Je viens de passer 7 nuits ici avec un ami et honnêtement, c'était parfait du début à la fin. L'ambiance est top, l'endroit est magnifique et respire la bonne humeur du matin au soir. Mais ce qui a vraiment fait toute la différence, c'est le staff. Une équipe adorable, hyper attentionnée, toujours prête à rendre notre séjour encore meilleur. Un immense merci en particulier à Eve, Jack, Ale, Lainna et Kris pour leur gentillesse, leur bonne humeur et leur disponibilité à toute heure. Ils nous ont fait sentir comme chez nous et ont contribué à faire de ce séjour un souvenir inoubliable. Si vous cherchez un endroit à Siargao où l'ambiance et l'humain comptent autant que le cadre, foncez ! Je repartirai les yeux fermés. It's not only about the place it's the people !! Best hostel in Siargao. Staff are so nice and make sure everyone is welcome and included. Great events every night, perfect place to meet new friends. Would definitely stay here again.

Le personnel est très sympathique, les lits sont très grands et confortables.

Gros problème avec les douches : il n’y avait jamais d’eau chaude et parfois le jet du pommeau de douche ne fonctionnait pas du tout, en plus du fait qu’il n’y a ni shampoing ni gel douche …. Les prises dans les chambres ne marchaient pas non plus

Super lively and social! Great food at the restaurant and nice pool table. Walkable to some good restaurants and they offer some good tours. Pool was nice with beanbags for sunbathing!

I was in a 12 bed mixed dorm and it was extremely cramped. I didn’t get given a locker so had to put my stuff on the floor but looked like everyone wasn’t using there lockers so was tricky to move around in the room. The bathrooms were a bit gross in the mornings as you can imagine but I did see cleaning staff all the time, I’m just an early riser.

The pool area is fun and a nice place to hang out.

Both the hostel reps and select staff were rude and made us as guests feel unwelcome. The reps in particular made no effort to welcome us (unless you were targeted as a love interest). This resulted in our group to spend time away from the hostel to avoid the weird cliquey vibe they brought to the hostel. The reps only approached us when accusing my friends of being involved in hostel “gossip and drama”, which made them feel uncomfortable with staying in the hostel. Harriet in particular was very unprofessional, who singled out one of my friends and directly approached her on our last night of the stay and accused her of the above. I’ve stayed in numerous hostels in Asia and have never come across of a group of reps like the ones at mad monkey Siargao. Please remind your reps and staff the importance of company and host etiquette and professionalism as the face of the brand.

I loved the vibes the reps/staff gave out!! Especially Marco and Yannick. They made my experience the best!

El Personal, al segundo día me cambiaron de cama, las camas de arriba, tiene el locker arriba en el techo es totalmente incómodo.

Se me perdió mi short de baño, y no tuve una respuesta consistente, las Cámaras no llegaron al ver al colgador de ropa, porque había una puerta abierta Vaya casualidad de la vida !

Location, most of the Philippines crew was really unhappy. Prices of the bar was extremely high.

Niks, moesten weg om 1uur snachts omdat er bedbugsen waren. Geen hulp niks ( en het was op 30 december.. zoek dan nog maar een nieuw verblijf.. )

Ik hou niet van slechte reviews schrijven maar dit was echt 3x niks…. Echt echt verschrikkelijk, er waren bedbugs. Hadden beloofd dat we een vergoeding terug kregen kwamen hier later op terug. We stonden om half 1 snachts met onze hele kamer dakloos op straat doordat in de bedden bedbugs zaten. Ontzettend goor. De “eigenaar manager was mega onbeleefd en respectloos tegen ons toen we later terugkwamen voor de vergoeding van de wasmachine etc. ( we moesten kleding wassen ivb met de bedbugsen ) hebben we uiteindelijk zelf moeten betalen. Mega slordig. De manier hoe de manager tegen ons sprak was echt niet oke.

The social vibe was really good, met so many great people here, although it is a party the hostel its always optional. Best reps here Cameron and Katy from Canada make everyone feel welcome and show a good time, best Mad monkey around.

Super sociable Hostel. A great place to meet other people. The evening events were okay to band groups together and we met some sound people.

1) We weren’t informed about ongoing construction to our dorms when we arrived and was put in a faulty room under repair. The door didn’t close properly, walls were poorly insulated straw (unlike friends’ in block 1 who’s rooms were plaster rooms), and the AC was broken and leaking, stuck at 17°C, making nights freezing. Beds were unstable (stilts and plywood), so any movement shook the whole room. With nights out encouraged by staff, many of us became ill from lack of sleep and cold conditions from this room. Staff refused compensation and offered another unfinished room that still smelled of fresh paint which they agreed couldn’t be given to us… 2) The showers were awful and smelled so bad constantly. Compared to other hostels in the Philippines, this felt poorly built and unhygienic. 3) Staff were unfriendly and focused on cash grabs. A service charge was added to every single drink or food order instead of a tab. Drinks were overloaded with local alcohol to the point they weren’t even drinkable… 4) The hostel is far from General Luna and main attractions (around a 40–45 min drive). The surrounding area has very little to do, making the location inconvenient and not as advertised.

Las instalaciones muy buenas y limpias. En las habitación aire acondicionado a tope, no pasabas calor. Los lavabos limpios y prácticos con agua caliente y buena presión.

Es necesario moto o tuktuk para desplazarte al centro de General Luna.

The only good thing about this place is that you mingle with a variety of nationalities and nice solo-travellers that make your stay in Siargao much more diverse.

If only I could state a few... 1. Their 12-bed doors resemble a prison cell, with an obvious lack of space and very limited cleaning in the rooms. 2. Their AC was fully functioning all night.. imagine having to fight with other prisoners to disconnect the AC as you are getting really sick (you get me). 3. Their laundry service was an absolute disaster, they lost several clothes for me and my friends. 4. Their staff was non-efficient and lacks any kind of sympathy or willingness to help. 5. You were lucky if you found a shower with hot water... and more importantly, that poured enough water for it to call it a normal shower. 6. The swimming pool seemed to not being cleaned since 10 years ago. 7. The rooms seemed to be undergoing continuous renovation (more than preservation, it seemed to be fixing topics). You could even hear rats during the night. In summary, if you want to have a nice stay in Siargao with your friends, please avoid this hostel. I never write reviews but this time I had to really speak up for the worst experience I had sleeping outside my house....

It was pretty chill to be a party hostel, i was very comfortable all the time qith the amount of party i wanted to have, and we really enjoyed staying there.

It’s near General Luna

It was dirty. I stayed there for six days, and they never changed my sheets even once. It was very unsanitary and unhygienic.

Close to the beach, surf spots. It has a pool and a bar. Very social, lots of friendly people. I misplaced my little Bose speaker, someone found it and kept it safe at reception. I was fortunate.

I lost a sandal...that was my fault. Ha ha

You are sleeping outside, the rooms are not sealed. I came home after a night out and there was a gecko in my bed. The rooms and facilities was very dirty! Wouldn’t stay here even for the social - so many other options for hostel near by and this isn’t even the cheapest ( it should be)

It is extremely social, loved all the staff super accommodating. Big shoutout to the volunteer Laura who made me feel so at home I ended up extending my stay multiple times. Will be returning for sure !!

The staff are super friendly and accommodating especially Lala and Nica. I loved the nightly events in the hostel hosted by Laura. The vibes here are cool and got to meet new friends too.

Everything. The location. It is quiet with access to the bar areas through local vehicles. Bar that serves delicious food and cocktails Pool that is perfect for chilling and cooling off after a day in the beach or exploration. Nightly activities that makes ways for guests to socialize. special shout out to Georgina who creates a very friendly atmosphere among the guest. Laura too,

It’s a party hostel so despite the staff’s reminder for no sex in dorms, it still happens. Also, long shower lines during rush hours.

Was fun making friends but bathrooms were not clean

No lamp on my bed, no electricity in my room, bed not made, and construction work all day long (noise) I did a lot of Mad Monkey but this one was bad.

Very horrible odors inside the rooms. It smells like moldy paint and even more mold. It smells like they painted over the mold and it’s very unhealthy. You’ll leave that place with a cough for a few days. Very unhealthy very unsanitary.

Good vibes, Julie was good at hosting the nightly events and let us play our music which made us stay drinking and eating longer in the hostel. She was also a very good host for the boat party and handled 30 drunk guests very well

We had a blast staying at Mad Monkey Siargao! The dorm was really comfy, and everything was nice and tidy. What made our stay a 10 out of 10 was definitely the crew behind Mad Monkey, with a special shout-out to Julie who made it truly outstanding. She gave us the best tips to have an amazing experience in Siargao. She was always upbeat and enthusiastic and is undoubtedly the best boat tour guide you could wish for!

Some of the staff friendly and attentive! They turn off music at 10 which I think is great for guests who don’t want to go out. Really big beds.

Honestly, it felt like I was on a school trip. They give you a whole speech on the microphone about all the rules, no sex, no toilet roll in the toilet etc. It was really cringe and disruptive. I understand having hostel rules, but we are told them when we check in anyway. Chanting about free shots at the bar, everyone giving really judgmental and unfriendly vibes, not great food, all of it was just quite disappointing. 50 pesos to rent a towel and considering the price I think it should be included.

Only 1 shower worked during my stay! It was horrible for this money I spent! Also the rooms are smelling worse. Never stayed in such a bad mad monkey hostel
