Breads were not fresh. They offer only open buffet for dinner.
Overall wonderful experience. Staff looked after us well, good facilities, very close to the beach, on site restaurant was lovely too and overall location was good if you wsnt to experience northern Mauritius. Had the odd flies/ants in the bathroom but thats expected of any hotel in a tropical island.
Very fun hotel with entertainment around the clock✨
Nice hotel with a nice beach. I like the room, staff, food, service and the beach all. They even offer free watersports activities at the beach. It has probably one of the best beaches in Mauritius and you don't have to rush to get a sunbed, there is always one available. We will be back to Casu if we come back to Mauritius.
All beautiful and nice.
Well located across the street from Trou aux Biches beach. The two bedroom family bungalow was comfortable and spacious, and we could not hear the party noise with the air conditioners on during the night. This was not a luxury experience, but was an adequate base for exploring the island.
We stayed during the Easter holiday, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that some of these issues wouldn't have happened during a non-holiday time. The dining area was overcrowded and buffet dishes would run out and not be quickly replaced, resulting in stressful meals. An ordered drink never arrived. Staff weren't overly friendly or flexible (I asked the concierge if we could have our half board meal the next day be lunch instead of dinner, and was directed to go myself to the restaurant manager to ask, and when I got to the restaurant and found the manager, he said he had to ask HIS manager and I should come back in another hour to ask again... we ended up just giving up and skipping the meal that day). No one seemed to know much information about snorkel trips and we ended up on a boat that could not go beyond the reef (most of the coral inside the reef is bleached), which we weren't told until we were on the boat. One bedroom had a newer air conditioner that worked very well, but the one in the children's bedroom was old and leaked a lot of water on my child's pillow during the night and made continuous creaking noises, causing poor sleep. We had to ask several different staff before someone came to fix it, and it had the same problems after they did "fix" it. All lounge chairs are removed from the beach immediately when the sun drops below the horizon - we probably would have liked to linger a bit longer, but were asked to surrender our chairs. Both pool areas were crowded and it was competitive to get a lounge chair there. All in all it just didn't feel very vacation-y or relaxing.
V good breakfast buffet
If you want dinner but you’re not on the all inclusive rate, it’s very expensive (R2,000-2,500) for what you get.
Lovely staff from gardening - cleaning and waiters relatively options for vegetarians Plenty of sun beds Good salad options - plenty of choices of food
They did not have enough coeliac options no bread - pasta or cereal Not enough fruit options Could of had more vegetarian options On arrival they had no idea about our booking on booking.com - so we had a hour delay getting our room ready for our stay
the staff was very helpful and cooperative
The staff was pressing ro leave as from 10.30. the check our was a bit too early.
Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast.
The atmosphere was extremely pleasant, the staff was helpful, the food was so good. I like the swimming pool a lot. A big thank you to an exceptional staff especially Mr Shiva who transformed our stay from the best to the most memorable event.
What can I say, i do not usually write reviews but i had to for this one, i booked a really expensive 5* hotel in Mauritius using the Hotel.com app and our experience was so bad we was left stranded at the middle of the night. Luckily this hotel was free and taken us in, now i was on my honeymoon and it was a disaster from the start but the manager at this property was a ray of sunshine. His name was Ashley - he was understanding, caring and went that extra mile to make our stay great. I could not thank him enough. He upgraded us to a honeymoon suite and helped us book a car rental - he made sure we had one. He was literally a gem! i cannot express how attentive and nice the staff was, they was all so lovely. From having a disaster of a time to then coming here was amazing. you made our holiday special thank you!
Will be much better when room upgrades are complete.
The property is a little dated and had a few construction works going in the background whilst we were there. However staff were very friendly and would go out there way to make our stay comfortable, even the security guards in the car park were extremely helpful. Good value considering water sports and glass bottom boat is included. Would have liked more dining options or at least bar food to have a few more options as this was a little limited. However overall would recommend.
Location only
Customer service needs to be improved by the crew. Additionally, the rooms need to be improved because it us very old. All facilities need to be improved since everything is old.
Did not enjoyed but the food for dinner was ok .
Such a disappointment ! Im asking for urgent help concerning my booking which was booked for HB BUT WHEN WE ARRIVED THEY SAID WE ARE ON RO ONLY AND CLAIMED THAT WE HAD TO PAY AGAIN !
The staff was very kind and helpful with our needs (especially Fiona and Rose) Thanks to Mr. Shiva for giving us a beautiful stay in a beautiful hotel! The hotel is very comfortable, in front of the beach. Every evening there’s entertainement for hosts. I recommende it!
Pros: Location on the beach Room size and cleaniness Spa was superb 10/10 Cons: Buffet food was not impressive and very expensive. Property a bit dated
The ducks, the garden, friendly staff.
Old room, very old furniture, dirty walls and wash room, broken AC ( the outside plastic cover fell down and we could see how dirty and full of dust it was, also the cover was sticked with some scotch ( tape)). They need to shut down the hotel and refurbish it. Poor buffet, unclean table clothes, old scratched plates, dirt is everywhere!!! for the money we paid, they could have done better. I'm not sure, given the condition of the hotel , they put clean bed sheets. The housekeeping always forgets to put coffee in the room. They only put decaf and tea ( two things I don't drink!)
The room Entertainment in the evening
Staff not that friendly Better selection in food More activities during the day Too much noise at night, with the birds, or whatever was up on the roof Ants on the bed and sink Cockroach
Property is very old. Old furnitures, old air con, toilets feel dated and old, tv was 720p resolution. Lights were not working in few areas of the room. Found insects in the room. Hot water was not available for all 3 days of stay.
Location is maintained. Staff is very nice and makes an effort to help where they can. The resort's private beach opposite the complex is a huge bonus. Very good local fruit juice stand aside that beach!
Tennis courts need an update. I guess the resort cannot do anything against the open sewer around it. Hope the wind blows in the other direction. One fridge felt hot to the touch - the other did not. Doesn't feel safe.
Small and cosy hotel exactly what we needed before leaving paradise island. The staffs are absolutely fantastic... always ready to assist and advise. It has a Greece kind of look / vibe. Very much like staying in a cave which was a new experience for us. Entertainment during the day, evening and morning too...it's a pity we were there for a night only. Beds are very comfortable. After we checked out we were still able to use the pool which was a plus. We should have probably booked all inclusive as the food looked delicious.
The hotel is simply amazing, looks like big beautiful tropical garden. Everything is very clean and numbers are very clean too. The hotel beach is probably the best on Mauritius, hotel provides personal sunbeds and towels. Food is amzing and big variety of food. The staff is very very helpfull, ready to solve any questions. Big thanks to managers Akshita and Steeve for very warm welcome.
The property is pretty with lots of lovely gardens. Good location.
The breakfast fruit was over ripe. Food was quite expensive.
There was a nice variety for the breakfast buffet. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The resort is structured in such a way, that even though the whole place was fully booked, it didnt feel crowded at any point.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
spacious grounds
Environment, garden, food, swimming pool, beach.
Unfortunately, it happened at the bar* that we were charged 570 rupees on the bill for one cocktail instead of 270. We announced the error and did not accept the next cocktails as a present, so they needed to cancel the bill and *make a new one. At that point, the stress level of the bartender skyrocketed. So, we were pretty sure that it was not a kind of a mistake, rather an intentional attempt for extra salary for the staff. We also assume that it is not acceptable for the management,* which was the possible reason why they tried to serve some extra drinks without cancelling of the order. This behavior is also unacceptable for us. That is why we tell the story to others. So an advice to all: *Double check *the bills *all time in the hotel and also in Mauritius. (Yes, serving at double prices is a habit on the whole island). Stay cool and do not let locals to destroy the spectacular feeling of your holiday and the region. The island and the hotel are awesome and 10/10 from every other aspects.
Check in and out was good. I've got some food allergies and the chef did spoil me with special prepared meals. we requested extra pillows and they were there with it in minutes. Nice size room. With a small view of the ocean. we asked for extra water in the room and they provided. The water pressure in the shower was good.
The shower glass panels was not clean, not when we arrived and not during our stay. They have to work on the cleaning side of things. Shortage of swimming towels. No one at the Swimming towels station, you lucky if you get him there. Need swim shoes to swim.
The resort had a lot of facilities like swimming pools, restaurants, a spa and a games room. It was very peaceful and close to the beach.
The service was quite slow sometimes. We had to wait 30 minutes to get a beach towel. Our room didn't have bath towels one morning and when we requested them, they were flung on the chairs outside. They were wet and dirty... We had to ask again for some clean dry towels and we waited until 4pm to receive these! The shower was quite small too.
Everything , great variety and very tasty. Thank you!
The wrong communication about the check out time at the time of booking.
- One housekeeper kept asking for tips - Had to call reception 3-4 times to get an iron - Asked the reception 3 times to get the light bulb changed as it was flickering in my bathroom. Even though the manager on duty (2nd day) had told the receptionist to follow up on that, it still didn’t get changed and I finally had to show my frustration then it got changed on the 3rd day.
Good food 😋
Maybe snacks could be provided in the all inclusive package
I loved how convenient the location was. The food and friendly environment.
Food was amazing, room was clean and staff friendly
Additional toiletries such as lotion, toothpaste, shower cap would've been nice
Lovely Room, great interior and exterior. Lovely staff and restaurants. The check out experience was great, the best I've seen compared to other resorts on the Island. Enjoyed the balcony. Enjoyed the fried chicken wings from the bar and chips for snacking. The entertainment was good.
Only one gown and slippers provided in the room for a couple. Only vanilla tea in the room. No sugar, milk, coffee or drinking water. I was expecting the Casuarina Standard in Cape Town. Check in was a bit of a wait, more than one hour waiting for booking.com to confirm with the resort. Realised this is perhaps just standard to give only a sheet in Mauritius, but I was cold in the night and wish there was a duvet or blanket. Air-conditioning settings only on cool.
Breakfast was good. A variety of choices.
It was all good 👍
Breakfast and dinners were outstanding, and the reception and guest relations staff excellent.
We had a wonderful experience at the Casuarina Resort and Spa. Every staff member we encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help. Staff members went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Thank you! Please Casuarina Resort and Spa give your staff awards!
1. Management staff was exceptional with us! But hotel staff friendliness needs some improvement. 2. We loved the room space but housekeeping was not at its best. 3. We've enjoyed the entertainment crew on friday. 4. The pools were very nice too. 5 the spa was short but okay. 6. Kids friendly, enough activities to keep kids busy.
1. Delay for check in at arrival - 30 mins wait time. 2 Room maintenance and cleanliness issues - no tonality on one phone, Water tank issues in one room, safe box not working in one room, tea in one room no tea in two rooms, slippers in two rooms out of three. 3. Basics ex wifi change in rooms not mentioned anywhere.
Entertainment entertainment entertainment entertainment entertainment
Staff, family friendly, entertainment, activities, all together excellent
Les animations et le repas : très bien. La salle de bains est à améliorer.
A few meters away from one of the best beaches of the north. Welcoming staff with tropical juice. Nice swimming pool with daily activities. The restaurant is just awesome with plenty plenty of options. Make sure you're on half/full board. Downside is that drinks (even water) are not included when youre half board. Gym is OK, but closes at 7:30pm which is too early. Rooms are basic, good bed, a small TV and a fridge/freezer, a balcony. housekeeping was done everyday. The resort offers several water sports free of charge which is amazing! The tennis courts are OK, the balls they provide were a bit too old. Wifi is available in most common areas. The complaint I have is that we rented a standard room that said on hotels.com that it had free wifi, but the reception said some rooms do not have Wifi inside the room, and they proposed we pay some amount to get a modem to use in the room. We took the option, the internet was good, but we were just a bit disappointed that we had to pay for it. All in all, I can say that I definitely enjoyed my stay, and would come back again!
Hôtel a recommander.
Nice hotel overall, within close proximity of the beach. But due to cyclone our stay was restricted within the hotel premises. We were told we were going to get some sort of compensation on the day of arrival but none of this materialised during our stay. Despite this we had a good time staying at the premises.
Bad luck a cyclone was around and all beach activity was canceled but we had a great time in the area.
food was cold and did not include any drinks you had to pay separately management not helpful and rude. Wifi was rubbish trying to use whatsapp impossible
Photos give the impression that the beach is at the end of the pool but you have to walk across the road. This hotel is pretty expensive for what you get but the family room is spacious, has a holiday feel. Breakfast is okay but supper was really very good and waiter's made a special effort for kids. Feels like this hotel is 20 years behind in some respects but once I lost my uptight approach we actually had a good time. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. It's a difficult one to review because it's expensive for what you get but we enjoyed our stay (which wasn't luxury but satisfactory). As with all three star hotels, there's plenty of room for maintenance. It was a real downer to see the sunbeds - old and tattered before we checked in. My heart sunk but we left after two nights happy knowing the next place was going to be exceptional.
The first night was terrible the room was not what we expected but we managed to upgrade to Deluxe room and paid 30 Euro extra, and was much better. The marketing for the Superior double or twin is misleading as there is no WiFi in the room. But after the upgrade we enjoyed our stay, and the staff were friendly. I will recommend renovating the superior rooms as there are outdated
My husband and I spent 6 nights at the hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time and the hotel staff really looked after us. On our anniversary they left a delicious cake with candles in our room and offered us a pre-dinner cocktail. The Spa facilities are a must and we had a wonderful afternoon there. The boys at the boat house look after you especially Jeremy. My husband tried water skiing as it was free. Definitely recommend this hotel but it is a three star.
The resort offered everything you could want. Value for money. Great food. Friendly service. It was a clean resort and the hotel layout was easy to understand. Signs everywhere and things like the gym, spa were all accessible. It was simple and stress free.
When I arrived, I was told that they had overbooked and I was put in a lesser hotel for one night before being brought back to Casuarina for the next for nights. Apparently, from talking to several employees, overbooking is a business model for Casuarina. Hotels.com should not do business with Casuarina in the future, in my opinion.
Hotel sympathique. Plage magnifique a 5 minutes.
This hotel is very good valve for the cost
