Hotel Du Lac Menaggio

Brilliant location right in the square so can be busy and entertainment on in the summer but it all stops at 12am. Great for people watching. Parking is a wee walk away but worth booking as it’s safe and gives peace of mind. Great location for restaurants and ferry. Lovely market outside when we were there.

Pool area was very small but understandably as it’s a rooftop one. Beautiful views though.

De locatie is top! Mooi aan het water, leuk plein.

2 volwassenen 1 kind. En maar 1 bed. Muziek uit het restaurant/bar is letterlijk te horen op de eerste verdieping. Zonnescherm en rolluiken uit en in maakt ongelofelijk veel herrie en zorgt ervoor dat je wakker schrikt of nog erger als je kind eindelijk slaapt is die weer wakker. Personeel lijkt ongetraind, wij zaten 15 min voordat we werden opgemerkt ook nadat wij zelf de kaart hebben gevraagd. Dit gebeurde ook bij het ontbijt a la carte. En het er voor gezorgd dat er elders in het dorp zijn gaan ontbijten en ook avond eten hebben we daardoor niet hier gedaan. Dit alles heeft ervoor gezorgd dat wij eerder zijn vertrokken en ook daarbij werd niet gereageerd of gevraagd waarom dit was.

Property is outdated on the decor, noisy and you smelled what the kitchen was cooking. Had reserved two cribs, only had one. Got the second one a they told us there was a 14 euro per day charge. We finally didn’t pay.

Shutters noisy on level 1 room at 11.30pm and 7am.

The room was stunning, the views were amazing. Great location for the ferry and bars/restaurants. We ate in the cafe below it was great. Roof top pool and sauna was the best part of our day after walking lots of steps between bellagio, varenna and finally arriving in menaggio it was a great way to end the day. The gentleman on reception was very kind and helpful. Can’t wait to return

En super beliggenhed og en lille fin pool på toppen af taget med fantastisk udsigt. Rent stort værelse med balkon mod sø og torv.

Vi oplevede en manager der virkede ligeglad og uinteresseret i os. Personalet virkede lidt forvirrede og glemte ordrer ved morgenmaden. Deres system virkede lidt underligt. En tjener tog i mod ordrer, og andre serverede. Normalt kan dette fungere, men her virkede det som om om kommunikationen svigtede og de derfor glemte eller kom med forkerte ordrer. Mange af personalerne smilede ikke og nogle manglede helt mimik i ansigtet. Vi tolkede dette som et dårligt arbejdsmiljø, men det er selvfølgelig et gæt. Vi følte en smule medfølelse for de unge mennesker, der måske ikke trives. Vi kunne ønske os noget mere opmærksomhed og flere smil og humor.

The location of this hotel is hard to beat. It is right in the heart of Menaggio, within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafés, and the lakefront. From our room, we had an amazing view of Lake Como, with the surrounding restaurants and cafés adding to the atmosphere. The hotel’s best feature is the rooftop swimming pool. It feels like a large jacuzzi/pool and offers fantastic panoramic views of Lake Como. It was a wonderful place to relax after a day of exploring. The hotel also has a sauna, which is a nice bonus. Private parking is available exclusively for hotel guests. It is located just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Parking is not free, but having a reserved space in the center of Menaggio is very convenient.

The room needs to be updated. But I understand that the price will be affected by such changes. The cleanliness of the room needs to be checked. The bathroom had a dry urine smell and I had to clean it myself and kept window open to reduce smell.

It feels like a Bar / Cafe with rooms & not a hotel. Every night World Cup Soccer on TV’s in the bar & courtyard with excessive noise until 11pm & beyond midnight after staff clean up… which was then repeated in the morning from 7am with staff setting up for breakfast, with music played from 7.30am ! Unfortunately our room was directly above the bar & adjacent to the courtyard, so we got very little rest or sleep during our stay!

avoir la pire chambre de l'hôtel : la seule qui n'avait pas de vue sur le lac alors que l'hôtel est à 20m du lac. et surtout surtout la chambre, bien qu'au premier étage, qui est collé au à des WC. et le bar de l'hôtel fait monter les clients du bar dans ces WC. Horrible quand vous souhaitez que votre bébé de 8 mois puisse dormir et que c'est un soir de match de foot où la moitié de la ville vient au WC à coté de votre chambre.

Het Hotel ligt vlak aan het meer wat heel druk bezocht wordt. 's Avonds laat is het luidruchtig in het hotel. Er is weinig respect voor de andere gasten. Het ontbijt is afzonderlijk te nuttigen beneden in het restaurant. Je kan kiezen à la carte maar er is weinig keuze. Wij hebben hierdoor geen ontbijt genuttigd. Personeel is super vriendelijk en staan altijd voor je klaar bij de minste vragen. De kamer is zeker voldoende ruim en het uitzicht is net een postkaartje. Prachtige view.

De luidruchtigheid van de andere gasten en het slaan met de deuren na 23u. Weinig keuze aan ontbijt op de kaart.

Vi fick veta att hotellet hade en pool på taket när vi skulle checka ut, skulle uppskattat att fått den informationen tidigare.

The view

Paying extra for a lake view meant we were directly over the outside seating for the cafe and it was very noisy in the evening. The decor was dated and lighting poor.

I've never stayed in a hotel and been treated so rudely before. After battling with the rudeness of the ticket sellers just trying to get over on the boat, I wasn't expecting to be treated so rudely by the hotel manager and staff when we arrived and later when we sat down to have a drink.

Everything! The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was perfectly located at the town square, with beautiful views of the water and just a few minutes walk from the ferry dock. The rooftop with pool and sauna was the cherry on top! Great stay!

The roof top pool small but amazing! Location loved Menaggio much more relaxing than Bellagio.

The only really good thing I could say is its location and the exceptional service from Joseph.

Instead of a hotel, I would call it a bar/restaurant with rooms. There is no lobby and the reception is a 3’ x 3’ area. The parking, at 20. EUs a day, is a distance away and you need to schlep your luggage through the alleys to get to the “hotel”. There was no shampoo in the shower. The bedding was just a light comforter with a duvet. no flat sheet, that was too short for the bed. The only trash can was in the bathroom.

La ubicación es inmejorable en la placita que se abre al paseo del lago donde están los restaurantes, cafeterías y tiendas principales. Muy agradable y animada. La habitación muy amplia con vistas a la placita y parciales al lago. No contratamos el desayuno, pero en general el servicio es amable y el hotel tranquilo. Tiene servicio de parking que se contrata a parte si es necesario, que en temporada alta lo veo fundamental.

No tiene grandes lujos, pero no los esperaba, la verdad. No eché de menos nada. Tampoco llevaba unas expectativas muy altas en general y todo me pareció estupendo. Tras 20 años sin volver al lago, tenía claro que la cuidad adecuada para conocer la zona era Menaggio, (si quieres moverte con coche alquilado desde Milán y conocer Lago de Lugano y Lago Maggiore en tus 4 o 5 días por la zona) la ubicación era la plaza Giuseppe Garibaldi y el hotel al borde del lago era lo que quería. Estás en lo mejor del lago poro sin tanta presión turística como Varenna o Bellagio. y Lenno y Tremezzo (Tremezzina) son maravillosos pero peores para moverse en ese plan.

I can’t say this is a perfect hotel. It’s very convenient for food, as there are restaurants downstairs, including a bistro pub. However, it can be a bit noisy at night.

Zwembad op het dakterras is super, alleen de ligplekken zijn daar beperkt. Er hadden wat ligbedden bij gekund.

Beautiful hotel! Our view was stunning and the room was more luxurious than we anticipated. It's in the heart of Menaggio but it's still very quiet and doesn't feel too touristy. The third floor has an infinity pool with an incredible view of the sunrise. Breakfast was great, the staff was very nice and the room was clean.

Virkelig fin beliggenhed, fronten lige ved søen, hyggelig cafe både ude og inde. Værelset var udstyret med en fin lille balkon, hvor man godt kan sidde 2 personer, og nyde et glas vin mens man nyder udsigten over søen. Parkering i privat garage 200m fra hotellet, var perfekt, og der var adgang til at oplade el-bil. Prisen herfor var fair. Personalet i receptionen var venlige og servicemindede. Nemt at sejle til Bellagio hvor der er meget at se på, samt muligt at få god mad, hvilket er vanskeligt i Menaggio.

Værelset var ret spartansk indrettet, inventaret virkede til at være af ældre dato. Komforten i den store dobbeltseng var rimelig. Maden i den hyggelige cafe var ringe og prisen relativ høj, kan ikke anbefales. Personalet i cafe'en virkede ikke venlige. Prisen for overnatning er for høj i forhold til kvaliltet, største aktiv er beliggenheden lige ved søen. Det er helt generelt ikke nemt at finde gode spisesteder i byen, der mest serverer ligegyldig turistmad.

Het hotel sloot avonds zeer vroeg dus er was geen mogelijk heden nog iets te bestellen.

La ubicacion es inmejorable, en el centro mismo del pueblo y al borde del lago.

El restaurant es abierto a la calle y estaba lleno de turistas que no eran pasajeros del hotel cuando fui al desayuno. Ademas era todo bastante caro. Debería haber un espacio de desayuno mas privado y seguro para los huéspedes.

The location of the hotel was centrally located and right on Lake Como. My balcony had a great view! The room was clean and very spacious.

This is hands down the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The bottom floor was a restaurant that started prepping at 7 am. The door leading from the restaurant to the main area slammed closed every time it was used and shook the entire hotel. This happened, starting at 7 am, every few minutes making sleep impossible.

Great location and we really liked Menaggio. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Liked the owners / management team. Staff in the cafe was moody and inconsistent. Hotel is good value. Menaggio is a little calmer and more real compared to trendier Bellagio and Varenna.

We stayed here for 2 nights in early October 2025. It’s not the fanciest hotel but it has a great location. The bed was hard. Pillows were good. Great shower with hot water! Loved that our balcony opened up with a view of the lake. Lovely shops and dining all around. If you want more of a budget friendly stay in a good location close to the ferry then this will work well for you!

De hygiëne en dagelijkse schoonmaak van de kamer. Personeel was ook aardig. en de locatie in Menaggio is perfect.

Parkeergarage van het hotel kost 22€ per nacht, dit is een verdien model aangezien parkeerplekken schaars zijn in de buurt, vooral in het hoogseizoen. Horeca gedeelte valt ook erg tegen, kwaliteit van het eten is matig maar niet slecht. Personeel daarin tegen wel gewoon vriendelijk en goed.

We were hoping for a breakfast buffet but everything was a la card. That’s ok.

Parking was off site and yet they charged per day. That was not known at the time I booked the place.

Just wow! So many things we loved about this charming hotel… the fantastic location across the road from the lake , a first floor balcony that overlooked the town square and a view of lake, clean room and comfy bed. Easy walk to ferry terminal and all the dining options. One of the highlights of this hotel was the infinity roof top pool - we spent every afternoon taking in the view from this wonderful spot. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return next time in Italy. Thank you 🙏

The location was excellent and we loved our room with a view of the lake. We also enjoyed the bar downstairs to enjoy a cocktail or coffee in the morning. Was perfect.

Det lå centralt og med en fantastisk udsigt fra poolen på tagterrassen.

Der lå en lille bar ved siden af hotellet, som nogen aftener spillede meget høj musik til langt ud på natten. Og værelset vi først boede på, lå ved siden af toilettet, som gæsterne i restauranten brugte, og det var meget støjende og ret generende.

Room 205 was excellent. Prime position with spectacular views.
