We loved our stay at the Tulloch Castle Hotel. It was interesting to stay in a building that is so old and has so much history. Our room itself, one of the cozy doubles, was indeed quite cozy (on the cramped side). The location was a little bit inconvenient as there really is not much within a short walking distance of the hotel itself. Views are stunning, there were sheep in the field behind the hotel. Overall a very nice stay.
We had a great time at this castle! Scott in the bar was fantastic. The food was very good too. We did the ghost tour. It was fun. No ghost seen but a very funny guest from Australia hid in the stairwell and gave me a scare!
Check in was exceptional. Thank you Paul! The staff were amazing! I highly recommend this gem.
Staff were very friendly and the hotel was very nice. Food in the restaurant and bar were marginal at best but still best option for the area. Bring shampoo and bathing soap as they were not supplied. Loved the Inverness and Dingwall region highly recommended for a quite picturesque vacation with really friendly people
A nice and unique stay in a castle with some history. Very clean, easily accessible and smoke parking.
Very cool hotel with great staff. Big room very comfortable and castle like. Wonderful staff and amenities
Great ambience.
Very clean room, very helpful staff. easy parking and beautiful view from our balcony. only negative was no lift for luggage but age of hotel building probably does not allow. staff offered but we brought our luggage up.
The hotel is off the beaten path and sits above Dingwall and anyone taking mass transportation to Dingwall should be aware that taxi and bus service to the property is limited. If you are carrying light luggage, and you are healthy and feel inclined, you can walk the 20 minutes from the train terminal. I cannot overstate that the walk is all uphill! Dingwall is very quaint and small, so there are only a couple of spots to get food or a pint of ale before 3 pm, but the property has a nice pub and food prices are relatively comparable.
We absolutely loved our stay here! Everyone was super friendly and the food was to die for!!!!
Tulloch was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and informative of the history of the castle. Breakfast and supper were delicious.
Room were clean and comfortable. Food was very good.
All staff we had contact with were pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean except for some black hair in the bath. The bed was generally comfortable other than an indentation half way down the left side. Plenty of parking. Our dinner was nice and just the right amount.
Clean room and a unique hotel
Breakfast was a good choice, easy parking. Room at the very top. Dated and furniture was broken on a unit. Expect to climb stairs as no lifts but staff offered to help.. should have said yes!. Negative was cancelled check in by 3pm yet cannot get anything to eat until 5.30 in the bar.. so not great as travelled thinking could get food on arrival.
Wonderful overnight stay. Wish we could have stayed longer
Everything was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Great blend of comfort, tradition with history. The dining was exceptional.
Beautiful castle with lovely food and good selection of whisky in the bar. The four poster room was lovely and spacious. Lots of stories about ghosts but no sighting seat !
The balcony room had wonderful views. Dinner was delicious.
Excellent stay. Stephen in the bar/restaurant was brilliant. Did the ghost tour which was fun.
We booked a 2 night stay in a cosy room as part of our anniversary celebration. The room is 3 floors up and no elevator so beware if you have a lot of luggage. The biggest issue was that there was no water pressure. The shower was practically useless and even though we raised it with reception there was nothing they could do. Needless to say it was very disappointing as the staff did not offer any alternative. Also there are no phones in the room so if you want to speak to reception you need to go 3 flights down and up. Definitely not a 4 star as advertised in Hotels.com
Sad it was only overnight. Gem of a place. Tastefully and imaginatively furnished with Victorian and contemporary style decor. Spacious. Great bed. Chandelier. Delicious food. Great staff. Would recommend anyone staying in the Innverness area to stay here. Great value for money.
We had a wonderful stay at Tulloch Castle! We were greeted by Paul when we arrived. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property. He was entertaining and his commitment to his job was evident by the fact that he was there even thought it was his day off. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and a delicious dinner at the restaurant. The balcony off our room was the perfect place for a nightcap and coffee in the morning. The views of the city from the balcony were stunning. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of food. We can't wait to return someday!
The in-house restaurant salmon dish was the by far the most delicious we ate during our Scotland tour
Amazing room and service. Loved the balcony and view.
C’est un très bel hôtel, surtout si vous voulez dormir dans un château en Ecosse.
Everything was great except the service at Dinner. We barely saw our server and had to ask for her after waiting 20+ minutes to order dessert. Everything else about the staff and hotel was great. Very interesting place.
Castle was as advertised and rooms were clean and spacious. Some staff were nice others were a little rude.
At check-in, it took 20 minutes to find someone at reception (10pm) After roaming around, I found the on-duty individual in the bar area. Then, there were major issues with water pressure (too weak) and tenperature (lukewarm at best). Not exciting after a long drive with two small kids. They apologized, but it hardly helps when paying over $300 for a night. The room was very simple and basic, nothing to be excited about - I'd expect more from an upscale castle hotel. They might have nice suites, but don't trust pictures if you are going for cheaper options.
loved staying in this castle--one of my favorite experiences in Scotland!
Great visit!! Will definitely recommend you to friends..
A true castle experience. Booked standard room, but Tullock Castle standards are heads and shoulders above others!!
Wanted to stay here for many years. Final had the opportunity. Nice meal in the bar. Friendly staff.
The staff were so friendly especially Laura at the front desk. Staying at the Tulloch castle was the perfect ending of my Scotland trip.
Quaint unique hotel with a real castle feel.
Great place to stay and a very good restaurant. Neat backstory and great views.
Loved the ambience & the history of the property.
Staff were very pleasant and the Davidson room is amazing!
It was an wonderful experience to be able to stay in the Tulloch Castle. The dedicated staff was exceptional. The Balcony room was a treat to stay in. I will tell all my friends of this wonderful
Loved this place!! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were gorgeous and the location felt intimate and secluded while still being very close to amenities.
What a lovely place to stay. All staff are absolutely fantastic. Excellent food, could not fault a thing. Very clean and the tour of the hotel comes highly recommended as the tour guide was extremely informative. Would stay here again on our next tour of Scotland 😃
A legitimate castle! We traveled as a family here, had the honor of staying in the Mackenzie Apartment - holy cow! It was huge, beautiful, and super comfortable. Food was delicious, people were so friendly and helpful, highly recommend the Tulloch Castle - it’ll check all the boxes.
Great place and helpful staff. Dinner in bar was really tasty
Our family had the honor of staying in the Mackenzie Apartment - so cool! And HUGE. It’s a legit castle experience without totally breaking the bank. Staff was so friendly, beds were comfortable, food was delicious. Amazing overall stay.
We had the balcony room which was lovely.
This an old building with simple rooms. The interiors are showing their age. The white company shower gel and shampoo is a nice touch.
Fantastic suite, extremely comfortable stay. All staff were lovely and should be commended.
The hospitality was great. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious!! You do need to make reservations. The room was super cute and there is parking on site. Will definitely visit again.
Big well appointed rooms. Beautifully done bathroom. Excellent ambiance. Tiny things need improved on. Window latches, heat from the radiators versus having to use a space heater. Overall it was a cute stay.
Tulloch was amazing had bookedca four poster bedroom and got a free upgrade to the best room in the castle. Staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Plenty to choose from the menu and pastries and cold breakfast. Would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend staying there
It had some quirks but made it all memorable!
The castle was really nice has a small bar and a restaurant inside. Ghost story told a bit late at night 10:30 but was interesting. The beds were comfy.
I wanted to experience a night in a castle to celebrate my retirement. When I arrived I was speechless. My room was bigger than my apartment, is called the Oak Room because it is made of oak. The copper bath tub was amazing but don’t take a bath until after 7 if you want hot water. Paul was an amazing guest host. I would go back again for sure!!!
What an excellent stay we had at Tulloch! The staff and servers were so kind and the food was absolutely fantastic.
Great location for Dingwall & NC500. A little tired & lacking atmosphere but comfortable & clean!
Friendly staff and beautiful grounds for a pleasant stay. The breakfast service was fast and delicious.
Lovely hotel in a great location
Everything was just grand.
Comfort and cleanliness, good view and beautiful large room. Very rich and tasty breakfast to be served. Highly recommend👍
Spacious rooms, friendly staff.
Booked 2 rooms, they both had heating on full and were too hot, room 1 radiator switched off but the window was broken, the rope was snapped and would not open, room 2 radiator would not switch off but the window did open, when I asked staff for a little help as the rooms were uncomfortable, just told it was an old building, not much help really when rooms are too hot to be comfortable in. In summary nice place but the staff were not friendly and rooms too hot.
Loved this hotel! An old castle that has been renovated into a quaint boutique hotel. 22 rooms. Beautiful location, gounds and hotel. Rumored to be haunted! We were given a late night tour of the property by Rodney. It was the most amazing experience ever. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and excited to share his experiences and hotel with us. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was an amazing experience. Rodney is an absolute gem!!!
While house hunting found good accommodation
Room was fine. Food was good. Although both grossly overpriced. However, everything else was a disaster. The entire property is under renovation/construction. Which was never disclosed at any point during the reservation, the confirmation, or subsequent automated communications. Staff didn't even acknowledge there was renovations/constructions, even though everything looked like a war zone, and moving around was actually a hazard. Because of this, no common area was accessible. The dining room was closed (probably under renovation) and transferred to some small rather depressing room which could have been any dive in London. The next morning, construction/renovation started at 8 in the morning, right outside the door. Including workers playing music. When I raised the issue at front desk, I was met with utter contempt. Similar to when I checked in when the only greeting was that I was apparently early (and clearly an inconvenience. This shows a level of contempt for guest that is highly unusual outside of Scotland. The price charged under the circumstances is therefore far, far too much.
ROOM 6 Room was cold on arrival. Even the oil heater provided didnt makebmuch difference. Frost (and condensation) on inside of window in the morning. Problem with heating. No hot water in shower or handbasin taps. Receptionist, young male server and food were excellent.
The hotel is a quaint and very comfortable small castle that has all the charm and modern conveniences you would hope for. The staff are amazing, welcoming and informative. Breakfast was well worth it and the food is excellent. Will definitely be coming back!
Had a lovely stay at the Tulloch Castle Hotel. Staff great. Very clean. Only down side was less than perfect water pressure in shower but bathroom itself was lovely. Look forward to returning.
We enjoyed our stay here. The property was well maintained and the staff were friendly. There wasnt much to do within walking distance but that’s okay because it was very quiet and there was a restaurant/bar there.
The walled garden rooms are not worth $500 a night at all. Breakfast and the staff were lovely, as was the castle and grounds. Only stay if you can stay in the castle... in my opinion!
Great stay in one of the top 2 bedroom suites. Very spacious rooms and living room in the suite. Great restaurant and bar
We had a fantastic 2 night stay. Our suit was gorgeous. Tasteful design, amazingly comfortable bed, great facilities in the room even tangerine bath salts and radox for the bath! The rest of the castle, while a bit dated is quirky and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Even puppy Hecter was there to say goodbye when we checked out. Dinner was nice. Reasonably priced, well cooked duck and venison and gorgeous chocolate delice! The only downside to our stay was the quite terrible breakfast which was completely not in keeping with the rest of stay. We would definitely stay at the castle again and just pop out for breakfast l!
Cool piece of history! Nice rooms. Really friendly staff.
Lovely castle hotel. Staff very friendly and food excellent. Room was comfy however there was minimal Phone/internet signal but actually the is was quite nice
Stunning
Loved the castle experience! Beautiful views and lovely room with balcony.
We stayed in the elegant Davidson Room on the main floor. Very nice accommodation.
Getting here got confusing. GPS messed us up but the castle is charming and we have had a great time.
Welcome was 1st class. Bright, cheerful, witty, lady at reception. Was most helpful. Big smile the whole time. Room was very nice, clean. Fresh looking. The Castle is obvioulsy very old but in nice condition. All the staff we saw, in restaurant and the Bar were also helpful, accommodating and pleasant. The food in the Bar was exceptional. Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing, we didnt like the Black Pudding but everything else in the Scottish Breakfast was lovely. All in all a lovely place to stop by.
This was a unique stay in a castle of the Davison clan, which is my friends heritage that we are traveling with. So neat to visit the Davidson museum.
It was impressive to have the opportunity to sleep in a castle. The room offered plenty of space for our family of 3. We also had a great view from our window (plenty of sheeps!). We appreciated our stay at this hotel.
Amazing property that oozes history. Morning breakfasts were delicious.
Good value for money castle hotel...which is not too expensive
Loved it what a beautiful location one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had thank you!
Our evening meal was exceptional. All in all the hotel was fabulous however I would say that in places it could be doing with a little updating and some TLC. However we loved our stay and I would recommend this hotel.
Absolutely gorgeous place. We booked the Oak Suite and every touch was first class, from the copper bathtub stocked with bubble bath and slippers to the comfortable bed.
Reception area very nice. Room dated, kettle was on the floor, no handwash, unusual bed sheet which didn't cover the whole mattress. Room was very disappointing after seeing the reception area. Bar area was nice and nice location. Restaurant was very poor. Old tired decor and laminated menus. Our wine glasses had fill lines on them. The menu was very uninspiring and seemed like it hadn't been updated in 10 years. Scallops were chewy. Venison dish was dry and seemed like it had been heated up in a microwave. Chicken and haggis was bland and boring. The restaurant was a huge letdown for us and spoiled our stay at the hotel overall. 35 quid for three courses, absolutely not worth it. Nobody asked us at checkout how we had found our stay, if they had i would have explained. We would not stay here again and felt this hotel was very overpriced for what we got. I think they're riding on the building being very grand and historic, without actually putting any effort into the hotel
An interesting night at the castle, good food, lots of history from the staff and a fun ghosts tour for late night entertainment. We enjoyed our night at the castle. Steve - Canada
Mattress and pillows fell short of what I would have expected from such a prestigious hotel.
Lovely large room with chandeliers, rugs and trimmings I would expect in a scottish castle. Separate bathroom well appointed. Staff were friendly. Nice view from room and surrounding gardens lovely and rural. Restaurant meal was lovely and right up there as a favourite meal for our trip. Parking was handy. No lift so expect to carry bags upstairs.
lovely room! lovely bar and dinner! there was a tour group there, so i’m sure they uggraded our room which was awesome! copper tub. huge room. reading nook. just amazing. and the tour group had a bagpipe demonstration right next door that i had to crash…such a nice treat
I hope we were in the worst room in the hotel (no 1). It had 2 connecting doors outside and as well as the banging from these, they also caused our door to rattle. The room was freezing and the central heating didn’t turn on. We have stayed in much better hotels this year which cost half as much.
Great castle, nice room.
Beautiful apartment ! Stunning views ! Will not soon forget this stay.
Beautiful hotel. Great place
Renovation needed Staff inexperienced/ uncomfortable feeling Restaurant food OK, but too expensive.
it was a beautifully maintained castle.
The staff was very nice and very helpful and flexible as our son was not feeling well. They helped us with laundry last minute and very accomodating. Highly recommend.
Very comfortable but those stairs!!!
Very quaint property. A little tired looking but bathroom was new. Lots and lots of stairs with no lift Great breakfast
