Sea of Cortez Beach Club

Disappointed, the hotel is overpriced for what it is—no Wi-Fi other than the first floor; no bar or restaurant on site. There is nothing within walking distance, and we have to leave the property for any needs. Wanted to enjoy a few drinks without worrying about driving. Paid for an upgraded room online, but had to take a first-floor room because I needed the wifi to complete some work.

What a sweet place! Obviously we're here in the off-season and mid week, as there are only 2-3 other rooms booked tonight. But I'm so impressed! Right on the beach, the facilities are authentic and well-cared for. We went to dinner down the street at the main resort, and had great service. We would stay here again in a heartbeat..

Overall good

Cleaning staff never came to make the room. Coffe kit only for the first morning. At least, they should have a coffe machine for mornings, had to drive for it. Great place, front desk staff 1st class

Very nice place, no restaurant, no bar, must travel for food. Bed was comfortable, internet works well.

Great hotel and sraff

We have stayed at this property many times. Unfortunately the on property restaurant and bar are permanently closed. We have also had some issues with getting housekeeping to clean our room and the floors seem like they need a deep cleaning.

I love this place and have stayed many times. The rooms are spacious and generally clean. This time I was very very disappointed in the condition of the bathroom. Hair on the shower wall, the plug for the tub did not work and the fan sound was loud and disturbing! I registered these complaints and the front desk seemed not to care about my experience at all.

We got a room with a faukty bed, caused back pains, headache and we did notify mngmnt but they opted to wait till mid morning to get an approval from the mangr... by then, our plans were shot after effects of sleep deprivations. We left the hotel and requested full refund.

This property exceeded my expectations. It’s conveniently located near restaurants and the boat marina—especially accessible if you have a car. Security presence was consistent and reassuring, making me feel very safe throughout my stay. They also went above and beyond by informing us about high tides and the best times to enjoy the water. I’m already looking forward to returning to San Carlos just to stay here again.

Amazing hotel with breathtaking view of the ocean! All cooking utensils available was a plus.

I have stayed here many times. Love the pool and hot tub. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The place is well cared for. It seems pricey tho. It is quite a drive to go anywhere and there is no breakfast, restaurant or bottled water. I’m not sure I will stay again. There was very loud music almost all night long next door. Not the hotel’s fault but still we didn’t get any sleep.

AC in room never worked but excellent staff and recommended overall.

Staff was very friendly, the studio room was very spacious and it included everything needed for a long stay. In addition - room was very clean and over-all the property was quiet.

Property was secure and quiet. The staff was very nice! It was off season, and the bar and restaurant were closed. There are no vending machines or other ways to get food or drink. It was a little off putting after travelong all day, that we had to leave the hotel to get bottled water, dinner, and snacks.

Loved the view and the rooms were spacious. Wifi never worked in any of our 3 different rooms. Their shower heads definitely need an update. Water pressure was spotty and completely stopped working in one room. Leaky toilet in our other room. Ran all night. Very loud and annoying.

Friendly staff, all rooms are water view. The only complaint is the walls are insulated at all. You can literally here someone snoring loudly in the next room, and I mean loudly haha.

Lots of details here that other places neglect. Hot water in hot tub. Full size fridge. Lots of towels. Ice machine close by. Only concern - there was some noise that started up fairly late - disturbed our sleep a bit

We loved our room. It was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfy. The shower was awesome! Plenty of water, pressure and hot water. The kitchenette had everything we needed. And the ocean view is spectacular. The disappointing thing is that there is no access to a sandy beach without getting in the car and driving to the sister property a few hundred yards down the road. And, the swimming pool doesn't open until 9 AM. There is access to the water and it might have good snorkeling. But if you're looking for a sunrise or sunset beach walk, you're out of luck without getting into your car.

Not a clean hotel. Not coming back.

This is my second stay at the hotel and it did not disappoint. Every room has a balcony with a gorgeous ocean view. Large heated pool and jacuzzi. There’s no space to place a towel on the beach but it is a prime snorkeling spot (there’s a ladder to easily get into the water). The sister hotel, which is located on the beach, is an easy and safe 10 minute walk. You get access to their amenities just by staying at this hotel. The room was huge, great shower and AC, and a big comfy bed. Fantastic option for staying in San Carlos. I’ll be back.

My hubby and I stayed at Sea of Cortez Beach Club for 8 nights in order to "ring in the New Year" for 2024 !!! This hotel is PERFECT and exactly what we were hoping for !!! We had a Suite which was huge, complete with an entire kitchen (with dishwasher, two burner stove, and huge refrigerator, coffeemaker, etc), along with a balcony which overlooked the gorgeous ocean!!! The jacuzzi was the PERFECT temperature and was not very busy !!! Being that this is their "off season", we were not concerned that the bar was not open at the hotel. They gave us access to their neighboring hotel, the "San Carlos Hotel" and told us we could utilize their beach side bar and restaurant. Sea of Cortez Beach club is located on a BEAUTIFUL beach, but has a rocky beachfront from the hotel down to the beach. This was GREAT for my hubby to snorkel !! We did walk down the sandy beach in both directions (north and south), and we came upon two great little sandy beach restaurants to the north (approx 1.4 miles walk each way). The Sunset Bar and Grill and the Mesa Cortez restaurants had fantastic prices and food/alcohol !!! You will NOT be disappointed by hanging out at these locations to watch the sunset !!! San Carlos in general is EXTREMELY safe and we were impressed with the beauty of the area !!!! We LOVED our stay and met so many nice ex-Pats while visiting the area !!! We also did a sunset cruise on New Years Eve and had a BLAST on a catamaran !!! SUCH beautiful views !!!!

This is our favorite property to stay at in San Carlos. Always 5 star stay! Great location and amenities.

Is good place to staid and have a good time

It was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. It would be perfect if there was a bar and a simple restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. It’s a little tricky getting down to walk on the beach but once we got down there it was a nice walk.

There’s a reason why this hotel is ranked among the best in San Carlos. The service sets this place apart. They behave like they are there to make sure you enjoy yourself instead of like SeaTerra and Casa Marie down the road, where service is rude and ghetto. Receptionist on their phone sort of thing. This place would rate 8 anywhere else but give the the competition in the vicinity, 9 is a good rating.

Although the restaurant and bar were closed which wasn't ideal, the staff were very friendly. Rooms were extremely spacious and had everything I needed. Very clean and well maintained. Incredible views. Nice size pool and decent beach access. The covered patios were much appreciated.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sea of Cortez Beach club, it was easy to get to, convenient, very clean and the rooms we had were spacious and very comfortable. Staff was very nice and hospitable. Beautiful Ocean views too! Just a bit noisy at night and the parking lot was small it is mostly designed for compact cars. Otherwise our stay was very enjoyable, I highly recommend this place :) SJ

Attentive, kind staff, clean, large rooms, great Mexican food (not pizza!) This is my 7th stay and this is my go-to place in San Carlos. I love that it is reasonable, accessible, and so well maintained and cleaned! 10 stars

What could be better than a room with a view? How about a restaurant and bar onsite! And let's add a small sandy beach, beach chairs galore and vendor (artist) right there crafting, cooking area and lounge area outside? Now let's add chairs and tables on the balcony so the view can be enjoyed at all times! And, what if I said it was affordable? Super affordable. Great staff. All that said, there was noise issues on two nights that were largely ignored by the staff. But...the benefits far outweigh the lack of initiative with security.

Great place

We would return for another stay. The staff was friendly, the view was great, the bed comfortable and the studio room was spacious.. Did not use the pool or spa because, our mistake, we stayed during Easter break and it was crowded with families enjoying the break, i.e., 30 kids and 20 adults in the pool, high noise level. It was still an enjoyable stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodations were clean and more than adequate for the price. We had a room-suite with a full service kitchen and separate bedroom with a king size bed. You could cook your own meals if desired. Only drawback was that hotel was served by a single restaurant. You would have to drive to reach other restaurants. Closest one that we found was about 2 1/2 miles away.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days, Monday thru Friday. The staff were always pleasant, friendly, and helped with any questions or problems we had. The room/suite was equipped with a full service kitchen area and a separate bedroom with a king size bed. The kitchen area had a microwave, two burner electric stove top, a full size (15 cu. ft) refrigerator-freezer. Plus there were sufficient pots, pans and utensils to meet our needs. Well worth the price we paid.

GREAT prices, great views, great location, clean, safe, up to date and just an easy place to have a nice quiet time with the family. Love this hotel/resort. Doesn't have a beach but it has waterfront and is plenty good for swimming in the sea. Great pool, and each room has a view.

I enjoyed the peacefulness of the property and its surroundings, and the staff was so much fun. Sara and Oscar were the best!

Stayed one night at a nearby condo at the suggestion of a friend. Horrible place and pricey too! Escapes for two nights at Beach Club and it was so lovely. Hated to leave.

Great place for family

The location is pleasing and the living space is ample. However, there is a USD 13.03 daily "resort fee." Aside from a Jacuzzi tub, there are no resort amenities. One night, guests played very loud music poolside. The staff did not stop this unpleasant behavior until we asked that it be stopped. We will not return and instead rent one of the many condos available.

This is a wonderful property. The 1 bdrm suite is very spacious and well equipped. Would definitely stay again. Only disappointment was the weather it was cool & very windy.

If you happen to visit San Carlos, there are plenty of options when it comes to accommodations. This property has excellent views from all sides, and the facility is so well maintained. Rooms were spotless and everything smelled fresh. You have to drive a little past the center of town, but it is well worth the trip.

We were only passing through for a one night stay, but we loved it there. It was extremely well appointed, and well priced, comparatively speaking.

We have stayed at this resort many times. Although it's a challenge to get here unless you drive it is definitely worth it. The staff are excellent, every room looks out over the Sea of Cortez and the sunsets here are amazing as is watching the dolphins play in the water right outside our room.

We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we walked through the door. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The groundskeeper saw me washing my car and showed me we’re the hose was tucked away and out of sight. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable although it could use some refurbishing. The quiet location is fine if you have a car but a bit to isolated without one. All in all it’s good value for the money.

This was our fourth visit. Each time all staff interactions have always been positive, from front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant personnel. All requests are promptly addressed. The facility is spotless! I was securing a loose panel under my vehicle when a maintenance man appeared and asked if he could be of assistance. They truly care about their guests. They are also very patient with my limited Spanish skills!

Beautiful location!!

The room was very comfortable, and the view was amazing. Consider that breakfast is not included. The list of TV channels is short, they have channels in both languages English and Spanish, but the quality is very poor. The pool and all areas are really good.

Older property and missing a few amenities such as a gym. Noisy pool and spa in the evenings. Need a taxi to get to and from town ($7) which wasn’t a big deal for us. Or beach walk at 1.4 miles to the restaurant we liked. Staff was good and on the ball. Pool bar was nice. Limited quality tea/coffee service at the facility. Location attractiveness is very good. Lovely area.

The room was spotless, fully stocked kitchen, heat and a/c, access to beach, restaurant & bar on property. We felt very safe parking in their guarded lot and exploring the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The property is located a short distance from the city center so it is quieter but vehicle access is a must.

it is very well located. The rooms are very comfortable. People at front desk is very kind. Hotel is just minutes away from the commercial zone. The swimming pool water is at the right temperature all the time.

The room was large, clean and well appointed. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. But the pool wasn't heated (it was supposed to be), the pool and terrace areas were dirty - bird poop on the tables & lounge chairs, construction dirt everywhere from concrete work happening every single day of the week. The food from the restaurant was inedible, really truly terrible and we are not picky eaters. Be warned this resort is NOT on the beach - it is on the water and they have a terrace area with lounge chairs and sand they have brought in. This resort is also on the windy side of San Carlos - it was windy every day in October- some days blowing so hard we couldn't sit outside. But if we drove to the other side of San Carlos it was fine. You need a car to stay here- there is nothing else nearby but other resorts.

The staff is very personable and helpful. If you don't like a hotel like atmosphere this place is for you. It feels more like a private condo, but with amenities. A bit too windy in the pms. Very clean with gorgeous views.

This setting is one of our favorites. Arturo, Felipe, Griselda and Manuel made it a pleasurable vacation. We love floating in the the Sea of Cortez, and the hot tub and pool. Plan to visit again next year.

Very bad customer service - the lady at the reception wasn’t helpful at all. I inquired about transportation to the airport and she wasn’t trying to be helpful. The guy, on the other hand, was very helpful. Because of this lady, I had to cancel my visit to San Carlos - disappointing experience

BEWARE!!! BED BUGS!! Three hours into sleep, I woke up scratching everywhere! To my horror, there were bed bugs everywhere and I had been bitten over 30!!! Miserable experience!

Bed Bugs!! Terrible experience after discovering bed was infested. Over a dozen bites. Management didn't even address until after I posted a negative review. Ruined the entire experience and would not refund my funds so I could stay elsewhere. Could not enjoy pool or sauna due to visible bug bites all over my body.

The location was great and the room was clean. The staff was great, very helpful. Would recommend staying here.

It’s a great place to stay in San Carlos. Staff is warm and welcoming. The pool and bar rules could be a bit more relaxed and the food at the restaurant could be better.
