The service and staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very quick to resolve any issues that came up. The rooftop lounge area was very nice too!

Die Lage ist unschlagbar, sehr ruhig insgesamt. Das Frühstück ist prima, das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, in der Rooftop Bar kann man den Tag herrlich bei einem Espresso Martini beenden. Die Betten sind hervorragend. Ich war bereits zum zweiten Mal da und werde wieder buchen.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The location was fantastic—very central and within easy reach of everything, with the train station also very close by. The hotel itself was exactly our style: a lovely boutique feel, modern, cosy and inviting. The staff were amazing—so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was gorgeous. It’s a lovely small, friendly hotel with a really welcoming atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Loved the rooms, the bed and the bathroom. Location is very covenient if you eant access to the metro so you can use the main train station. The train for the airport is also about 5-8mins on foot away.

The mini fridge was fully stocked leaving almost no space if you wanted to store items.

Excellent location, within a reasonable walking distance of Málaga’s main points of interest. The train station, bus station, historic city centre, and the beach are all around 1.5 km away. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, a very convenient place to stay and explore Málaga on foot.

Decorated with a keen artistic eye. Absolutely perfect location, extremely comfortable bed, amazing shower, exceptionally friendly staff. They even shipped some items that were left behind in the room.

I loved this hotel. My bedroom was very large as was the bathroom - and it had a bath! The bed was huge and comfortable. The room was cleaned efficiently every day. I never take breakfast in foreign hotels because part of the joy of travelling is to find a local cafe and enjoy its ambience - plenty of those nearby. For me, the hotel was in an excellent location too - it's in a quiet street just two or three hundred yards from the historic centre. You can walk to the historic centre in a few minutes. Taxis from the airport can get the hotel easily too. There are Ubers a plenty. Although there are dozens of hotels in the historic centre, in a city with so many tourists and a tendency for people to dine late, with drinking even later, I suspect that those ones would be quite noisy at night and less accessible to taxis. No such problems at the Mariposa. Although I'm unlikely ever to come to Málaga again to stay in the city, if I did, I would have no hesitation of booking here again. Can thoroughly recommend.

We stayed three nights for a city break. Breakfast was ok the bacon and sausage was not that good however the fruit yoghurt pastries etc were fine. It could do with some background music as people eat to help with the atmosphere. The hotel is in a good location however it can be noisy at 2am when the bins are emptied. The roof top terrace is a good addition however take your own drinks as the bar doesn't open until early evening .You cant even get water . The rooms are spacious and have everything you need..the bathroom is fully equipped. We would stay again if in malaga

When cleaning the tables from breakfast, crumbs and food waste should not be wiped off the edge of the table to the floor. The coffee machine failed every morning for capochino despite telling the staff member.

We're a family of four who stayed at this hotel for a week in August 2026 with two rooms booked. This is a brilliant hotel and I would definitely stay again. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. A mini bar was also in each room which was handy and I thought it was a really nice touch having a fan, baseball cap, slippers and flip flops should you need them. There's a coffee machine and if you ask at reception they can also give you a kettle for tea. Rooftop bar is really nice and they have those spray mist things to keep you cool which was very much welcomed. Breakfast was good and you could have freshly squeezed orange juice. Plenty of cereals, pastries, hams, cheeses to keep everyone happy. Cooked breakfast also available so bacon, scrambled eggs, small sausages and vegetarian options. What made this place beyond just good was the housekeeping where they were spot on making up your rooms and they did brilliantly working around us as we were in and out of the hotel quite frequently. Reception was excellent too with nothing being too much trouble for them. Ordered taxis for us, offered to loan us parasols for the beach and gave me fresh milk for my tea. Decor lovely too both inside and out. On the inside they have these amazing multicoloured sculptures dotted all over the hotel which is brilliant. And on the outside the hotel is quite famous for the plants that grow all over its walls outside. I regularly saw people taking photos of it so must be a bit of an attraction in its own right. Massive thanks to all the staff at the Mariposa! Hope to visit again soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Every one of the staff were so helpful and friendly. The whole hotel was very clean. We really liked the towels they were big and spotless. Beds were extremely comfortable. We asked for a kettle and was given one immediately. I would say that bigger cups would be good for tea. The rooftop bar and lounging area was really nice. Plenty of towels for the sunbeds. The bar staff were really good. Slightly more expensive than the bar's around there but not excessive. The location was very good. 5 minutes from the train station and close to the town centre. Really quiet we never heard any noise. If we visit Malaga again we will use this hotel.

Because it's in the city there isn't anywhere to hang wet clothes if you go to the beach or wash out your smalls. Aircon wasn't that great.

The air conditioner was a bit too loud. It gave out a loud noise when it turned on and off, which is completely unnecessary and disturbing. But otherwise, it worked perferctly.

The AC in the room keeps turning on and off throughout the night, which makes it uncomfortable and causes you to wake up sweating. The breakfast is also terrible and definitely not worth €5—there are no vegetables or fruit, mostly sweet food, and only two types of eggs.

Nos alojamos en una habitación del cuarto piso que estaba abuhardillada, y lo que no nos gustó fue algo que para nuestra opinión tiene fácil solución y sin embargo es bastante molesto, que es la mala disposición de las cortinas por lo que entra muchísima luz, aunque te proporcionan un antifaz para dormir, pensamos que la solución es bastante simple, únicamente cambiando las cortinas, en lugar de colgarlas del techo ponerlas justo encima de la ventana, o dejarlas tal como están y ponerle un estor a la ventana totalmente opaco, nosotros tuvimos que tirar de ingenio para conseguir tapar los huecos que eran muchos por donde entraba bastante luz, es una lástima porque por lo general el hotel está de sobresaliente pero para nosotros resultaba bastante molesto tanta claridad.

Easy to get to Marina and attractions as hotel very central. Lots of nice restaurants around the area. The staff were all very friendly and were there to assist with anything you needed.

Just back from a lovely long weekend in Malaga with my daughter and two family members. Had a fab stay in the Mariposa Hotel. From check in on Thursday night to leaving on Tuesday morning, we could not have been more happy with our choice. Our rooms on the 2nd floor were perfect with water/tea/coffee in room on arrival along with slippers, flip flops and even a fan (nice extra touch). The shower was powerful also. All staff were so polite and friendly and a special shout out to Nicholas on reception who was so pleasant and helpful. Roof top bar was a bonus at the end of the day, and staff were lovely there also You could walk everywhere from the hotel - it was so convenient for all of the city. We didn't eat in the hotel but there were lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby. All in all, we had a great weekend and would definitely recommend this hotel. Will stay here again if back in Malaga.

We have just had a long weekend at Hotel Mariposa to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport by train by tapping in and out with an appropriate card, no need to buy a ticket. It’s then just a 10 minute walk. The hotel is really conveniently located for the city and there are plenty of buses nearby if you want to venture further afield. The reception staff were very welcoming and efficient. We were travelling with our 21yo son and had a triple room which was very spacious so didn’t feel too small for 3 adults. The room and bathroom were very clean and the housekeepers were like ninjas, always coming while we were at breakfast 😂 Breakfast was very nice with a selection of breads, meats and cheeses, eggs, roasted vegetables, sausages (continental) lovely fresh fruit, juices, teas, coffees, water, yogurts, fresh pastries and cereals. Breakfast is served until 11.30 (12 at weekends) which is superb for a later start, or if you want to go out into the city early first. Breakfast is regularly replenished too. The rooftop area is a lovely place to relax with towels provided. The bar on the rooftop is also lovely with interesting decor and good service. On the day of my birthday, I came back from breakfast to a lovely message and a small cake with a candle and some sweets which was a really nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend the hotel and would definitely stay again if we return. Thank you Hotel Mariposa!

Just arrived home after a three night stay for our silver wedding anniversary. It exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, amazing room complete with lounge and kitchen area. The staff so friendly, rooftop terrace relaxing, breakfast was fine the bacon and sausage not to my liking but I didn’t go hungry with plenty of other options including amazing fresh fruit and pastries. Central location short walk from train station which was so easy I’m glad we didn’t book a taxi at less than €2 pp for train we just tapped our card and jumped on the train no need to queue for tickets. Only problem was not staying longer. Thank you Mariposa for a memorable weekend

Really lovely welcoming and friendly staff. The hotel has a very cool vibe and has amazing art everywhere. Very central location and some really nice touches in the room for guests (I won’t spoil the surprise). Great roof terrace. I travel to Malaga regularly for work but this was my first time at this hotel. I will probably stay here from now on. As lovely as the hotel is, it was the staff members that really stood out - always saying hello as I walked past reception.

2nd visit to the wonderful Mariposa Hotel. Location is excellent, 5 minute walk from Malaga Central station and 5 minutes you are in the centre for shopping, restaurants and bars. Breakfast included in the deal and there was a great selection on offer, both hot and cold. Room was really nice with a good size bathroom. There is also a rooftop bar. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. If travelling to Malaga this is an amazing hotel to stay, I highly recommend it and when next in Malaga I will definitely stay here again.

De locatie en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Het hotel is netjes en opgeruimd. Er stond een glazen fles water voor ons klaar, er was een minibar en een kluisje op de slaapkamer.

Tapijt op de vloer van de kamer vind ik heel onhygiënisch. De man die het ontbijt verzorgde had een hele sterke lichaamsgeur (oud zweet). Dat is niet prettig als je aan het eten bent.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The location is fantastic in a quiet street but so close to everything and the staff are absolutely amazing nothing is too much trouble. You have a really good choice for breakfast and all fresh and plenty of it. On the roof you have somewhere to sunbath and also a lovely bar which is open until 1 am. I will definitely be staying there again and cannot recommend it enough.

Convenient location in the Soho area, 5 mins walk from Malaga Centro station and a short stroll to the large indoor food market and main shopping area.Also convenient to an amazing choice of restaurants/eateries in the area where we ate both evenings of our stay. The hotel had a nice relaxed atmosphere with fabulous pieces of art in the form of paintings to sculptures in the breakfast area to the rooftop bar( which was lovely to sit and chill with a drink at the end of the evening) This was a celebratory stay for my husband and I , and to our surprise , when checking in, had a room upgrade that was just the cherry on the top ! Our room looked out into the street below but we were not disturbed by any noise. The place was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only fault I could find was that apart from a couple of English speaking news channels on the huge tv in our room, there were no other English speaking channels available. To be fair , we weren’t there to watch the tv but it would have been nice to have the choice. There was also a safe available in the room , fully stocked fridge, bathrobes, slippers, flip flops for ( I’m assuming) standing in the bath if having a shower, and little touches like a hat, paper fan and a charging point for electronics at the desk area in the room. All in all, I would recommend this hotel if you wanted a little more luxury for your money when staying in Malaga . Perfect location , amazing choices at the breakfast buffet and I would definitely came back to stay again when visiting this fabulous city

Have been going to Malaga for years and never found a hotel we really liked. This hotel was perfect for us 5 minute walk from the train station we arrived early hoping to drop our bags off but the lovely lady on the front desk said our room was ready lovely spacious and clean room everything you would need staff very friendly and welcoming breakfast was excellent. Definitely be back.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer ausgezeichneten Lage. Es verfügt über eigene Parkplätze, die allerdings für grössere Autos nicht zu empfehlen sind. Fast alles ist innerhalb von etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar.

Zimmer mit Blick auf die Hauptstrasse bzw. die Promenade können etwas lauter sein 😊

Het personeel was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het hotel was heel netjes en er werd dagelijks gepoetst. De ligging was uitstekend, dicht bij alle bezienswaardigheden, restaurants, haven, strand.

Het hotel ligt in een mooi en nog relatief rustig deel van Malaga. Er is een rooftop bar. Het ontbijt was prima voorzien, genoeg keuze. Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam.

Mi estancia en el Hotel Mariposa fue excelente. El hotel es muy limpio, cómodo y me sentí muy segura durante todo el viaje, incluso viajando sola. La ubicación es perfecta: pude ir caminando a prácticamente todos los lugares importantes de Málaga — el centro histórico, Muelle Uno, la playa, museos y restaurantes. El personal fue increíblemente amable y atento. Siempre me saludaban con una sonrisa y me ayudaron mucho durante mi estancia. Gracias a ellos, me sentí muy bienvenida desde el primer día. Málaga fue una experiencia preciosa para mí y este hotel fue una gran parte de ello. Sin duda volvería 💛
