Hotel Bellavista

Don't be put off by the poor reviews. The hotel probably has the best location in Menaggio just 2 mins walk from the ferry port and the same from the cafes of the main town square. Our room was spotlessly clean and the hotel appears very well looked after. Room had a kettle, safe, fridge and very effective air con which was welcome when outside temperature exceeded 35! We paid extra for a balcony and lake view and whilst I dont think it was particularly good value I think Lake Como is just generally quite an expensive place to stay, so when in Como and all that !!! View was spectacular across to Varenna and Bellagio and balcony was a wonderful spot to enjoy breakfast or an aperitivo so definitelyglad we upgraded. Swimming pool was again well maintained and we always managed to get loungers despite it being small. Such a treat to have a dip after a hot day's sightseeing. Staff were helpful and told us how and where to get bus tickets to Luggano for shopping. We did have a couple of issues - the beds weren't made when we arrived but the lady on reception was very apologetic and did it straight away and we had an evening without any cold water in the bathroom so we couldn't take a shower or flush the toilet. This was rectified the following morning and thankfully didn't happen again. So in summary the hotel provided everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. It is 3 star and if you want 5 star accommodation there are other options in town - but they cost 5 times the price!

A very grand feeling hotel. Menaggio is all about the ferries and Hotel Bellavista is 2 mins walk away. The view from the balcony is of both Varenna and Bellagio, with snow capped mountains behind. The pool was a real treat for a lakeside hotel. Lovely staff. A very memorable stay.

This place is in need of a serious remodel. Tiny room, hard bed and the AC only worked sometimes. The bathroom was nearly inoperable. I’m 5’1” and had to duck for a shower, with water going everywhere. It also didn’t drain The hallway, eek! The location is picture perfect with a lovely balcony view. But don’t expect to sit by the pool and enjoy a cocktail, that’s not allowed. Also the pool closes at 6:30 so no down time after walking all day. Overall a beautiful location but needs a lot of work.

Vue magnifique sur le lac, chambre confortable avec une bonne literie, personnel accueillant, restaurant cher mais de super bonne qualité. Pour terminer, les liaisons en bateau entre les villages sont un vrai plus.

L'insonorisation des chambres n'est malheureusement pas suffisante et donc, je vous conseille de prendre des boules quies. Le restaurant est magnifiquement situé le long du lac mais malheureusement non chauffé en automne et nous avions donc froid.

Bel hotel nel centro di Menaggio, affaccio sul lago con panorama mozzafiato (come stare su una barca). Stanza comoda e ampia, letto comodo. Ottima colazione.

The location and the lake views were spectacular. Close to the ferry and a quaint piazza with multiple cafe’s and restaurants. The staff especially the front desk were amazing

My son and I shared a twin room and had a fantastic stay at BellaVista. Our room on the first floor had a little balcony with two chairs, looking straight across to the over-run tourist trap that is Bellagio (and just a short boat ride away). We went for a swim in the lake, jumping in from the hotel jetty, so refreshing, then into the (unheated) hotel swimming pool which was a little warmer. The reception staff were fun and welcoming and gave us extra towels. We went out for dinner nearby, great location, when we got back at 2230 the hotel restaurant was happily full of younger adults. Breakfast was a buffet, fairly standard but perfectly good. We left our bags and then later were given accurate advice about bus and boat timetables. Really enjoyed our stay. So much better than Bellagio.

The views were extraordinary. Pictured on the website do not do it justice. Walking into the room and seeing Lake Como in all of its glory was something I will never forget.

The location was just excellent being right on the shoreline with wonderful views of Lake Como. The hotel restaurant was excellent (even made breakfast for us despite the breakfast service having finished 15 mins earlier) and there were other nearby options that were also excellent. The laundromat about 50m up the street was also a game changer (we'd been on the road for 4 weeks) allowing us to catch up on our washing for another couple of weeks.

Car parking was a bit hit & miss but also understandable as there simply isn't much space for car parks anywhere in Menaggio!

La chambre le lit et la douche sont très petits ! Difficile de se doucher dans un espace exigu. Une odeur de renfermé, d'humidité. La ventilation n'est pas réglable et elle est bruyante pendant toute la nuit. Nous avons eu froid et des difficultés à dormir. Dès 8 h le matin, du bruit dans les couloirs.

Wunderbare Lage mit direktem Blick auf den See und eigenem kleinen Balkon. Terrasse für Früstück etc. auch direkt am See, traumhaft!

This hotel is clean and comfortable however the rooms are very small, which is fine for a 3 night stay but could Do no longer .

We had a room looking into town. Could see the hillside and church but no water. Views from the restaurant were great overlooking the lake. Bed was not that comfortable but ok. It was too cool and rainy to use the pool but it looked inviting. Great breakfast was included and dinner was very good but a bit expensive.

The room was tiny and noisy they had a door stop on the floor leading into the bathroom that was not needed as the room was so small the door did not fully open. On the second day I went into the bathroom tripped over door stop bashed my arm on the metal door handle hurt it badly. I went to tell staff at reception they removed the door stop screw. I went back to reception 5 staff member were there the man who worked in the kitchen screamed in broken English it’s impossible you done that injury today I worked in first aid impossible it was like a scene from faulty towers . No sorry my arm was badly hurt massive bruise for my whole trip around Europe The room was tiny on the road cars went past all night We told reception they said yes this happens on weekends it’s quiet throughout the week! Overall the staff were not friendly one blonde lady at the bar was friendly only . The staff seemed to work morning noon and night! But the man trying to tell me the injury didn’t happen in their hotel was next level rude

I'm was apprehensive staying here as there wasn't many reviews or recent ones but I didn't need to worry! This hotel was perfect. Menaggio is probably one of the best areas to stay, it's the perfect balance between quiet and busy but with easy links to wherever you want to go and explore. The staff were accommodating and helpful when we had questions, and the views are breath-taking. The breakfast was just right, lots of choice for a small hotel and we enjoyed it every day. We will definitely be returning again!

Lovely hotel with a great pool and sun beds. Great view over Lake Como. The staff were the best! We were celebrating our honeymoon here and they gave a nice bottle of prosecco to celebrate which we really appreciated. Thank you!

Great location and view from the lake view room. Swimming pool area is also cosy and nice. Staff is super friendly! Easy nearby parking (must book in advance, chargeable). For a 3 starts hotel this is a great choice!

Location was great. View from the room incredible. The bar and dining area right on the water. We didn’t eat at the hotel but looked great. We stayed in the attic room so had a little balcony

This property was beautiful and right on the lake. The location was very convenient to the ferry and the local square. Breakfast each morning had a nice variety of choices.

Śniadania bardzo monotonne, produkty spożywcze na niskim poziomie. Materac w łóżku bardzo twardy, nie polecamy szczególnie dla osób mających problemy z kręgosłupem. Pod łóżkiem - kurz, nigdy nie sprzątany. Pokój mały, o cienkich ścianach, słychać odgłosy z pomieszczeń sąsiadów.

We had a beautiful view from our patio overlooking amazing Lake Como. The room is small, but typical in Europe. The WiFi was very slow, sadly!

Good price for a hotel with a pool and our room had a balcony. The room was very clean upon arrival and cleaning services daily were consistent. Great location 2 minute walk from the ferry and a few minutes to all of the shops and restaurants. Overall very happy with the hotel and price.

Breakfast did not meet our expectations. Neither bread, nor eggs, nor juice were of good quality. Certainly room for improvement.

Locatie is perfect, midden in Mennagio aan t meer. Lekker zwembad, en alles is goed schoon. Ontbijt ook prima. Ook hebben ze een ruime parkeergelegenheid tegen betaling.

Het is erg duur voor wat je krijgt, je betaalt echt voor de locatie. Kamers en rest van het hotel zijn gedateerd, behalve het zwembad dat leek vrij nieuw. Het is er erg gehorig, maar goed is natuurlijk te verwachten van een oud pand en het zit aan de doorgaande weg.

A hotel with three stars that is deserving of 5 . Bellavista is in Menaggio's downtown and right on the front a view of the mountains and Lake Como. It has an small pool with lake view . The restaurant had delectable, fresh food and was amazing. A delight to the palade. The service was really helpful and kind. A relaxing hotel worth visiting where you can enjoy the pool, good food and great view.

Schitterend hotel met een fantastische ligging aan rand van meer maar ook dichtbij haven en gezellige centrum. Hier kom je niets tekort. Parkeergarage aan de overkant van de straat. Kamers zijn keurig en eten ook erg goed. Kortom geweldig hotel!

Il faudrait améliorer le petit déjeuner avec du pain de qualité ,et des jus d oranges frais . Changer les salons un peu défraîchis et ce serait vraiment incomparable .

Am dorit o camera cu vedere la lac, conform fotografiei de pe Booking. Am primit o camera la etajul 1 cu vedere în prim plan pe acoperișul terasei, iar în spate, lacul (asa sunt toate camerele 101-106, de la etajul 1, lucru care nu se precizează pe Booking). Doamnele de la recepție au încercat să ne caute o altă cameră, dar toate erau ocupate și eu am fost puțin supărată din acest motiv. Podelele scârție îngrozitor, am avut probleme noaptea, când cineva s-a mișcat prin cameră, nimeni nu a mai dormit. Se aud și podelele de la etajul superior.

Unfreundlicher Empfang, Service im Restaurant oberflächlich, ausgenommen die Bar- Dame. Extrem laute Klimaanlage, sodass man nicht schlafen konnte, ohne Klimagerät bei offenem Fenster bis morgens um 03.00 Uhr Strassenlärm! An Schlaf nicht zu denken.
