The Granville Hotel

Very nice room, spacious for European standards. Comfortable bed, clean room. Conveniently located near Viking Triangle.

Great stay!

All good!

Lovely staff

Large clean room

Fiona at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodative. She made our trip the best by suggesting restaurants, tours and just being overall friendly. We would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Waterford.

Pros Nice hotel in an ideal location Close to bus station Ample shopping, dining, pubs nearby Close to Viking triangle Very good fine dining restaurant and pub on site Staff pleasant and helpful Cons Small room esp by North American standards Wifi not working in room

Comfortable room, with kettle for tea & instant coffee - would be nice to have an espresso machine in all the rooms not just some. Nice little welcome card & cookies upon arrival! You can request an iron for your clothes. We had a quayside view which is great but currently a building site as they build the new bridge. Fortunately we were there over a weekend so the noise was minimal. Decent breakfast, some buffet style and some dishes made to order like the eggs & avocado blaa. Although they did try to charge us for a breakfast on a day we didn’t have it.

Really a nice place to stay.! However if you have luggage such as we had (traveling for 10 days) , there is no parking right at the hotel. You have to park 2 blocks down the street. So bringing luggage into the hotel is cumbersome. Staff, restaurant was excellent.

Enjoyed our stay here. It is a historic hotel in wonderful condition. The staff was great

Older, stately property. Food was great. Faith, who served us in the restaurant was excellent.

Nice old hotel and friendly staff but the tour bus crowds fill up the restaurant and bar and make the place extremely noisy with their 24hr turn overs. Ear plugs required to sleep.

Although the hotel is old the bathroom was modern and really clean - and had a bath! The location was perfect and the staff friendly and helpful

Very cool historic hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Great location for getting to things in Waterford. Would stay again.

The noise in room at night is horrible. No sleep. Other tgan that ok

While on our road trip through Ireland, we were lucky enough to stay at one of Ireland’s oldest and most iconic hotels, the Granville Hotel in Waterford. What an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were swept up by the charm, history, and grandeur of this beautiful property. Everything about our stay was seamless, but what truly stood out was the exceptional staff. Their warm welcome and genuine attentiveness made us feel incredibly valued. We had dinner at the Bianconi Restaurant, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. The wait staff were personable, engaging, and wonderfully interactive – they turned a great meal into a truly memorable dining experience. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cosy, providing the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Parking was easy and convenient, which made our stay even more stress-free. If you’re visiting Waterford, the Granville Hotel offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort – we couldn’t recommend it more highly!

The hotel is convenient to all Key Waterford activities. Probably less than 10 Block walk to any of them.

Great place to stay!

Gorgeous hotel, staff went above and beyond, very comfortable spacious rooms, would definitely stay again!

5/5- loved my stay here. So clean, well maintained, lovely staff!

Out was a lovely hotel conveniently located to everything.

Beautifully maintained hotel with great character. Pub was great

Nice older hotel in the heart of town with modern amenities.

Our two night stay at the Granville Hotel was excellent. Unfortunately we arrived on the day that roadwork was being undertaken (not something the hotel were responsible for) out the front of the hotel (which we weren’t made aware of prior to arrival at the hotel to check in). As a result, on the second night we requested a room change to a quieter location in the hotel. The staff were really helpful finding us another room which was great. Breakfast was very good with a large selection and great service from the staff. A great hotel, pub and right in the centre of town. The only suggestion we’d have is to request a room with an air conditioner if the weather is warm.

I had a wonderful stay at this wonderfully refurbished historic hotel.

An old world ie building, food is great staff are so nice I will return

The location was great. The restaurant staff were just okay, but in fairness it was quite busy.

In a great area

Classy place

You need a better way to collect lost items in the hotel

Everything about this hotel is lovely. Our room was well kept, spacious and attractive. The price was reasonable, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the meals are delicious and reasonably priced. Can't say enough about this hotel.

Well located and restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast. Only complaint would be street noise. Even though window was tightly closed it sounded like it was open.

Excellent stay!

The property was very outdated and the staff was not friendly. Also, there was no valet and you had to park at another location offsite.Very difficult to unload the suitcases directly in front of the hotel.

Loved everything about this hotel! Polite professional staff, old time charm yet updated and classy. Room was great. Clean and comfy with great view of the river. Excellent restaurant, food and wait staff as well. 100% reccommend.

Old world property in a great location

The Granville Hotel has very nice staff. However, it is seen better days. The guests as well as the decor reminded me of days gone by.

Beautiful vintage hotel. Staff was great!

Lovely old hotel! Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Wonderful breakfast buffet

It is an old property that needs an update.

The entire hotel only has one elevator! All the interiors need to updates. They keep it clean, good job on that.

Central hotel, near to all city facilities and attractions. Classic style hotel, in very good condition. Clean and comfortable throughout. Spacious room and very good freshly cooked breakfast a nice touch. Well recommended.

I've stayed here lots of times on return trips home to Waterford and I've never been disappointed. The staff are always so friendly. The rooms are clean and comforatable and the service is always excellent.

Loved staying at this historic, quirky (by American standards) hotel. The staff was warm, welcoming and helpful.

Another Great stay as we have previously stayed many times at the Grandville and will of course be back

Everything went smoothly, we were there for two nights, Had our meal in the hotel bar which was very tasty, Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and everything very clean. Breakfast was top class and they had more than I have ever seen at the buffet breakfast table than in any other Hotel I have been too. Highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Very charming with a fantastic restaurant that is very fairly priced. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel but noisy. Restaurant was excellent

A lovely hotel.

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff that go the extra mile. Very enjoyable stay. I will be returning

Great breakfast!

We had a wonderful stay at the Granville! The staff was professional, friendly and on top of everything.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful City

Very conveniently located but not a great sleep

Central location was great. I had an awful experience with the front door security at night. They were rude to me because they did not believe my guest was not staying at the hotel. They need better training.

A lovely hotel, great food, fantastic bar, staff are very friendly, hotel is immaculate and restored beautifully! We had such a fab stay, definitely would recommend

The hotel was great. They have kept the history alive.

Excellent location, beautiful comfortable rooms. Food options, including a pub with live music!

Absolutely stunning hotel and incredible location. everything was top notch and first class. highly recomend!

Beautiful kept hotel in heart of Waterford. It has an old world feeling and tastefully decorated. Staff are friendly and efficient and are willing to go the extra mile for residents. Will certainly be back..

Was not allowed to pick the key to the room at 1-40. Yet the people in front of me were allowed to check in.

Honestly would not stay or recommend Granville, we asked for an hour later checkout and were told we had to pay 25 euro for the hour. With the number of rooms booked by our party this was just a money grab! We won’t money on stay at the restaurant etc and yet were charged another 25 - pretty pathetic! Rooms didn’t have irons and ironing tables face towels or hand towels. Just not very customer oriented. There are other better options

Great hotel - always stay when in Warerford for work. The only thing i would say about most recent visit - a new mattress would be beneficial as you can feel the springs coming through.

Very enjoyable stay, only complaint coffee machine was not working

Great location and excellent staff.

Great staff, bar, food, but there is MAJOR CONSTRUCTION across the street as they are building a bridge over the river. Heavy equipment busting up concrete starting at 7am every day. Very very very noisy - sleeping in is not an option.

The room we stayed in was very loud all night long from a party going on nearby.

Everything was fantastic! An extraordinary location and delightful experience.

The front desk staff was charming and accommodating. The bar/restaurant with great food and drinks.

Short stay. Slightly dated but that’s half the charm . Breakfast very nice . Conveniently located.

Easy walking access to the waterfront. Reasonable pay parking within a block up the street with hotel discount at the desk. Great breakfast.

We loved the Staff!

Very nice location and a huge parking only a block away Really nice hotel and great service and very good food at their bar restaurant 👍

The hotel was very interesting. It was quite crowded w/multiple big tours when we visited. Parking was not as close as we thought it would be. We couldn’t get into the restaurant but were recommended a fun pub where we had a good meal and heard some wonderful live music.

An old style hotel that has remained relevant in this day and age. PROS Well appointed rooms Vast double bed Comfortable sleep Good bathroom and shower Hot water Excellent restaurant fare and staff Helpful reception team Old school decor throughout Relatively quiet Spacious car parking Good value for money Easy walking distance of city amenities CONS Low level machine murmuring outside Traffic bound city centre location

Hotel has full restaurant and bar. Good location, easy walking around Waterford. Hotel has deal with surface parking lot across the street (was under some construction when I was there, but still functioning) Hotel room was a bit tired, but did have mini-split for in-room temp control. Toilet didn't flush completely each time, tall tub to step into for shower.

On the surface this hotel is very nice appearing but there were little details that made it less then stellar.

Excellent. Large room. Large beds. Great position

The staff at the Granville were excellent however the hotel itself is somewhat outdated and desperately needs upgrading. The towels in the room were thin and tiny and the shower was very old. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel and the quay where they are doing major bridge works so it’s extremely noisy. No double glazing either. The staff and the food were very good though.

Room they gave us had no ac

Great place to stay in Waterford!

Very nice hotel.

Delightful hotel!

Amazing stay!

This is a great hotel right in the heart of Waterford. Staff were really helpful with recommendations. Good good availability in the hotel and locally. We had a lovely stay.

The Granville was an excellent choice! Lovely accommodations, great food, and helpful staff!

Exceptional place and unbelievable staff and service

Personnel très dévoué et l’hôtel lui-même est vieux , très bien entretenu et très beau. La nourriture est excellente aussi!! Un accord parfait !! J’y reviendrais !!

Enjoyed the friendly staff and the great location

Great location in the middle of town. Parking available and convenient. Good breakfast.

This is a very nice old world feel hotel in the heart of Waterford. Easy walking distance to many interesting places.

Amazing room, friendly staff, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend. Downside was all the work going on opposite, but im sure itll be lovely when its done.

Great location. Wonderful spacey room. Great food. Great service. great everything. I highly recomm it. It’s centrally located with parking. Would definitely return!

This is a very nice hotel. It was easy to get there, park, and walk to the sights we wanted to see. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good experience with our order cooked fresh and brought to our table.

The Hotel was like stepping back to a grander time and enjoying a taste of it. It may have been not as easy to get around with easy elevators and had lots of stairs but the beautiful stairways only added to the charm. Good location and cheap parking was a great perk as well

We had a fantastic stay. We loved everything about Granville. Room was clean and spacious. Restaurants on location had wonderful food and great staff. I highly recommend and will stay here again.

Very nice older hotel restored with a fascinating history.

Easy parking in lot along river with less than 5 minute walk to lobby. Well situated to key attractions in any direction.

Live music, great food & rooms were comfortable & had everything you could ask for!

Excellent location with easy parking across the street. Staff was lovely. Our room was down a long corrider with stairs going up and down and fire doors in between, made for a challenge with luggage. The charm of the pub and decent fish n chips more than made up for it.
