first week we tried the Greek restaurant. Was ok and nice, but not very Greek. Sat outside on the coastline (5 min walk from main resort) watching the sea and sunset. You pay for wine. Nothing to write home about. Glad we didn’t have to pay. Second week we tried the Italian which was, quite Italian! This was much better than the Greek restaurant and had traditional Italian dishes on the menu. You also sit outside on the roof which was lovely. Nice views and the sunset. Would recommend. Outdoor The resort is large, so plenty to walk around and would have been handy to have been provided a resort map on check in. Kids park by reception, however we didn’t actually find this until our second week as it’s tucked away. Can walk down to the coast line in about 5 mins (not beach) for lovely sunsets. Local shops are on the doorstep and the village of Sissi is just a 10 min stroll away. The village is very pretty. Lots of shops, tavernas, small port where you can swim in the sea from the port. Next to the resort is a large supermarket and Mevis hire cars if you need one. We found this the easiest and cheapest to rent from. We rented an Audi Q2 twice for a few days each. No hassle. We wouldn’t call this a 5 star hotel. More like 4 star. We didn’t use the spa. Might come back, but not in a rush.
I stayed one week at Vasia Resort. Yes, maybe it is not a typical and luxury 5* hotel, more likely 4*. But there si nothing to complain about. From the first moment at reception till the end of my stay everything was absolutely perfect. Staff is nice, polite and always smiling. Room is large, clean. Bathroom with shower and bathtub. Balcony with table and chairs. A/C worked perfectly. Room service everyday. New bottle of water also every day. Food was delicious. Lots of options every day, everything was fresh and very tasty. Loved desserts and fresh orange juice for breakfast. It is possible to eat in a la carte restaurant once for stay (greek or italian). La Trattoria is italian restaurant on roof of the hotel with amazing view to the sea and sunset. Hotel has several pools. Kids pool with waterslides by snack bar, two pools by bar or small pool with seaview. No problem found free sunbeds through the day. Hotel provides transfer to the Potamos beach (didn't use). I was going to the Boufos beach, 15 minute by walk. Hotel has perfect location. Nice walk to the harbour and Sissi. Sissi is beautiful village. You found here everything you need - supermarkets, souvenir shops, tavernas and bars. You can also walk alongside coast and watch breathtaking sunsets. Special thanks to my cleaning lady (room 1501, unfortunately don't know her name). She was very nice. And Julian. He always stopped by and talked to me. I really enjoyed my vacation at this hotel. Would recommend.
Stayed in the hotel with my partner beginning of June. Hotel is quite dated and not 5 star. But we did have a nice time. Loved the area near the harbour. Food and drink ok but we ate out most nights. Didn’t like the fact you are so cramped around the pool area.
My partner and I stayed at the Vasia in early June 2025 and had an amazing time. We couldn’t fault the hotel on anything! The food was great and the staff were very friendly. In particular the blonde lady who worked on the reception bar in the evenings (so sorry I never got her name) was exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel had severals bars and pools so there was plenty to do. There was a pool with waterslides so I imagine it would be a good hotel for families too. The spa treatments were great. The food in the Greek a la carte restaurant was absolutely delicious and we got to watch the sunset as we ate our meal as the restaurant was located right by the beach. Our favourite feature of the hotel by far was the location. The area was very relaxing and peaceful, but still with plenty of shops, ice cream parlours and tavernas around. Probably wouldn’t be the best place for anyone looking for nightlife, but we wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and go for walks. We spent a lot of time reading on a nearby small rocky beach that we often had completely to ourselves. And one day we walked 20 minutes to a sandy beach where we paid 10 euros to hire two sun loungers and an umbrella. Overall we had an amazing time and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday right by the sea!
I recently stayed at this amazing hotel Vasia Resort & Spa and I had absolutely unforgettable experience staying there. When we arrived, the girls administrators, especially one named Angelica, greeted us with warm smiles and a lot of hospitality. We arrived before the official check in time, but we were in invited to use all the hotel facilities while we were waiting a room. By 12 o’clock, we wear ready to use our gorgeous room which truly exceeded all our expectations. Our room was stunning two level apartments with three separate room, two bathrooms and absolutely unforgettable sea-view from our terrace. The resort has several clean and very big pools, there were also some water slides which was a great benefit not only for children but also for grown-ups. What was the most surprising that there were plenty of sun-beds and umbrellas, which usually is a great problem in other resorts. But here you would definitely find a place for yourself. as the hotel is on the first line of sea Coast you could have an option or watch the outstanding view of sunset at the sea and have a stunning walk alongside the coast, or you could swim on a not big but appropriate for swimming part of them coast. But it is full of stones so the hotel gives regular shuttle service to a beautiful sandy beach just a few from the hotel. The water there is crystal clear and the sand is golden and soft. There is a bar and you can enjoy cocktails or have lunch there. Coming back to the hotel, I would like to underline the food there. It is truly fresh and tasty and has a great variety of different dishes. As a fan of seafood, I could find for myself a lot of different fish cooked in a different ways. Those ones who likes meat, you will get steaks steaks or baked chicken. I’m not a great fan of desserts but I really tried some there. And I liked them. Also, truly advised to visit à la carte restaurant. But I want to write thanks to all the staff which was always kind, helpful and very professional. I felt myself like home and found new friends there. I want to thank Liz for great Aqua aerobics every day, I want to thank Anna for yoga and Pilates classes, and of course Esmirand for being great Barman, DJ, smm for those stunning photos and good mood. In summary, I want to underline that this resort is a fantastic choice for having a great exciting and relaxed holiday. And I really want to come back here again.
Spent 10 days from the 15th to the 25th of June here and honestly had a good holiday with my partner and our little boy who is 16 months old, location of hotel is so picturesque, the harbour is only a short walk and a nice walk, I recommend the queens lounge for both food and drink as it’s an amazing viewing spot and the frozen strawberry daiquiri’s and bbq ribs where 10/10. Food at the main restaurant in the hotel was ‘good’ a fair amount of choice, a lot of tasty items, however was very pork heavy on the meat front and NOT 5* in mine, my partner and friends we met at the hotels opinion. Although not bad. The snack bar again was good, the same options of burgers, hotdogs, chips and fish fingers available throughout the day, and then some sandwiches and biscuits available around 3:30pm. We ate at the hotels Italian ala cart one night as you get to try one of the hotels ala carts when staying for 7-10 days. This was very nice, very tasty, presented well accompanied by a lovely roof top view of the hotel and sunset. Waiting staff, reception staff, bar staff and cleaners were all AMAZING, always so friendly and hard working, we often talked about do they ever have a break! Julian being one member of staff who always made the effort with ourselves, and specially our little boy. Julian was always happy to help, chat and made a positive difference to our stay, thank you! Unfortunately the kids club staff not so much. We went to view the crèche and was met with not a very friendly nor welcoming vibe, the place was EMPTY and they seemed to want to keep it that way. We spoke to a gentlemen at a desk and a girl named Stella, who again didn’t act as if she wanted to even be there herself never mind have our child there. After obviously deciding to not use this facility I was glad as although introducing ourselves to Stella, whenever we passed her around the hotel we would smile and she would look the other way. There was another young girl who’s name I did not get, blonde who really upset me when my little boy excitedly shouted hello to her a number of times whilst walking past the kids club and she pretended she could not hear him. Mini disco was something I really looked forward to as our little boy loves to dance, unfortunately this was only on 4 times in the 10 nights we where there and again the girls ‘leading’ this was not very friendly or forward in asking kids to join, the same 2 girls not even smiling or interacting with the children. Was always the same 3 dance ‘the hat game’ and then one more dance to finish. Disappointing as this hotel offers a lot for family’s, yet their family staff department letting them down BIG TIME. Entertainment was again good! But not 5 star, karaoke on the Saturday was the best night for us, the manager of the cotton club works very hard making sure everyone has a good time and got majority of everyone up every night to dance! I would recommend this hotel, and also would consider returning, maybe without children next time.
We returned on the 23rd of June after the best 10 days here, we are a big family of all different ages and we’ve all found this has been our favourite holiday after visiting many countries and hotels. The hotel is beautiful with plenty of pools, the water aerobics every morning has been so much fun! The water slides for the kids are great and the little kids bit for the younger ones. The food we all thought was exceptional with plenty of choice each day. The staff are so lovely, polite and attentive. We cleaner Adalina came everyday made the room lovely changed our beds everyday and provided fresh towels and water. Plenty of things on at night for everyone, the Greek night especially was so much fun. The rooms were lovely and spacious, we had an ocean view which was so nice to wake up to. Sissi itself is beautiful, we went on the happy train around the island, we visited the tavern paradise cove which is a 5 minute walk, its run by a lovely family, they have swings to sit in which we loved, there’s the small harbour next to it where you can swim in the sea and a shower next to it for after. There’s a supermarket next to the hotel where you can buy most things and run by some lovely women who were so kind to us. We all cannot understand some of the negative reviews on here as we don’t have a single complaint and have all said we would return to Vasia again.
Had a four night break at Vasia Resort & Spa, would recommend. I cannot associate some of the negative reviews with what I experienced. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful. The room was out of this world. Only day room not cleaned was Sunday; I imagine because the normal housekeeper was on a day off but bins were still emptied and towels changed although dirty glasses were missed. Food was excellent everyday with too many choices. All staff were approachable and helpful. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss but we made the most of it. Sun beds around our pool did get filled up but if we went to next door pool we always found a bed. Spa was friendly and amazing. I really don’t think I could complain about anything. Was very relaxing break and would recommend.
EasyJet rated this hotel as a 5 star, so I was optimistic. Upon arrival I thought, this is 3 star at best, and as time went on it shouldn’t be rated more. Food terrible, service at meals none existent, limited options for food and drinks eg allergies or sugar free. If you want sugar free you’ll be drinking water all holiday. The rooms, we got given an upgrade from 2 rooms to 2 bed with balcony, which had a nice sea view balcony, but theres no privacy, we as adults don’t really want to be sharing with parents/friends where there are no door locks for example. Ohh and on that note, no bathrooms have door locks, and there aren’t many onsite. For advertising 6 pools, they were rather small. No beach nearby, it’s a must to rent a car really, that’s about the only good thing plenty of hire car companies close by and very reasonable on price
Well set up. Staff very helpful. Very nice and spacious rooms with terrace and view of the sea. Well set up for families.
It was perhaps a little busy for us, the food was more about quantity then quality.
We went for a week as a family of five (boys 9, 3 and baby girl 5months) and had a lovely time. Check in was straightforward though I wish they handed out the map on arrival instead of me going the next morning to ask. We had a quiet 2 bed right next to reception and opposite the pool which was perfect. No noise from entertainment whatsoever. The meal times aren’t as advertised - food was always available earlier at lunchtime than the 1pm slot, from around 1230. Food variety and quality was good across all meals - enough for both (fussy) kids and adults to eat! I have to say the availability of food outside of buffet meal times wasn’t fantastic - just ice cream, cake and some very dry sandwiches due to the heat at around 4pm which disappeared quickly. We ate at La Trattoria one night as our a la carte - not particularly kid friendly menu and very windy up there but was nice to do something a bit different and the food was lovely. In terms of the pools, the kids pools were busy with limited shaded areas - the slides were a hit and the little splash pool was deeper than expected! We much preferred the pool right next to the restaurant - lovely water temp and our 3yo could stand up there. It was also less busy. We had a few issues with the housekeeping but that was more so because they came to clean in the heat of the day when we’d taken the kids back for a sleep so had to keep sending them away. On day 4 I went to reception to ask for them to come first thing and they did - definitely more of a bed making and towel replacement than an actual clean though. Can’t fault the friendliness of any of the staff at the hotel! We really enjoyed our trip and although there was a kids club and entertainment, we didn’t make use of either, preferring to have a wander down to the harbour or back to our room for card games.
Hotel is supposed to be five star no way is it five star more like three star probably was a five star when it opened, but now it's tatty and un maintained . food is good . All inclusive drinks are pretty poor.Bar shuts at eleven unless you want to pay . The only five star thing was the sunshine it was gorgeous full Sun all week
If you want 5* or 4* don’t book this hotel it is barely 3* rooms dirty, no towels left, drinks awful, food same most days, hardly any entertainment, the best bar at the beach not included in All Inclusive, broken sunbeds, rude receptionists. Nothing to differentiate between half board and All Inclusive no bands so half board could just get drinks and food same as All Inclusive they are suppose to ask the room number but didn’t. Also paying 15 euros per night for a 5* which certainly is not think twice before booking a lot of people were complaining as it is not as described
Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel Clean but outdated rooms Ideal for families only. Food was good. Bar/ restaurant Staff pleasant and hard working
Hotel is lovely, in spite of other reviews the food was good with loads of variety. The hotel is overrun with loads of children, the pool area for children was full then I go to the pool mainly for adults and the noise was terrible. Too many sun beds too close to each other. We decided to catch bus down to beach everyday to get away from the noisy children.Anastia in the bar in the hotel was fantastic nothing was too much trouble for her, a lovely person who worked hard.
We stayed here for a week in June and thought the hotel was good. I don't think anyone from the UK would class it as 5 star, though. Maybe a 3 or 4 probably. Our room was a suitable size for us and it beside the kids pool, at least we didn't have far to walk to the Cotton Club. We found the staff very friendly and it looked like they worked long hours as it was the same people throughout the day and night. We didn't have a problem with the food on offer as there was plenty to choose from. Not a lot of entertainment but I suppose it's still early in the season. We took the hotel minibus to the beach at Malia and liked it there. Dropped off at Paradise Beach and then picked up a few hours later. There is a nice harbour not far from the hotel where there are bars, restaurants and some local shops. Also we walked to Boufos beach from the harbour area. Knossos shopping centre next to the hotel was reasonably priced and had a good selection, that's also where we went on the 1/2 day trip with George on the Happy Train which was good. I would recommend going to Amelia Taverna for some food as it was really good and very busy. We did have a good time here and the hotel was fine for us. Also you need to pay €15 for each night you stay for tourist tax or resort fee, can't remember what it was for. I think it goes on star rating of hotel and also to pay if you need a late checkout.
Resort was very good and catered for everyone. Excellent restaurant with good choice of food every mealtime. There was a plan food bar for children which could also be used by adults if you are a plan eater. Staff very attentive and friendly in restaurant and bars. Choice of swimming pools so if you don’t have children you can be peaceful in the sun. Children’s pool was great with slides and a toddler poo for the little ones with their own slides and waterfall. Great snack shack and bar next to children’s pool with constant snacks and ice cream. Good choice of alcohol and great cocktails. Family rooms were very good with 2 full size bedrooms and a reception area. On suite bathroom in one bedroom plus a good size family bathroom. Clean and bed linen and towels changed regularly. Pool towels provided. There were two other restaurants you could have a meal in as part of your holiday booking. We tried the Greek restaurant but were very disappointed. Service was very slow and the food wasn’t as good as main restaurant. In fact it was sub standard and disappointing. Should have tried the Italian restaurant. Kids club was well run and our grandchildren loved the activities and the staff. Entertainment was ok with kids disco 3 times a week and then adult show followed disco. Not West End entertainers but ok for a holiday resort. We had a lovely holiday which was enjoyed by children, parents and grandparents in a very well run resort. Would definitely recommend it for family’s or adults alike. We would go back again if we were the travellers who return to a holiday destination.
We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel considering the cost. The waiting staff are very friendly and helpful but we had a lot of other issues. The variety on offer in the buffet restaurant was very limited and repetitive. Especially at lunchtimes when in this heat we did not wish to eat hot stews. I was told at reception that only the restaurant was open. This turned out not to be the case but by the time we knew, it was too late to book. The website is very misleading as to the number of restaurants and food options that are open, especially at lunchtimes time. The Snack bar very limited and cooked at the beginning, there is no freshly cooked food available. Snacks throughout the day are also limited and unappealing as look stale and not particularly fresh. The room that we are in, whilst clean, is very dated. There is paint pealing and chips on the furniture. The dressing gowns were not in a very good state and had lots of threadbare loose material. The shower did not work properly, until we called to have it fixed, and water/soap came up from the drain in the middle of the bathroom. There was no air conditioning in the lounge area of the room, making it almost unusable during the day and evening. The wooden sun loungers by the pool looked like they had seen better days and the cushions on top are stained. The seats also had plastic bits missing, leaving sharp pointed bits of metal. The travel cot does not open up properly with the sides not clicking into place and as a result it felt dangerous to sleep in as we didn’t know if it would stay open. Another issue was the limited shaded areas. The umbrellas by the pool were fixed to the ground so that you couldn’t move sun loungers to the shade. There was also very limited shaded outdoor seating in the buffet restaurant. Whilst having a low toilet for toddlers is excellent, not having a baby changing station in any toilet is particularly bad if the hotel is marketed as being for families. Finally the roads running through the resort made it unsafe for our daughter to walk around. We also realised on our final day that there wasn’t a life guard at any of the pools. We were expecting 5 star quality but do not feel that our stay has lived up to this.
Ok where to start, i read reviews about the hotel before staying, i honestly belive them to be untrue. What we have experienced Cold food in the restaurant- daily Lack of water, coffee, milk, sugar in the rooms - daily Cockroaches in the rooms- twice Flood in the room. Blocked drains in the rooms. The receptionist actually said that she was glad she didn't have to sleep in our room! This is quite possibly the worst hotel i have ever staryed in, if it has been sold as a 5 star you have been ripped off. From the food to the quality of fixtures and fittings, entertainment and cleaning regime this is a solid 3 star. I'm still here now, eating out most of the time as the cooked food is total crap, I eat salads if I need to have anything here. Going home in a couple of days, can't wait, the only good thing is it has reminded me how lucky I am at home. All the posts about it being clean, my room has not been cleaned properly in the last 10 days.
Arrived home after a 2 week stay at the Vasia! Was greeted with a hot meal on arrival. We stayed in a family upstairs downstairs room and water was replenished daily in the fridge. I was apprehensive at first as not a lot of pictures of the food here but safe to say it is good. It is repetitive and I'd like to have seen steak but there was always something although I wish the pizza was the same pizza as in the a la carte ! Orange juice was fresh which was a bonus. I have to say smiley icecream lady in canteen should be on the main reception. She is just lovely and true asset. The receptionist she could do with smiling a bit ! She's front of house. The staff work tirelessly and so happy . We ate in both a la carte both good for an AI as normally awful. We preferred the Italian but both good. Free as one for each week being AI. Swim slides and pool was great my kids were chuffed with this however....something needs to be done about the kids club. The staff are lovely and safety aspect amazing eg you book online etc...but there's no descriptions of any of the activities. The mini disco is hardly on just 3 times a week and I feel the staff need to be in a bright uniform for kids it felt like they couldn't be bothered and were not confident in the dances. The entertainment needs sorting only thing that let's the place down. So many children just sat there waiting for something. Run a disco every night, then something kid friendly then do adult entertainment. So many kids no where to go. We ventured out as its a must in sissi. Taverna amelia for Greek night amazing. Peggy Gordon's quiz and Karaoke Ormos or Queens for sunset , and best crepes ever at coba. Stam stam a must too. So all in all great holiday . But please sort the kids club. The activities inside my kids enjoyed a couple of times but they wanted more games around the pool. It seemed the reps didn't venture outside their space. Not visible. More mini disco and make it more fun in evening for kids !
O staff e 5 estrelas mto atenciosos e simpaticos!
I have been twice, solo then couple trip. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, clean, good food great variety. Perfect for kids, young , adults and older people. The staff are amazing and friendly. I made some friends who even remembered me the next year. The room was spacious and if anything broke they fixed it immediately. The only part that isn’t great is the entertainment ends quite early in the evening. The area is beautiful and quiet. If you want a party area it’s not here, it is lovely. Prices in local restaurants attractions are so very reasonable. The excursions you can go on and well priced and amazing adventure and make great memories. I would highly recommend. Lovely fishing village
I only have good things to say about this hotel… on arrival we were shown to the reception to check in whilst our bags were taken are of. We were checked in quickly and pointed to the restaurant to grab something to eat after our long journey. From there we went to collect our bags… we were taken on a golf cart to our room with a lovely member of staff who pointed out all of the amenities on our way round to our room. He also brought our suitcases all the way in to our room which was so lovely. Once in the room we had a lovely note left for us as it was our honeymoon, a bottle of wine and a plate of fresh fruit. The room was extremely clean and was cleaned every single day.. it smelt lovely like bleach everytime you walked in. Fresh towels for shower and pool towels were given.. the hotel as a whole was also extremely clean.. every single toilet around the complex smelt so nice and fresh and clean. Food…there was so much to choose from every single meal time.. definitely something for everyone… we booked into the Greek restaurant whist on our stay and the service was just amazing aswell as all of the food. Every single day we managed to get a sun bed around any of the pools. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming… the guys who did the entertainment in the cotton bar are so funny and try to get everyone involved just genuine lovely people. Around the hotel is a few shops and if you go for a walk round near the harbour just a short walk away the views are beautiful aswell as more gift shops in a small town, coffee shops ect. If you are wanting to go to the beach then go and ask the reception as they have a minibus free of charge that will take you to their sister hotel right onto the beach with sunbeds and parasols to use for free (look out for the lady who walks along the beach and tries to massage your feet for 25 euros haha) You also get a percentage off food and drink whilst there and then the minibus will come back and pick you up at the time stated. Again lots of amazing shops around there and coffee shops to sit and enjoy the views of the sea and beach. I could actually keep go on about how lovely our stay was and we have looked into coming back next year we enjoyed it that much. AMAZING!!
On a arrival given a refreshing drink during check in as it was gone 23:00 we was supplied with a bag with fresh fruit and rolls and given a drink at the bar Rooms have a fridge/ kettle and daily refreshed coffee tea and bottles of water These rooms are standard but are very clean and given towels bed change throughout our stay and beach towels changed every day Daughters room was a superior family room which again she was very pleased with and friends also The areas around this complex is kept very clean to a high standard All staff were very friendly polite and helpful. Man in Greek restaurant was very friendly and also went out of his way to ensure our meal was enjoyable. You get either a Greek or Italian meal free during stay Pool area again very clean pool very cold and beds do need upgrading but there was struggle to get a bed Food was excellent could not fault again staff working there were friendly and always smiling Alcoholic drinks well we was surprised to find these of a decent quality brands and full strength and a decent measure too We also went out of the complex walking enjoying the areas and went into malia in a 8 seater taxi 80 euros round trip and the man came and picked us back up the taxi again was of a high standard Hotel charged a 10 euro per day tax due to there 5 star rating think a 4 would be more suitable unless they up grade rooms and beds around pool Yes we would return but not in high season as feel it would be too busy for us shame one pool is not heated
I went to the Spa which is on the Vasia Hotel Grounds. I would honestly say the prices were more expensive then a massage I can get in London but I do have to say Anna providing great customer service and received some of the upper neck/shoulder tension. The massage is so relaxing you just want to go to sleep. Overall the staff are friendly and welcoming. You get Spa slippers to use , towel and a robe. There are showers , shampoo and shower gel which you can use in the changing room.. For a resort abroad if you want to treat yourself then go ahead. Other treatments on offer, it is best to book in advance.
Overall very friendly personnel, great food, tidy place! Just one thing what was wondering us: Why did they build these wooden bathroom doors? You could always hear the "interesting noises" from your family members when they were in the bathroom because the door is so thin and you can even look through it...
Overall we were very happy with our stay here. The hotel is situated in the large village of Sissi and is a short (but steep) walk from the small harbour / rocky beach. Our room was a good size and excellent - very comfortable and immaculately clean. The food was varied and particularly good for me as a vegetarian - all dishes being clearly labelled. Plenty of meat and fish for my carnivorous husband! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, with the sole exception of one rather frosty receptionist, who was just about civil but not friendly. Everybody else was lovely. Negatives - the bathroom door was louvred, which afforded no privacy. The restaurant was rather sterile and needed some sort of local touches, and some colour - it didn't feel at all Cretan. It was also very noisy. The evening entertainment was as expected - we didn't stay long! We are not pool users, but we gathered that the water was very cold, and very few people were using them. Don't forget to take bug spray etc - we were both bitten in spite of using it regularly. These are only small negatives - please don't let it put you off - you will have a very enjoyable stay here.
Landestypisch gute Unterbringung und Ausstattung. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer großzügig und sauber. Klimaanlagen recht laut. Meer in unmittelbarer Nähe, sehr schön. Hauptsächlich Steinstände, aber kostenloses Shuttle zu schönen Sandstränden vorhanden. Wir waren zufrieden und haben uns gut erholt
We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment with private pool - that worked perfectly for our family of four, seemed like a better option than the VIP Maisonette with pool we had booked, those pools looked small and very close together when you saw them 'in real life'. Very happy with that upgrade and would definitely recommend spending the extra money on that. Kids pool and pool with water slides next to snack bar (hotdogs, fries, burgers and ice cream) and away from main pool and restaurant so you could avoid it if you wanted to :) Food in main restaurant was surprisingly good, lots of options. Staff was friendly. 30 min. yoga/stretching session by a small pool overlooking the sea each morning after breakfast was heaven. There were different classes in the gym but didn't bring my shoes so couldn't go.
The soft drinks were not good, sugar free coke was undrinkable and juices way to strong and synthetic. We figured out we could order Grenadine with ice water and that was similar to more Nordic style lemonade that our kids could drink :) beer and white wine was fine. The place had everything we needed, but our room was quite old and worn. Not enough electrical outlets and a lot of ants coming in from the terrace. Cleaning staff didn't clean the terrace so that might be a contributing factor... They didn't fill up coffee regularly in the room. When staying more than a week, you are invited to eat at one of the hotel's a la carte restaurants. There are two options - a Mediterranean restaurant and a Greek restaurant. The Mediterranean one is rooftop and was fully booked, but we got a table at the Greek restaurant for my husband's birthday. That was one of the worst meals we have ever had - on any vacation we've ever been on! The restaurant is on the hotel property and very small, the food seemed to have been brought down from the main buffet restaurant with 'chefs' just plating it up. No kid options at all. Swordfish and souvlaki completely dry, we were unable to finish it. We skipped dessert (as did other tables) and went to the main restaurant. So, I would highly recommend avoiding that option!
Très bon hôtel par contre manque d’animation le soir
Friendly and accomadating Staff. Good food. Great swimming pools.
You have to travel about 5 km to find a decent beach. Shuttle bus to beach early in morning and back in evening. No local bus to beach.
The staff
We had a problem with the bathtub.
Das war alles toll😍
Excellent location, good food and clean amenities.
Noticed a plaque above the toilet that had half the letters missing. In 3 languages. Took a few days to figure out that NO PAPER was supposed to be thrown into the toilet. This applies to most of Greece and most facilities but is not explained or advertised as it should have been. Problem brought to the attention of the front desk, unsure if management was advised.
Morning food buffet was good: high variety, well made dishes, good fruit and coffee. Pool facilities looked in good working order and there were several open public spaces for all guests.
The property as a whole is aged and not always well maintained. The tennis “court” was in a sorry state (net on the ground, provided racquets were old and dirty, some tennis balls were deflated!). The room was barely passable with old furniture, bathroom accessories and even an ant infestation.
A very comfortable hotel for a family holiday. The food is above average for a all included hotel, the rooms are nice big and clean, but what gives it a wonderful feeling is the staff which is amazing, making all they can to make your time the best it can be.
Great place with great staff.
