Nothing in particular
Great location
Very old, in need of a refresh. Generally just outdated and run down.
Hotel is central.
We paid €325 for one night, no breakfast. If we wanted breakfast it was another €22 each, bring the cost to almost €400 for one night. On check in which was only allowed at 4pm, there was a couple in front of us checking in, they got offered tea or coffee but when we checked in next we got offered none. The room was nice, but the toilet was broken and flush didn’t shut off all night. Room was too hot and aircon not working properly, hence the fan they had in the room I guess. Hotel is great for location but not worth the €€€ for one night. Parking also next door in car park and another €12 for the night...
Struttura top! Elegante, pulita, in pieno centro. Personale gentilissimo. Colazione top
Niente
Location
Room and facilities quite dated...musky smell throughout...bedsheets did not feel clean...overall quite an uncomfortable experience
The location and breakfast
The rooms are old and the staff was not very friendly nor helpful.
everything about the hotel was great. are only regret was we only stayed 1 night.
Spacious rooms, very friendly staff, great location.
We had a small child a could have used a mini refrigerator in our room. But staff accommodated us by storing things in the restaurant refrigerator.
Park House Hotel is in a great location for exploring the city of Galway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. We were traveling around Ireland in a van and the great thing is that there is a public Car Park attached to the hotel. You don't need to drive through narrow city streets to get to this hotel but once you are there, you step out the door and are in the city center. The parking was validated by the hotel and was half price ($12 euro for a 24 hour period). We did one night in Galway to explore the city which was enough for us as we were traveling to multiple locations around the country.
The breakfast that was included was decent but nothing great compared to some of the other hotels we stayed at in Ireland.
Breakfast was not included in the price. Everywhere else we stayed at in Ireland was so disappointing but location and room was great
Location and rooms
Super Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable hotel. Relaxed family vibe of a local Irish hotel. From a happier time in hospitality. No corporate trappings or cutting edge architecture or gimmicks. just nice food and drink and homely and quiet.
Not much. Parking can be done by concierge.
The hotel is centrally located and very convenient for a short stay. A great plus is that the hotel is somewhat away from the large crowd gatherings. It was very close to the meeting point for the tour that we were taken.
The hotel is very much overpriced. The facility is fairly dated with very slow and insufficient number of elevators. We ended up just taking stairs, but those with mobility issues would need to be very patient.
Everything about the hotel well exceeds Excellent. The staff could not do enough for you, beautiful hotel with lots of sitting areas. Room was wonderful, very comfortable. Breakfast delicious, we had dinner there also in the bar and it was very good. Centrally located, walk everywhere. The lady that owns the hotel is there everyday making sure her guests are well taken care off. Wished we had stayed longer and will definitely stay there again.
Location and staff
Location is good! Breakfast needs more green stuff.
The information about parking was not sufficient.
Very clean
Clean
Staff, food, location excellent.
Excellent location for exploring Galway city centre. Very helpful staff
Hôtel bien placé.
Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas.
The personal touch and friendly staff made the place stand out.
Location excellent, very close to coach station and city centre amenities. Breakfast was excellent, a very good selection of hot and cold food. It was however, the staff who turned a good stay into an excellent one.
È vicinissimo alla stazione e alla piazza centrale
Everything was excellent at the Park house hotel staff so friendly helpful and efficient will definitely be back to this hotel location is perfect too.
Very comfortable, great location in Galway city. Excellent staff.
Can be expensive during peak times in Summer.
It was very conveniently located close to the station, rental car agency and Latin Quarters. The room was lovely and quiet despite the hotel being on a busy road.
The bathrooms are a bit dated but adequate.
As always perfect
Nothing
The location was perfect—a block away from the craziness of the commercial district.
A little outdated.
Location
Out dated, expensive
Breakfast was great as was location.
HVAC system doesn’t work well. Room was never cool. Very slow Internet too, and no streaming TV options.
One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Currently traveling with a tour I was staying here for one night. I was excited about air conditioning, which is rare in Europe. Upon check-in, my AC was broken. I notified staff before heading to dinner; they set it to 23°C, but when I returned, the room had skyrocketed to 27°C. When I complained again, maintenance claimed I had to keep it at 23°C for it to 'keep up.' I walked the staff member three doors down to my young adult children's room to prove their AC was working perfectly, proving my unit was simply broken.Their only solution was a basic fan. Even with the windows open and the fan running, the room stayed at 26°C (nearly 79°F) all night long. It was one of the most uncomfortable sleeps I’ve ever had in my life. To make matters worse, when I requested a room change, they demanded an additional €45 to upgrade to a king bed. I’m currently in a room with a full bed and a single. In hindsight, I should have just paid the €45 to get some sleep, but it was the principle of the thing. I had already paid for a working room. It was their failure, not mine, and the audacity of management to want to charge me extra because their equipment was broken is ridiculous. They are entirely unaccommodating. Avoid this place if you value comfort and customer service."
The hotel was well-located, close to Central Park, cafes and pubs. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.
Thenhotel was excellently located right in the heart of the city , next door to the train station. It was very comfortable.
Check in was supposed to be four , but we had to wait until 4.30 for our room-no communication from staff anout this. Offered tea but even though room wasready was not told until we asked. Room was very comfortable but a little dated. Its been a long time since I had to take a shower in a bath. Also very expensive.
The property was clean and comfortable and in a great location. We appreciated the air conditioning.
The staff were incredible except for the hostess at the restaurant. She was so rude to my daughter and me that we ended up leaving even though we were hungry and tired. It’s too bad, because the others were so friendly and helpful.
Extremely expensive for what was provided. Old fashion hotel room for almost 400€ for one might stay. Need refurbishment
The friendless of the staff was just brilliant 👏
Nothing
This was our first visit to Ireland, which did not start off so well. The airline lost our luggage, and we did not have a lot of confidence our bags would catch up with us. The staff at The Park House were exceptional with their service! Front desk personnel knew of our situation and took a call from the airline when we missed it. When we returned to the hotel, Ohanna went above and beyond to try to assist us. She relayed the details of the call and spent a lot of time trying to get the airline back on the phone so we could update our next hotel information. She also assisted us with getting information for other tourist attractions and even made a phone call to confirm details about availability. In addition to the service, the hotel itself was very nice, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. I would absolutely stay here again - hopefully with all of the bags the next time.
Nice staff and good location
Having to pay to park, decor in room was tired and needs updating, shower was not up to normal hotel standards of that price, and the air con didn't seem to be working properly.
Great location, large room, convenient parking and friendly staff
Hotel is dated, needs a facelift. Bkfst bar could have better options but cooked meal is available
Posizione centralissima dell'albergo. Colazione di ottimo livello con possibilità di ordinare da un menù molte opzioni (ottimi i pancakes).
Arredamento della stanza e del bagno abbastanza antiquati. Non adeguata insonorizzazione della stanza. Rapporto qualità-prezzo poco vantaggioso.
The location is fabulous, the bed was really comfy, staff were lovely and breakfast was delicious!

The hotel is lovely. Large bedroom with tea facilities. Great location. The staff are exceptional. Great indoor parking right beside the hotel. The hotel food is excellent. Would definitely stay again.
The bathroom. Old style bath with overhead shower head. Unsafe for older or disabled people. . A walk in shower is needed with grab rails in appropriate places.
Very comfortable, great breakfast and warm and friendly staff
Nil
Good meal in restaurant in evening and breakfast also good
Location
Room was without view and contained a twin bed we didn't need. Shower was just warm, but not hot. Sink drain was clogged but housekeeping fixed right away.
Superb Meal early bird excellent service v happy good value gt food
OMG! if your getting a day out from hospital and your appetite is like a bird this is the place for you! I was actually shocked at the portion size they served up and charged the money they did..absolutely outrageous! Baby plates..i have eaten here before and portions were good but its just outrageous to serve an adult a baby plate -half portion and expect people to pay top dollar!
Clean, comfortable room
Helpful staff and location
Nothing really
The location was great. Included breakfast which had hot options. Excellent staff
The wifi was so bad in the room
Best last minute reservation we made.
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel, the first time being two years ago. To say that our experiences were drastically different is a huge understatement, the result being we will never stay at this property again. It has turned into the tour bus hotel of Ireland, stuffing at least three/four coach tours of customers into the hotel at one time. As a family of three traveling together, using two suites, the air coniditioning was not working on the hottest day in Ireland, hitting 93 degrees F. Though the apologies were profuse, there was no one available to remotely fix the problem, other than offering an undersize fan to blow sweltering air onto us. When one member of the family agreed to move rooms, out of an appropriately sized room, she was moved into a dormitory sized room with three beds, no washcloths, and old linens. Upon moving, it was suggested she would be charged for a suite!! This hotel has become a third rate one, at best, needing a thorough cleansing and a focues on something that resembles a quality customer experience. Unless you arrive on a motorcoach, your experience will be dismal as a second class citizen. The public areas are dirty and stained to the point that you do not want to sit on upholstered pieces. In addition to all of this, the food is no better than what can be found at a highway cafeteria. Clearly, we will never be returning to The Park House Hotel in Galway.
Perfekt läge mitt i stan, rent och snyggt, stort rum och sköna sängar. Personalen var otroligt hjälpsamma och trevliga. Bra frukost med mycket att välja på.
Checked all the boxes of a great facility and excellent service!
The location can’t be beat!
Nice friendly, accommodating staff. The hotel needs a face lift as it is worn out, but in a very good location.
Location is great
Bathroom and shower was just okay. Parking was a pain. Dragging luggage from car park and up stairs was not good with no assistance offered. Hotel has lift but still have to carry luggage up a flight of stairs.
Park house just never fails to deliver on outstanding food of superior quality. The staff are courteous and most helpful
location and the bar area
parking was inconvenient
Very nice hotel, clean rooms, a little small for an upgraded room, great breakfast, great service, very convenient to eyre square. Very friendly staff
Warm welcome from staff and really lovely evening meal with lots of choice. It is also very close to everything in Galway. I have one major gripe. It is 2026 and the wifi is so so bad. I had business to do and essentially had to wait to get it done in my next hotel. I get it that it is a rather old fashioned hotel but that is no excuse. I literally had to wait to leave this review as the wifi wouldn't connect me to Trip Advisor, let alone upload or download.
We booked this hotel for five nights as we had limited time in Galway on a prior stop (2024) and wanted to return to explore it more. As noted by others, the hotel is very conveniently located and the rooms are quite comfortable. But rooms and locations don’t take care of guests - people do. Among the very limited positives of our stay, the breakfast restaurant staff were quite accommodating and the food quite good. This might seem trivial, but when we checked in we were informed that large groups present were likely to overwhelm the kitchen, to the point that we were actually advised to delay breakfast until after the groups’ scheduled time was past. Unfortunately, we too, were tourists and had a schedule. Sorry Rick Steves groups. As it turns out, this warning was much ado about nothing. The kitchen and the dining staff handled it all professionally. We only had one experience with the bar staff, for reasons that will become clear, but they were jovial and quite engaging. Wished we could have spent more time with them. And there begins the saga of the nadir to our entire Galway experience. Following a very long day touring the Aran Islands we returned to find our room had not been serviced by housekeeping. Stuff happens, so we informed the front desk that we were missed, they apologized and sent someone to attend to it. We decided to get a drink at the bar to give them their space and had the enjoyable experience noted. But, as we were tired, we decided to call it a night after one drink, asking to just have the cost added to our room charge. (We learned later that) this hotel charges your full room on checkin and expects you to pay as you go for all other charges. Not knowing that at the time, the bartender instructed us to set up charging privileges with the front desk. Except that’s not what the front desk informed us; quite the contrary. I was actually told that a bar manager had to “vouch for me” to establish bar charge privileges. Noting that the hotel had already successfully charged my card for 5 nights accommodations at rack rate I, I gather foolishly, asked if my card wasn’t “vouch enough”. A quite stern “no” came back as the response. Still not knowing what “vouch for me” meant, I added my own interpretation - this hotel would not get 1 euro more revenue from me, a promise kept! But there’s more. I did inform management of this, and was told the desk’s response was “not their policy” and that things were corrected to allow room charge for this stay and all future stays (of which, of course, there will be none) as that damage was done. The next day we decided to see if our room would be serviced (this, according to the manager was also an egregious oversight from the prior day). About 2:30 pm staff arrived. We left them to their work to head to a nearby pub (it is Ireland) and were gone about 2 hours. Upon our return we discovered that housekeeping, trying to clean our bathtub (which we had not used) left the water running with the drain closed. Yes, the tub was completely filled with water. Thankfully, the safety drain was working and no damage to either party’s property resulted. Had to have hotel maintenance visit as we had no idea how the drain was supposed to work and didn’t want to accidentally release a tsunami of water as we were on the top floor. Yes, there is more, including another missed housekeeping, but I will spare any of you still reading. I went this far only because the manager’s response included corporate “we pay attention to details” language that likely sounds nice to senior managers but rings hollow to customers who went through all of this in 5 days. So, to those of you who might question review rankings, you have our story. Every event and response is what we actually experienced. You decide if this “four star hotel” is what it says it is. We don’t think it id because “we pay attention to details”.
Had a family celebration in the Hotel at the weekend and just wanted to say well done on the whole experience. From providing personalised menus, decorating the room and service during the meal was second to none. The choice on the menu was extensive and great value Well done to everyone involved .
Nice folks that greet you. Its a pretty busy hotel but the location is superb. The rooms are ok, nothing super great. The bellman was fantastic parking our car. Overall a pretty good hotel with really great Irish breakfast in the morning with very good staff for that.
Breakfast was good
I thought the tub was a bit high for seniors to be getting in & out of- I noticed there were a lot of seniors arriving by bus and I thought it might be difficult for them. The room was a bit dark. However I thought the room had a spacious feel and found it to be one of the bigger rooms in Ireland during our travels which I appreciated.
Wonderful hotel with lots of spaces to relax in lobby. Jasmine at the front desk was so helpful in giving us recommendations.
Liked everything
For some reason, Galway hotels seem to get a lot of bad reviews. We stayed one night here, and we had a very nice stay. This is a stately hotel that is nicely located in central Galway, yet is just a few blocks from all the pubs and noisy streets. The city is compact, easily walkable. Our room was large, well-laid out, and comfortable. WiFi worked fine, we found free parking in the hotel lot. Staff were very helpful and friendly, nice breakfast. This is not the place to party down, mostly tours and over 60 folks like us. Overall, I would recommend as a nice base to explore the city.
