Nous avons eu l’agréable surprise d’être surclassés dans une suite. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce geste, ainsi que les fruits frais qui nous attendaient à notre arrivée dans la chambre. La chambre, avec sa vue sur la piscine, était superbe et très confortable. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié les petits-déjeuners, qui étaient variés et de qualité. Une très belle expérience.

The hotel team was very kind in addressing a problem that arose with my family's travel. We are very grateful to them.

Extremely disappointing – not what we expected from an all-inclusive hotel We stayed at Vila Galé Santa Cruz while my daughter was attending a skating camp nearby. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we have experienced, and I would struggle to recommend this hotel to anyone considering an all-inclusive holiday. For an all-inclusive hotel, there is remarkably little to do. There were no daytime or evening activities, and the advertised live music did not happen during our stay. If you are expecting the usual all-inclusive atmosphere and entertainment, you may be very disappointed. The hotel also does not appear to be properly set up to operate as an all-inclusive hotel. The bar was regularly unattended, resulting in long waits just to get a drink. Even worse, trying to obtain items from the advertised snack menu was unnecessarily difficult, with some items apparently unavailable or extremely difficult to get. The buffet selection was poor, strange and repetitive, but my biggest concern was the complete lack of confidence I had in the arrangements for guests with allergies. I have a fish allergy, yet fish was frequently positioned immediately next to other dishes. This creates an obvious and entirely avoidable risk of cross-contamination. I would not feel comfortable relying on the buffet if I had a serious allergy. The pasta chef was actually very good and was one of the few consistently positive aspects of the dining experience. Unfortunately, some of the restaurant staff were also far from welcoming. On one occasion, a waitress tried to remove my plate while I was still eating simply because I had put my fork down while having a drink. I had to stop her and explain that I had not finished. Sunbeds – rules that apparently mean nothing! The hotel’s sunbed policy is another example of rules being advertised but not actually enforced. We found two completely unoccupied sunbeds and used them for around two hours. A French couple then returned and aggressively attempted to move my daughter from one of the beds, insisting that they were “theirs” and swore at us in French (I’m a fairly fluent French speaker so knew exactly what they were saying). I reported this to the duty manager, who was about as useful as a chocolate teapot in the heat. He refused to speak to the other guests and simply told me that he would “keep an eye on them”. Why have a rule about reserving sunbeds if the hotel has absolutely no intention of enforcing it? Housekeeping was hit and miss. On one occasion we were out for the entire day and returned to find the room had not been serviced. On another, we went out for the day, returned and went to dinner, only to come back and find the room then being serviced. Towels were also taken away without being replaced. Basic housekeeping should not be something guests have to chase. We booked a twin room but instead had to share a super-king bed with my daughter, with only one quilt. Needless to say, this was not particularly comfortable. The bed itself was also uncomfortable, which certainly didn’t help. I also agree with previous reviewers regarding the lack of useful information in English in the room. For an international hotel, this seems a basic omission. There were numerous smaller things that contributed to the feeling that this hotel simply isn’t being managed to the standard we expected. Seeing a man asleep on a sofa immediately beside the restaurant was hardly the most professional impression. Late opening of the breakfast buffet most days was a bind as we had to be out for training at 8am. Advertised entertainment didn’t take place. Basic services were inconsistent. Rules weren’t enforced. Staff attitudes varied considerably. The food offering was disappointing, and the arrangements for allergies left me genuinely concerned. This isn’t about expecting luxury or expecting everything to be perfect. It is about expecting a hotel to deliver the service and facilities it advertises. For us, Vila Galé Santa Cruz simply didn’t. Very disappointing and definitely not an all-inclusive experience I would choose to repeat.

Arrived 12th July and stayed for nine nights on an all inclusive basis. The hotel itself is lovely as is the surrounfing area. Very close to the airport so really enjoyed watching the planes landing and taking off. The staff were lovely, especially in the reception where they were friendly and helpful. The bedrooms were good, very comfortable beds, although the cleaning could have been a bit better. However, no tea and coffee making facilities which is unusual for a supposedly four star hotel. But a kettle was supplied on request along with various teas, coffee etc. and one small bottle of water. None of which were replenished and we had to carry large glass bottles of water to our room every day. There was an information folder in our room but none of it was in english! The food was disappointing to say the least. Breakfast buffet was adequate, but no change. The same every day. And one day there was no orange juice, and we were told there wasn't going to be any! Lunch and evening buffet very disappointing. Poor qualithy meats, not much imagination. Tasteless and boring. Even in the a la carte restaurant the food was awful. One lunchtime we decided to order from the cafe -toasted sandwich and chips. after a very long wait I decided to go and see what the delay was, only to find our meals sitting on the bar stone cold! Appaling service. Very disappointed in the drinks in the evenings. We were given a list of all the drinks available to all inclusive guests. However, after the first night they ran out of brandy. And then they ran out of their equivalent of baileys. Towards the end of the week they had to go looking for gin and vodka. But had plenty of whisky apparently. Disgraceful. Very bad management. Some of the sunbeds could do with replacing - torn and sagging in the middle. Quite uncomfortable. And for two whole days one complete side of the pool area was closed for cleaning, so no sunbeds that side. Does that really have to be done during high season? No information given. Very disappointed. In our opinion this is not a four star hotel and we will never return or recommend it.

Very good pool and friendly staff. The breakfast is good and the buffet for dinner is great. The live-cooking is fun to watch, especially the pasta-chef Octavio.

Choisir un Hotel Vila Galé est sans aucun doute une valeur sûre! Hôtel magnifique, en bord de mer, à 15-20 minutes de Funchal. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la gentillesse du staff, le calme et les prestations proposées.

we had breakfast and dinner included, they won't give you a single glass of water, water and drinks are not included! it's ridiculous! for a glass of water to drink food you will pay another 4 euros! rude untrained staff, I constantly asked them where I can go, and what do you have? and how to get there or there, they don't tell you anything on their own. Sandra at the reception constantly meets you with such a disgruntled face as if you came to her house and stole money. the restaurant employees are good and quite nice people, the food is terrible, there is no meat or fish, there is one point during the course where one chef fries fish and meat one small piece at a time. and ALL, I repeat once again ALL hotel guests stand in this queue to get a tiny piece of meat or fish. I stood in line for 25 minutes, the line was long, a woman who looked like she was the manager stood at the back and laughed. This is not funny, I paid to eat, there was no food! The hotel and the room are great, if you are going there, do not pay for food, go to restaurants on the neighboring streets, this hotel will rip you off and not give you food. There are not enough sunbeds by the pool, maybe 30-35. Not enough for this hotel. I asked to pay for a late check-out, they refused me, saying that the hotel was full, although on the website 75% of the rooms were empty on Wednesday, June 24.

Zimmer mit Ausblick direkt aufs Meer wirklich toll, Badezimmer - naja (hatten leider eine Badewanne), aber das ist halt Geschmackssache! Wir hatten (gsd) nur Frühstück gebucht - Auswahl ok, aber durch die doch vielen Urlauber waren z.B. die Kaffeemaschinen mehr als "belagert" & uns persönlich war es viel zu laut im Frühstücksraum. Gsd konnten wir das eine oder andere Mal auf der Terasse frühstücken

Arrivés sur l’île sans hôtel réservé, cet établissement a été notre point de chute de dernière minute. À quelques minutes seulement de l’aéroport, l’emplacement est particulièrement pratique. Les chambres sont spacieuses et le rapport qualité-prix quasiment imbattable. Mention spéciale également à l’accueil de Katia à 23h50, absolument irréprochable.

On est ici davantage sur un produit “all inclusive”, fréquenté principalement par des retraités ou de jeunes familles avec enfants courant réserver les transats dès le matin. Si vous recherchez un hôtel romantique, intimiste ou typique, passez votre chemin. Les chambres, bien que propres, sont un peu vieillottes. Quant à l’expérience du petit-déjeuner, elle m’a laissé sans voix : une horde de touristes dévalisant le buffet dans un brouhaha improbable, rappelant rapidement les limites du tourisme de masse…

Très bel hôtel pour un séjour à Madère 🌴 Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les infrastructures pour les enfants, avec la petite pataugeoire/piscine et le toboggan 🛝, parfaits pour les petits. La vue sur les avions était aussi un vrai plus, surtout pour les enfants qui adorent regarder les décollages ✈️ Petit geste très apprécié également : le petit-déjeuner préparé pour notre départ très matinal avec le premier vol du matin. Une attention qui fait plaisir ! Les soirées organisées par l’hôtel étaient sympathiques et l’ensemble du personnel était accueillant et souriant 😊 Malgré cela, nous avons passé un très bon séjour et gardons un beau souvenir de cet hôtel ☀️

Quelques petits points négatifs malgré tout : * l’eau de la piscine était très froide ; * il faut réserver la piscine intérieure, ce qui est un peu dommage ; * et il n’y avait pas toujours quelqu’un disponible pour la réception des linges. Mon conjoint a dû attendre un bon moment avant que quelqu’un vienne récupérer son linge personnel. Autre petit bémol : certains membres du staff ne parlaient pas portugais. Mon conjoint parlant la langue, cela l’a un peu surpris dans un hôtel situé au Portugal.

We booked this hotel through Jet2 travelling from the UK. Let me first say this hotel is Portuguese owned and they clearly do not welcome or appreciate British customers. There is no information in the room in English and very little anywhere else. Jet2 should not be sending their British customers here. The reception staff were borderline hostile to us in the main, ignorant mostly. Never felt so unwelcome on holiday. We were bed and breakfast so ate in the resort largely. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. The hotel was very clean throughout. I have never stayed at a 4 star hotel before that has no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Very poor in my opinion. You can hire a kettle from reception? Whether you can also buy tea and coffee making items I don’t know as we didn’t hire a kettle. Seems ridiculous for what you pay that there is nothing to make a drink with. I would never ever return to this or any other hotel in this chain. You are happy to take our money, don’t be so rude and hostile to paying guests.

Good shower over bath. Freshly cooked eggs for breakfast. Very clean.

Far too big. Generally tired, e.g. rusty bath, uncomfortable mattress. Breakfast was frenzied, with food choices running out faster than they could be replaced. There wasn't too much choice to begin with. Silly price.

Wonderful location close to airport and right on the beach.

Wybraliśmy ten hotel ze wzgledu na położenie blisko lotniska. Spędziliśmy tu tylko jedna noc przed wylotem, ale zdecydowanie mogłabym tu spędzić więcej czasu. Obsługa bardzo życzliwa i pomocna. Mieliśmy pokój z przepieknym widokiem na ocean i lądujące samoloty, co było bardzo ciekawym doświadczeniem i nam bardzo się podobało. Dodatkowo rano był przepiekny wschód słońca nad oceanem widoczny z naszego balkonu. Dostepny duzy basen z widokiem na ocean. Pokój wystarczająco duży, czysto. Śniadanie różnorodne, smaczne. Hyggeligt hotel med gode rummelige værelser, sødt personale og underholdning. Sengen var behagelig og udsigten flot.

Der var ikke fuldstændig rent på badeværelset og vi fandt hår i badet.

Im gesamten Haus viel zu düster! Man glaubt, die Beleuchtung funktioniert nur zur Hälfte. Im Zimmer, Frühstücksraum un d in der Bar!

The airport was very close, but it was not a problem for us. The services were great. However, the parking is not free! There are some places where it is free in front of the hotel, but in the parking lot it is 10€. Nagyszerű a szállás! Közel a reptér, de nem volt zavaró! A parkolás ingyenes a szálloda előtt, de csak néhány hely van! Bent a mélygarázsban már 10€/nap.

Miejscowość Santa Cruz bardzo kameralna, restauracja ROTA DOS SABORES z lokalną kuchnią, ponchą i biką umilała wieczory. Lokalizacja w bliskim sąsiedztwie z lotniskiem, widok z balkonu na pas startowy stał się atrakcją o poranku. Kuchnia w samym hotelu bardzo Nas zachwyciła- duży wybór oraz show cooking- omlety, pancakes i jaja sadzone. Basen z saunami i zewnętrznym basenem również w lutym umilały wieczory. Gorąco polecamy wybór hotelu Vile Galle w Santa Cruz. Maderę polecamy z wypożyczeniem samochodu i zwiedzaniem we własnym tempie- stolica zachwyca, Wawrzyniec urzeka, Achadas da Cruz zachwyca surowym pięknem... W samej stolicy polecamy baseny lawowe DOCA DO CAVACAS z świetną restauracją z tarasem i widokiem na klif. Polecamy ;)

Everything. Where it was situated, close to the beach, the shops, restaurants. Excellent breakfast and entertainment. Staff were friendly and approachable. Rooms were large and airy. Beds very comfortable. High standard of cleanliness throughout.

никак не могла найти вход в бассейн. На ресепшене не рассказали об услугах, которыми можно воспользоваться. В номере нет халата и тапочек. Нет полотенец для бассейна в номере. Их выдают у самого бассейна. Мы уезжали очень рано и попросили завтрак с собой. К сожалению, все что дали было не свежее. Я считаю, что цена не соответствует качеству услуг

Staff were pleasent.

Hotel dacor, very gloomy and dark. Our room had only 4 small side lamps, and one of those didn't work. You have to unplug lights to cjarge your phone. Maybe more sockets needed. The hotel carpark entrance was awkward, and the hotel charges €10 per night for guests to keep your car there, that is higher than typical airport charge.

Underbart hotell nära flygplatsen med inomhus och utepool. Mycket god mat.
