Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway

I should have researched better, the hotel was okay but located at a very busy traffic circle and shared a parking lot with a gas station this put us off from the start the hotel was basic and due to the location we would not return

the rooms and facilities are rundown and extremely dated (dark, drab, and dingy)…the tiny fridge(cooler, they said) didn’t work and never repaired/replaced upon request…the in-house restaurant is overpriced for the quality of breakfast buffet (skip it and go elsewhere!).

Rooms were clean and a good size. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent. It's a bit of a walk, about 20-25 minutes, to the Latin Quarter but we didn't mind. Being out a bit meant it was extremely quiet.

Ménage fait à moitié. Serviettes de bain changées mais lits non refaits et poubelle de salle de bain non vidée. Il faut enjamber la baignoire pour prendre une douche, ce qui n'est pas forcément facile pour tout le monde. Le buffet petit-déjeuner très quelconque. Situé dans une zone commerciale sans restaurant. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est cher et ne casse rien.

The room decor was tired and in need of update. The washbasin and bath were both chipped. Bed runner was ravelled and the room was not equipped for the number of guests booked on arrival.

Expensive not to include any breakfast. Difficult junction to access entrance. Too far out. Poor bathroom lighting giving shadows when using mirror Looked out directly at another part of the building. Expected better from superior room - it's not just about size! Reception staff efficient but not particularly welcoming or friendly.

The hotel location was good. We were able to walk into Galway quite easily and there were buses nearby for those who preferred not to walk. The room was large with a good sized bed. Having underground parking was ideal.

Not clean property. Not worth of money

Very clean hotel, rooms nice, I thought the location was great for a walk into the centre.

Breakfast. Sign saying please wait to be seated and whilst stood there 6 or 7 workmen came from outside, walked past us in the queue, walked straight up to food, filled up there plates and proceeded to sit all whilst we were stood there waiting to be seated, this was all at 10am. Clearly construction workers are placed above paying guests when it comes to food. Do you not have a staff canteen that they can eat in? We were told to ask if we wanted poached eggs or pancakes. I didn't realise I would have to get up find the waitress and ask for 2 poached eggs and pancakes. Waited for these to arrive and out came 4 poached eggs no signs of pancakes, told her but couldn't be bothered waiting on pancakes so we told her the 4 eggs will be fine. Hot food was cold. Breakfast was a letdown

Room was sufficient for 3 adults. Breakfast was good. Free parking was convenient.

The television service was poor. No access to subscription/Prime/Netflix/and the overall TV signal was very poor/poor reception/

The room was very spacious! The buffet breakfast was also great. The staff were so friendly and made some great recommendations for local spots in Galway!

Little way out from Galway central area, good if you have a car but you can catch a bus

The location is a little further out from town, however the town is easy to find and a flat walk 15 minute walk.

The property was nice room was a good size

There was hairs in our bathtub when we arrived so we did not take baths for that reason afterwards. We paid for late check out til 2pm and housekeeping barged into our room at 11:30. Other than the chain being on the door they would have walked in on us sleeping. Housekeeping didn’t even apologise or anything and I got up to check if they were still outside the door and they obviously ran off after they realised there mistake. This really disturbed our stay and the we stayed 2 nights for a wedding and just wanted to relax for the second night and did not even get that.Also no one was at the front desk when we went to check in and we were left standing there for 15/20 minutes, once someone did come back to the desk they didn’t even apologise. I work as a receptionist in a four star hotel myself and all I can say was I was disappointed and Is definitely not a 4 star

staff were very welcoming and professional from front of house, dining and even the cleaning staff nothing was too much trouble

Traffic a little chaotic around the entrance of the hotel it was awkward to get around taxis at front of hotel they pulled up so close to the main entrance!

El hotel es comodo y con buen estacionamiento.

Esta en las afueras de Galway necesitas el auto para ir al centro y los pubs. Pero se puede estacionar con facilidad.

Chambre non prête à notre arrivée. Hôtel au pied d'une voie rapide / très bruyant. Serveurs petits déjeuners pas du tout souriants. Chemin entre hôtel et centre de Galway un peu glauque ....traversée d'une zone commerciale pendant 15 mn

Freundliches u. hilfsbereites Personal. Grosses Familienzimmer mit grosszügigem Badezimmer. Mit 4 Leuten hatten wir nie das Gefühl dass es eng ist. Kostenloses Parken in der Tiefgarage des Hotels.

La colazione avrebbe potuto essere compresa nel prezzo. Posizione non penalizzante ma nemmeno così vicina al centro del paese

Friendly staff

Mattress on bed was v high. Felt it uncomfortable getting in and out as I had hip surgery few weeks prior to stay.

Big room and quiet

Very expensive for a four star hotel it did not provide what was expected . Location a good walk into town busy road. Bar very expensive £14 for a Prosecco, breakfast poor, not worth the money. No gym and bar rest area only allowed certain areas .

El bano estaba atascado, hemos avisado pero no vino nadie a arreglarlo, tambien mucho ruido durante la noche, habia parejas discutiendo en sus habitaciones, al final tenia que llamar al recepcion para les digan algo.

There was a loud humming noise coming from outside our room which only stopped after 11 pm and restarting early in the morning. I tried calling the front desk about it but my calls weren't answered.

Lovely staff, good value and good location

Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Some of the fried potatoes were very undercooked as were the boiled eggs. Scrambled eggs were very poor and no fried eggs available that I could see.

We stayed here during our visit to Galway and had a good experience overall. The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from the city centre, or you can take a taxi for around €15. The hotel itself is functional and comfortable, and the parking is really good, which was very convenient for us. It’s a great option if you’re travelling by car, as there is plenty of parking and it’s included in the room price. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. A special mention to Marina at reception, who gave us some great recommendations and tips for visiting the city. The breakfast was quite complete and had a good variety of options. There are plenty of tables, but the area where the food is served is quite small, as it’s set up in a U-shaped corner. If a lot of people are getting breakfast at the same time, you may have to wait a little to serve yourself, so I’d recommend going early if you want a quieter experience.

L'établissement est situé dans un secteur commercial de Galway (centre d'achat) au coin de deux rues très passantes et attaché à une station service. Nous avons demandé à être changé de chambre parce que la chambre avait un odeur de cigarette.

Great reliable Maldron you can count on. Decent beds, decent food, nice staff - in accordance with the name.

Muy comodo y limpio. El hotel perfecto. La distancia al centro tampoco es demasiada pero no es un camino agradable porque hay mucho tráfico y es una zona algo industrial y oscura por la noche para caminar. Por lo demás como hotel, estupendo. Probablemente repetiríamos

Struttura abbastanza nuova.

Peccato per il bagno con vasca uso doccia senza soffione, scomoda la doccetta. Consegnano un telo doccia a persona ed un solo asciugamano per camera, noi però eravamo in 4! La prima notte abbiamo trovato lo scarico del lavandino intasato, è stato sistemato il giorno seguente per il nostro rientro. Letti non comodissimi. Climatizzatore poco stabile, di notte la stanza era troppo calda.
