The breakfast was good with both hot and cold items. The beds were comfortable and it was fairly quiet.

Apparently there had big a large number of people who had checked out that day, so when we arrived at 3:30 pm, they said that the room wasn’t ready. I asked if it would be ready by the 4 pm check in time and they said no. We had driven in from Edmonton and after 6 hours in the car, would have liked to freshen up before going to visit family; however since the room wasn’t ready, we had to go as is. The hotel is old, I believe it was the Travel Lodge and it appears that they are doing some renovations, but there was a chip on the tub, the hallways are in the process of being repainted, etc. It would have been nice to know that it was being renovated.

I was checked in and given a key to an occupied room. So I walked in on someone sleeping in the middle of the night. Staff laughed it off when I went back to the front desk and acted like it’s not a big deal and happens all the time.

Our room was on the ground floor so easy to move luggage in and out. The attached restaurant was a plus.

The property is worn. At first glance the restaurant is lovely but up closer examination all the chairs are worn and the imitation leather seats were cracked and peeling. Restaurant servers were loud and noisy as they gathered and socialized behind the bar.

The location was good, complimentary breakfast and service at the breakfast was amazing, the building was decent, etc. The staff was mixed. Mostly the staff was amazing. Only the Friday night staff member was NOT good. Whoever was on staff (woman) on Friday July 17th at night did not listen, ignored my booking and agreed upon price, was completely useless. However, the woman on Saturday morning was AMAZING, as was the staff Saturday night. They were understanding, overly accommodating and more. Overall the value was VERY GOOD. The only downsides were related to the rooms not being overly clean, complimentary items were not replenished and the not very good Friday night staff member.

Breakfast wasn’t quite as good as I was hoping. The scrambled eggs couldn’t be real eggs? Also on the date I stayed, the warm part of the breakfast wasn’t quite ready upon opening. Needed to rush for work.

The shower didn’t get warm (not even a little) and I think the fridge was defrosting as there was a puddle of water in the morning. Bed was comfortable and room otherwise was great.

The room was large. Nice marble looking tile in lobby and the bathroom in our room, but carpets look like they've been there since it was the Travellodge hotel.

Pool, hot tub and waterslide were closed days before we checked in, but they waited until 23.5 hours before we checked in to let us know, thus putting us inside the penalty window for cancelling. Then after check in we find out the AC doesn't work. Their work around is to put the thermostat to heat and turn the temp down so that you get the fan to cool it down at night with outside air. We were lucky they weren't having the normal hot Alberta weather. Laundry facilities are a single washer and dryer in the hotel down the street that they own, where we had to remove another persons laundry from the dryer that was cold before we started our wash. Same breakfast everyday, same peppery cheap sausages and canned ham that every Choices hotel seems to serve, never bacon. Some Canadian bacon in Canada would be nice.

The pool and hot tub were closed, We used to get breakfast by ordering off the menu but as per choice hotels they are starting to serve a small buffet style with limited hot choices. This hotel is still under remodeling.

The facility is an older motel in need of an update but it is very good value for what it is. I like to be able to drive up to an out side door for my room as it makes it easier to carry stuff to my room.

The property is relatively old, but the room we had was clean, and my kids loved the waterpark -- giant slide, shallow spray pool for toddlers, and the hot tub. The restaurant was already closed when we arrived, but they still accommodated us for a quick bite.

The breakfast was mediocre at best. Selection was limited and because we came late it had been sitting in warming trays a long time.

Room was freezing, we did not know that the heat was turned off. It was a cool night and the AC just kept blowing. The next day they brought us a portable electric heater which helped.

We had a ground floor room travelling with a mobility deficient person. We had to access the restaurant on the other side of the building to get him into the restaurant. Due to NO ramp at front entrance of restaurant. Food for breakfast was good. Beds were ok. If you want peace and quiet- it was very quiet . The pool looked very inviting. Rate was reasonable.

Not wheelchair friendly. Steps all over.. check in staff was not very helpful when it came to breakfast options. Was told we could order room service. They offered buffet for breakfast with the room. No chairs in room. Just the bed to sit on.

We were on the main floor which was great but we got put by the party room and they kept us up all night long banging on doors and yelling non stop. We couldn't access our door from outside where we parked because it wouldn't close properly

Stayed in the "Special Room", which was great for a family stay. Lots of space and bedding. Kids liked the pool, of course, and the free arcade games nearby. Also noticed that there were a lot of available washrooms throughout the hotel.

I found that the main negative from our experience was the lack of adequate supervision from some of the individuals in the pool area. Of course this does not reflect on the facility as a whole, however the lack of parental control during our time at the pool limited our enjoyment and accessibility of the pool, hot tub and waterslide.

Sorry but for the price it’s a dump. Mold on bathroom ceiling shower curtain. Sais renovated? It’s just paint slapped to hide mold water damage etc. Avoid.

Breakfast vouchers were usable for ANY item on the restaurant menu plus a drink of your choice on Sunday morning. Our family tried Huevos Rancheros, Chocolate Berry Waffles, Waffles with fruit side and bacon, and pancake with scrambled eggs. We also ate supper at restaurant the night before (you get 15 percent off with your room). There was a small buffet or menu selections (very reasonable prices even without the discount). Also heard live music from the lounge while were eating (every Sat. night, we were told). Our family also loves the pool area -- we have been coming here for years for our kids and now grandkids birthdays.

It was my two son's birthday ,ages 4 and 6. We wanted to book a staycation with a water slide and Clarion was a great fit. We booked the birthday package with the overnight stay. They gave us a party room for 3 hours And unlimited amount of guests could come and swim. The jacuzzi king suite cookies and a fruit basket upon arrival a cake was included . The staff was so accommodating and helpful. The renovations they have done to that place made it seem so next level the marble floor is beautiful. The jacuzzi has a see through edge it looks bougie . I am very glad that we chose to stay there. I will be back!

Came for the new brunch buffet. Great food, excellent service, perfect price! Will definitely be back! Family friendly.

We came to The Homesteader restaurant for the first time today. We had their new Sunday brunch. The food and service were both wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Sheets weren't clean & pillow cases had black specs on them. I didn't sleep a wink for fear of who's germs were on the sheets. When I demanded my money back they said I needed to inform them before 130am. Didnt see the dirty bedding until 2am. Will never stay at or recommend this hotel!!

The breakfast was amazing every day. It was not your typical continental, most days you ordered off a breakfast menu and served like in any restaurant. Or you could order it to go and it was packaged well. Staff was excellent not matter who we met. We had to stay for 26 days while between homes and everyone was so helpful and friendly, in every department at every time. Service from the hotel restaurant was great with delicious meals. I can only upload 8 photos but I took many more. Food portions were excellent, the pizzas in particular are a great price for the size as well as the huge fish and chips. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and that is not indicated anywhere, so be aware of that if traveling over a Monday. I had a couple of disappointments, such as the outdoor seating areas that are advertised not being available. One is completely gone and when I ate supper at the lounge one evening, I had been hoping to sit outside but I was told that isn't open except maybe for events. The area itself is a bit old and sketchy, with people going through the dumpster, garbage cans and cigarette butt stations daily, while Hotel patrons are sitting outside within feet. Several times we were approached for money or smokes. I feel that the hotel management should support it's staff and patrons with more security, making the premises No Trespassing, etc. But overall it was fine. I went to the Laundromat once, different building, but it was locked so I had to call the front office.

The shower drain was plugged and it overflowed, there were black smudges on the white comforter, the room beside smoked so much weed that I had to stuff towels under the lock off door to try and stop it from seeping in, the homeless that are clearly high walk around the building is extremely uncomfortable.

The jacuzzi was in terrible condition. It was very dirty. I don't think it was ever cleaned. It was really very unsaitory. We did not go in it.

Stay here twice in the last 2 months and it has been a nice change. No high cost and breakfast is off the menu t the restaurant. Real eggs! For the price I pay it’s clean and a bargain.

My family of 6 really enjoyed it here! The room was clean, Spacious and comfortable. The waterpark was awesome! My kids ages are 9-15 and they all loved it! The breakfast was great! Nice and fresh and lots of variety in food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. We would definitely stay here again!

Dated carpets, furniture and lamps being broken. Flies in the room. Rickety fridge with water seeping when opened. Small bathroom with sink outside the bathroom. Only hot water in the shower, no cold water option. The a/c not working, the beds were inclined towards the floor. Overall poor quality accomodation for the price.

It’s an old building with some facelift. Feels dirty and old, if we didn’t pre pay we would have left. Free Breakfast was 9/10 tho! Hot tub was peeling paint and needs to be redone.

The Clarion Point is a great place to stay in Medicine Hat! Staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean, dining excellent and the waterside is great for kids. The rooms are budget friendly!
