I understand the desire to preserve the world, but certain green choices seem a bit excessive to me. I missed some comfort, as it was overly basic. I would advise at least fixing the bathrooms and replacing mattresses, pillows, and blankets.

The architecture of the hotel was very impressive. The room was very comfortable, clean and well- designed. We understood the concept of the hotel, such as protecting the environment and practicing for saving water. We enjoyed the yoga lesson in the morning and had a relaxing time. They served delicious breakfast and all the members of the staff were very kind. Thank you very much for your support!

L’authenticité du batiment, la chambre était magnifique, le personnel était trés attentionné.

Ce n’etait pas un gros problème mais la chambre pour avoir des ampoules qui eclairent un peu mieux. Mais franchement c’est un détail.

The location was good

They were not at all flexible re my change in trekking circumstances - I booked for five nights and they insisted I pay for them. Most oversea visitors are coming here to trek - we need flexibility due to changes Also no option to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room - there was a jug - nothing else

The location of house is so good with only several mins to Ason Bazar and Center of Thamel. However its still quite and peace as for its at the corner of Thamel. The house is a tipical Nuwarli architecture just very close to Durbar Square style. Its quite looking from outside and so from inside with exquisite wood carving, Courtyard and winding corridors. The room is clean and so is sheets which the most important for me when choose a hotel. People are all so nice and helpful. The guard and staff helps me many times on my heavy luggage up and down. And they also keep my luggage for some days there.

The only thing is the young lady refuse my request about checking out late for 2hrs. As a Genuis member at booking i can check out 2hrs late, but the young lady at reception refused at the beginning. She didn't agree until i show her my order on booking and ask why.

What a fabulous historical building! Truly a national treasure! And situated in the heart of Thamel. Staff were so kind and responsive to my requests.

Very beautiful building, very nice ambiance! The staff team are always so warm and helpful, and the front desk staff speaks perfect English! Breakfast is healthy and delicious 🤤 They offer free yoga class/city walk in the morning, I would recommend the walk!

Close enough to the centre of Thamel, however, there were other options closer that were easier to reach.

Vriendelijk personeel, ontbijtbuffet was in orde doch ik had er meer van verwacht, voor cappuccino of espresso moest ik bij betalen.

Bij de eerste standard kamer die ik kreeg toegewezen was er een opening in de douche deuren van 2 cm breed zodat tijdens het douchen het water in de badkamer stroomde. ik kon toen kiezen voor een andere kamer waar de opening al een beetje kleiner was maar toch voor water overlast zou zorgen. de volgende kamer was met douche gordijn , dit leek me de beste optie. de kamers zijn netjes maar beetje oubollig, geen airco maar wel een luidruchtige ventilator. het avondeten viel ook wat tegen , ik koos voor sweet & sour chicken het was een klein kommetje en voor het kommetje rijst moest ik bijbetalen.

The place is beautiful. Feels like living amidst Newari history and art. Staff is utmost courteous and responsive to our smallest needs. Restaurant staff, reception, housekeeping, everyone greeted us with a smile and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Food is also really good. Apart of first night of our stay, we mostly ate in the hotel as we realised their food is much better than nearby restaurants. Location is also great. It's right in Thamel, the heart of Kathmandu's tourist district. Lots of souvenir shops, restaurants, money changers nearby. But it's on a quiet street where you don't get the noise and hustle of the main streets which are a minute's walk away

The hotel does not have lifts and rooms don't have air conditioners. This is clearly mentioned in the listing. We didn't have any problems. But worth mentioning if someone can't do without these facilities.

Stunning hotel with traditional architecture amd lovely service. You really know you are in Nepal. Great restaurant. We have stayed here several times. Quiet street despite being in Thamel.

Everything is perfect for a traditional style of stay. A room safe would have been good.

The best hotel I stayed in Kathmandu and a perfect way to end my trip in Nepal. The staff is amazing, the building is beautiful, full of character and it feels you are on you private temple/palace, definitely go around the floors to see how beautiful this place is. The beds are super comfortable and they are an ecological hotel but without being snob about it, they will have filtered water on the rooms, and journals instead of plastic bags on the bins, simple and effective solutions. The location is 10/10, a block away from the main thamel streets but secluded enough to have a peaceful night of sleep. I also recommend their breakfast if you have time as it has a good selection and they are super attentive. The hotel offers yoga classes and a tour around the local temples but I didn't have time to try those. I 100% will be back to Kantipur in my next time in Nepal. Thank you so much to all staff that made my stay so relaxing and special!

I loved everything!

I loved the traditional brick building in the old ? Newari style. Everything was in keeping with Nepali ways. We enjoyed having breakfast in the garden. The staff were quite exceptional: highly professional yet very friendly and thoughtful and their English was amazingly good. We had one evening meal in the restaurant. Food was very good and the waiter very helpful with suggestions. The hotel is on the edge of Thamel - right in the centre of things.

The only thing which might have been a little better was the shower in our room. Although it worked well I felt that the grouting between the tiles needed a deep clean. Or perhaps replace the shower unit. Otherwise the room was very nice. Another time I’d request a room facing the garden.

Amazing historic building, friendly staff, comfy beds in large rooms and in a great neighbourhood. I would very strongly recommend this place.

環境に配慮していて好感が持てる。古いけれどしっかりメンテナンスされていて雰囲気がよい。タメル地区にありながら静かな環境。清潔なベッドでぐっすり眠れた。朝ヨガも良かった。スタッフがみな親切でホスピタリティがある。朝ごはんに作ってくれたオムレツとPuriが最高に美味しかった！

シャワーのお湯がなかなか出てこなくて焦った。お湯になるまで数分かかる。エレベーターがないのでお年寄りは大変かも。

Authentic building, clean and quiet. Quite a backyard of hustle Thamel. Spacious room, stable hot shower, the eco-conscious parts were highlights! The staff were more than helpful! Pitifully we just stayed for 2 nights and missed the yoga class. We had dinner and it was worth trying!

Kantipur Temple House is an anstonishing place. The architecture is build with a tremendous quality and attatention to detail in traditional Nepalalese classicial style. Everything is handmade and the woodcarvings is of no lesser quality than the temples is Durbari Square. The building has a relexing athmoshphere and feels otherworldy. The courtyard looks like a temple from ancient times. The staffs exeptional service make the place come alive. Thanks to Aparna, Ganesh, Arjun, Reiskumart and the rest of the staff for an amazing experience. I felt at home from the moment i got there. The original plan was to stay there for only two days, but we stayed there for a week. Other hotels pale in comparsion. To experience Kathmandu from a traditonal Hotel gives an unique experience. I hope to come back here som day. The service at this Hotel is the best I have seen. They have great medititation classes aswell.

A truly unique accommodation experience inside an ancient temple. The hotel is eco-friendly and doesn’t offer bottled water — drinking water is served in an antique iron kettle. Though the atmosphere may be a little dim, the hotel provides electric blankets, and the warm-hearted staff also prepare hot water bags and heaters for each room, so it’s not cold at all even in winter. It’s also incredibly photogenic.

El hotel es eco-friendly y sorprende el sistema de acondicionamiento tradicional de las habitaciones (estufas eléctricas y bolsas de agua caliente en la cama a la antigua usanza). Beautiful building, very sweet and helpful staff. We liked the eco friendly and yoga option though we never woke up for it. Big, nice room. They clean and replace towels quickly. Very nice experience. Great location.

Отель красивый. Персонал вежливый и старались сгладить проблемы, никаких претензий в этой части.

Отель преподносит себя как очень экологичный. Поэтому нет лифта и кондиционера. Были зимой и температура в комнате была не сильно выше температуры на улице. В кроватях были электрогрелки и какой-то плохо работающий обогреватель. Но это не спасало от постоянного холода. Горячая вода в душе была, но только после 10 минут пролива (очень экологично). Завтраки неплохие, но кофе ужасный. Нормальный можно получить только за дополнительную плату. В итоге переселились в другой отель, 50 метрах от этого. Там есть лифт, нормальный кондиционер с обогревом и хороший кофе на завтрак без ограничений. При этом цена была 50 долларов за ночь с двоих, против 75 здесь. Отель не рекомендую.

Wir hatten die Suite gebucht und das Zimmer war wirklich sehr groß. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und auch warm. Im Zimmer gab es einen E-Heizer und für das Bett gab es Heizdecken und Wärmflaschen. Warmes Wasser zum duschen war durchgehend vorhanden. Manchmal nicht so heiß, aber zum duschen hat es immer gereicht. Es gab auch einen Wasserkocher, damit wir unsere Trinkwasser abkochen konnten und keine Plastikflaschen kaufen mussten. Das Hotel ist sehr darauf bedacht, so wenig wie möglich Müll zu produzieren, was besonders bei dem Müllproblem in Kathmandu richtig Sinn ergibt. Wir haben uns jeden Morgen auf das Frühstück gefreut. Das Omlett wurde frisch zubereitet und es gab natürlich organic nepali coffee. :-) Das gesamte Hotel-Team war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hiflsbereit. Wir mussten unseren zweiten Aufenthalt wegen Krankheit umbuchen. Es hat alles prima funktioniert. Das Hotel hat sich wirklich rührend um uns gekümmert. Sie haben uns auch bei der Buchung eines Helicopters unterstützt, nachdem wir vonGetYourGuide über den Tisch gezogen wurden. Danke an das Team vom Kantipur Temple House. Wir vermissen Euch und Euer tägliches Lächeln wirklich sehr. Falls wir es tatsächlich noch einem zurück in den Nepal schaffen, werden wir wieder bei Euch einkehren. The building is very ancient, if with good team to run it, it will be a great hotel. And the location is near to Thamel.

1. There are stains on the sofa. 2. There are yellow stains inside the toilet bowl. 3. There are bloodstains on the shower curtain.

比起外面的寺廟還要更美的Kantipur Temple House，完全可以待在裡頭整天不出門。 酒店位置就在遊客區Thamel，用走的就可以到達大部分廣場、寺廟景點，沿路尼泊爾人文風情令人目不暇給；吃的喝的買的都有，非常方便有意思。早起可以上天台做個免費Yoga伸展身體～ 房間大又舒適，到訪季節是冬天但有暖爐，床有暖墊，每晚還有酒店員工送來暖水袋，整整四晚都住得非常溫暖。值得一提酒店員工友善親切，每天都會問我們今天過得怎樣，又幫忙寄明信片，吃了兩天早餐也好棒好好吃。再來加德滿都一定會再來住！謝謝🥰

the staff all very polite and friendly, will greet you and talk with you. fast respond after call to receptionist to request hair dryer/drinking water. they will send hot water bottle during night time and help to on the room heater if you're not around. the environment is very traditional and good point for photo shooting.

the property a bit too old, the exort fan in toilet is not functioning, but i didn't request to change room because it's still fine to me. and the bathroom outlet is a bit stuck, water outflow a bit slow.

The traditional Newari architecture and cultural ambience was exceptional! The staff are really supportive and friendly they made sure to check in on us every time they met us at the lobby. Location of hotel is located in central Thamel, making shopping and food-hunting extra convenient.

Расположение в историческом здании на тихой улице, удобный большой номер, национальный колорит. Вкусные завтраки, матрас с подогревом - это вообще супер-вещь ближе к зиме. Также был и обогреватель в комнате, и все остальное, что должно быть. Все очень чисто и ухожено. Приветливый персонал.

Немного слишком эко-френдли. Чайник-то можно было бы в комнате поставить. Но его не было. Лифта тоже нет, это надо иметь в виду.

Eigentlich war alles perfekt. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind wunderschön designt, das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig und zentral, das Essen im Hotel ist qualitativ sehr gut. Es gibt beheizte Matratzen , wem es zu frisch wird. Der größte positive Punkt ist das Personal. Sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und immer für einen Smalltalk zu haben. Man fühlt sich im Kantipur House wie zuhause.

Eine Ablage für Utensilien am Waschbecken wäre schön.

Dark and cold rooms. You could not read a book in the room as there was not enough light. No heat in the room. Cold taking a shower or trying to sit in the room.

- Power sockets are old and do not hold the plug properly. - No power sockets near the bed. Old mattress Windows are facing internal yard so no view and the room is quite dark even in the sunny day.

Great location in the heart of an older part of the city. I liked the yoga on the roof, the breakfast buffet, and the free walking tour.

I can’t think of anything

The Kantipur Temple House is a wonderful oasis while traveling internationally. The staff are what make this place special: they are warm, friendly, and helpful. We are at the restaurant many times and the food is excellent. The location is within walking distance of all the local attractions in Thamel. I liked this place so much that when I had an unexpected extra day before my departure home, I came back so I could see everyone and enjoy the entire experience one more time!
