This is a great hotel. Very welcoming staff, especially Antoinette and Ryan. I stayed one night and the room was nicely decorated with a comfortable and firm king mattress. The plantation shutters on the large window and between the bathroom and bedroom gave the place extra charm. Harbor House is an upscale hotel that includes complimentary wine and cheese and breakfast, that unfortunately I couldn’t have as I had to depart very early the next morning. Excellent old town location within walking distance of everything.
My husband and I had a lovely 2-night stay at Harbour House Hotel. The hotel exceeded expectations with its cleanliness, accommodations, service, and modern yet cozy design. Our marina-view room was comfortable (with especially cozy beds and a great gas fireplace). It wasn't the largest room that we chose but it was quite roomy. Breakfast was far beyond continental—featuring fresh baked quiche and a delicious homey bread pudding, fruit, yogurt, charcuterie, and warm service. We also enjoyed the included wine tastings and convenient shuttle to Old Town (though it’s just a short walk). The foyer was beautiful and inviting, and overall the stay was excellent. We only wish we’d stayed longer—we’d definitely return!
INCREDIBLE FROM THE FIRST MOMENT WE STEPPED INTO THE HOTEL!!! It felt like we were visiting family. Everyone went above and beyond. The wine and cheese was such a nice surprise and the breakfast…AMAZING!! I will definitely be coming back. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Thank you to Nicho (aka Zorro), you will be remembered!
Harbour House is our favourite hotel in all of Canada……..and we have stayed at lots of lovely hotels. The decor , rooms, staff ,breakfast and ambience are second to none.
While we only stayed one night, we will be back again. Every staff person we meet was kind and pleasant. The room was comfortable and I loved the jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was enjoyable and not rushed.
From the second we walked in the door everything was perfect. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely room, great breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Staff is all so friendly and welcoming! We received a cookie at check-in, and there was a pot of hot coffee available. The room was bright and cheery and very clean. Unbeknownst to us, we had the “ romance package” so we were pleasantly surprised to see the welcome card in the room, telling us there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine cooling in the fridge. The dining room was available for us to use to play some cards with our friends. The afternoon complimentary wine and cheese was appreciated, as was the amazing hot breakfast, where the service was top notch. Harbour House is our favourite place to stay in NOTL - great value for the money, and we will most certainly stay there again.
Harbour House Hotel is our favourite place to stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake! It is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The view of the harbour is lovely even on a winters day. Their rooms are pristine clean and well appointed. The staff are authentically welcoming and helpful. Morning breakfast is superior and delicious. Jamie, our hostess made it even more special. Harbour House never disappoints.
So friendly and welcoming The room and public space clean and great atheistics Breaks was so good The wine in afternoon was a beautiful touch Location was perfect
A lovely spot - friendly staff and a clean spacious room. The Continental breakfast was delicious. While not "downtown" it was only a short walk to shops and restaurants and there was a shuttle service available as well. Highly recommended.
Our stay was amazing. Staff are really nice. Room was very clean. Cheese and wine was great. Breakfast was delicious.
4th stay and it continues to impress.
Our stay at Harbour House was truly exceptional. Our suite was lovely, the location was perfect..right at the Marina and so close to the shopping strip. The staff was exceptional...also evidence that the management team places customer service a priority. I have had the pleasure to stay at a lot of lovely hotels but Harbour House like cream, rose to the top of my list. Even Our Bichon, Gracie, was made to feel very welcome. There was a wine tasting in the beautiful, comfy lobby and folks staying at Harbour House gathered. Chatting and getting to know each other. The comfortable socializing over some glasses of wine. I would highly recommend Harbour House I am not good with names, but I really have to say that all of the staff was just fantastic. They were all very friendly, and warm, knowledgeable and delightful
This was our 4th visit to Harbour House. When visiting Niagara on the Lake it is our go to reservation when available We love the quiet, welcoming atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable with a cozy fireplace on the cold winter weekend. A 12 min walk to the Main Street is always enjoyable. Breakfast covers all dietary needs and Brenda is very happy to share her recipes.
We stayed just one night at Christmas Eve 2025 as a family of three adults in two rooms. The hotel is a cosy place with beautiful and comfortable rooms and interesting atmosphere. In addition to the hotel by itself, their wine tasting event every afternoon and delicious continental breakfast that are included in the price, are worth mentioning. I recommend it to someone that likes smaller places with unique character.
The rooms were very clean and attractive. The breakfast staff was very nice and the cleaning people were very nice also. The wine and cheese happy hour was good. Could’ve had better cheese selections, but at least it was something and a good chance to speak with other guests. The best part was it’s dog friendly. Our dog loved the room and the area. The only negatives which could be fixed easily. For a dog friendly hotel with many dogs there’s one old ugly garbage can in the underground garage for dog bags. They really should have easily accessible dog waste areas with dog bags as most every other dog friendly hotel does. The shower is a handheld one and the temperature and faucet were hard to control. Bathrooms and showers at hotels are very important part of a stay. Our bed mattress was worn and sloping, so appears to need a new mattress at some point. The thermostat was a dial instead of digital and difficult to get right temperature.
Staying at the Harbor House Hitel felt like coming home. Warm, cozy, romantic, clean, it has it all. Large comfy king bed and a fireplace that made it oh so special. Breakfast was great too. We will definitely visit again and highly recommended.
A wonderful place to stay, we have returned several times as a group as it provides superb hospitality. Great location, atmosphere for a wonderful stay
We had a very good experience at the Harbor House Hotel and the staff were amazing. They were friendly , curtious and very hospitable.
Fantastic small hotel with a great location. Staff is super friendly and responsive. Guest rooms are comfortable and quiet. You can walk just about anywhere in the town, and very convenient to the Shaw Festival. Breakfast buffet is always of high quality. We have stayed in the larger hotels in NOTL and much prefer the homestyle atmosphere of the Harbour House.
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. Our room was exceptional! The continental breakfast was delicious. Within easy walking distance of the downtown and the lake. We were able to also use the complimentary charger for our EV. We greatly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Habour House
Our getaway to NOTL and our stay at Harbour House was lovely. A great location just walking distance to Queen St. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There's a warm, welcoming cozy atmosphere. We loved the Nautical theme throughout the hotel. The staff members were all courteous, friendly and helpful. We met guests who return every year. That in itself says so much. It was truly a pleasure being there.
Celebrated my 60th birthday. High tea was delicious and the server was very personable. Room was lovely and breakfast was amazing
We would definitely stay at the Harbour House again. 100%. The room with a fireplace, excellent shower and jacuzzi tub, service, food, breakfast. All top notch!
This hotel makes you feel that you are at home.It is small enough that you feel comfortable and not one of many. The shuttle service is free and allows you an opportunity to not have to drive your own car for dinner.
I can not even count how many times our family has chosen the Harbour House for our visits to Niagara on the Lake... but I know how many of those times we enjoyed ourselves beyond belief.... ALL OF THEM!!!!. The facility is amazing top notch inside and out from the time you park and check in, the beautiful breakfast, the wine and cheese, the shuttle service, not to mention the beautiful spacious rooms. The staff compliments the facility in a way that truly makes you feel at home. Everyone addresses you by name and is there to help in any way they can. I can not wait to return and visit them next month.
Six of us stayed at the Harbour House last week and it was excellent---from the reception area, to the large, spotless rooms, delicious breakfasts, and the complimentary wine and cheese reception each night. It is an older property, but meticulously maintained. Highest recommendation! Can't wait to return.
We stayed two nights in a large comfortable room where everything worked perfectly. It was a bit of a walk through rather dark residential streets to get into the town centre in the evening and it would have been nice to have been told of the hotel almost opposite but hidden behind some trees where we could get a great meal when we arrived in the pouring rain. There is no restaurant at the hotel and you have to go out. Interesting to learn later of a shuttle service into town! Breakfast was rather limited, but nice that's it's included
Lots of extras! Breakfast, shuttle to some restaurants, a lovely wine tasting/happy hour! Very clean and friendly staff!
Great staff and service. Breakfast was excellent. Location ideal.
Great location. Friendly staff and clean property. We loved the fireplace directly in the room, it made us feel at home.
Rooms are large and very comfortable. I love the decor!
Wish we would have stayed here longer
Healthy breakfast, good service, friendly staff, nice and quiet atmosphere, very much enjoyed the wine-tasting social hour. We were unhappy about only one thing: our internet was cut off at 00:01 a.m. on the day of our departure though the checkout time is 11:00 a.m. we ended up with no internet when we woke up.
Complementary breakfast was excellent and the afternoon wine and cheese hour was a nice amenity. We loved our stay!
Clean, quaint, dog friendly. Great staff. Excellent breakfast. Easy walking to amenities
My family of 4 (two teen girls) couldn't have been happier with our NOTL accommodations. We got a suite which allowed everyone plenty of room. Breakfast was delicious (and included) and Queen Street was a short 8-10 minute walk away. I'd definitely stay here again. The accommodations were clean and fresh and the staff were beyond friendly.
Very clean hotel. And the French toast at breakfast each morning was amazing! Great location right near the water, we walked the path along the water each morning. It was absolutely beautiful. Within walking distance to all of Queen Street. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic stay. Close to shopping downtown, and free parking. Will return!
We just stayed here for our 4th time with our Bernese Mountain Dog Bailey. We love it here. It's a great location, comfortable, spacious rooms and the staff couldn't be more helpful and fun. We will continue to return to this charming hotel and town.
It is a beautiful property with nice size rooms and a gas fireplace in every room and whirlpool tub. Very friendly staff and beautifully decorated. Very comfy king bed too. Also close to downtown and easy ride to Niagara Falls. Niagara in the Lake is also beautiful with plenty of restaurants
A great location as it's walkable to everywhere without being on the really busy main street. They run a shuttle to all the restaurants, which is very easy to use - including when you need picking up. The Wine Happy Hour is a lovely way of getting to mingle with other guests!
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.
Very clean hotel, and treated me and my dog extremely well! Parking is right on site. Evening wine tasting at no cost. Breakfast was delicious!
The staff were friendly, but there was miscommunication regarding vegan options for breakfast. Check-in staff asked about dietary restrictions but it was not translated to breakfast staff and there was limited food options for my friend. From my perspective, the breakfast was very tasty, but it was disappointing in light of the earlier question.
Love the property and the area it’s in. However the property is dated. I haven’t been here in years and remember how nice it was at one time. All the staff is great and very nice and friendly.
We had such a great stay at this boutique hotel. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The room was spotless, cozy, and had nice little touches that made it feel special without being over the top. The location couldn’t be better. Everything in Niagara-on-the-Lake is right outside the door—restaurants, shops, the theater, and even some wineries are just a short walk away. It was so nice to be able to park the car and not need it again until we left. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the staff gave great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. You can tell they really care about making sure guests have a great experience. Overall, this place is charming, comfortable, and in a fantastic spot. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we visit.
Liked proximity to Queen Street and stores.
Beautiful gem !!!
Just one of the best places we have ever stayed. Location, ambience, wine tastings, staff and guests were amazing.
We stayed there on the way up to visit relatives in Canada and then again on the way back to the US. We had our two large pups with us and they enjoyed the stays as well.
Clean, spacious rooms with large bathrooms, good buffet breakfast with pleasant waitstaff. Front desk staff not very warm or welcoming. Convenient and quiet location for Shaw Festival.
Very comfortable bed, quiet room and wonderful breakfeast!
Very lovely stay! Free dinner shuttles to and from
Quiet comfortable small hotel.breakfast included in a bright room self serve.
Wonderful too to bottom, from the front desk, Emma, to the courtesy driver, Ali. Excellent stay!
Great property, great location 💜
Room was clean, and hotel maintained. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly. We appreciated the shuttle to and from our offsite dinner reservations. Ali, the driver was very nice, professional and offered suggestions for other activities.
Great stay at Harbour House. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was unexpectedly great.
The property was fine. Information about the shuttle was confusing, not always available. The biggest issue was a noisy dog left in the room barking while the owners went out to play golf. I would not recommend staying at this property for that reason. I wanted to take a nap but it was impossible with the dog barking for hours. Not only was this rude for many in the hotel including the lounge but it was terrible for the dog. While I spoke to the receptionist and she documented the problem I never heard from the management. Since it is pet friendly the staff could not enter the room to remove the dog. The owners were called and a message left on their phone. I sent the management an email also and they completely ignored it. An establishment is only as good as the management and I have to say I would not give them even 1 star. This is not an inexpensive establishment so spending your money elsewhere is recommended.
Recently returned from a trip to Harbor House and I would not recommend staying there. I returned to my room to take a nap only to hear a dog barking incessantly. The owners had gone to play golf and had left the dog in the room. Because the hotel is pet friendly the management could not enter the room to remove the pet. The receptionist took the information and sent it to the management. She heard the barking in the Lounge. Not only was this abusive to the guests but also to the dog. I also sent an email to the management and have heard nothing. Rate the management 1 star.
Fabulous experience. The staff and hotel were amazing. The location was great for site seeing. Definitely would come again. A great weekend getaway.
Close surrounding area needs refreshed. Close neighborhood (walking distance) beautiful. Second time I stayed here in 2 years and the 1st time room was just perfect. This time room was very large, but across from maids closet and very noisy. Went across the street to Queens Landing to eat was very nice. But that was only place to eat in walking distance. Refund of damage deposit was .55 cents short??
Wonderful hotel! Great location! Walking distance to so many things. Rooms are spacious and include fireplace plus deep whirlpool tub with separate shower. We have stayed here 4 other times and will no doubt be back.
Fell in love with Harbor House and can’t wait to return!
Very nice hotel located near the water in beautiful Niagra on the Lake. The rooms are very nicely appointed, very clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. They offer wine and cheese tastings along with breakfast in a very nice dining room. The public areas are cozy and quaint and very comfortable. The shuttle driver was very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel needs updating - I stayed there years ago and it was in much better shape. Bathrooms are old, sone furniture broken and just looks a bit run down now. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast staff very kind. Front desk staff are not very friendly and my check in issues really put a damper on our impression of the hotel service staff. We won’t stay there again.
We loved our stay! Excellent location, beautiful spacious room and nice breakfast. The only critique I would have is to replace the pillows. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible.
Lovely staff. Room looks like it is from 1990. Outrageously high room rates. We overlooked the parking lot.
Excellent venue and super friendly staff.
Lovely hotel. Excellent stay. However, I wish the AC was cooler.
Lovely staff and nice touches with welcome wine tasting and European continental breakfast
Lovely view of harbor. Staff tried very hard to meet every request.
Beautiful property
We booked a block of rooms for our wedding in June 2025.During our 5 night stay, the AC was never functional. First Incident - We booked the conservatory ( breakfast dining room) space for pre-wedding festivities. During the event, the AC did not work on account of power outage. Our guests had to spill out to the "cooler" part of the lobby out of the event space. When the issue was flagged to the hotel staff, they did not provide us with portable fans. Instead they told us to wait for the space to cool down ( it seems that the AC were back out on account of outage but back up again. Their response did not matter because the event space felt like all of us were in hell fire. Second Incident - Things hit rock bottom on our wedding day. We booked the honeymoon suite to get ready for our ceremony. With the bridal party in the honeymoon suite, the suite felt like a gas chamber. The staff provided us 1 portable fan while my husband sprinted to a drug store to buy multiple hand portable fans (instead of getting ready for his wedding). After being more explicit about our AC issues, we were given another room ( a pointless gesture as the bridal party was in the midst of getting ready and it wasn't feasible for our HMU artist to keep changing rooms and potentially be late to my own wedding). We were assured that the rooms would be at an ideal temperature on our return. We spend our first night as a married couple pleading with the hotel staff to help us with a room with functional AC. We were shown one room but the room was no different from our original honey moon suite. Needless to say, we chose to stay in our original room with 2 portable fans. We survived the night in the suite on account of multiple cold showers.. In response to our horrendous stay, the management felt that providing reimbursement for one night should suffice for the lack of bare minimum services. Our experience was shared by other wedding guests who chose to stay at the same hotel. Our guests do not have happy memories of staying at the hotel. Some of them were in their early 70s. They roughed it out as it was difficult to switch hotels at the last moment. We are disappointed by the false advertising of the services of what I would call is a 2 star hotel. Please avoid this property at all cost.
Very friendly and helpful staff!
This was an amazing stay! It was a short one, but we had a great time. Check in was smooth, staff are incredibly kind and very knowledgeable about the area. It’s mins away from everything, really great stay & I would highly recommend
Great hotel in NOTL at a great price
Great staff and fantastic breakfast.
Cute property, the photos are a bit misleading. The wine and cheese happy houe
We had a wonderful stay at Harbour House. The staff were friendly and helpful. They had dairy-free milk options, almond and oat milk, which was so nice for my morning coffee. The only thing is they didn’t have any real gluten free options, except eating fruit and some lunch meat ham.
A wonderful experience for our short 2nd honeymoon! Room was inviting and clean. Underground parking was a plus. A quiet location for still close to Olde Town center
We highly recommend Habour House for its ver good service, pleasant atmosphere, walkable situation. It was overall a delightful stay.
Disappointed for what we paid room were outdated the ac not good so the room was damp ,even the so call included breakfast was not very good
Stay was wonderful. Excellent location breakfast was plentiful Only one suggestion would be to paint the cracked ceiling in.the bathroom
My husband and I stayed at Harbour House for 3 nights. The hotel is charming. Our room was clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast which was included was delicious with various options to choose from. An added bonus was the wine and cheese everyday between 4:00 and 5:00. The hotel is conveniently located to all the NOTL attractions. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay.
Harbour House is a lovely property, close to the Lake and Niagara River. Great place!
Lovely boutique type hotel
Beautiful place. Breakfast was much more than we had expected. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The shuttle service was a welcome treat.
Loved this place for a trip with mom and the dog - excellent amenities for the doggy and so close to many trails and river /lake swimming options. Beautiful area!
We enjoyed the breakfast and the shuttle that was almost always available. We had problems with the toilet and A/C but they were quickly fixed.
I found the pillows on the bed to be uncomfortable. I wished that I brought mine from home. Good location. Nice breakfast with good service.
We had an excellent stay here for 4 nights. Property is clean and well kept. Staff is very kind and helpful. Queen’s park and main market is close by.
Great hotel
Beautiful boutique hotel. Great location. Walk to downtown shops and restaurants. Room was spacious, beautifully appointed, quiet…great shower! Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast buffet was terrific! Bread pudding was to die for…server, unprompted, brought me a copy of the recipe! Highly recommend this place!
A most friendly place to stay, the afternoon wine tasting is a great place to meet fellow travelers. Rooms are spacious and well maintained.
Wonderful stay here, but too short. Will have to return. Great breakfast and loved the room!
The Harbour House was a sweet place to stay for our anniversary getaway. We loved the intimate friendly atmosphere and the unique nautical decor reminiscent of our sailing days. The location was perfectly situated for walking to the shops and restaurants and other Niagara-on-the-lake gems such as The Shaw Theatre! We used our bicycles to go to various places including local gardens, museums including Fort George and also cycled along the beautiful Niagara Parkway. They also have rental bikes on site. The buffet breakfast was delicious!
We loved the location a short walk from town and the warmth of the staff and other guests. We will definitely return to this halcyon!
