The public spaces, pool, view of the lake, location are spectacular. Breakfast was beautifully prepared , displayed , and delicious. The setting for the pool view and breakfast view across the lake is breathtaking. We were fortunate to have a window to the lake, which we absolutely enjoyed morning and night! Rooms and bathrooms are very comfortable.

The carpets in the room and halls and elevators are stained, old and dated. They needed to be updated. Duvets on beds could be more plush, and the bedspreads removed.

location was excellent right by the ferry station. The breakfasts were extensive and delicious! The rooms were a little small but the view for breakfast and pool area was very pleasant.

It’s beautiful! Rooms were great. The only issues was we did not have a real shower but we rigged up the handle to make o e in the tub.

The pool bar food was not very good at all and very limited. The panini was pretty bad. No salad options either

The main highlight of the Grand Hotel Menaggio is undoubtedly its location and the beautiful views over Lake Como. Fortunately, we had booked rooms overlooking the lake, and the view is genuinely impressive. I would also like to highlight the housekeeping staff, who did an excellent job. They were efficient and professional, and their work deserves to be recognised. Unfortunately, these were the only genuinely positive aspects of our stay, but the views over Lake Como are certainly beautiful.

Unfortunately, our experience at the Grand Hotel Menaggio was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was simply not up to standard. The welcome at reception was cold and unprofessional, the check-in process was unnecessarily complicated and unfriendly, and the overall handling of our arrival was poor. Some members of the reception staff would not even bother to say hello. More generally, the staff seem to be seriously lacking in training and proper supervision. At breakfast, the service was reduced to the bare minimum, and even getting a simple coffee could take far too long. The rooms are dated and clearly in need of substantial renovation. There was not even a complimentary bottle of water in the room. The shutters and curtains do not properly block out the light, meaning we were woken up by daylight every morning. The bathroom was probably the worst part. The shower was extremely outdated, with signs of mould on the walls, a very basic shower head, almost no water pressure, and a shower system that simply did not work properly. The toiletries provided were also surprisingly low quality for a hotel claiming to be four-star. The food was disappointing as well, and we found the restaurant mediocre. We also did not find the hotel particularly welcoming towards pets. Beyond the ageing facilities, the main problem is the overall standard of service. This hotel needs not only a major renovation, but also a complete review of staff training, management and service standards from the parking and luggage service to reception and breakfast. We stayed here because the other hotels we wanted were fully booked. If you have a choice, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. In our opinion, the Grand Hotel Menaggio simply does not currently provide the facilities, service or overall experience one should reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel.

Nous avons été extrêmement déçus par cette chambre, surtout compte tenu du tarif de 1 200 € par nuit. À ce niveau de prix, on s’attend à un véritable confort, à une conception soignée et à un mobilier de qualité. Malheureusement, cette chambre n’offrait rien de tout cela. L’agencement est tout simplement déroutant. Le lavabo est installé dans l’entrée au lieu de la salle de bains, ce qui rend son utilisation quotidienne peu pratique. La salle de bains est équipée d’une baignoire avec une douchette, mais sans pare-douche ni rideau, si bien que prendre une douche inonde inévitablement le sol. Les espaces de rangement sont également totalement insuffisants. Il n’y a pas de véritable penderie, seulement quelques portants à vêtements, une solution qui semble davantage adaptée à un hôtel économique qu’à un établissement de luxe. Le mobilier et la décoration sont tout aussi décevants. La chambre est meublée d’un mélange étrange de portants bon marché, de meubles modernes, de chaises d’inspiration classique et de couleurs disparates, créant une atmosphère confuse et sans cohérence. On a l’impression que la chambre a été aménagée sans véritable réflexion sur le design ni sur sa fonctionnalité. Même si la chambre était propre, cela ne suffit pas à justifier un tarif aussi exorbitant. Pour 1 200 € la nuit, je m’attendais à une chambre élégante, raffinée et fonctionnelle. J’ai au contraire découvert un espace mal conçu, où le confort a été sacrifié au profit d’un parti pris esthétique discutable. Cela étant, je tiens à souligner que le manager et son équipe ont été à l’écoute de nos remarques et ont immédiatement cherché à trouver une solution satisfaisante. Leur professionnalisme, leur disponibilité et leur volonté de nous aider ont été sincèrement appréciés, même s’ils ne pouvaient pas remédier aux défauts fondamentaux de la chambre.

Super hotel located on the shore of the lake. Rooms are comfortable and housekeeping do a super job every day. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice and the staff are very helpful and professional. Pool is fantastic and lots of choice in seating and sunbathing overlooking the lake. Easy walk into Menaggio and access to the ferry. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is located steps from the ferry with is a big plus ! Eating a wonderful breakfast as you are looking at the lake was amazing . The hotel was just beautiful !

Stunning hotel, fantastic location, free parking, friendly staff, good food and drink, short walk to the town centre. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade, giving us a view of Lake Como, which was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

No iron in the room, and none available to send up. Was shown to a laundry room with an iron and ironing board we could use, which was a surprise. There is no doubt the hotel is fantastic, and the price of staying there reflects that.

Room was shabbily decorated, masking tape still attached to the wall. No wardrobe, instead coat rails made room appear cheaply done. Worst sleep due to three (yes three) sensor lights flashing all night above the bed, fundamental design flaw.

Bedroom and bathroom was quite old, particularly when you consider the price point you are paying. It didnt even have a proper hair dryer, the shower was incredible old and uncomfortable and it’s actually a bath with curtains. Carpet could have a renewal as well.

The quietness and the continental breakfast was excellent.

The room we stayed in was very out-dated, the AC was so-so. We were charged an additional $300 euros to upgrade our room from street view to lake view.

Amazing location, perfect view, a lot of care for the guests, I loved the thoughtful and pretty hotel pool bag with towels. The staff is very friendly, the garden is beautiful and amazing breakfast.

The bathroom could be renovated, specially the shower box. There is no proper placement for shower products. And it’s also very small.

Tolle Lage mit Seeblick auf den Comer See. Erstklassiges Frühstück mit großer Auswahl. Die Lage des Hotels ist unmittelbar neben einem Fähranleger. So kann das Auto stehen bleiben und man erreicht nahezu jeden anderen Ort recht preiswert. Sämtliche Straßen sind sehr verkehrsreich und unheimlich eng.

L’acceuil etait correcte

La chambre est un peu vieillotte, il n’y a pas de Smart TV, et il y a du bruit toute la nuit pour les chambres donnant sur la rue, car l’isolation sonore est insuffisante. En revanche, le petit-déjeuner est très bon et copieux. Nous avons été très bien servis et le personnel était aux petits soins.

Zmuszeni byliśmy zmienić pokój, otrzymaliśmy znacznie wygodniejszy utrzymując wcześniej ustaloną cenę. Tak samo wydłużając pobyt o dzień dłużej. Bardzo dziękujemy i szczerze polecamy.

The staff were absolutely wonderful!!! The location is spectacular! The breakfast was a delight! The view was magical! The fact that the ferry is right next door could not have been better! And we found an amazing pizza place nearby that came recommended by the staff!

The bed and the pillows are terribly uncomfortable. And the noise outside goes until the middle of the night and starts up again around 7am. As disappointing as this was, I would still book here again for all of the positive reasons I listed.
