The location and view were nice

We were very disappointed. The hotel is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but it did not feel like 5-star quality at all. When we arrived late in the evening, the room was clean, but it was not properly prepared for our arrival. The bed did not have proper bedding, and the refrigerator was not working and was warm. The luggage service was also poorly organized. The staff told us to go to the room and that they would bring our bags, but the luggage did not arrive. We had to call several times before it was finally brought to us. At a 5-star hotel, we expected the staff to assist us properly, bring the luggage promptly, and make sure everything was ready when we arrived. The pool did not feel clean, and the towels were old, hard, rough, and did not feel fresh. The gym was too hot and did not function properly, and the hammam did not match what was advertised. The breakfast and food were also below our expectations. The manager was not very helpful, and we felt that Turkish guests received more attention and better service than we did. Considering the price we paid and the fact that the hotel is advertised as 5-star, we expected much better quality, service, cleanliness, and organization.

Viele Stühle im Restaurant oder Poolbereich hatten keine Armlehnen und wurden entfernt da brüchig. Es braucht mal eine Aktion um dies in Ordnung zu bringen. Der Preis war in Ordnung und zahlbar.

Die Lage ist sehr toll. Das Hotel ist wirklich schön. Die Einrichtung vom Hotel hat uns sehr gefallen, es war eher osmanisch eingerichtet. Man sah, dass es inspiriert war an die osmanische Kunst. Es hingen Bilder die alte Kunst zeigte, mit einer Erklärung die unten zu sehen war. Das Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt, es war abwechslungsreich, sowohl Frühstück als auch Mittagsessen und Abendessen. Der Pool war sauber. Die Mitarbeiter putzen die ganze Lage jede Nacht komplett, sowohl Pool als auch das Hotel. Der Service war sehr gut, wir wurden öfters gefragt ob etwas fehlt, ob sie uns etwas bringen können, was das Getränk betrifft. Es war wirklich sehr schön. Der Strand ist direkt beim Hotel. Die Zimmer sind auch gut ausgestattet. Die Minibar wurde jedentag komplett gefüllt mit Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Wasser und Sprudelwasser. Das Zimmer war auch sauber. Die Aussicht vom Zimmer war atemberaubend schön. Niemand war aufdringlich um etwas zu verkaufen, sei es Mini Market, Frisör oder Teppisch/Taschen Verkäufer und Spa. Am Tag wurden viele Aktivitäten vorgeschlagen, wie Yoga, Wassergym und so weiter. Unser Highlight waren die Bilder und die Einrichtung des Hotels, man sah so viele kleine Details, wie die Decke des Lobys handbemalt wurde oder die osmanischen alten Bilder mit einer Erklärung, vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ein Historiker unter uns mit war.

Ehrlich gesagt haben wir nichts gefunden, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Vielleicht nur, dass es Abends nicht viel Aktivität gemacht wurde. Es gab glaub ich Dienstags und Donnerstags eine Tanzshow, Montag eine Dj Party und das wars, aber ganz ehrlich man braucht das überhaupt nicht, wenn man in 5-10 min in der Stadt ist und sich auch dort amusieren kann.

After mentioning we were on our honeymoon, we were surprised with a beautifully decorated room with breathtaking views and a complimentary fruit basket. The hotel offers stunning views from every corner, and the sandy beach is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds. The all-inclusive food was excellent with lots of variety, and the cocktails were okay. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Everyone was warm, friendly, and always willing to help. The location is also perfect, you can walk to the marina, the city center, and even the Bodrum Windmills.

Nothing worth mentioning. We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel.

Poor wifi in the room, steam bath often did not operate. The TV in the room seldom worked. We booked in on Monday and they only got the minibar fridge operational on Friday.

Breakfast was poor and also very limited options and not really catering for international guests it seems. English breakfast tea was not an option, only Turkish. For our entire stay, the elevators were not working and our room was on the top floor. The hotel and staff are good but for the price I paid I was expecting a bit more value for money.

As soon as i checked in and wanted to shower, the bathroom had water all over the floor and the shower had issues and the shower head was very slow. I called them and they said will fix it, but I'm there for only 2 days do i have time to wait for my shower after a long flight?. I went downstairs to eat and they charged me for food instead of making it up for me with bathroom problems. After i finished eating i went to the room to shower and the water wasn't going through it was messed up and they said someone fixed it. Nothing was fixed and i don't recommend wasting time in this hotel as they claim it 5 stars. It's a 3 star hotel not 5 realistically speaking.

Staff largely unable to communicate in English, frequently rude, and unhelpful. A luxury yacht excursion was sold but replaced with a basic residential boat. Jacuzzi not working, indoor swimming pool closed, and bar menu misrepresented (9 beers advertised, only 1 available). These failures breached: UK Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 Despite raising the matter with both the hotel and Booking.com, my request for a refund has been refused. Action Requested: I am requesting that Santander, under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, refund the full amount of $1,800 USD (approx. £[insert]) to my credit card, as the services purchased were misrepresented and not provided as contracted. I enclose: Copy of Booking.com confirmation and payment record. Copies of complaint correspondence with Salmakis Resort & Spa. My formal complaint letter to Booking.com. The hotel’s refusal to refund. Please treat this as a formal Section 75 / chargeback request. La posizione e la vista sulla baia di Bodrum è davvero il punto forte di questo hotel che è ancora affascinante, sebbene datato. Nostra grande delusione è stata una pulizia pessima non tanto della camera ma della sala ristorante oltre che alla percezione di una mancanza di una valida e professionale direzione. Le stelle a mio parere restano solo per la posizione!

The swimming pool area is really nice ! The rooms are comfy, quiet and big. The cleaning is perfect. Staff is really helpful. Breakfast is amazing.

The spa is not incredible. The beach deck chairs are broken and couldn't find a decent place... Careful ! If dinner isn't included, the restaurant is not really accessible (or really expensive...)

We have been to Salmakis a number of times and I was disappointed to see how the facilities have deteriorated and the common areas; beach and pool is not well maintained. I don’t think we will be back sadly.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Salmakis resort and spa– A Review of a ‘5-Star’ Hotel That Deserves a 1-Star Rating I am writing to express my complete and utter disappointment with my stay at Salmakis resort and spa, which I booked a year in advance for what was supposed to be a special and relaxing trip after loosing both my parents, Instead, it ended up being a nightmare that ruined my entire vacation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I feel compelled to share my experience in the hopes that future guests avoid the same terrible ordeal. 1. Service From the moment I arrived, the service was appalling. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait over an hour to check in, with no explanation or apology from the staff. The front desk was disorganized, and when I was finally given a room key, the room wasn’t even ready. There was no assistance offered with luggage, and the staff seemed completely uninterested in providing even basic customer service. 2. Room Condition The room I was assigned was nothing like what was advertised. It was poorly maintained, outdated, and downright disgusting. To start, the walls had bloodstains on them—something I shouldn’t have to encounter in any hotel, let alone one that claims to be 5-star. The furniture was worn and dirty, the carpet was stained, and the bathroom was in desperate need of repair. There was mold in the shower, and the sink was clogged. Additionally, the room had two single beds instead of the requested double bed—something that should have been corrected immediately but wasn’t. On top of all that, the room safe was not secured to the wall or anything—literally anyone could have picked it up and walked away with my personal belongings. 3. Food and Dining The dining experience was a complete disaster. The food in the restaurant was not labeled, making it impossible to know what you were actually eating.

Our experience at this hotel was unfortunately not what we expected for the price. We chose not to take the all-inclusive package, but even so, the cost was higher than other hotels in Bodrum that do offer all-inclusive. In fact, we paid more here than at a nearby all-inclusive resort just 10 minutes away. Communication at reception was difficult, as very few staff spoke good English (with one helpful exception). When we enquired about the à la carte restaurant, no one could provide clear answers, and only later we found out it was closed until Friday. The regular buffet was available, but at 2,000 lira per person, it felt overpriced. Breakfast was basic - cheese, fruit, breads and plenty of Nutella - nothing particularly special. The overall atmosphere was lacking, and most of the staff seemed rather unfriendly. While the hotel is located on the beach, it’s still a bit of a walk to actually get there. In our opinion, this property does not live up to a true 5-star standard and was not good value for money.

Отель не соответствует 5*, может на 4 с минусом. Очень много лестниц, переходов, подъёмов и спусков. Мало лифтов, сплошные лабиринты. Даже чемоданы с номера пришлось поднимать самим по лестнице. Еда однообразная, на завтрак давали одни яйца и много-много хлебобулочных изделий. Ужин почти одно и тоже. При нас видимо травили огромных тараканов, они вылезли и умирали у нас на балконе. В номере горничные убирались "спустя рукава". Один раз пришла горничная, которая убиралась до этого в другой части отеля. Вот эта женщина убралась очень хорошо за все время. Не рекомендую в него заселяться. Очень разочарованы за такие деньги.

The room was generally clean, though the furnishings and overall condition showed signs of age. Staff were consistently courteous, understanding, and helpful throughout our stay. However, several issues impacted our experience. We noticed items in our luggage had been moved—guests should keep belongings secured. Toward the end of our visit, cigarette smoke began seeping into our room. The front desk informed us that adjacent rooms were vacant but offered to relocate us. Strangely, we observed lights turning on and off and heard toilets flushing in one of those rooms, suggesting possible unauthorized use—perhaps by staff during breaks. The air conditioning was ineffective and failed to cool the room properly. Smoking is widespread across the property, including the beach, pool, bars, and restaurant. Guests with asthma or smoke sensitivity should be cautious, as there are no designated non-smoking areas and the hotel does not clearly advertise its smoking-friendly status. The main restaurant offers a decent variety of food, though it can become repetitive. Cleanliness was inconsistent—glassware and utensils often appeared dirty, and flies were present around the buffet. Many guests were visibly ill and lacked basic hygiene, which was concerning. Despite these drawbacks, the beach and pier are beautiful, and the food is enjoyable. Recommended only if you're comfortable with a smoking environment and can overlook some cleanliness concerns.

Staff was very inexperienced and lacking basic hospitality must haves. Rooms were outdated and misrepresented. Food was above average quality and well presented.

I travel a lot and I mean a lot! I am struggling to think of an occasion when I have stayed in a worse hotel. Alarm bells starting ringing when we were met by the ‘airport transfer’ which was offered and arranged by the hotel. It was a small saloon car and in a poor, dirty condition. On arrival at the hotel the driver demanded the €50 payment in cash. The hotel had made know mention of this and left me assuming it was the same system as hotels worldwide that offer an airport transfer - it goes into your bill. To rub salt into the wound, the usual transfer company I use (and which I booked for the return to the airport) uses large, modern, clean cars and the price was 25% less. On arrival at the hotel, we were told the room was ready but we need to wait for a shuttle to take us to the room as it was separate to the hotel. For some amazing reason, a hotel that has rooms requiring a shuttle for this reason only has one available buggy - so if it’s busy elsewhere you have to wait or hike up the hill in the heat. We were offered a free drink of our choice at the lobby whilst we waited, however when we got the bar to order orange juice we were told only water was free. We asked later at reception why they told us a drink of our choice but only water was offered - they could not answer. Not going well so far and it didnt get any better. They didn’t care and it was disgustingly dirty especially in the restaurant. Awful!!

Snack bar!!! Ordered their specialty, Salmakis pizza, missed 5 main ingridients and the garson at the snack bar was still arguing that it us supposed to be like that.. and had to wait for that "pizza" 1 hour and 20 minutes

Good own beach with beautiful view and swimming pool. Good food, good quality alcohol drinks. There is a water taxi just next to the hotel which brings you to the Bodrum city centre which was just great!

The room and lobby were not very clean, the restaurant either. Some dead (or not) insects in the bathroom. Some repairs are required in the room (torn curtains, broken toilet seat, old sanitary)

Die Zimmer sind alt und nicht modern, WC und Dusche verrostet. Das Wasser aus der Dusche roch unangenehm. Möbel alt, das ganze Areal ungepflegt. Das Restaurant war unhygienisch, das Essen geschmacklos. Frühstück und Essen waren zwar vielfältig, aber ohne Geschmack. Das Personal war zwar freundlich, jedoch unerfahren. Insgesamt kein edles Hotel, das dringend erneuert werden müsste.

We booked the two bedroom residence room all inclusive. The rooms were amazing with a massive balcony and great view from the terrace. It had all the amenities of a proper two bedroom villa with a laundry room, well equipped kitchen and very spacious. The fotos on booking.com doesn’t do the hotel any justice and needs to be upgraded.the interior is beautifully decorated and full of detail. The food selection for all meals was great with good quality cheeses olives, fresh fish, meat dishes and many traditional Turkish dishes daily. The staff were well trained and friendly. Service was always good.

The beach is very small and cramped, there are not enough deck chairs at the pool, the pool toilets are disgusting with tiles missing on the mosaic walls everywhere, it desperately needs an upgrade. The general cleaning and upkeep needs urgent attention. The staff are over worked due to not enough staff on duty. The elevator from pool had the same dirt in it for the entire week we were in the hotel. The cleaning in the residence is not up to standard at all, we had to call for towels and water on more than one occasion. The terrace was probably not cleaned in the week we were there. We left a plate outside our room and it was there for 4 days, the housekeeper didn’t clean or collect it.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The receptionists, Shilan and Kamuran, were absolutely amazing—so kind, professional, and always ready to help. They truly made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The portions were generous, and every meal felt like it was prepared with care. All the staff I encountered were warm, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The spa is huge and beautifully maintained, with an authentic hammam that adds a special touch of relaxation to the stay. It was the perfect way to unwind and recharge. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great service, friendly staff, excellent food, and top-notch wellness facilities.

However, the hotel itself is in need of renovation, starting from the entrance through to the rooms. Our first night was difficult as the AC wasn’t working properly, making it hard to sleep, and the lighting in the room could use improvement as it lacked proper lamps. While the service from individual staff members was excellent, the overall facilities need attention to match the hospitality provided. With some upgrades, this hotel has the potential to be truly outstanding.

Staff is so helpful and location is great. My only doubt is since the beach area is limited, it is not easy to find beach bed and beach area is crowded.

We were in the upper level residents on the road, apt 4. Amazing view and large 1 bdrm apt but bed was very hard in bedroom and it was loud at night with cars going by late with their stereos booming. Our pool had no chairs around it and there was no cork screw etc and if you needed something other than a shuttle you had no service too far away. Food was decent. We booked for 2 days and paid a lot and had breakfast incuded and really for what we paid all meals and drinks should be included as we were 3kms from all restaurants and stores so taxi was necessary as very big hill to and from our accommodation. Silan in the dining area was wonderful to us but beyond her the other staff did not seem very interested in us as english speaking Canadians. 3 star rating but the beach is amazing and swimming ideal!

The food was not bad. Ok location. Despite being an old hotel, some beauty remains.

The room (Jr Suite) was spacious but dated. The furniture was worn out, and some appliances were barely working. TV is a joke. Wi-Fi was half-working. Sauna/spa is unremarkable (the sauna is working, nothing else good to say). The staff is friendly, but forgets about requests half the time. The beach is not very clean and not the most comfortable. Guests are often smoking on the beach. Beverages are also below expectations: they can give you something from a packaged juice, but refuse to make a fresh-squeezed juice.

Great hotel with a fabulous spa area. Friendly helpful staff. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Everything is amazing about the property

Very difficult to say but one thing they can improve is have a a bit of vegan veg menu and also to add the name in front of the food. Just a suggestion.

This resort is one of the best that I have stayed ever. We were there for 5 days and had amazing time. Staff were very welcoming and accommodated to our little request without any hesitation.. Definitely looking to go back again..
