Breakfast staff were not super helpful and had a piece of toast which it looked insipid and like a blowtorch had been used. Banged head on shower head. (Im 5’11”)Too low. Would have given even higher score if not for slight breakfast issues.

Apart from the initial unfriendly greeting on booking in, the rest of the time the staff were very pleasant. The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of town. The dog was allowed in most parts of the pub and restaurant.

On arrival there was an error with our booking (they thought we were bringing a baby, we had booked for our dog) Room was dark small and dingy. window overlooked a messy roof. Nothing like the photos on their or booking.com website. Shower room was tiny and in need of repair. Water wasn't draining from the shower tray and there were holes in the wall. Food from the restaurant was average pub food and breakfast was fairly basic.

The location in the centre of Cirencester is perfect. The breakfast caters for all. The bed was extremely comfortable. Dinner was out of this world with great service.

The titles in the bathroom need replacing. The shower head needs cleaning out or replacing and the drain didn't take away all of the water.

Everything, the room was lovely. The bed was so comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional, with so much to choose from and the staff were amazing.

There was nothing to not like about this hotel.

Shabby, wallpaper falling off the walls and ceilings in the bedroom and corridors, wallpaper and plaster hanging off the walls in the restaurant, cheap pillows, very very tired, we were informed it was due for a refurb, the cost was excessive, the breakfast included one of the smallest pieces of bacon I have ever been served, cherry tomatoes cold and not grilled, poor value for money.

The place itself is lovely with different seating and dining areas and the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Our room was upgraded which I assume meant there was more space. However, the bedroom ceiling pak t needs redoing and the bathroom pai t was cracked an pedli g in a few places and the shower tiles were dirty with black on the corners where the moisture sits.

All the staff we met were so friendly. The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Location in the centre of Cirencester made it perfect for exploring the shop’s, cafes and market.

The location is great, right on the High Street, very convenient for the town. (You might need ear plugs if your room overlooks the High Street, as ours did.) The room and beds were comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast.

The shower head in our room was very low, anyone over 5’8’’ would really struggle to use it.

Very central in an old building. Staff was lovely, helpful and friendly. Room was cosy.

Room was clean however the duvet, mattress cover and bedsheets had stains (not small ones) and bedsheet had a whole in one of the corner. It made the overall experience less nice. Still recommend it!

Access hard for old parents who are struggling walking... I should of checked first NO hot water for nearly 2 days NO air conditioning for the time there in mid 30 degree days and nights

Most breakfast options were egg based. When my wife asked for scotch pancakes they didn’t have any. Personally I’d say full English was great and I got extra black pudding when I said I liked it.

The Hotel is in a perfect location, right in the heart of town. I thought that parking would be a problem but it wasn't. The staff are very pleasant and a special mention to Laura, who left a lovely note and chocolates in our room as I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary.. Unfortunately didn't try the restaurant as we were booked into the Farmers dog, but looked lovely, Breakfast was great, so absolutely no complaints at all We will be back

We overall liked it but it felt a little run down for a 5 star hotel and the bed was a bit soft.

I am used to having limited options sometimes as a vegan but I was actually a bit upset with breakfast at the fleece! Nothing on the menu was labelled so I had no idea what was vegan and what wasn't. There was no actual vegan option, the veggie sausages weren't even vegan, so I asked about avocado and they still had go check it wasn't mixed with anything dairy as its pre smashed! No vegan spread. I hate having to ask so many questions, and ended up with a bit of avocado and a tiny pot of cold beans with a piece of toast. Just wasn't worth paying for a breakfast. Granola, pastries etc weren't even labelled so I had no idea what i could and couldn't eat. Would be great if they could provide some basic options for people who eat plant-based and just label their menu and food!

This is a lovely hotel in a really good location. The staff are super friendly. We loved our stay but have only marked this as a 9 because of the lack of a lift to get to the top levels. We knew this was the case before our visit and we work around it by dividing luggage into smaller cases for our stay. We would absolutely stay at The Fleece again if we find ourselves in the Cirencester area. Thanks to all for attributing to our lovely vacation.

Just the issue of no lift for the upper rooms. Of course this is a very old building and a lift probably couldn’t be fitted easily. The hotel makes you aware that there is no lift and very few parking spaces. You can work around these issues.

The pub/hotel is right on the centre of Cirencester - so perfect for exploring. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very efficient and helpful.

The room was rather tired and needed some TLC. Requested a quiet room but it faced a courtyard - due to the weather being so warm we had to have the windows open so some noise from people having drinks in the courtyard.

Heel fijn hotel in een prachtige locatie bij de Cotswold. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers zijn mooi en comfortabel. Het restaurant is zowel voor ontbijt als diner echt een aanrader.

Het enige nadeel is dat de oude houten vloeren enorm kraken, dus je zult gasten in andere kamers er overheen horen lopen. Als je daar tegen kunt is er echter geen probleem met dit hotel.

The property is very nice and clean right in the centre of Cirencester. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant / bar is a great place to have a drink and looks out on to the market square. Breakfast was also lovely and was a nice setting.

The rooms are a little small and very warm as there is no aircon. Whilst the hotel is very central it also means that there is a lot of noise outside at a weekend given the windows needed to be open.

Stayed one night . Room was very dated . It was a hot night and no air conditioning. Had the windows open . Front of hotel so traffic noise and constant noise from people in the street until the early hours . Not a good night sleep despite the comfy bed . Breakfast was average . Staff were very friendly .Room could do with decoration as it is looking past its best . If we return I would ask for a quieter room .

Excellent location in the town centre, very chilled dining area - great sunday roast real value for money !

We stayed one night. Our en suite was very small, on the front of the hotel. We did not sleep well due to traffic noise and loud voices in the street below until the early hours. In addition the toilet flush was not working as it should. We hope this didn't affect other guests. Both issues were reported on departure. Our experience was otherwise very good and the quality of food and staff service was very good.

Very limited parking, public car park very close by, which is an expensive add on to the cost of your stay, potential for a deal to be done with local council!?

Came here for dinner, service was great as was the food!

Locatie is geweldig en heerlijke typisch Engelse sfeer in hele hotel, met veel kleine en lage gangen en op en af trappetjes.

Kamer was toch echt stuk kleiner dan op website foto’s werd weergegeven……

The Fleece at Cirencester is the best from the hotel receptionists to the bartenders at the pub. I highly recommend if not staying at this hotel, eating or having a pint there once or twice! The location is wonderful and sitting out front people watching or meeting new people at the pub was lots of fun.

The entrance and stairwell up to the room are in need of decoration and a more welcoming environment. Room 2 that was described as a Signature room was tired, although a good size, the carpet was coveted in stains, the sink and the shower cubicle both had cracks in them and the grouting in the shower cubicle had seen better day. The window looked out on a wall and the room was very dark.

Rooms, corridors etc cramped and felt more like a 3 star hotel than the 5 stars it has been accredited with. Food was average at best- poor breakfast and coffee. Had to send sandwich back at lunchtime- inedible bread

We purchased a Signature room for £185. The room was small, nothing like the website images, dirty walls, dirty shower and heavily chipped skirting and window paint. We raised this issue and were moved rooms - to the one on the website photos. This second room was bigger, brighter and cleaner but still quite tired with holes in walls where fixtures had been moved. Dirty glasswear and food bowls on a hallway windowsill upstairs in the corridors when we checked in and again when we left. Housekeeping and management of the hotel sleeping section needs improving. Breakfast - included in our stay was mediocre at best. We were the 3rd table in the room yet it took over 30mins to get scrambled and poached eggs. Wait staff apologised for the delay saying the kitchen staff had incorrectly made the food. When it arrived, the order was still incorrect. We were offered sauce to go with our breakfast, after 5mins of waiting, we went to find 1 of the 2 wait staff to ask for it again. The wait staff asked us if we were staying again so they could try to fix breakfast next time. Clearly aware of the poor quality of things. The focus seems to be on the downstairs pub and passing trade and not staying customers. We would not be staying again.

We called into The Fleece, on the off chance, for something to eat, as we are from Merseyside and not familiar with local pubs and restaurants in Cirencester. All of my family thought that the setting was lovely - and the food was exceptional. We chose a selection of exquisite tapas from the specials menu; delicious and glad to see local suppliers being used too. We were served by Israel, who was the perfect host and really kind and accommodating to us. Well done, The Fleece!

Lack of air conditioning( although they did provide a big fan). It was extremely hot. I couldn't sleep. We'll visit in the Spring, Autumn and Winter in the future.

La ubicación y el diseño de la habitación, sin duda lo mejor

La terraza que tienen para cenar tenía muy buena pinta pero estaba en un estado lamentable. La enorme cantidad de perros que se ven en Inglaterra, imagino. Los asientos roídos y rotos, daba asco sentarse a cenar. Nos tuvimos que ir al hotel de enfrente, con un jardín Maravilloso(The Close Hotel)

Location was very good. Bar area and outside drinking and seating area very nice.

Thought bedroom was very dark. I know it is an old property but we didn't realize there wasn't a lift even though I did tell the hotel we needed a table with space for a push chair for our evening meal. The breakfast was cold and the bread had to be changed as it was covered in mold. Although it was changed it put off our breakfast.

We go out for breakfast every week, and today we tried The Fleece. Wow! This will be our new favourite place to go. Lovely setting, beautifully decorated inside, seats in the sun out the front and in the shade in the courtyard terrace at the back. Very welcoming and friendly staff, exceptional service, and the food! Outstanding value and quality. Very impressed… thank you for a lovely brunch

Personalen var jättetrevliga, maten, väldigt mysigt i puben beergarden.

Det var var 28 grader när checkade in på eftermiddagen. Vårt rum nr 8 var då som en bastu. Öppet fönster och fläkt hjälpte inte förren 03:00, då hade det blivit svalare. En av oss var tvungen att gå ned till innegården, beergarden och sitta där flera timmar då det var svalt där. Rekommenderar inte detta boende en varm dag med risken att få ett varmt rum. Gå dit ta en pint och ät gott, men bo någonstans.

The room was really hot because of the heatwave and air circulation wasn't great. The fan tried it's best . But we loved everything else and the room was soooo lovely.

Escorted a wheelchair bound friend for lunch at The Fleece. Staff, in particular Ruby, were extremely helpful & caring & all with a smile. Highly appreciated by my friend in the wheelchair & wants to return.

During the heatwave the attic rooms were simply too hot. Aircon in a listed building like this is going to be borderline impossible but I don’t think they should use those rooms in extreme temperatures

Our room was tiny, as was the ensuite. It was so hot and the windows bearly opened. They did provide a fan, but it just moved warm air around. The wc seat was loose, moving around during use. A security alarm kept going on and off during the night, so impossible for a good night's sleep. Its on the high street though, so you'd expect some noise.
