Title: A Wonderful Stay in an Iconic Shanghai Hotel We had a wonderful stay at the Fairmont Peace Hotel, an iconic property with an exceptional location right on Nanjing Road and just steps away from the Bund. It is an ideal base for exploring Shanghai, combining history, character and a truly privileged location. Our room was very comfortable and impeccably maintained, and the overall standard of service throughout the hotel was excellent. We would particularly like to highlight the Concierge team, who were outstanding. They were consistently professional, efficient and extremely helpful, assisting us brilliantly with several matters during our stay and making a real difference to our experience. The only aspect that we felt could be improved concerns the hotel's restaurants. We dined at both the Dragon Phoenix and The Cathay Room, and although we appreciated the quality and setting, we were disappointed that the kitchens close at 9:00 pm. On both occasions, we also felt some pressure to have the various courses served too quickly, sometimes almost at the same time. This took away from the pleasure of enjoying a relaxed dinner, which we would expect to be an important part of the experience in restaurants of this standard. We fully understand the need for kitchen closing times, but we believe the service should be organised in a way that allows guests with accepted reservations to enjoy their meal at a comfortable pace without feeling rushed. Overall, however, the Fairmont Peace Hotel was an excellent experience. Its unique character, superb location, high standard of service and exceptional Concierge team make it a hotel we would certainly recommend and would be very happy to return to.

We were also quite surprised by the policy at The Jazz Bar. As hotel guests who were already regularly using and spending in the hotel's bars and restaurants, we found it rather unusual to be required to commit to a minimum spend simply to enjoy the Jazz Bar. For that reason, we ultimately decided not to visit it. In a hotel of this category, we feel that resident guests should be able to enjoy such an iconic hotel venue without being subject to a minimum consumption requirement.

“I was extremely disappointed with how the hotel handled an accidental coffee spill on the bedding. I was charged approximately US$500 for the incident, which I considered excessive. I asked for clarification regarding the charge and felt the way the situation was handled significantly affected my overall experience. For a hotel of this level, I expected a more reasonable and transparent approach to accidental damage.”

The best location in central Shanghai located right next to the Bund. It was an amazing and exciting place.

There are crowds of tourists outside trying to get in who are politely turned away - as a guest you get to live the experience. Yes its a step back in time but that means vast rooms, great service and a special experience. The Gold Club lounge if you can afford it is worth every cent - excellent service and snacks- well meals of you want - and drinks. Just do it !

Alles war ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel war wunderschön, sehr sauber und stilvoll. Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage perfekt. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen und komme gerne wieder.

Es gab nichts zu beanstanden. Alles war hervorragend.

Le Fairmont Peace Hotel est tout simplement exceptionnel. Les chambres sont classiques tout en étant moderne à la fois. La literie est exceptionnelle. Le bâtiment en lui-même est très imposant vu de l’extérieur. Les plafonds, les couloirs, la décoration, et les œuvres sont superbes. Le petit déjeuner est parfait. L’insonorisation de la chambre est également parfaite grâce aux double fenêtres à double vitrage chacune. Le personnel est très prévenant et très efficace Si vous avez le budget n’hésitez pas un instant, réservez !

Tout en proposant une insonorisation parfaite, les fenêtres ne s’ouvrent pas beaucoup.

The hotel was in a perfect location. Close to the metro, restaurants and on Nanjing Road. The Bund was across the road. The hotel was spotless the room was huge and very comfortable and amazing! Highly recommend.

You could only use the pool if you wear a swimming cap. It is a government stipulation. A couple of the staff that were around the concierge although very nice, gave us incorrect information twice. We had done our own due diligence. One said we could only go on a lights cruise with a buffet meal - incorrect the other said we had to buy a metro ticket for the train to the airport, we explained we had been tagging on and off all trip, 5 days with our credit card, he seemed genuinely surprised…

Breakfast overrated

Breakfast: Exceptional. There was a wide variety of options from traditional chinese, japanese and western style. Stations for noodle soup, omelette and one preparing various chinese style pancakes. Fresh juices packaged in recyclable glass containers, extensive fruit options as well as dumplings. It is one of the best breakfast buffets that I've experienced. The only uncomfortable issue was parents letting their children go to the buffet touching or reaching into the platters. Location: Perfect location for exploring the Bund, for shopping and walking along the river parkway. Service: The entire staff is very accomodating, helpful and polite. The Gym and yoga room were well appointed.

Everything was great.

The history and art deco design of the building are fascinating and beautiful. The room we had was more like a suite with an entry foyer and a couch, coffee table, writing desk and dressing room.

The location is ideal. It is apparently a famous hotel so there are many tourists inside and out taking photos and selfie. Hotel is quaint old style european hotel. Very luxurious. Breakfast is £37pp so we took room only.

Nithing very bad to report. All ok. Minor points....We rearranged the room a little to suit our requirements fir the time we were there but the staff carefully reset it each day. When we arrived late at night there was no one on duty initially although someone came running up after a few minutes. The staff are if anything too helpful. All we wanted to do was go to sleep but we had to be told about all the facilities and the free museum tour on several occasions. The bellboy would not shut up although I gave him a good hip to get rid of him so maybe that was his plan!

Our week-long stay at the Peace Hotel truly made my parents and me feel at home. First and foremost, I want to thank the entire Fairmont Gold Lounge team for their warm welcome and professional, personalized service. Kevin, in particular, meticulously attended to every little request we had from the moment we arrived, striving to fulfill them all. Chef Owen of the Lounge also deserves special thanks; he diligently prepared a variety of delicious dishes throughout the week, perfectly satisfying our cravings for Shanghai cuisine, and he would proactively ask what we wanted to eat, ensuring it appeared on the menu the following day. Nina at the lounge, and the two gentlemen (I apologize for not noting their names), provided impeccable service every day. Thank you so much! Besides these, I also want to express my special gratitude to the housekeeping department, especially Anna, whose housekeeping was impeccable, even for our discerning palates. Carry also deserves special thanks for her attentiveness, carefully inquiring about the details of the cleaning, ensuring our comfort and enjoyment. Furthermore, the communication within the entire housekeeping team was simply superb. For example, I only mentioned the size of my bathrobe to Anna once, and to my surprise, the team didn't make a mistake even during the two days she was off duty. Additionally, I'd like to thank Leah from the Jasmine Lounge; her attitude and professionalism during breakfast service were truly commendable. Of course, there were many others whose names I didn't remember, such as the concierge, lobby staff, and parking attendants. It's safe to say that the service at the Peace Hotel is first-class, making guests feel warm, safe, and happy. I will definitely stay at the Peace Hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai.

Чисто! Вкусно! Отель красивый, реальный интерьер, выглядит лучше чем на фото, много элементов стиля можно разглядеть и потрогать в живую! Косметика в ванной хорошая. Музей отличный! Брали номер с видом на город. Поскольку здания на набережной расположены близко друг другу, получается вид на окна соседнего дома, поэтому , если не планируете сидеть в номере, берите вид во двор, так получится еще и с*экономить.

Экскурсия по отелю входила в стоимость проживания, жаль, что за выход на крышу пришлось доплачивать отдельно :( Номера с видом на город- шумные ночью. Матрас немного продавлен. В номере жила моль.

My recent stay at Fairmont Peace Hotel was exceptional in every way. The hotel itself is iconic and beautifully maintained, wonderfully comfortable, and perfectly located in the heart of Shanghai - but what truly sets it apart is its people. I have stayed at many fine hotels around the world, but I can honestly say that the level of warmth, attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care shown by the entire team at Fairmont Peace Hotel was unlike anything I have experienced before. Hospitality here feels deeply personal, thoughtful, and sincere. I would especially like to recognize a number of remarkable individuals whose kindness and professionalism made such an impression during my stay: 1) Kitty Wang, Duty Manager, went above and beyond in helping arrange treatment for my mother’s foot swelling, a gesture of genuine care that meant a great deal to us. 2) Kevin at check-in, who made our arrival seamless and welcoming. 3) Jack in the lobby, always warm, courteous, and ready to help. 4) Edward Yao at breakfast, exceptionally attentive and thoughtful, remembering the smallest details with remarkable care. 5) Michael Hu, helped make breakfast a consistently excellent experience. 6) Jerry, near the lobby lifts, always helpful and welcoming. 7) Ricky, at the door, a truly kind gentleman whose attentiveness toward my mother was deeply appreciated. 8) Lili, polite, and wonderfully courteous at breakfast. 9) Rachel, concierge, for her excellent assistance and professionalism. 10) Carl, for attentive and polished service at breakfast. 11) Billy Liang, at reception, consistently helpful, efficient, and professional. 12) Henry, Jazz bar bartender - Amazing drinks and thoughtfulness Please forgive me if I have missed mentioning others, because in truth, every interaction with the Fairmont team reflected the same exceptional standard. The people at Fairmont Peace Hotel are simply outstanding. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable.

The hotel was all quality.

Obviously, it is already quite expensive. I think the added 16.5% surcharge on everything is unreasonable.

It’s location and the hotel long history with its antic decors. Its staffs are very friendly and easy going. They are always eager to help you if you need them.

The room is a little bit dark during the day time. But it’s acceptable.

The peace hotel is a dream place .We liked it all. The history museum and talk by its curator was fascinating and fabulous.The art deco surtoundings are a delight. Every member of concierge team is so helpful, kind and offers so much help. The man who runs the fabulous breakfast is a true leader. A wonderful centrally located place to stay!

I had a great experience visiting the hotel. Hebe was an amazing host. She provided us with a lot of information and answered any questions we may have about the tour. I highly recommend this tour.

I really enjoyed myself here, since the guide, whose name was Hebe Zhang, not only showed me around the museum, but led us to the Chinese restaurant and even the rooftop of this hotel as well.

We were able to book a lovely tour and learn about the history of Shanghai and the hotel. A wonderful bilingual tour guide was very knowledgeable and helped show us parts of the hotel and shared history that can't be seen otherwise. The jazz bar and afternoon tea are highlights beyond the stay. A great experience!

Staying at the Fairmont Peace Hotel was an unforgettable experience. The hotel has a unique historical charm and a prime location on the Bund, with stunning views of Pudong. The rooms are elegant, clean and comfortable, and the service is thoughtful and professional. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety, and the jazz performance is a wonderful highlight. It’s truly the best choice to experience the glamour of old Shanghai.

It's the most beautiful hotel in Shanghai! Excellent service, luxurious rooms, and the best location for exploring the Bund. The Jazz Bar and the rooftop views are must-sees. A perfect 5-star stay that I would recommend to anyone visiting the city. I upgraded myself to the Signature Suite upon checking in.

Had the best time with my 4 year old and 6 year old. Melody and Max were beyond fantastic with all their help in ensuring we had the best time. Great restaurant recommendations and attention to detail by Melody and Max. My kids were so excited to see Max every morning. Tao was our housekeeping staff and she was so sweet to the kids and great attention to detail.

The architecture is very beautiful and there is a lot of intricate history here, the room i was staying in was also very beautiful and the staff were extremely kind. We also had a museum tour and it was so amazing to see all the rooms and the history in this place. The atmosphere is also so nice with the history of this building really showing and the art really brought that out. The amenities were also very nice with them bringing some fruits and I loved seeing the peace bird in the lobby and the plaster sculptures.

We chose to stay here during our trip after seeing many great online reviews, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The hotel is amazing, and we especially enjoyed the historic museum tour—it was fascinating and absolutely worth joining. It’s a wonderful experience for families. It gave my child a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Peace Hotel and Shanghai in an engaging way. I would highly recommend staying here for a family trip!

This is the so-called number 1 hotel in China from the historical perspective so we decided to stay there when visiting Shanghai for F1 Grand Prix. It goes without saying the location is at the hub of Shanghai, right next to 外灘 and 南京路. The subway station is also 2 blocks away within walking distance. The servants and concierge staff are top-notched, very experienced, friendly, and enthusiastic in helping. The dinner at 龍鳳廳 is a must-have if you're into Shanghainese cuisine. There is a museum inside the hotel demonstrating the history of this hotel that accommodated many presidents and leaders from all over the world since the 1920s.

The interior has wear-and-tear here and there, though they manage to keep it pretty clean. The jazz band (recommended by the hotel) is overrated (a a bit overpriced for their performance).
