I attended a conference which was in the nearby conference centre. The staff were very friendly, helpful and offered help when we needed it including the room service and bar staff.

We asked for our laundry to be completed which was meant to be returned on the same day. This didn’t happen which was disappointing. Luckily we allowed extra time before we decided to hand the laundry a day early before our scheduled departure.

Strange room layout. Needs a bit of an upgrade, we had constant problems with our access keys, the drain in the shower kept coming out and had some very odd light fittings with exposed wires.

Needs a makeover. Very old and outdated fittings, TV etc. breakfast was poor

The towels are kept too high for senior citizens and the shower floor gets a bit slippery. Maybe add a railing for older guests

I loved the wild or savoury rice, it had lentils, zucchini, other veggies and it was fried, the roasted potatoes, the mozambik peri peri sauce, the sausages and the fruit salads! It was different and delicious.

The resturant staff can work on being a little bit friendly, they seemed a little tired

Mats in the room, open bathroom plan, especially cos it was a family suit I didnt like that it was open, the only thing holding it was a curtain.

The hotel is conveniently located, clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, and the views were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a great base for exploring Cape Town.

Loved the room & the bed was super comfortable. Loved the views but next time will get a suite with a balcony. Loved the coffee making facilities provided on each floor as you came out of the elevator.

No swimming facilities on the premises. However it was available at a sister hotel down the street but was not told that I would need swimming cap, so did not end up using this facility.

We loved the comfortable bed and quality linen. The location was excellent, especially for visiting Canal Walk Mall.

Breakfast was not ready at 7:00 as expected. We were unable to watch television in the room, as the South African channels were scrambled.

The location and price was very good. Breakfast also good. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is in serious need of a revamp. It looks like maintenance has not been done for years. Even the floors are peeling up.

Breakfast and staff. Eggs were prepared by staff who just wiped the counters with water and didnt wash there hands. Cleanliness in the restaurant was bad.

The aircon in room 502 was not heating up

Location and staff were excellent, parking a bit unclear as there are so many spots available and reserved for other tenants and the hotel bays are very spread out and far from the entrances.

Restaurant was not great. I’d rate the food and service a 4/10 We both had steak and it was completely overdone and presentation was not great.

Everything seemed old

Room was beautifully modern, spacious and clean.

Not a big fan of the breakfast. There was only coffee available, no other options like flat white or cappuccino. Also breakfast options were very limited.

Microwave does not turn, cutlery very old and used. During the winter the aluminium doors don’t seal properly so you get a cold air coming through when in the bed. Bathroom toilet light never goes off which is a disturbance, I assume it needs to be motion censored or the door opening and closing. No hair dryer?

Easy, friendly, and accommodating. We had a very nice room, and the staff were friendly. It felt like a little getaway, isolated from all the noise, while still being right next to Cape Town. Overall, it was really good, and we enjoyed our stay.

It would be helpful to have some additional crockery and serving items in the room, such as bowls for chips or other shared snacks. Sharing snacks from individual packets was a bit difficult. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else at the moment.

I didn't like the fact they couldn't organize me halal breakfast, and made me feel out of place like only because I've booked for 1 night but it's not my 1st time at the Hotel. They had to organize an halal breakfast I've even sent an email the day before for halal breakfast the day before check in.

Dinner at the hotel was great. Room was comfortable. Only complaint was that I was unable to turn on the bathroom lights in the am and had to shower in a semi-dark shower stall.

I had an amazing stay at the Colosseum Luxury Hotel, Cape Town. To start with, the location of the hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, like the CCCC (Century City Convention Center); just 3 min walk and you are there. Lots of restaurants and attractions are around you. The view I had from my room (Executive Suite with Balcony) was amazing, with Table Mountain right in front of me. The whole staff (without exception) is amazing, friendly, always smiling, and goes out of their way to help you. When you are at the Colosseum hotel, you feel at home. The rooms were clean, and the entourage is quiet if your room is not right on the street side. even though, with the nature of the city, it's rare that you find people out there partying late at night during weekdays, so the location is in general quiet and peaceful, and safe which is very important. as for the value, the offer we had had an excellent value for our money, relative to the size of the rooms and location of the hotel, and on top of that, if you register to the newsletter of the hotel, you will get yet an additional 10% on the room rate, which is the cherry on top of the cake (the room rate already was very reasonable compared ot other hotels in the same vicinity). During our stay, due to the cold and windy weather, the hotel provided us with a complimentary bus ride from the hotel to the CCCC in the morning just to guarantee our comfort and well-being. This is something that I highly appreciate, and the fact that the hotel suggested this without us even asking shows how the staff treats their guests as if they are family. Finally, on our Check out, our flight was at 7 pm, and we had a long business day, so for us to freshen up and to store our luggage, since we were a group of 8 visiting for business, the hotel suggested to provide us with a 2 bedroom Suite where our luggage was stored safely, and the room was provided to us on complimentary basis to freshen up before our flight back home. If you prefer to keep your room for extra time after check out, then the hotel can provide you with a service where you can keep your room and just pay a reasonable fee per hour (surely per availability of the room). But don't worry, the staff will always try to find a solution for you, even if the hotel is booked and your room is not available anymore. I am saying that as per my own experience, as I have mentioned above. My only concern was that my stay was very short and only for business, but when I come back to Cape Town, then I will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Colosseum Hotel, for my amazing stay with you. I enjoyed and appreciated every moment.

The staff were amazing especially the ones at the reception desk. I loved my room, it was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the hot water was great and I loved the bath tub!!!! The shopping mall was a walking distance and the shops therein were amazing. The location was very secure and we felt safe.

The staff’s face looks like they don’t want you to be there. A waiteress especially… Then, the egg cooker lady, I tried to communicate. She is not responding. She just asks about how egg should be cooked. I joke and smile. No response! An unpleasure and unhappy face. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The staff are always friendly, but the rooms are in need of maintenance. Wall paper is coming off, mould in bathrooms, chips in most furniture, stains on the curtains and the couches in the room are definitely ready for an upgrade. Ive stayed in a few rooms over the past year, ranging from individual rooms to suites, and all seem to require a bit of attention.

The waiter do not do so good. They do not look need, not al all. The 1 was laying over/on the counter that does not look good. When I asked for scramble eggs, it looked if they are doing me a favour not there work. the shower panel is leaking into the toilet. the bedroom basin is clogged, I put in some hot water.

Due to the rain room was flooded and smelled not that great, it was only one night, but if more than one it would be worse. This was a swap out from a single to a double room, and understand it was due to really bad weather but the hotel should be able to cater for this and ensure maintenance is done

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, from when we checked in to when we check out, everything was according to standard, we did not need to ask for anything from hairdryers, to iron and ironing boards, water and coffees were made available, espresso machine closer to the elevators in a small lounging area was a very ideal plan. Check -in time is a little late for 14:30pm, perhaps 1pm next time?
