A gorgeous little time warp, updated where needed. Easy transport everywhere and a great location. Staff were fantastic, the history of the place is amazing and the pool was gorgeous

Good traditional hotel with excellent staff, decent rooms, all very clean. We had a very good tasty dinner, with attentive not intrusive service, beautifully presented and very tasty. Good big pool and access to swimming platform. On the bus route to get to Ortigia or taxis are easily available.

When I arrived because I was solo, they gave me a tiny room with the worst bed imaginable. I did ask for them to change it, and they gladly and quickly did. My new room was absolutely lovely. The pool is incredible, the facilities are sparkling clean, the ambience is amazing, the hotel smells wonderful, and the breakfast is very good. The breakfast and dinner staff are absolutely lovely, as are the maids.

Even when they changed out my tiny room for a new room, the beds were subpar for what I paid. There is very little around the hotel, so I ate the same two places or the hotel restaurant. It's about a 20 minute walk into the main city center, which is not bad, but the area is pretty remote.

The swimming pool was lovely and free parking was a bonus. Reasonably good choice for breakfast.

The WIFI was terrible! Not having a kettle, tea/coffee making facilities in the room did not reflect the 4 star rating of this hotel.

No room facilities like water or tea and coffee. Paying 300 euros a night you expect some luxuries. Rooms were nice but needed a bit of a spruce up. Id say value for money just wasn't there but still a pleasant stay.

Old style property that was in immaculate condition . Poolside was good too , the restaurant was excellent and the service from the staff too was nice. Rooms were cleaned and sheets changed everyday if required .

A charming old-world hotel in a quieter location outside the main tourist area, balanced by a bus stop right outside for easy access to Ortigia, plus a lovely pool, outdoor area and great breakfast.

Wir bekamen ein kostenloses Upgrade in die Lady Clementine-Suite. Die Suite ist sehr schön und hat eine Terrasse mit Aussicht auf das Meer und die Altstadt von Syrakus (Ortigia). Das Hotel gibt es seit 1862. Es strahlt einen gediegenen Charme aus.

Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Aber wäre es auf einem top-5-Sterne-Luxus-Niveau, hätten wir es uns nicht leisten können. Was auf jeden Fall repariert werden müsste, ist die Pool-Dusche.

Het zwembad is zeer fraai. Het is een oud typisch Italiaans historisch hotel. Klassieke kamers. Goede WiFi.

Badkamer is zeer verouderd. Een verflaagje over de oude tegels is niet voldoende. In bad douchen en dan ook nog aan de schuine kant moeten staan is lastig. Lambrisering plafond viel zelfs plotseling op de grond.

Très belle découverte à Syracuse ! La Villa Politi est un hôtel magnifique, chargé d’histoire, avec beaucoup de charme et une vraie atmosphère hors du temps. La piscine est superbe, le personnel accueillant et professionnel, et le petit-déjeuner est excellent, varié et de très bonne qualité.

Les salles d’eau sont assez anciennes et mériteraient d’être rénovées pour être davantage à la hauteur du standing et du charme de l’établissement.

El hotel es de conservación y tiene linda entrada. Me gustó el trato del personal y el desayuno.

Las habitaciones son incómodas. La ducha es muy pequeña. Las habitaciones que nos fueron olían un poco a humedad. La de mamá nos tocó pedir cambio y lo hicieron. En nuestro cuarto éramos 2 personas pero solo dan una yave de tarjeta. En la piscina cobran 5 euros por cada toalla que te dan. Muy mal eso.

It’s quite far from Ortigia, about 25 minute walk. There are buses but they were a little unreliable and didn’t depart very often. We walked or took a taxi. Taxi cost about €20 to or from town.

My stay at Grand Hotel Villa Politi was truly memorable, and so much of that was because of the wonderful people who work there. A very special thank you to Sebastiano for his kindness, attentiveness, and excellent bartending skills! He has a way of making guests feel genuinely welcome and cared for. I think I can safely speak for the customers—and probably the staff too—when I say that hospitality is truly where Sebastiano shines! 😊 I also want to thank the lovely ladies at reception, who were always welcoming, helpful, and kind throughout my stay. And a special thank you to the gentleman working the night shift who checked me out this morning. There was an electrical problem on my floor just before I left, and despite everything going on, he took such good care of me. He made me a cappuccino and gave me one last chance to sit, relax, and enjoy this beautiful property before heading to the airport. It was such a simple but thoughtful gesture, and the perfect way to end my stay. Grand Hotel Villa Politi is a beautiful place, but it’s the people who make a hotel something you remember. Thank you all for making my time in Sicily so special. I will remember your kindness and hospitality long after I’ve returned home.

Very traditional classical hotel. The exterior is lovely.. Good AC in room. Pool and pool bar is lovely. Restaurant food is excellent.

It is in a very run down area of the city. There are limited dining options or even a local shop in the vicinity. The room was dated with worn facilities. Rooms need some TLC. Pool bar overpriced. A bottle of local beer at 7 euro! Communal areas in the hotel seemed to have limited AC. The shower cubicle is too small for the average human but this seems to be the norm for Sicily.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and the pool facilities are good, with plenty of sun loungers. The hotel is about 30 minutes walk to Ortigia or there is a regular local bus service.

Our room was quite small but a big disappointment was the shower - far too small and in desperate need of refurbishment.

Amazing pool, exceptional staff, lovely food. The property is a beautiful old palace in a great location. Easy free parking and always lots of space at the pool. Lots of choice at breakfast.

I thought it was good value for money and the fact it had a pool which seemed hard to find in the area. I liked the history around the hotel. Beds were comfortable. Staff were very pleasant.

It was a bit outdated in parts but I guess that is part of the old charm. The breakfast was poor and we ended up going out for breakfast on the last morning. It was poor quality food and the coffee wasn’t drinkable

The property was very clean and staff was very attentive to the needs of the guests .

Our room 306 was too small could barely move around in there.

Het was een super goede locatie, parking aan de deur heeeeel leuk zwembad , met lekkere spritz en hapjes en niet te vergeten leuke muziek! Jammer dat we niet langer konden blijven. Het restaurant was heerlijk. Ontbijt heel erg uitgebreid en het personeel super vriendelijk!

Misschien dat je alles wel met de auto moest doen maar dat vonden wij niet zo erg !

Magnifique hôtel avec un beau jardin arboré et une superbe piscine. L'emplacement de l'hôtel est sur les hauteurs au calme.

Salle de bain : pommeau de douche au mur vétuste et il n'y en avait qu'un du coup qui fonctionnait. Petit déjeuner : dommage que les jus de fruits ne soient pas à base de fruits frais Emplacement : le soir pour aller manger il fallait prendre la voiture ou in taxi. La circulation était très dense et les parkings étaient bondés .

The rooms are a little dated and the service at breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was hit or miss if anyone would offer you a coffee.

- This Hotel and it's rooms are very very old and have a smell. There are areas inside the hotel where you'll smell the canalisation, in other ones chlorine in others fungus like smell. - You pay 5 Euro per beach towel to use the pool (no deposit, you pay for using it) - Check your invoice at Checkout. Multiple guests had shadow extra services booked and they made issues out of giving it back. Tone changed very fast - No complementary water in the rooms - No coffee maker or water cooker in rooms - Just paper cups in rooms - One towel per person in the rooms

Poco o niente. Personale gentile nei modi, ma poco professionale nella gestione dei problemi.

Rapporto qualità-prezzo pessimo. Oltre 500 € per quattro notti sono decisamente troppi per quanto offerto. Posizione poco comoda per il mare e per raggiungere Ortigia. Camera al primo piano con vista su sterpaglie e terreno arido. Avevamo richiesto un letto matrimoniale, ma ci siamo ritrovati con due letti singoli affiancati, con un fastidioso avvallamento al centro. Le camere sono inoltre molto rumorose, soprattutto durante la notte. Anche il bagno lascia molto a desiderare: una doccia/vasca davvero anacronistica, assolutamente non all’altezza di un hotel quattro stelle. La porta del bagno non si chiude bene e, durante il soggiorno, si è staccata persino parte della maniglia della camera. Avevamo chiesto di cambiare stanza e ci era stato promesso un richiamo: mai arrivato. Abbiamo dovuto richiamare noi. Come “soluzione” ci è stato proposto di utilizzare il ristorante della struttura con uno sconto. Francamente, far spendere altri soldi al cliente non ci è sembrata una grande soluzione. Colazione inclusa, ma con qualità mediocre e pochissima scelta. Gli alimenti non sono chiaramente identificati e non vengono indicati adeguatamente gli allergeni: per chi ha allergie o intolleranze è una grave mancanza.

la situation géographique est exceptionnelle sur les latomies et face à la mer, la chambre était grande et le petit dejeuner fabuleux. Très belle piscine. J'adore le coté hors du temps de l'hotel, on ressent tout son passé.

la salle de bain est vieillotte avec une douche très ancienne et trop petite , quel dommage pour un hotel de ce standing. Dommage aussi que la piscine ferme à 19h et pas à 20h ou 20h30.

Excellent property where we felt royal. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and did their best to assist us. We would like to recognize Francesca from the restaurant team, who was courteous and careful with our needs. We simply loved the pool, which was not crowded even if we traveled in the month of August.

There were few issues with the power outlets in the room, when we plugged a charger by the bed the socket went inside the wall and another one didn’t work at all, but it got solved once reported and didn’t negatively impact our stay.

Beaucoup de choix dans le petit déjeuner, la literie est parfaite. Et surtout, l'histoire exceptionnelle de l'hôtel, son cadre magnifique et le personnel qui a été très commerçant et professionnel.

Гостиница очень красивая, а с балкона открывается прекрасный вид на море. Расположена она в живописном месте, при этом добраться до центра города очень удобно. Рядом с гостиницей находится автобусная остановка, а до центра можно доехать примерно за 10 минут, учитывая расписание транспорта. Отдельно хочется отметить очень внимательный и доброжелательный персонал. В целом — прекрасное место для комфортного отдыха.

Всегда проверяйте, в тот ли номер вас заселили. Я бронировала номер 17 м², но нас разместили в номере 12 м². К счастью, это не помешало нам насладиться отдыхом и не повлияло на общее впечатление от гостиницы. При выезде мы уточнили, почему произошла такая ситуация. В качестве компенсации нам предложили исключить из счёта стоимость полотенца и воды

Generelt kunne vi godt lide vores ophold og værelse. Poolområdet var også hyggeligt.

Hoveddøren kunne ikke låse ordentligt og kunne brydes op, ved at ligge et tryk på døren. Det opdagede vi først et par dage før vi var færdige. Vi gjorde rengøringspersonalet opmærksom på det, da vi var på vej ud af døren. Hun snakkede ikke engelsk, men gjorde os opmærksom på at de ville se på det. Da vi kom hjem sidst på dagen var det stadig et problem. Vi gad ikke gøre mere ved det da vi.snart skulle hjem. Men ubehageligt at forlade sit værelse, velvidende at døren ikke kan låse ordentligt. Morgenmaden var ret kedelig

Che meraviglia di hotel! stile interno accogliente ben curato,un hotel d’altri tempi,un hotel da film oserei dire.. Riguardo il personale , pulizie, ordine, colazione tutto veramente eccellente , lo consiglio a chi vuole soggiornare nelle vicinanze . Oltre visitare Siracusa e la bella isola di Ortigia ,sicuramente un soggiorno qui può solo migliorare la permanenza in questo luogo meraviglioso

The hotel has old world charm. It is kinda in need of a refurbishment but at the same time it sort of works as is. The pool area is great and its a charming property, it just feels a bit old and empty. Being in the Winston Churchill suite was kinda cool. Getting an extended day in ome of our boys' single rooms til 6 pm for 50 Euros extra was great as we had a 10 pm flight

Pas grand chose, juste la douche un peu vétuste, la cabine est très petite et la pomme de douche est fixée beaucoup trop haut sans pouvoir la régler. Mais vu la qualité du reste, on les excuse.

The hotel was beautiful and very classic and charming and felt historic. The room was very comfortable and we’d been upgraded on the fact of it being our honeymoon which we were very grateful for. Breakfast is very good and different everyday! Pool area is also beautiful.

It can’t be helped but it is a little further of a walk out of Ortigia than we thought- however! Don’t do taxis and do the 105 bus instead! It will come - even if a few minutes late. But takes you right down to the bridge over and right to the hotel. The hotel bar round the pool we found a little bit expensive but ended up buying sandwiches from coop and beers instead.

A hotel with history and traditions, carefully modernized and updated. Very friendly and polite staff and nice facilities (rooms, pool, etc). Excellent cleaning. Good breakfast.

Some of the staff did not speak english, more information about public transport (buses, etc).

The pool and all the decor

We had a deluxe room and was very small. Suited 1 person not 2 people. Bathroom small and shower sprayed water everywhere when showering.

Wow, what a wonderful hotel, absolutely stunning. Sebastian and his whole team went above and beyond to make our experience even more special. The attention to detail and welcome every morning was delightful. People complain about the breakfast not being varied but we found there was enough choice over our 14 day stay. Sure, it’s not a full cooked breakfast, but we are in Sicily, so what do guests expect. We loved the walk into Ortigia, which is about 20mins, and very straight forward to get to. On days we didn’t go on an adventure we relaxed by the pool and Alesso was always on hand to sort you out with snacks and drinks. The location gets a bit of stick from other guests but we loved to get away from the busy streets of Ortigia and the hotel is central to lots of beautiful places. Churchill was right, the hotel was one of the most peaceful sleeps we’ve had on our many travels around the world. We will definitely stay again.

A bit more variety to the background music, particularly noticeable when enjoying a drink on the verandah.

The lock to our room door was loose. The bathroom facilities were run down and didn’t work to capacity. We could hear the people talking in the room next door and hall way. The breakfast was average . No tea / coffee or kettles in room. Note left in room that advised it was due to people using it for washing clothes and heating food. Not that I wanted too but what is wrong with that ? They were charging 5 euro per towel by the pool. The pool was so hot it was like a warm bath. The hotel must have been fabulous at one point in time

Mooie inkom. Verouderde kamer en badkamer. Zielig ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijke dames van de schoonmaak. De heren van de receptie waren dat niet. Er werd ons geen enkele uitleg gegeven bij het inchecken zelfs niet waar en wanneer het ontbijt was. Toen ik vroeg of er een dokter in de buurt was, kreeg ik als antwoord dat ze dat niet wisten.

Très bel hôtel art-déco, les chambres sont spacieuses. La piscine est agréable et la vue depuis notre chambre était très belle (mer + site archéologique).

Le café de leur machine dans la salle de petit déjeuner était vraiment mauvais, il ne faut pas hésiter à aller au bar pour demander un café ou un cappuccino.

Villa storica con un bellissimo giardino che affaccia sulle latomie, con camere e servizi assai puliti ed accoglienti anche negli spazi. Posizione leggermente decentrata che consente comunque di raggiungere agevolmente il centro anche a piedi. Staff accogliente e sala colazione bellissima. Staff gentilissimo ed efficiente
