We have stayed here before. Like the bar/restauarant and team. Everyone very helpful and food quality is good.
No air conditioning! We got a fan, it was baking hot that week. Booking.com had advertised it as having air con....
Staff and food
The fact your are now charged for use of the pool and gym etc £50 a couple peak times when you already pay premium for the pleasure of staying at a hotel that offers these facilities as selling points. The spa experience was well below par, I have used it before and this time I was disappointed to say the least! Was not offered a drink, was left sat in the waiting area for at least 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from staff passing by just ignoring me, minimal discussion before the treatment, room freezing , music so low you could not hear it and not at all soothing, therapist did not speak at all through the treatment so I was unaware of each process, products felt heavy on my skin and not nourishing like I asked for.
Majority of staff were fabulous. Spaghetti facilities good if crowded. Bar service excellent and breakfast excellent too.
Towel railing bathroom didn't work, loud buzzing noise from electrical consumer unit, bed too soft and dipped in middle.
We have stayed several times here and enjoy the location . Good car park and easy to travel to other areas . Spacious rooms , spa facilities if you desire and nice staff.
Our estuary view room was warm despite reasonable weather and only a fan to use , the window had a short safety lock so not able to open fully. A hotel of this quality needs air conditioning.
Receptionist with short hair was very snooty at check in, I did apologise we were 5-10 mins early for check in but could wait until 3. They started to get paperwork ready for us but her manner was rude and condescending throughout the exchange. We had booked 3 rooms for 7 people so have quite a large party, which included a birthday and an anniversary.
Everything, the views are amazing, the food was exceptional and the staff were so attentive.
Nothing
Amazing location - views of estuary. Rooms were all great - good staff and a very well run hotel. Will definitely be back with my partner next time!
Would be even better if there was a shuttle service or link to a taxi service as had to wait an hour and half to get a taxi into Conwy.
Location , staff ……. Pretty much everything !!
Nothing
Dirty curtains. Drainage in shower broken. Had to wait until next morning to have the Drainage fixed in shower, so no option to have a bath. £420 for two nights, I expected better. Emailed the hotel but no reply after two weeks.

Room size was fantastic, very clean and tidy. All staff were very friendly and helpful
Eating area was a tight for space
We were blown away with this hotel, the staff were wonderful, so attentive, a special shout out to Liam and Joyce in the restaurant. The food was extremely good and the spa was spotlessly clean. Our room overlooked the marina with a balcony. Another good thing was it had electric charging-peace of mind when you drive electric.

All good
Beautifully designed hotel, lovely, large modern room overlooking the estuary. Very professional, friendly staff. Great food in restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Didn't use the spa, but facilities were very good. Private parking.
Absolutely nothing (unless you count being too far to walk into town, but this didn't matter).

Nice location
Breakfast choice was pretty poor, would have had better choice in local town. Also having to book breakfast was annoying, appreciate it was for crowd control but nonetheless having to do it felt like doing admin
lovely hotel and spa facilities
Plenty of parking. Lovely views across estuary. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food good. Plenty of choice at breakfast and food was cooked to order. Rooms were large and comfortable. Easy to get a taxi into Conwy.
There was one small issue. We received an email before we arrived saying that there was an early bird dinner rate before 6.45pm. We booked this for our first evening and sat down at 6.35pm. We ordered drinks while we looked at menu. We probably ordered food at about 7.00pm. When the bill came it did not have our discount on it only to be told we had to have ORDERED before 6.45pm. Nowhere were we told this. We complained and even showed the waiter the email. He was very good and re-did the bill for the right amount. It should be made clear before we booked or sat down.
Loved the location although the lights by the railway line were a pain and took too long
Not being able to sit with friends for breakfast
Good spa very comfortable bed and pillows beautiful setting
The menu in the restaurant is not great
Lovely spa facilities lovely food and breakfast in the restaurant. Great view.
Mistake on arrival. We were given the wrong room which was embarassing and we got little apology for it.
We arrived early, and we were going to walk into Conwy. The receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. She got us checked in, even though the room wasn't ready so that when we returned all we needed was to collect the room key. She pointed out the easiest route and off we went. When we returned, our key was awaiting us, easy. Gave us enough time to drop our bags off in our room, and wander down for a swim and sauna. We ate in the restaurant that evening, lovely food. The second night we decided to eat in the bar, highly recommend the burger :-) Breakfast both mornings was very god, no problem if you want to swap items on the hot breakfast menu either.
I did telephone down to reception, and they said they would rectify this while we were in the spa. Returned to the room and they'd brought up 2 extra loo rolls!!!!!!! Odd!!!!!! I didn't bother asking again. The Spa opens to "non members" at 5pm.....even though you are staying you're not a member, so it gets very busy around then, you might want to factor this into your dinner booking plans.

Everything .... our stay was amazing, not one complaint ...the minute we arrived we felt welcomed by the staff , the hotel was spotless and absolutely gorgeous.. Our room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable we missed breakfast every day 😂 room service , spa , fabulous view from our balcony.... only down side was leaving .Just booked again.
Going home.
Great staff, hotel and especially the terrace. Really nice beer, cocktails and the restaurant was pricey but very good
Location. Cleanliness.
The pillows were too high
Location perfect on quayside, really relaxing Staff really friendly and nothing too much trouble. Lovely clean cosy room. Very nice breakfast.
Could just with some hanging hooks in the bathroom on the wall or back of the door for dressing gowns. If staying more than 2 or 3 nights perhaps salmon and avocado on the breakfast menu to add a little more choice.
Very clean room and communal areas, spa facilities were really good and again spa was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good plenty of choice for people. The location is fantastic great views of the Estuary and Conwy Castle and a 30 minute walk into the town centre with great views on route.
Everything was perfect, we stayed on our wedding night after getting married in a local establishment, the staff were so kind and got everything we needed. The views are incredible (sea view) the room was a great size (my partner had 4 family members over to get ready the morning of the wedding) and incredible stay was had
Nothing, everything was perfect
Lovely location. Freindly staff. Excellent room. Quiet corridors. Beautiful pool and spa area.
Restaurant menu and bar menu too similar. No hot chocolate on the tea tray in the room. For a hotel of this level I hoped there would be.
It was a lovely hotel with on site parking great bar and restaurant
Needed updating in the room
It said waterfront room but there was a car park in the way ...
The car park
The location and space in the hotel. The view.
On one of our stays we chose the junior suite. It didn’t live up to expectations of a suite nor did the facilities. Small room badly designed and cramped huge television too oh for the room
The location and the views from the outdoor seating area
The price I paid for the room and it weren’t worth the money. Then when you buy a pint and a glass of wine and it comes to £20 nearly fell over
Our first stay at the Quay Hotel and we will definitely return. Stunning location with views of the Conwy estuary. The hotel is attractively furnished, staff are friendly and efficient. Bar and restaurant are both excellent and well organised.
We stayed overnight in a Deluxe ground floor room with patio doors opening out to views of Conwy Castle. I felt like I was truly on holiday! We were blessed with lovely weather and it was so good to sit outside our room in the evening looking over at the castle - it was so relaxing and made our stay very special. Rooms were exceptionally clean, staff were so helpful. We ate in the Ebb and Flow Restaurant and really enjoyed the food. We will definitely return.
Booked on the spur of the moment for the next night and we weren’t disappointed. Had a lovely room overlooking the estuary on the ground floor. Sat on the terrace for drinks which was very chilled. Had a meal in the restaurant Ebb and Flow which was excellent. Had an hour in the spa which was very relaxing and spotless. We will return.
Great location
Expensive for what it is, rooms dated and not really comfortable, poor quality pillows and bedding, mattress in need of replacement. Staff friendly and rooms were clean. Breakfast good.
Good spa and pool facilities was very nice and plenty of parking available

Fantastic spa. Such friendly professional staff in spa reception, spa cafe, therapists. Etc Treatments amazing, cafe pleasant. Pool clean, nice temperature, great sauna, steam room and even have foot spas!! Missing a hot jacuzzi but hydro pool is equally pleasant maybe could be a touch warmer than the pool would make a slightly better experience. Overall a 10/10 experience, 😊. Deffo worth it. very relaxing & plesant.
Booked for birthday for my partner room.good size although we were on ground floor so couldent keep patio door open so room was to hot for me and the fan provided was noisy the spa was ok but couldent use in the day without paying extra for me it wasnt worth the money i payed as i have stayed in cheaper hotels and had a much better experiance
Lack of usb or plug socket on my side of the bed no smart tv apps just standard channels there was some dust in the room
Lovely ambience, staff was also very nice particularly Hannah who went out of her way to ensure my daughters shoe was mailed to our home when we forgot it. The spa and wellness amenities are also very good.
Location and views. Beautiful, spacious room. Comfy bed.
Everything as always
Dated rooms, very expensive for what it is although great location and friendly staff, rooms clean and tidy but for price paid not near standard expected, no air con, large noisy fan provided instead
Nice stay in a good location. Rooms were spacious. Staff warm and welcoming. Mostly positive reviews. The only negatives we have is the drinks/bar service. It was table service during the day and this was slow and also took some time for the drinks to arrive when the order was finally placed. We ate at the Ebb and Flow restaurant in the evening. Food was nice although it took me a while to consider what I wanted to eat. The options didn’t jump out at me, but what I didn’t finally opt for was lovely. Again the drinks service was slow. Our meals had arrived and we had started to eat before our drinks/wine order had arrived. Usually have started drinks before orders are taken. We also ordered coffee at the end of the meal but again by the time it had been delivered to the table we had paid the bill, was sat waiting, we had to chase this as we had been sat so long we was ready to go to the room so it ended up being a wasted order. Serving staff were all polite and they brought my partner a dessert out for his birthday which was a lovely touch. We would have liked to use the spa facilities and had intended to. But the times we could do were at a cost which wasn’t a major issue we would have paid but we decided to venture out with the nice weather. We are used to these facilities being included when we book regular stays/weekends away. The hotel did offer time slots in which they were free to us however the morning slot meant we would have had to rise crack of dawn to go before our breakfast slot as this had to be prebooked. We are usually early risers but given it’s a relaxing weekend away it’s nice to not have to set an alarm for 6-7am. By the time our breakfast slot was finished, the inclusive spa time slot had passed. There is an evening slot also inclusive but we were booked in at the restaurant at 7:30pm so had to be in the room to get ready meaning we only really had the option to pay to use the facilities. I would recommend the hotel but personally I would more than likely look for a hotel with spa facilities are included in the stay or inclusive times available are a little more convenient.
I have given the quay 3 stars due to few issues i booked the superior room on a monday night at cost of £250 as i like a room where i can open the balcony door however we were on the ground floor near the road so couldent leave the door open at night making the room to hot for me i tried the fan but that was to noisy so my nights sleep wasnt a good one the spa side was ok but you cant use it between 9am and 5 pm unless you pay extra then its free after that the staff were excellent and food was good just for me the room was a disapoinment for a four star hotel but had it been a different room my review might of been different but i have stayed in various hotels and this is the first one i wouldent rush back to stay in again
The food was excellent and the breakfast had so much choice and beautifully presented
Nothing
The staff went above & beyond. They were attentive, friendly & very professional. The facilities were of a high standard & felt at ease when attending the pool/spa alone. Cleanliness was of the upmost importance & clearly showed on our stay. Beautiful setting.
Not alot of eating establishments in the immediate surrounding area unless you drove or got a taxi/uber.
The suites are fantastic, best views and comfort. Staff is very friendly. Good room service. Clean and tidy. Reservation process is simple.
Lovely hotel and surrounding area, modern and clean with very comfortable beds. A bit disappointed in the toiletries in the bathroom, I really dislike the fixed on the wall shampoo conditioner and shower/ bath gels. I expected a spa hotel to have better products in the bathrooms . Also we took our little dg and paid £25 per night extra but there was no dog bowl in the room or dog bed which we have had in all other dog friendly hotels because of this we would not stop again it's definitely not very dog friendly she couldn't go anywhere except fir a little room at the back of reception.
The Spa
The room we were first put in
What a fabulous place really relaxing very kind helpful staff From restaurant staff Antonio and the team was very professional but did forget my peppermint tea 😂 but its wasn’t a problem To receptionist Kim who was a lovely very helpful full of joy To bar staff and restaurant service We couldn’t fault this hotel
Stayed for 3 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Had a ground floor estuary view room. This is our 4th visit, we go for a full relax, it’s my happy place, just love the view and location. Rooms are good, food excellent as always and the staff go out of their way to make sure you’re happy! Special mentions to: Tracey in the Cove Bar: this lady is amazing! Friendly, professional, knew people’s orders, always a little word with guests, and kept everything running smoothly. Liam in the Ebb and Flow restaurant, was our server most nights, polite, knowledgeable on the menu, and just a lovely lad. I had a facial and massage at the spa by Kelly, it was amazing! Weather wasn’t the best while we were there ( hence a spa booking!) but the scenery and views are amazing whether it’s stunning sunsets or moody skies. Had a good day around Conwy, followed a coastal path from the hotel. I will say I was glad we weren’t there in a heatwave as rooms do not have air con, but hotel always provide fans , this has happened to us before so we were well aware of it, usually it’s a make or break for me booking somewhere, however for my happy place I’m more than happy to make that compromise! We’ll be back again!
The staff were lovely, the location was great and the hotel and rooms were really nice
Although we paid a premium price we were only allowed to use the Spa before 9am and after 5pm. The food at the restaurant on the evening was mediocre.
Accessibility
The property was very clean and there wasn’t any noise at night time. The bar area was lovely, they also have a lounge area you can relax in. The outdoor area overlooked the stunning marina with views of the castle, which was beautiful when lit up at night.
The only issue we had was on the first night we could hear what sounded like creaky floorboards above us. We were on the top floor so we assumed it was because of the wind. It didn’t happen on the second night.
Great location with Conwy only a short stroll away . The hotel is well run and well kept, very clean in all areas ,staff very friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble . The suites with the estuary / castle view are very good ,high floor recommend if possible we had the penthouse a nice room overall. Cove bar very good great atmosphere . Ebb and flow very good ,was really noisy though with a coach party on the occasion we used it . A very nice break even though weather was changeable , it’s the UK so what can you expect lol. Would highly recommend.
Stayed earlier in the year - booked three rooms for family . Two of the rooms overlooked the estuary - lovely . Ours overlooked the garden - which was ok although the room was very dark . Bed ok . Breakfast very good . Wonderful staff
Staff were great. Food was brilliant especially the breakfast. And the hotel itself and spa facilities were fantastic. Will definitely return
The only thing we struggled with the heat in the room. We had a fan but the heat was really uncomfortable
Very stylish and great location. High quality vibe with great views
Bar area overcrowded and bar food was average and limited in choice, restaurant was better but still only average food
Location , facilities, staff , room
Ns
Location next to estuary perfect, even in August plenty of tables on the terrace/bar
Slight timing issue in restaurant, didn't spoil our meal
Breakfast and dinner were superb. The hotel and spa was very well equipped and the views and terrace, stunning.
On our arrival there was a problem with our booking where the third party had booked a different room for us for the second night, meaning we had to change rooms. Whilst this was not the hotels fault, when I asked if we could stay in the same room for the second night the lady was very abrupt and not empathetic at all, despite me being very polite. The lady young lady was curt and un helpful. Even if she was not interested, at least she could have listened instead of cutting me off and saying basically you should have not booked with a third party. Not a great first impression. Every other member of staff though was polite and were a credit to the Hotel. Despite this we had a lovely time, but we were very perplexed by the un welcoming manner which we received.
Excellent location by the sea and a short walk to the castle. Hotel is well maintained. Staff are lovley
Loved the position , beautiful Bed room and really excellent pool complex
We would have liked better coffee and fresh orange juice at breakfast but a minor point
Superb location, excellent staff and the views of the Quay were stunning. Would highly recommend as very much felt looked after during our entire stay.
This is an excellent hotel that does what a good hotel should do! My wife and I felt super welcome whilst staying there and really enjoyed the spa area. The place is super clean, the team do a great job of making git spick and span. They may not be a ton of food spots right on your doorstep, but it's positioned perfectly to go to Llandudno, Conwy, Colwyn Bay etc. We didn't find it a problem at all. Set right on the water, eating outside was beautiful. Would 100% recommend this gem.
Location great Staff pleasant Clean
Been several times and I feel needs upgrading now Parking dreadful
Wonderful place to stay. Fabulous rooms, comfort staff, views and location. Very conveniently located for Conwy and Llandudno. A most relaxing atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend.
Location is excellent. Nice modern interior with cute courtyard.
The cost to use the onsite swimming pool is ridiculously high, this used to be included in a stay. The sound of the bedroom doors being left to bang close is very disturbing.
All the food is exceptionally good, the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The location is good for visiting different tourist spots.
Nothing
We’ve eaten here many times and have never experienced any problems but today has been an eye opener. The usual friendly service was poor and on the point of rude from some of the older staff. What a difference a week makes. The menu clearly states that lunch is served from 12 - 3pm but we were told in no uncertain terms that it was 12:30 and we couldn’t order in advance, no apology for the misprint on the menus. The food options have changed, fewer choices, higher prices. The water we asked for never arrived. We did wonder why the car park was less busy than usual. Sorry but we’re off to the Mulberry!
We had the most fantastic day celebrating our wedding at The Quay Hotel. From start to finish, everything was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect venue for such a special occasion. The food was outstanding and received so many compliments from our guests. The staff who were working on the day were absolutely brilliant — so friendly, attentive and helpful — and this was something that was commented on by all of our guests. They really helped to make the day feel so relaxed and special. The views from the top room, looking out onto the balcony, were simply breathtaking and provided the most beautiful backdrop for our wedding. We also stayed at the hotel the following night, and once again the staff were fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed chatting with them all over dinner and drinks the following day. It was such a lovely way to round off an already incredible wedding celebration. A huge thank you to everyone at The Quay Hotel for helping to make our wedding day so memorable. We would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful venue, fantastic food and genuinely wonderful staff.
Everything was just perfect! Staff were phenomenal too! Especially Shaun. Location, food, service and best spa I have ever visited!
Nothing
Such a lovely hotel and location. Everything was lovely. The room, the food, staff, and the leisure facilities. Fantastic.
Having to go home should have booked a longer stay.
great apart from a small incident but that made us feel unwelcome, but i detailed this on the survey to the hotel, hopefully it was just a one off
This is second time we’ve stayed at the Quay for 5 nights and it yet again exceeded expectations. The location is still breathtaking with the view from each of the huge three rooms booked was exceptional. As spotless as ever and each and every member of staff could not do enough for us. Special commendations to Kath on reception who is absolutely amazing both professional and personal. Claire who manages the spa is outstanding - a real treasure of a leader. The spa and pool are spotless and the massages out of this world - Maddy is a gem I was so impressed I booked a further massage, as did my son after my initial massage! Had a super meal in the restaurant and wished we’d booked more in the restaurant rather than going out as it was that good. We tried to book for next year but couldn’t as the Quay is fully booked at our available times a year ahead !!! So I’ve booked for 2028 and will have to cope next year without Conwy 😔 Congratulations the Quay and spa for consistently beating your already high standards. Absolute gem of a hotel
Very limited window opening in very hot conditions... fan provided very very loud so not fit for purpose
Clean and managed.
Receptionist a tad abrupt at check in. Booking breakfast time. Breakfast left on the pass too long and almost cold. Room next to the bar where people smocked which drifted into our room.
Evening dinner was great. Room nice and comfortable. Staff really helpful
Nothing. It was all nice.
Hotel was clean and very up market

A little bit out of the way
We really enjoyed the spa, and reception, bar and restaurant staff were excellent. Very comfortable rooms, and breakfast was great.
Superb!
Really nice and friendly staff at check-in, the bar, the restaurant and the spa.
We had an inner courtyard room so limited view from the room but even then it overlooked a pleasant garden area so wasn't a major issue for us
Had a cooked breakfast and it was cold !the room was nice had a lovely view , skirting boards was dusty!
There was not much choice on the evening menu for vegetarians !
Dining area, views and food.
The room was excellent. Breakfast was excellent Views were excellent
I don't like still water. I would normally have expected one of each at least. Staff in the bar and restaurant were not always as attentive as I would have expected. We were in early for dinner. I was surprised that the waiter brought another couple next to our table. In all other restaurants I have been in they usually tend to spread out guests, until it gets full in which case its not possible.
Fantastic stay, Brilliant staff and the food was excellent Hotel location is brilliant with great views especially on the terrace with a nice cold beer.
Location.
Things like the biscuits in the room are now cheaper versions. One member of staff was not polite re my mom’s walker.
