Close to the train station, and shops. Breakfast was good, staff very efficient. We also had dinner at the onsite restaurant. The and service was good too. We will stay there next visit.
Very clean room with really comfortable bed. The staff were wonderful- genuinely friendly and welcoming as well as being extremely efficient. Parking is under the building but maybe best call for directions. Very central, close to the train station and all the sights. Excellent food and good breakfast
Excellent location, good parking, hotel very cosy and friendly
We had a parking lot. But there was construction and it was Hard to find. Hotel was clean, staff was super friendly. Hotel is looking a little run down. Over all a comfy bed. Typical breakfast. I wasnt in waterford long. Very quick trip
Good location.
We stayed at this hotel and the only thing I can say is that it was excellent! On arrival the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. When we got to our room, we were blown away! We had been given an upgrade at no extra cost, and to say the room was magnificent would be an understatement, it was superb. The following morning we came downstairs for breakfast, we were shown to a lovely table and had out choice of so many wonderful things to eat. The location of the hotel is great, it’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can get a great nights sleep, yet close enough to everything that you are only minutes away from anything you could want. Our stay was truly memorable and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel to anyone.
Lovely hotel only slight complaint would be the car park
I was shocked to see that there is no AC in the building. I figure it doesn't get that hot during summer. Overall, it was a great stay.
Very comfortable & clean room. Great location in city centre
Good clean friendly
Overall just excellent
We found the location quite central for the things we wanted to do and see in the city. The reception staff were very good and helpful for our planning of visits in the area. Room was very comfortable and spacious. All the staff we came across were very good and particularly so in the restaurant for breakfast. Food was plentiful and good too.
Externally painted pretty
This was a wonderful place with great staff and perfect location. Room was comfortable and clean and large.
Lovely hotel ànd staff but the rooms need a refurb
Well done breakfast and nice rooms
.
Great location, and nice rooms.
Staff were friendly, the room was clean as expected with an iron and hair dryer as standard. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
The hotel has recently been renovated and is quite nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had an outstanding breakfast included. Easy walking distance to the entire quay district.
I would suggest new photos and have them be untouched, show the high traffic road 5 feet from hotel. The town although I live the history part is really tattered. Service everywhere is just.....void of personality, the service workers are a bit like zombies. I live Ireland but this hotel and town don't represent.
Telly wouldnt work said they would change our room never done it
I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the temperature was just right. The bathroom, especially the shower, was excellent. The receptionist was extremely nice, friendly, and informative, which made check-in and my stay even better. The location is very central, making it easy to get around. Would definitely stay here again!
Amazing all out couldn’t fault the beds are so comfortable
Professional and understated.
Beautiful hotel tucked away in a quiet side street. Room 415 was great and a fairly new bathroom, With an amazing shower. Restaurant food very good and breakfast excellent
The area we were in looks a bit rundown but the interior of the hotel is very nice
Menu in the bar was very limited
My stay was good apart from the extracor Tan and the plug in the sink of the bathroom not working
Hotel was very clean and well maintained however, for me, the gifhlight of my wtay was the very frirbdly and welcoming staff. From moment I checked in to the time I checked out, everyone was really friendly and personable.
Very helpful staff. Breakfast could’ve had a better selection
Though the parking area is very tight and the common areas are drab, our room was clean, safe, and comfortable, with an excellent shower. Trust me, in gritty Waterford, the Fitzwilton is a virtual oasis.
Excellent as always
Room needs updating, carpets stained and heating is controlled by the hotel, Room very cold during the day and hot at night for sleeping Bathroom has been refurbished and was excellent. Breakfast was very along with the main dining area
Went to Waterford for Crystal factory. Cute town. Closed up on Mondays fyi.probably amazing in summer.
Very nice buffet breakfast included. Good location within walking distance of train station and nice restaurants and museums. The staff was very helpful; we appreciated the reception desk calling a restaurant for us for dinner reservations.
Hotel is nice but the green light in the bedroom is very overpowering as a light sleeper.
Great hotel with good location in waterford, with walking distance to the central part of the city. Parking was not available on night we arrived forcing us to park in a public lot for the first night, so arrive close to check-in time to avoid this from happening.
Everything was very comfortable and convenient. Staff was courteous and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much
Only 5 min stroll from the train station. Easy to find nicely located. Staff were nice and helpful.
Was late for breakfast but no problem. Free parking. Decent size room. Clean. Expensive
This property was very near the Waterford Distillery. It's about a 1-mile walk to the museums and other Waterford sites. The room was large enough and the bathroom was the best we experienced while in Ireland. The parking was also easy to access.
Great staff
Can really complain the hotel is located in the heart of the city room was the usual topical hotel room very clean and spacious I was amazed with the bathroom ultra modern staff were very friendly and helpful food was good and not to pricey breakfast was great value for money €11.00 whilst booking the room ( full buffet) the only drawback was the car park very small and I was lucky to get a space. I would love to be able to say great value for money but in Ireland the hotel market is way over priced. Having said all that I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
It was ok, the room was clean, several staff both front desk, bar and restaurant were unable to answer simple questions. One staff members voice was so strident I was afraid to speak with her.
Grubby Complex. No drinking water in room. No fridge in room I gave reception a small freezer bag for my medicine but it was not put in the freezer! I booked for €20 cheaper on internet than the best rate from the hotel. Madness when you consider the commission rates hotels have to pay to Booking sites.
Hotel has a restaurant on site which is very good. I had an issue with the shower both days I stayed. The first day the water was cold. I reported the issue and staff looked into straight away but not before I had a. Cold shower. The second day the water was way too hot and it wasn’t able to be turned down. The hotel is easy to get to all the sites within town
I thought the elevator was slow. Other than that everything was fine.
from the pictures it looks like a great 4 star hotel however the room I got was veryyyy smal and the sheet was dirty, the hairdryer is in a closet so impossible to dry it in the bathroom. they reception couldn't help with an adaptor. I was not impressed. Have to say the staff at the breakfast was so nice, I was missing some coldmeat for the breakfast and they helped straight away.
Great stay.
Good location, clean and comfortable. Undercover parking was good
Everything
Very nice hotel in walking distance to the sites of the city. Restaurant and bar had great food and the breakfast was also nice. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms nicely updated.
Stayed for a night. Great location, walking distance to places of interest
Restaurant was closed so stayed in the Bar for bar food. Bar was cold and it was a very limited menu.
Everything was on point from Hanna at the front desk to the Harisa cauliflower and especially the service in the restaurant.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was excellent and the location was within walking distance of all the attractions.
The room is the best bedroom I have stayed in in all of Waterford, and I’ve stayed in most of them.
Great stay. Nice room, v good service and food.
Really friendly staff, nice food and good room.
This hotel was decent but not amazing. Everything was very clean and staff were friendly. Housekeeping threw away the bar soap on our first day and also didnt replace it, so we washed our hands with shower gel after that. They also didn't replenish any of the tea supplies, we had to go looking ourselves. Our sleep was also interrupted frequently due to hallway noise - the numerous doors down the hallway are very loud, and people seemed to be moving about at all hours. Breakfast was just okay, both the eggs and the fruit salad were really watery, and the meats were super greasy, so it wasn't amazing. Overall, I wouldn't avoid the place, but I wouldn't make an effort to stay again either.
Nice location friendly staff
Lovely hotel to stay in especially if you intend using the Waterford Greenway outside the door.
.
We had a fabulous stay at the Fitzwilton hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble from the reception to the bar staff and restaurant staff to the cleaning staff. The rooms are spotless and the food is Michelin star quality. Great location. Will definitely be going back. Thanks Hannah for the lovely welcome and to Trish for the lovely farewell.
.
Vert nice, clean, friendly. Breakfast was amazing, everything you could possibly have, was there.
Clean, comfortable and the shower was wonderful. It was right downtown close to all things. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent location, friendly staff, food great, parking challenging but we managed to get a spot for the three nights. Bathroom needs refurb
Family trip for 3. Hotel was all fine. Friendly staff, and managed to get a parking slot at the hotel.
No air conditioning.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
This hotel offers a great location to transport (trains) and is easily walkable to most main attractions The food & service were both excellent
The hotel is well located both from the perspective of finding it when you arrive in Waterford as well as walkability. They advertise free parking and that is true, but it is limited and VERY tight. Upon arrival I had a hard time finding a spot and had to make one. I was a bit early for check in so my room wasn't available, but they prioritized it which was appreciated. My room was very tight and I couldn't open the closet door fully as the bed was in the way. But not a big deal. There were other hotels in the area that I would have preferred for ambiance and old world charm, but I just went to those for an after dinner, before bed drink. The Fitzwilton was overall a good value.
I stayed for one night at this hotel and there were many positives! I found the hotel located within an easy walk of the train station and the bus station too. There are some very nice places to eat within the area and at the same time the hotel has a good restaurant on the premises too. There is a beautiful Church opposite the hotel. I found the lady on the reception on my day of departure to be very professional and friendly. By contrast her male colleague who check me in to the hotel was rather abrupt. The downside is that the area around the hotel has become rundown in recent years and has a bad reputation due to the influx of “asylum” seekers. The other downside is that there is a dangerous crossing or rather a busy road lacking a suitable crossing point. The hotel is very clean and modern inside and comfortable. It has many strong points!
Ugly outside, and unattractive narrow entrance to the car park, but, once parked and inside, we couldn't fault it
I recently stayed for a 2 night business trip and the stay was wonderful. The Fitzwilton is conviently located within easy walking distance to all of Waterford city and public transportation. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable and modern. The breakfast buffet was fine and there is an excellent coffee shop up the road if you prefer to eat offsite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In particular Iva or Eva? at the reception desk went above and beyond to help me. Your reservations manager also provided exceptional customer service. My employer cancelled day 2 of our meetings unexpectedly and the manager allowed me a credit for my very last minute cancellation request. I enjoyed it so much that I already booked a night for a stay to use that credit for a family stay! Well done Fitzwilton!
Business trip. Comfortable room and superb dining in the bar/restaurant
We enjoyed our stay. The lady on reception was just the nicest most efficient person. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was good.
Stayed for one night. Convenient location. Friendly, helpful and quick check in.
The hotel has been refurbished and is very nice. My room was spacious and I loved the large shower. All staff were polite and welcoming. I only ate in the bar a couple of evenings but the food was nice and hot. It is well placed for all major routes.I would definitely stay again
Weekend relax
Location
Nice clean comfortable hotel very pleasant Staff very help I would definitely return
The staff here are extremely professional, friendly , and engaging, it sets the tone for a stay that effectively would be , perfect. The room as always, welcoming and perfectly clean. I left, the following morning, a great breakfast, and a friendly chat at check out. Perfection. !
Very nice hotel to stay in, clean and comfortable room, lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. The bar was very nice and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again. Very highly recommended.
Excellent. Couldnt fault it. Really impressed
Good hotel. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel is convenient for shops etc. and travelling onwards. Breakfast and bar food good.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel was very nice and the was very staff friendly. The room was spacious, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful with a big shower. The breakfast was very nice, but with limited items. Whatever is available was very tasty. The parking is free which is great but you have to walk outside to get to it. There is no direct entrance from inside the hotel.
Excellent hotel, lovely pillows !! Great breakfast & a late checkout
I have stayed at the hotel a couple of times. But my experience at breakfast will stay with me for a while. Pure greed. People taking 8 slices of bread. Filling tuba-were containers with everything they could get. Not a nice experience. 😡
Nice hotel and Food in the restaurant was very good. Only problem was breakfast it was very disappointing for vegetarians and pescatarian. Not knowing was eggs mushrooms or tomatoes cooked in meat oil.Black pudding was in with mushrooms. No vegetarian sausages or no fish. It’s supposed to be a four-star hotel that cost over €150 a night it’s just not good enough.
Really nice hotel, comfortable rooms and good food. This is my third stay here and I will be back.
Lovely hotel lovely food but car park was full when we got there so we had to park off site
The location was excellent and so much of Waterford is walkable from this hotel. The room was beautifully done and very clean. There was a private lot we were able to park in free of charge. The dinner we ate in the hotel bar was delicious. Our experience was top notch. Would highly recommend and expect to return another time ourselves.
The bed clothes are so hot.
It was exactly what we wanted. A great location in the heart of Waterford. Very clean. Super friendly staff. In fact we chose to have dinner and breakfast there both days we stayed. I would definitely stay there again.
Room very comfortable and good selection for breakfast. Staff friendly. Good location
Nice hotel, city center, convenient parking, walkable to all attractions
Good location
