Nice place to stay. Rooms were an ample size, bright and clean. Plumbing was a little dated

Not much. It is an older building among Victorian buildings, as such, accept some limitations.

Great location, clean rooms. There’s no designated parking and the streets were very crowded with cars so the gentleman offered to find a spot and park our vehicle for us. Much appreciated!

No microwave in the room and no continental breakfast offered.

Nowhere to park we had to park about two blocks away and chose to leave our suitcases behind so carried our stuff in a bag. Didn’t care for the sheets on the bed. They had those little balls that she’s get when they get old.

La chambre était très ordinaire et désuète.. Les rideaux étaient manquants alors il ne faisait pas très noir la nuit. On entendait des bruits des autres chambres car c'est un vieil immeuble. C'était un peu cher pour cette chambre, deux lits doubles pas de vue 353$.

My wife and I spent a very comfortable night at the Smugglers Inn hotel as a stopping point on a fly-drive of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of town within easy walking distance to the waterfront and a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. Although the hotel does not provide meals there is a wide variety of eating establishments within easy walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Car parking was available close to the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location in the center of town by the waterfront. Walk to everything. BONUSE: They had a parking space right out front to park and unload / load luggage and their own parking lot around the corner. Elevator. Coffee machine in the room. Lovely couple run the place!

Found the king suite spacious and convenient with the full kitchen. There was no window view as advertised, only the street below. Had a balcony, but there was a 6' privacy barrier limiting view. Price is on the steeper side of what would be reasonable for comparable Inns. Hostess was awesome and very helpful. Note: A/C services multiple rooms and may error code if another room has heat on.

Enjoyed a lovely two-night stay - the room was very comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and it’s in a great location within the great town of Lunenburg.

Lunenberg is very charming and this Inn is in a perfect location. Fabulous bookstore next door

There was no breakfast but the location was great! We really liked the common area on the 3rd floor. It was a nice area to relax and chat.

There is no parking at the hotel. There are a few spots a half block away. Metered parking in front of hotel that requires an app to use. Circled the block several times and did not find any empty parking spots. Finally able to stop in front of hotel long enough to unload luggage and staff directed us to the place to park half a block away. When booked, we were under the impression the hotel had a restaurant and breakfast on site. They did not. Even though there is an elevator, the third floor still had steps to navigate. There is no place in the bathroom to put your personal toiletries. Walls in room are very thin.

Proximity to the waterfront, many restaurants and shops. The bed was very comfortable and the a/c the quietest!

The price was a bit steep considering it didn't include breakfast or parking.

The room was relatively spacious, though the bathroom was a tight squeeze. The windows opened which was wonderful! The duvets on the beds were so warm and the pillows lovely and soft. The room was quiet.

The mechanism to turn the bath and shower water is very stiff. The lady of the inn did offer to show it how to use it.

Third floor away from elevator or don’t bother. We were on second floor. People stomping overhead.

Well located hotel with on street parking. There is a lift for your cases but still some steps at the front and when you exit the lift. The owners were very nice and helpful. Our room was spacious and well equipped, although the air con was very noisy. We stayed there on a very hot day/night so although we opened the door onto the small balcony, our room was really warm. The only plug socket we could find was by the door. We had breakfast at the two nearby bakeries, one opens at 08.00 and the other is open but doesn't have any baked goods until around 08.00, so tey elsewhere if you neeed an early start. Lunenberg was a lovely town.

It was clean and close to Peggys Cove. We felt it was pricey for the accommodations. Would not choose to stay here in the future.

The carpet could do with a steam clean and the young girl (black hair) that checked us in was super unfriendly and rather unhelpful. My staff rating would’ve been lower but the lady working on the Sunday morning was super helpful and friendly so seemed unfair to have her associated with a low rating.

The room was in an excellent location and the team working the front desk and housekeeping were very friendly.

A wonderful stay at Smugglers Cove Inn. Michael and Rita are outstanding hosts -- they treated us like family and Michael even gave us a walking tour of the area that was spectacular. A real community feel, thanks to them! And the room, overlooking the harbor, was a perfect vantage point.

A lovely room with an amazing view but let down by the quality of the bedding. Maybe time to retire the sheets, they were well worn and very bobbly, like sleeping on sandpaper? But that’s easily fixed. Other than that a fabulous hotel in a beautiful location.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only issue was a lack of designated parking so we had to park on the street at a meter. It was okay for one night but would have been a hassle if we stayed longer.

We stayed intheir other building across the street called the Concordia. Large room and great location.

Checking in was both smooth & pleasant. Room was clean, comfortable & well appointed. Room & washroom amenities were more than adequate. Location is fantastic. Many good restaurants just steps away from the hotel. Sushi by the Cove which is attached to the hotel has an excellent Japanese menu. Highly recommended!

Great location, everything is nearby. Comfortable, clean king room....but tiny bathroom with minuscule shower. (2' x 3') Might be fine for one person! Lovely staff and very helpful with on street parking. Be careful in booking, and ask for a room with a view, and larger bathroom!

For the cost it was highway robbery. Very small rooms including bathroom outdated decor . Nothing special for over $300! Location was good.

Nice hotel and great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was difficult to find though. Conditioner should be available besides just shampoo.

Room was clean and comfortable, complimentary water and coffee in main lobby. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Hallways and common areas could use a good cleaning / paint , replacement of carpets.

The carpet throughout the place was badly stained- hallway, stairs, lounge and room. Bed was acceptable. They did help with parking, since there is not lot for the inn. Some kind of equipment caused the floor to actually vibrate, but it did stop by 10P, then quiet.

2 nights in this delightful hotel right in the heart of historic Lunenburg. Very comfortable king room with balcony , almost silent but very effective air con . Next door to bakery which is excellent when open but does not open as it’s displayed opening times state . Which was a negative as the hotel recommended it and we planned an early breakfast at their displayed opening time of 7 am : seems they don’t bother to open till 8-8.30 so imagine that business won’t last long ! Therefore my only negative comment about the hotel is that reception recommend the bakery knowing how unreliable they are . Nevertheless delightful hotel , lovely friendly and helpful staff

Stairs by elevator not easy with suitcases

Location and staff were brilliant. A really easy walk onto the harbour and shops/restaurants are literally on the doorstep. The facilities are functional and suited for an overnight stay. It's not high end but it doesn't need to be for a short break.

Parking is tricky but the staff are really helpful. The double beds are a small double but perhaps choosing a queen or king room would have been a more suitable option.

Perfect spot to walk to restaurants, ships, horse drawn carriages etc:). Clean! Excellent bakery right next door! Highly recommend!!

The owner was lovely and this older building has been kept up beautifully. My only suggestions is to perhaps replace the mattress in our room as it wasn’t very comfortable . I would definitely recommend this place and the location was perfect for what we wanted.

Smugglers Cove Inn is conveniently located in downtown Lunenburg NS with close access to restaurants and shops. The hotel was average. I would recommend clarifying on booking if you are in the main inn or across the street in the Concordia Inn. We were not aware that we were booked across the street in a much run down building. The sheets were pilled and scratchy, the ceilings were water stained and peeling, and the window blinds did not close. Our sink did not drain well and had no plug. This is not a 4 star hotel - I cannot speak to the Smugglers Inn building - however the Concordia needs major upgrades.

The parking

Great location but no parking provided and on street paid parking is the only option during the daytime. Room was adequate but very hard mattress, no microwave, tiny bathroom and tired decor.

The very first picture that they show for this property on Expedia is one right on the water. What that photo is, is not the hotel and for an unseasoned traveller like myself, I didn’t know it wasn’t the hotel or it’s property. I didn’t realize that the property itself was much further. And I paid for a waterfront view, thinking it was an actual waterfront view, but what I got was a sliver of waterfront view that was in between two buildings that you could barely see the waterfront and it was behind a bunch of trucks that were parked there because it’s a parking and loading area. The hotel was not worth the money. I could’ve stayed in much better places in Lunenburg and paid less. The owners are very nice. The amenities are all old and I couldn’t even find an ice machine. I would never stay there again.
