We were disappointed with the evening meals. They were very bland.

The Golfview is really special. Particularly the setting and the rooms it feels old fashioned but cosy. The room we had was beautiful but the bed needed a refresh or just a topper it wasn’t particularly comfortable at all. The grounds and the hotel are just so special particularly with the beach so close. You can’t beat it. They left a lovely birthday message in our room which was super kind.

While we had a lovely stay, some of the customer service needed ironing out. The cleaning staff were outstanding, so friendly and chatty. Breakfast in the morning became less enjoyable as the week went on. The staff are frantically rushing, everything seems like a bother to ask and by the end of the week we just didn’t bother going. The highland breakfast varied every day - one day delicious, the next day undercooked and unappealing. Similarly the dinner service is rushed and again it feels like you are inconveniencing the staff. This isn’t across the board but it is a large majority. We didn’t feel you got that personalised approach that you’d expect for the price. The spa staff were excellent.

The room and view were wonderful - and the bath in our room was amazing! The staff went out of their way to be helpful, especially given a few setbacks that were not their fault. We really enjoyed the private afternoon tea and the location was stunning - amazing gardens, beach, and sunsets, yet still a fairly easy walk into the main business district of the city for restaurants and shopping.

The lifts were out of order which was difficult for some of our travelers, particularly those on the top floor with 4 sets of stairs, but the staff was wonderful about handling our luggage at check-in and check-out. The lack of air conditioning is likely not an issue most times of the year but in late July was missed. However, the hotel provides fans and the windows opened to allow breezes off the sea to cool things down.

The view is beautiful and close proximity to the beach. The spa is nice and enjoyed the outdoor plunge pool and hot tub. The food was lovely at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner

Cold shower and the receptionist wasn’t very helpful when checking us in and one of the waiters chased us to our room and banged on our door because there was no card linked to the room even through even though we were staying in the hotel

We have stayed in this hotel before, every member of staff we interacted with is polite and friendly. The main chap running the restaurant ( and possibly the Hotel too!) was absolutely delightful and always found time to talk to everyone in the restaurant. The spa area is nice and the pool is great. We have stayed in the same room a number of times and even though it has it's quirks it is gorgeous! All in all a great stay, thank you. x

The lift wasn’t working while we were there

Went off for the weekend to a hotel with a spa due to a fairly horrible forecast (which turned out to be inaccurate Metoffice). Fantastic service, great staff with a really nice room, despite it being the only one available. Ate there all days incuding breakfast and dinner. Raspberry creme brulee to die for. Spa immaculately clean and plenty of avaialability.

The room was truly exceptional with a window seat overlooking the sea. It was very stylishly furnished and the rolltop bath and TV were superb. The staff had asked if it was a special occasion and on arrival to celebrate our anniversary, there was a chocolate message and treats. The cuisine was also good and teh staff impeccable.

A little more fruit for breakfast. I felt a bit guilty taking a generous helping as I did not want to deprive other guests. Other than that, pretty much perfect. The staff had even taken trouble to advise the lift was out of orderr before arrival in case we wanted to change our plans.

Location gorgeous overlooking beach. Room stunning with very comfy bed and complimentary drinks and snacks in room. Pool and spa wonderful overlooking sea, beautiful pool, outdoor and indoor jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and comfy reclining pool side loungers. All very comfortable and luxurious.

My wife and I had a night away for our anniversary and we were very happy with the hotel. The staff perfectly accommodated a couple of requests I made and were always helpful. The Spa was a great place to relax and we thought the food was excellent.

Very handy for the golf course. Aging property which is well maintained. My room was well appointed with a complimentary mini bar and a beautifully upgraded ensuite. Dining room service was good and the food of a consistently high standard

WOW! What an amazing day our group of four (three woman/one man) had at The Coast Spa. We chose the Drift Away Massage and one person the Stress Not Massage. We upgraded with the Thermal Experience for £30 per person for 2 hours as an add on to Coast Spa packages. The changing rooms are small, so pack lightly, but well appointed. The facilities were great with use of the stone bath, pool, hot tubs and salt room. The massage therapists were all just amazing. Huge shout out to Shirley, Sarah and Tara (so very sorry we missed the name of the 4th), as this was probably the best massage that I personally have experienced. We didn't stay at the hotel, but drove from our Airbnb in Inverness, for a day of pampering and it didn't disappoint! Highly recommend booking well in advance!

The golf view hotel in Nairn provides a relaxing experience due to its location on the beach front. The views of the sea are stunning! The room had a sea view was able to sit on bed and look out at the sea and beach ! Room very charming and spacious. Beds very comfortable. Fan was provided as no air conditioning and very warm in the summer despite being able to open window in our room. Spa amenities absolutely fantastic enjoyed the outdoor hot tub ! We dined at the restaurant in the hotel with a window seat overlooking the views. We had the hickory burger which was delicious no faults. Service was good. Breakfast was also excellent ordered French toast with bacon very tasty and impressed.

The lift was out of order very steep climb to top floor especially annoying if you are ordering drinks from the bar to take to room on top floor. No fridge in room would be handy. Room service very disappointing as tried several times to phone to request room service but got not answer each time !

J'ai beaucoup aimé la manière dont la chambre avait été préparé lors de notre arrivée. La salle de bain est somptueuse et que ne parle même pas de cette vue spectaculaire qu'offre l'hôtel sur les très belles falaises au loin. La plage juste devant l'hôtel est un incontournable, surtout au moment du coucher de soleil...

Le seul petit bémol concernant l'hôtel serait peut être ma surprise lorsque, voulant aller à la piscine avec mon compagnon, nous n'avons pas trouvé de chaussons. Après avoir demandé à la réception, c'était soit 2 £ soit y aller en chaussettes. Un peu dommage.

L'ensemble des prestations étaient très bien. La piscine et l'espace spa étaient admirables. La vue est splendide depuis l'hôtel. Restaurant très bon également pour le dîner même si la carte est surprenante au vue du statut de l'hôtel.

Very long wait ( c. 25 mins + ) for meal to arrive once ordered. Asked a waiter how much longer it'd be before our meals arrived - he said a couple of minutes - meals finally arrived 10 minutes after that. Not all meals arrived at the same time - more waiting, and one order was missing part of the meal - which was eventually brought out too when I asked. This was on a quiet midweek evening with the restaurant maybe 40% full. Milk served with post dinner tea was sour - off. Food itself was very good - when it arrived. I used to be a regular here and loved it, the location is spectacular. Five star location, five star prices but two star service.

The hotel is beautiful: The room, the breakfast room, the grounds and the view -- all superb. The staff was most attentive and helpful. We LOVED everything. It was our second time and we will be back.

Air condition would help on hot days. We also recommend adding a small refrigerator.

Location is superb with amazing views

Untidiness around lounge and outdoor area. Empty glasses left on outdoor tables. A chair had blown over or pushed over into the garden where there are tables to sit and enjoy a drink. That chair was still like that when we left the following day. . Not one member of staff picked up the chair and placed it around the table making it inviting to sit down and have a drink. At the price they charge and the star rating they have it’s the little things that matter

This is my favourite hotel. I try to come once a year. It’s the place where I come when I am stressed. It’s been a really stressful couple of weeks - work issues. The hotel always puts me back to me. Sorry for being grumpier than normal. The hotel has salt room in its spa. The salt room has good benefits for people with allergies. I have a lot of allergies. Since using the salt rooms I can go months without feeling the affects of the allergies. Wonderful hotel and lovely staff especially the dogs ( the managers has 2 black labs Xx Oh and next to the beach perfect.

**For the location and views, this hotel deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, almost everything else falls well below expectations.** One of the biggest issues is that the elevator is not working. This should be clearly disclosed—in large, prominent text—on the hotel's website before guests book. It is not a minor inconvenience, especially for guests staying on the upper floors who must carry luggage and climb several flights of stairs multiple times a day. Another serious problem is the water pressure on the top floor. It is virtually nonexistent, making it difficult to take a proper shower or even flush the toilet reliably. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. The spa facilities are also poorly managed. Guests entering the spa directly from the street will find no towels, bathrobes on the spa level. If you didn't bring these items from your room, you're forced to climb multiple flights of stairs back to your room—without the benefit of an elevator. This completely undermines the convenience and relaxation that a spa is supposed to provide. Overall, while the location and views are exceptional, the hotel's operational shortcomings significantly detract from the guest experience. Until these issues are addressed—or at the very least clearly disclosed to prospective guests—I cannot recommend staying here.

The room was fantastic and the view was gorgeous. The little touches made a big difference down to the radio and old phone. The bed was so comfortable and the room was huge and the decor was gorgeous. The dog package was appreciated. The food was excellent.

The lift wasn’t working and we were on the top floor. The water pressure in the shower was just a trickle and when we reported it the staff made excuses like it’s an old building try running the sink tap it could be an air lock. We did that and it made no difference. We went to have a shower in the spa instead but there was only one shower and had to wait for other people to use it first. The coffee machine wasn’t working and it took a long time to get a drink. It would be a simple fix to put a machine in the restaurant so people can help them selves as my breakfast was almost gone before I got my drink. The service was slow and we had to ask for everything instead of being offered and it was not busy. My partner went down to get me a drink later in the evening as we were watching football in the room and the barman commented on how many he had already and shamed him in front of everyone when it wasn’t even for him. I couldn’t face the six flight of stairs in the 27 degree heat as I have lung issues due to radiotherapy. There wasn’t a big choice of food on the menu but what I had was fantastic.

From start to finish, very disappointed, changed special occasion booking from 8 to 9 via email, no confirmation and this had not been actioned. Chased staff several times for various things needed which was hard work. We asked for a wine menu which they had to try and find. Payment was a nightmare as went from bar to reception and neither knew what was happening. It was so disappointing as it was for a special occasion. The food was great and presented lovely but no offer of further tea/coffee and made the experience less than satisfactory.

The location was amazing, wonderful views across the Moray Firth and a simple walk to the end of the lawns to get the promenade and beach

The reception team didn't know about local activities including fishing when it stated ask us? Neighbour to property lit a fire which consumed not only the room for the whole stay 2 days, but my clothes, which had a lovely smell of smoke, we wee told it was just one of those things. Also the water was turned off for some time and was orange when turned on, it would have been courteous to inform.the restaurant manager was rude and seemed under pressure. The serving staff amazing.

Love the lounge area. Food at lunch and dinner is wonderful highly recommend. The views and short walk to the beach are a plus. Spa facilities are very good, clean and welcoming. Staff were accomodating.

We ordered scrambled eggs on the 2nd moring but they brought out an omelette instead. We told the waiter who said let me correct that for you. A few minutes later he returned and said sorry the table order got mixed up with another and placed the 'scrambled eggs' on the table. The order clearly hadn't been mixed up as what was put back on the table was the original omelette chopped up and put in a metal ring. Although, we mentioned to the waiter who said he would replace it we were fed up and left by this point. This is unacceptable, mistakes happen but don't lie and try to cover it up. When it got busy staff struggled and became disorganised at breakfast. Left a taint on what was an ejoyable stay.

We absolutely love the hotel! We've stayed here before and were very excited to visit again. Beautiful hotel, great location, great staff, great meals!

The room was great, just too warm for good sleep. The window barely opens, providing little relief. It was very cool outside, but we couldn't get the cool air into the room, even with the small fan. We of course were the warmest floor, as it was cooler towards floors 1 and 2.

Some aspects of dining not optimal. Opportunity to improve. Grimy Condiments containers (glass) with unusual floaters in vinegar bottle. Dirty damp towel possibly used on dining room window ledge to collect rain water from a leak? Dirty dog bowls outside.

Room was too warm and it was situated beside an air conditioning unit . Got little sleep due to the noise. Very poor breakfast choices if you didn’t like cooked breakfast. Poor selection and amount of sliced fruit and yogurt . There was only a small jar filled with yogurt left. The hotel’s own granola was awful. We checked out early and went elsewhere for breakfast.

Enjoyed a mid week over night stay & dinner at the hotel which was very enjoyable. We had steak which was top class, enjoyed some drinks in the sunshine and a fabulous cooked breakfast the next morning. All staff were helpful, polite and attentive throughout our stay. Bedroom was overlooking the water. We enjoyed the spa facilities which were very clean and well maintained.

Brilliant overnight stay in a deluxe double room with one-hour massage included (highly recommend this). Spa absolutely fantastic! Tasty dinner of mussels enjoyed amidst the lupins and evening sun. Definitely contemplating a trip back!

Afternoon tea for two was delicious. Sandwiches were a perfect size and very fresh, the sausage rolls were tasty but the three cheese tartlet was so salty, it was inedible. Scones were warm and beautiful, homemade jam would have been a really nice touch. Endless tea and coffee. The little homemade cakes were really enjoyable too. Great atmosphere and a beautiful outlook. The two young staff members made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much for them. A credit to the company. We'll be back soon.

Location superb but everything else 3 star. Trading off historical service levels and so disappointing to see something that used to be so good now being distinctly average.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the view from the room(if you pay for a sea view) is incredible. The food and choice of breakfast options is brilliant and cooked to perfection. In general it is overpriced, but you are probably paying for the view from the hotel. Most of the meals on the menu are a decent price to be fair. Would strongly recommend staying her if you fancy an escape by the sea.

Recently visited as part of a driving tour through Scotland. Second time we have been, both times great. Lovely rooms, with amazing sea views, food high quality, and atmosphere great. Spa nice and modern, with good facilities.

Booked a spa day as a special 40th birthday treat and left extremely disappointed. We arrived only a few minutes late after phoning ahead due to a traffic incident, yet our 30-minute treatments were cut to around 15 minutes with no clear communication this would happen. The spa staff were abrupt and the overall experience felt rushed and poor value for money. The only positive was the restaurant staff, who were lovely and made us feel welcome. Beautiful location, but unfortunately the customer service and spa experience were well below expectations. I would not return or recommend

My friend booked the Murder Mystery dinner at the Golf View Hotel . This took place on Saturday the 2nd of May 26. Having stayed at this Hotel before, we were looking forward to a great dinner and a good night solving the crime. We were seated at a table for 6. The meal Starter Waldorf salad 😞 Awful ! Main Pheasant Awful ! Tough , not eaten . Roast sirloin not much better. As for the sorry excuse for a Pavlova ( A meringue white shell you can buy in supermarkets ) 2 Bottles of red wine and 2 bottles of white. Two of us didn’t drink alcohol and if we wanted a soft drink we had to pay . The cost for the evening £68 pp. The meal itself had 3 choices of starter/ main and sweet all of which were chosen by each person at our table. Not one person at table no 8 Was happy with the meal , all plates went back hardly touched every course. As for the Murder Mystery, couldn’t hear a word all 6 of us agreed the night was a complete waste of money . I am confident their reviews are coming.. I am glad we decided not to stay in the Hotel ,as our trip was for 3nights and we felt the cost for BB was overpriced . All in All a big disappointment.

No receptionist available on desk as we arrived with a 5 minute wait to appear. Staff had no idea which gins were local. All staff were there individually lovely but there was a complete lack of any leadership in the restaurant. Breakfast took 20 minutes to arrive, sausages were so pale and cold that they were dangerously undercooked. Everything on the plate was cold apart from one of the fried eggs which was lukewarm and not properly cooked. The other was cold and uncooked.
