El hotel es hermoso. Tuvimos la suerte de que nos hicieran upgrade a habitaciones con vista al lago y es realmente un sueño el paisaje. El personal muy atento. La limpieza 10 puntos también. El hotel está apenas alejado del centro, pero hay transfers sin cargo desde y hacia.

El gimnasio es super chico. El desayuno está bien pero por las fotos parecía otra cosa. De todas maneras está muy bien

En general, todo en el hotel estuvo excelente. La propiedad es hermosa, la vista es increíble, las habitaciones son sumamente cómodas y el servicio del personal fue muy atento durante toda la estadía. La experiencia en cuanto a alojamiento fue impecable.

La gastronomía no estuvo al mismo nivel que el resto del hotel. El desayuno nos pareció bastante mejorable y la comida del restaurante no fue la mejor. Valdría la pena ajustar esos detalles culinarios para que la experiencia sea de 10.

En general el hotel es muy lindo y acogedor pero la buena energía y atención del personal lo convierten en un lugar perfecto para ir.

O restaurante do hotel poderia ter mais opções de pratos para o jantar. Além disso, o café da manhã é simples para a categoria do hotel, seria interessante ter opções a La carte, como ovos feitos na hora, panquecas ou tostados. Também poderia ter opção de garagem para os carros coberta.

Notre chambre était petite et austère. Une chaleur étouffante dans la chambre ( en plein hiver) et glaciale dans la SDB ! On mange en doudoune dans le resto tellement il fait froid ! 🥶

The location is great wrt natural beauty of the lake. The room was clean- however lacked some amenities like hanging hooks in bathroom.

The service- the breakfast was very basic, not much hot food available in the cold winter. The location was away from main town and the shuttle service was just twice a day. The spa- was not as advertised was very basic- the fittings in the bathroom were falling apart, the sauna was not hot and the steam room was left open

La calefacción no es tan adecuada para el frío del lugar.

El personal muy atento. El lugar es un oasis con clima calido que te hace olvidar el clima frio del exterior, esto te invita a colocarte ropa comoda y disfrutar mejor del lugar. La piscina de agua climatizada, su sauna humedo y sus areas de descanso se vuelve un acontecimiento de relajación excepcional luego de las actividades en el exterior que se realizan en Calafate. Los atardeceres son impresionantes. El desayuno muy completo, aunque considero que si podrian mejorar un poco.

Los precios del restaurante muy altos y no tenían opciones sin tacc en el menú. Tampoco quisieron calentar comida llevada de otro lugar sin tacc.

O hotel é excelente, novo, moderno, com vista espetacular para o Lago Argentino. O apartamento é espaçoso e confortável. O pessoal é muito amável e prestativo. O café da manhã é farto e com produtos sempre frescos. O restaurante possui opções muito saborosas e com preços dentro do normal.

La vista de la habitación era espectacular.

El desayuno pésimo. No había nada, solo tostadas y medialunas, ni siquiera manzanas. Las camas individuales muy angostas, eran cómodas pero demasiado oequeñas. Considerando lo que pagamos, no hay relación precio calidad. No volvería.

El hotel es muy hermoso, las vistas formidables. La pileta climatizada era excelente, el agua perfecta y bien caliente

It’s almost really good but just lets it down with a few design , comfort and ease of use. The breakfast could be so much better. The Pack up Lunches are awful don’t bother It’s almost impossible to get the rooms to the right temperature . It’s a long way from central town with limited shuttles It’s a little noisy and echoes are my main gripes. I really wanted to like it. It was good but not great and it really could be

Lake views are exceptional and the facilities excellent

Nice hotel with good rooms and facilities. Beautiful views from the rooms on the lake side. We had some nice dinners in the restaurant and the breakfast is good.

The hot water in the shower was a bit tricky to adjust the temperature

We loved the landscape could be seen even from the room. Lago Argentino is beautiful, we loved the clouds, the sunset. The room was big and cosy, incl. the super comfortable bed. The restaurant of the hotel represents high quality, BUT YOU MUST reserve table in advance if you want to eat here. Nevertheless as El Calafete centre is only 10 minutes (max.) by taxi, no tragedy if you miss the reservation.

El desayuno me pareció que le faltaba más elección es , la fruta fresca era escasa, lo mismo que la parte de yoghurt…y que semejante edificio no tenga un jardín!!!

A vista para o lago é surreal de linda, o hotel é muito bonito por dentro. Atendentes educados. Chuveiro com água quente. Ar condicionado no quarto funcionando e muito bom.

A temperatura da piscina é fria. Poderia ter chinelos disponibilizados no quarto. O Café da manhã é bom, mas sem variação entre os dias.

Beautiful views, pool facilities were excellent, staff were attentive. Breakfast has good variety of foods. Room was spacious. Trail run along the coast on the hotel doorstep. Shuttle service into the town provided by the hotel which was handy.

Location is out of town, but manageable with the shuttle bus or rental car. Food in restaurant was on the expensive side - but what we got was nice.

Un hotel de alta calidad con sus espacios muy cómodos, la pileta y el spa hermosos y las habitaciones amplias.

La cama de dos plazas eran dos de una unidas y eso era incómodo, pensé que todas las habitaciones tenían vista al lago y nos tocó una con vista al campo que no había nada.

Excellent location! When the weather is clear, the visibility is beautiful! Very close to downtown, a short cab ride or shuttle ride. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style and has all the usual selections. Certainly lots to choose from. It is on the hotel pickups for tours & trips.

The view of the lake is exceptional, if you can try to get a room facing the lake. Our room was enormous, with a very generous en-suite bathroom. Friendly staff. The restaurant was pretty good. We had drinks on the terrace which was great too.

The sound insulation between our room and the room above was extremely problematic. After speaking with the hotel - they managed to speak to the guests above to be less noisy which did help. Perhaps other rooms are better insulated.

El hotel tiene unas vista hermosa , podes hacer el paseo de la costa desde ahí, el tamaño de la habitación es genial si buscas quedarte a descansar

El piso q me tocó tiene en el pasillo un desnivel de unos 5 escalones, incómodo para llevar la valija , chequear si tenes algún mínimo problema de movilidad o pedir q te ayuden con el equipaje .

desayuno un poco pobre para el valor pagado, comienza 6:30 pero realmente terminan de montarlo a las 6:45, y la mayoría de las excursiones recogen a los pasajeros a las 7:00 ( es el primer hotel en las recogidas dada la distancia), no hay tiempo para desayunar.

La vista es muy hermosa desde el hall principal, y sus terrazas.

Se nota en espacios comunes un deterioro y falta de cuidado a través de los años. Cumple con la limpieza, pero hace falta mantenimiento. El personal no es demasiado atento. No creo que valga lo que cuesta

Design Suites is a pretty hotel, with a stunning view from the restaurant area. My room was comfortable, and the interior/exterior of the hotel is quite striking. Yes, it's out of the middle of town, but it's an easy 20-30 minute walk into town, or you could take a taxi.

We had a junior suite with lake view (309). Large and very comfortable. The views over the lake are simply gorgeous. The bathroom was large also and with a jacuzzi. The only problem with the room is that it gets very hot because of the large windows – and you do not want to draw the curtains because you absolutely want to see the view. There is one window that you can open but it is very difficult to keep it open as it keeps closing because of the strong wind. We found a solution by sticking a shampoo bottle in the window so it wouldn’t close. But it needs some kind of a proper latch to keep it open. The staff was very professional but perhaps not quite as warm or welcoming as in other hotels where we stayed in Chile and Argentina. The hotel is nice and the views superb but the location is a bit far from the town centre, about 3.5 km, so it's not really practical to walk. You can get a taxi easily enough – the hotel ordered one for us and we hailed one more than once to get back from the town centre without any problems. Just something to be aware of. The food in the restaurant was OK but nothing special. I have rated 4 **** overall but would give 5 for the room.

O hotel é belíssimo! De frente para o Lago Argentino, é uma delícia acordar e tomar café da manhã com essa vista. Funcionários muito educados, café da manhã muito bom, quarto e banheiro espaçosos. No verão tivemos que fechar bem o black out da janela, pois é muita luz tipo das 5h da manhã até 22h, hahaha. Dá para reservar almoço, café da tarde e jantar - o valor é um pouquinho alto (como quase tudo em El Calafate), mas tudo que comemos estava muito gostoso. Tem um serviço de van que leva para o centro da cidade de manhã (vai 10h busca 14h) e à noite (vai 18h busca 22h) que foi útil, pois não tem Uber na cidade, só taxi. Contratamos uma massagem que foi excelente.

A piscina estava climatizada, pro nosso gosto poderia estar um pouquinho mais quente. Tem uma piscina gelada e a quente, mas as águas se misturam.

Hopefully this will be read as a balanced view of this hotel. The hotel is built like a glass house so in hot weather it’s boiling in the common area and the restaurant and breakfast area has no air con. The weather has been particularly warm here (23 degrees) which is about 10 degrees warmer than usual. We have a very nice room with a lovely outlook over the lake but you can’t keep the window covers open because it makes the room unbearably hot. The food seems ok but it’s so hot at the moment in the restaurant that I wouldn’t want to eat there. There have been problems with our room. Firstly with the air con off the room is stifling and it’s turned off every day. the electric card reader on our bedroom door goes wrong every night, the toilet seat is loose and should have been picked up by housekeeping or cleaners if they’re doing their job properly, the room tea and coffee has not been replenished, the bottled water doesn’t have a nice taste and the bathroom is not in the air con system, there are no dressing gowns or slippers. The hotel is run by a number of (very nice) youngsters who don’t seem to have much experience. The hotel is out of town, but they do have a free shuttle bus at 6pm and 10pm only and an indoor pool but it was stifling down there too! Can you do better….? There are some other nice hotels which are better located but some of them lack air con in their bedrooms. Overall a reasonable choice but could be so much better run!

They offered me an "upgrade" to move to a room with balcony the second night which was on the top floor. It was a lot of work to move luggage and then the balcony was ridiculously small and the door was stuck so I could not even open it. In addition, this room on the top floor was substantially smaller than my previous room a floor below because the building does not have straight walls but the top floor is substantially sit back compared to the bottom floor. So in total, ask for a room at a lower floor and forget the balcony

La struttura e la posizione spettacolare

Non faccio mai polemiche ma la palestra è diversa da come e’ presentata: piccolissima con 4 di numero attrezzi vecchi. Peccato. Tutto il resto ottimo.

If you’re looking for your mind to be rejuvenated everyday, Hotel Design is perfectly situated for that. Food and amenities maintain a truly blissful experience. With the backdrop of Lake Argentina and the Patagonia Mountain range, waking up to that everyday was unforgettable! El Calafate is a very peaceful town, and those views are the only kind of noise you really get. Easy communication for those who are English Speaking.
