Staff were excellent and the Breakfast was well presented.
No EV chargers, had to go to another hotel to charge my car. The bulb was gone in the light in the bedroom (RM104) A sliding door on the bathroom which can't be locked is not very private. The net curtain at the window had a brown stain on it which looked like it had been there a while.
Staff were amazing so helpful and nice
Rooms are dated not like pictures we had booked a delux double and the toilet wouldn’t flush. We then got downgraded to a twin room due to availability which was disappointing considering the price we had payed and had to pack up and move everything late at night. The next room proceeded to have no phone in it to call reception. Upon arrival in the original room we had booked room service which they forgot about and took an hour to come after we had contacted reception again. Food at the bar wasn’t great , waiter and bar staff were lovely but food was disappointing and we left it behind. In the spa the jacuzzi wasn’t working . The receptionist at checkout did give us a small compensation but considering the money we had spent on a ‘four star’ hotel it was overall very disappointing
Spa facials booked for 2 people. It was very relaxing. The spa area was well maimed and relaxing. We were made aware that the jacuzzi was out of order. Advised it may be fixed by second day but this didn’t happen. We found it it had been out of order for some time. That was a bit disappointing.
No mini fridge available in room. Would have thought this would have been a requirement with the hot weather.
Nice staff, facilities, rooms and location

Rooms were very dated and need modernised
Location was great, hotel was clean, staff were friendly. The bar food was lovely and the bar itself was nice and relaxed.
The rooms are very basic, for the price we paid I expected something a little more special. The tv in the room didn't have access to anything only saorview free channels. We booked a table in the restaurant and we were very disappointed with it, menu was very restricted, empty glasses left sitting on our table after fresh drinks were brought down to us, food wasn't great compared to the food offered in the bar.
Everything, the peace and quiet. Its the ideal location. Always a pleasure to stay in this hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very clean. I give this hotel 11/10
Comfortable bed
First room we were given was old, shabby and smelled so strongly of cleaning fluids we couldn’t stay in it. The staff were helpful and moved us to a much better room. The room also only had one key which was annoying if myself and my friend wanted to go our separate ways. Overpriced for what we got!!
breakfast brilliant room lovely food for a coeliac was very good. All staff had a good understanding of the importance of getting it right.
I loved the food and the breakfast the staff were very nice
I. Liked very thing it was great hotel
Beautiful hotel well run Great location
Not a lot
Great location, short walk into Westport
Rooms old fashioned particularly the bathrooms which were old and not very clean
Good location , excellent breakfast and lovely staff
Long queues to get into breakfast
I liked the lobby area, the leisure centre and gym
Rooms are outdated, needs a freshen up, bathroom toilet handle wasnt working properly. The service in the restaurant was very slow. The food is average. Breakfast is disorganised and over crowded. Light switches in the room didnt work properly. The restaurant is over bright, its meant to be a calming environment? Also a nice touch would be a small candle on the table. I wasnt impressed overall and I am not going back.
The spa facilities are under construction - there was no jacuzzi, only a pool
Staff were excellent. They couldn't do enough for you.
Senior staff were amazing particularly the Manager Rick who sorted a very bad dining experience with grace and generosity. Beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean.
Unfortunately this is a good hotel which is very tired in its decor and facilities. The pool and spa area was great to keep children occupied but was not a comfortable adult space, which was a major disappointment as I booked particularly with that in mind. We had a horrendous experience ordering food in the bar. Waiting staff were badly let down by poor food prep and presentation from the kitchen. A raw steak sandwich was returned to the kitchen, was then returned totally overdone. My daughter was ill through the night after eating it. My fish and chips were inedible and returned. Batter was greasy and falling off the fish, which was so solid it looked and cut like chicken. Obviously frozen and not fresh as described in the menu. Horrendous end to a wonderful 4 days in Co Mayo where the restaurants in Ballina (Poachers) and Westport (Friends)were flawless. The Beehive cafe on Achill Island also had stunning fresh food, putting the Wesport Woods to shame.
Staff really lovely- even under the pressure of a very busy holiday period .
Watching the young staff in the breakfast lounge lift excessively heavy trays of crocks to clear dining tables .
Plenty of parking, this is a big hotel and wedding venue. Lots of families and coach trips staying. The pool and spa facilities are part of the leisure centre so open to the public. I didn't try it so can't comment. Big room with comfy bed. It has a big bar area and music on alternate nights. Outside seating area at the back of the property. Breakfast had good choice. 20min walk into Westport with shop, bars etc. We ate in Giovanna's italian which was very nice and M J Hobans pub, also good. 10min walk the other way takes you to the Quay with more bars, boat trips and a shop with great ice creams. If you cycle there is a route called The Greenway from Westport to Newport on a dedicated cycle way, good for everyone. It is 20km each way. Cafes and bars in Newport.
Sink was cracked and stained as the tap is dripping/running all the time.
Great breakfast, lovely friendly staff
Got a roast dinner in the bar it was like a child's portion, food was lovely but portion size very disappointing. Shower in room 122 not great.
Most things were good. Meals were ok.
Unfortunately the bathroom was a serious let down if not a health issue. I have attached photos. Really not good enough, a handy man could sort this at very little cost. Really needs immediate attention. It really could stop customers returning.
Breakfast was excellent! Lots of options, and lovely friendly staff. Even obliged with an earlier Breakfast on one morning.
Barfood on the Friday night was disappointing. Hate complaining, but honestly was not great. One dish was cold, the other really poor quality. In fairness, when we asked for the one to be replaced/reheated, we were gobsmacked when offered a drink from the bar as an apology - very decent altogether.
It is false advertising, we were given a room that looked 100 years dated to the rooms advertised. We complained. They kindly upgraded up to the only suite they have (the one from the photos). This will not happen to everyone.
No shower gel in the refillable pot in the shower. Coffee pods that didn’t fit the machine and tv didn’t work in the room (didn’t connect to WiFi ie tv cast, YouTube, Netflix so only have 5 channels). We told reception and they didn’t do anything about it despite saying they would sort it. Breakfast was okay and food fine, nothing good or bad. screaming kids everywhere and parents didn’t bat an eyelid. Spa gym and pool so dated and old. Overall really disappointing
Very happy with our stay
Cobwebs in the lights ,loose screws in some doors these are minor issues i only mention them for your convenience
Nice foyer
Very underwhelming, 1 key (not card) for double room????, bedroom decor completely outdated, stingy attitude to. supply of basic normal room requirements,(1 and a half rolls of single ply toilet tissue, roll call at entrance door at 11.30 pm for payed up guests?,?? slow checkin, changed to different room which was fully occupied when we opened the room door. etc, etc Some staff helpful others on check in desk anything but. All in all not a patch on the Plaza or Atlantic Coast in Westport and they should really have a look at the outstanding Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan and see how things should really be done. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE STYLISH FOYER.
Nice hotel....friendly staff.
Breakfast was a bit disorganised and not a great selection. Bathroom was clean but was very dated ....stepping into a bath to take a shower isn't very practical or safe when you are on in years.
First time staying for one night only and everything was just perfect. Enjoyed especially my swim in the pool and we both enjoyed a great breakfast. Thank you 👍
Friendly staff, facilities and location
No WIFI!!! On the basement floor, Zone 2, there is zero WiFi in the rooms, I tried my phone and then a mobile WiFi router and nothing Food, really poor. Cheese and bacon were added to my bill for the Burger which wasn't explained whilst taking the order
Food and staff were both great
Couldn't get a wifi in room
We we enjoey the large suit , very much extra large bed, private, straight beside swimminpool, beautiful breakfast just little distance away from city centre, sauna steam room swimminpool entertainment on both nights during the week
The staff were friendly and eager to help guests. The hotel is in a great location. Breakfast options are comprehensive with lots of staff milling about to help.
Our bathroom was dilapidated and in need of refurbishment. The front entrance of the hotel is gorgeous but the bedrooms and the bathrooms are tired. Our bath leaked - the service guy was on to it straightaway but the bath screen just wasn't wide enough to hold back all the shower water.
Its a charming hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff are completely lovely people.
There was nothing at all to dislike.
Pleasant staff, great room and facilities
Prices in the bar, more expensive than Dublin !
Nice location walking distance of the town big Bar area food was tasty and lovely grounds.
Very little definitely would stay there again but just happen to be over the room where there was a wedding on so that made it a bit noisy but I did say that reception when I was checking out and they took give me a discount which was very good gesture
Way over priced, very disappointing Also, too far out of the town
Not value for money
We had a great time at the Westport Woods. We booked the dinner bed and breakfast package for 2 nights. The room was comfortable and the hotel has a good ambiance about it with a mixture of experienced staff and newbies . The breakfast was very good and on the first night the evening meal was excellent but alas on night 2 we had the Indian Curry which had 2 full peppers cut up with a spoonful of rice, a small bit of sauce and 1 popadom, I left most of it as I loathe peppers, I didn’t complain as I didn’t like hassle! The chowder was on the cool side but tasted good and the cheesecake was good too! All in all the experience was good with only one piece of advice. Stay away from the curry!
Breakfast good friendly staff
Our room was very dusty lots of dust on the phone and light above phone dirt on net curtains also carpet badly stained ,mirror in room dusty 😢
The food at the dinner was very poor, for the price . Overcooked beef and spaghetti bolognese was horrible. The whole place needs a serious update as the windows are dirty , carpets are dirty. No shampoo or conditioner in leisure centre and leisure centre is quite dirty . Staff were nice and location was great. Very obvious that the restaurant and bar are understaffed as everyone had to wait ages to be served in bar . Pity as the place has such potential
Compfort
No aircondition
I had the most wonderful experience with Patricia in The Spa. She is truly gifted. I had the best massage. It was so good I had to go back the next day for a seaweed bath. It was pure heaven. If it wasn't so far away I would be going to the spa and Patricia on a regular basis. We also used the pool. It was just lovely. We found it very relaxing and comfortable.
Cleanliness atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable too
We both had fish and chips in the bar. The fish was tasteless and it kept repeating on both of us all evening Breakfast was lovely with great options
Location
Evening meal not good value
Westport Woods Hotel is in a fantastic location just outside Westport but walking distance to town. Staff are exceptional and efficient, always on hand for anything. The food was really excellent and absolutely no complaints, wow is the word. My folist time staying and I would have no hesitation in going back again. Hotel was very busy and as a Kerryman it was great to visit Mayo after they winning Sam Maguire the week previously, beating my own county in the process. It was great to listen to the banter and what it means to a county like Mayo to take top honours after a 75 year wait. There is plenty to do around Westport and Croagh Patrick is only out the road.
Nothing
We are just after leaving the hotel after a beautiful 3 night stay with our two little boys. We had such an incredible time, the service, cleanliness, facilities and staff were nothing short of amazing. A special mention to Kaye in the restaurant she is a wonderful asset to the hotel and a lovely lady my two Boys adored her and she went over and beyond to ensure everyone was happy. She made sure they got their pancakes and chocolate every morning which they loved its such a great hotel for kids. Our room was lovely and it was so clean, the cleaners were so friendly and always offered extra towels etc and took time to chat to the kids. The pool was fantastic it has a toddler pool and a kids pool along with the standard one so nice and safe and it was very clean also. Food and music were both fantastic we will be back next year for definite. The breakfast each morning was beautiful so much choice and everything such lovely quality. Such a lovely bunch of staff so welcoming and friendly its really a speical place!......Thanks so much!!
The most friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. All the staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you and made us feel very welcome indeed.
The room needed updating, I was surprised by how old the bathroom was. The bedrooms need new mattress and bedding. It needs an update. The hotel itself was clean and functional. Breakfast was good and staff nice. It was just grand. €14 in an Uber into town. It seemed to have a lot of families and it probably would be good if u have little kids.
Liked the staff, the room, the dining area, the food was to die for, the receptionists were very considerate and helpful. The only thing that bothered me was the night porter who in my opinion, was anti alcohol.
The night porter, when I came back at 1.15am I asked him for a pint of Guinness, but he went away for 20 minutes. I asked for two pints, but he only gave me one. He should have served me before he dealt with his chores. He's anti alcohol, but this shouldn't make him delay serving the residents alcoholic beverages.
Clean spacious
The walk into town
The hotel is quite nice. The bedroom was fine but the bathroom really needs updating. The staff are all very friendly but we found service at times especially breakfast to be quite disjointed. Having to ask for tea and coffee, tables not fully set having to ask for milk, butter etc. Younger servers definitely need more training. The food was ok the vegetables were very repetitive on the set dinner menu. Overall we enjoyed our stay but having stayed in lots of four star hotels I find it difficult to class this hotel as four stars. The windows throughout the hotel are filthy and definitely are not regularly cleaned also the grounds are very poorly kept with weeds growing everywhere. Flowerbeds at the entrance to the hotel are even full of weeds which generates a very poor first impression.
Lovely relaxed hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Beautiful pool and jacuzzi after cycling the greenway. Foyer was relaxing. Parking ideal. Seamless from start to finish. Loads to do in westport.
My husband and I recently stayed in the Westport Woods Hotel, when we checked in we had booked the Deluxe Woodland Double room. We checked in and paid the remaining balance and were given our room. We arrived at 'our room' which was not the room we had booked but a standard room, I spoke to the receptionist who informed me that there were no Deluxe Woodland double rooms available but said she would speak to a colleague. 20 mins later a colleague came and moved us to a room I found out later was a standard family room. I went to confirm that the room was what we booked and the receptionist was extremely rude. Your staff had no problem charging us for a Deluxe Woodland Double room with no intention of providing us with it. The room we were moved into was of an extremely low quality. I have attached pictures of the room and room number for you to see. I have also attached the picture of your advertised family room which is the exact room we were given. The floor was stained. Empty coffee sachets and dirty tray. The bathroom was stained and dirty. The safe was broken so we were unable to us it. Doors - bathroom door would not shut properly, extremely stiff when locked. Main door hard to open and close. At one point we wanted to use the phone to ring reception and realised it was not even set up. We are extremely disappointed with our stay and the behaviour of some of your staff. The only positive about our experience was Kay and your restaurant staff. Kay was so friendly and efficient and always had a smile. She is an asset to your hotel.
As a family of 4 we had a wonderful experience at the Westport Woods hotel. All the staff were super helpful and friendly especially Kay at breakfast and dinner. She went above and beyond for our 2 kids. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. A 5 star experience from us and the kids. We will be back.
I stayed here for 3 nights it was awful , first night I slept on a hard mattress we had no WiFi and no smart telly telly wasn’t even working properly , the bathroom was tiny very dangerous bath you had to climb over for a shower, cold tap wasn’t even working just hot worked , told them the following morning we really needed the telly for the kids and all the other problems, we went for the day came back told problems for resolved, but still no WiFi and mattress was moved over to another bed so my husband had an uncomfortable night , we were told then they would change our room but we would have no key we would have to contact the porter anytime we needed to leave or access the room so that didn’t suit us either , I would never go back again I never experienced this in a hotel before , I was fair never ask for money back or anything
