Friendly staff comfortable beds

It’s a lovely spot, but I found the breakfast is not as good. Plastic cutlery, ran out of milk for tea and cereal. Breakfast was very plain. I remember when the scrambled eggs would have a little red or yellow pepper, and always hot and fresh batch kept being added. Not much variety in the yogurt and no muffins or pastries. It was fine, but wasn’t like previous years, or other locations I’ve been to.

It was fine. But perhaps visitors could be directed to a nice sitting area outside? A smoking area as well (I don’t smoke). The smokers are sitting at the front door as you come in. I didn’t see how to get to the back where the green space looked lovely from my room.

The room smelled like wet dog. The shower was dirty, the carpet was musty and the sheets were dirty. The value of the room did not match the price I paid for.

If you want to actually sleep do not stay here. Unless you find sleeping on concrete, or an MRI machine relaxing. The absolute most horrible mattresses I've ever experienced -- I had better beds in Cuba.

Staff was so nice and accommodating Very pleasant, room was clean, great tv channel selection, water pressure and temperature was awesome, bed and pillows were comfortable.

There was green mildew around the pool edge, you could tell it was maintained as well as the hot tub but the water was cloudly. Not that crystal clear some people are used to.

Although it is not just this hotel, be aware that taxes are essentially more than half the cost of the room! Ridiculous

Location and parking were convenient. Room was comfortable and clean. Quiet. Spacious and well equipped. Room had everything we needed. Appreciated that bar soap was provided in the room (rarely see that in hotels any more). Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location was convenient for driving, but maybe not so much for walking. The facilities appeared a bit dated (minor quibble given that we had everything we needed and everything worked).

Some aspects are okay (carpets, furniture, mini fridge, microwave) others are Very dated (shower tiles, pool). Pool has a dark scum ring and the hot tub was closed. Bathroom needs a fan AND tiles need to be regrouted (black mold.) Clean "enough" but definitely the lowest we have ever experienced at this price point. The back area is nice for our dog with a cute gazebo. Walking distance to a handful of chain restaurants. It is okay if you are not picky, but we expect a little better at this price point.

Flexible check in times

The rooms were so damp it felt wet. Uncomfortable sleep because the sheets felt wet.

Needs to be updated, tried to unplug and plug back the AC as it was not working properly and the whole plug in just kinda fell out of the wall. Dangerous if a child would stick their fingers there.

I travel extensively This was the last room in the hotel, price was high >$400 and we arrived at 8pm It's a no-smoking hotel but the room had been smoked in. We were offered a different room (that had a different smell, not smoke) It was only after we were settled that we realized that the AC was not working. It was 30 degrees outside and stupidly hot in the room, we had a very poor sleep. In the morning my wife wanted a bath - the tub plug wouldn't hold the water. Insult to injury.

Hot tub wasn’t working (again) Power went out due to rain storm (not their fault) but their generator was really basic so made for an uncomfortable stay Coffee ran out at breakfast which is a big no no in my books!

The hotel was dated, not very clean. The pool area was not clean. The beds were not comfortable. Generally this is not the quality I expected from a best western. When I asked to cancel the second night they were not helpful at all.

This is a very friendly hotel and great assortment for breakfast. We choose this location as a priority for its location and large parking availability. Great restaurants at all price ranges in area

The bathtub was disgusting. Rusted out spots. Would not take a bath in there. Yuck! Toilet paper and Kleenex were like sandpaper. Hallway along first floor corridor to rooms was very closed in with low ceiling.

Night staff at front desk extremely nice given she was alone with no additional help. Room was clean, nice size.

The beds. They were very hard and I cannot sleep on a hard mattress. Toilets very low.

28 year family tradirion where 17 rooms were rented over Easter Weekend. Multiple rooms had an ant infestation and items found from previous people in multiple rooms. When this was brought to the attention of the General Manager he was rude and dismissive to his staff for bringing it to his attention and then argumentative with me and unwilling to compensate for the issues.

This hotel is an older hotel at the south end of Orillia directly across from the OPP Headquarters. It was the last night of 9 on the road and we were heading home. We arrived shortly after 2 ( thankfully) First note was the musty odour in the front lobby. Check in was flawless . Our room not quite. The heat had been shut off for a period of time and it was very cold. We turned the heat on and left to eat. Returned and hour later and contacted the front desk. An offer of heaters and blankets was made. This wont help and ice cold bathroom and mattress and box spring. Several further communications with no offer to move us. We stayed out as late as possible and went to bed. My partner communicated our displeasure with the front desk and we left. The manager replied to our hotel review and apparently it was our fault for not taking the blankets. Apparently the heat had been turned off by the previous visitors. Never again will we book this hotel. Not Best Western standards. At no time during our visit were we contacted by management.

I unfortunately innocently made a mistake with my booking dates. Arrive with me children after driving hours and management (specifically Noman Khar) not helpful or considerate whatsoever. Demeaning especially in the way speaking over women, not letting me or my mother in law talk, just shutting us down and not offering assistance in any way. The staff was also lying directly to our face which was most definitely not appreciated. Unfortunately we needed to either leave or pay an additional fee, and not able to use my points unless I left and called the 1-800 number. I'm not sure if anyone has ever had to go into a fully packed car with children crying and now very upset as they're tires and hungry to deal with a 1-800 number but this should have been 100% unnecessary when I was speaking directly to management.. could they not have helped me with that ? I needed to go and book a different hotel and now out the price of the room for here. I have a few thousand points now that will unfortunately go to waste and I will no longer be booking with Best Western..

The staff were friendly. The hotel and rooms were very clean.

I did not appreciate paying $300 for one room for one night. There was a sports tournament going on and felt the room rates should NOT have been so grossly inflated to reflect this. It was ALL hotels in town that did this and I find this to be extremely unfortunate for me as a traveller and not a participant of this tournament.

The hotel its self is very outdated. Rooms were very old and were not like the pictures shown online. The pool area is old and not taken care of. Very dirty in the washrooms and looked like they have never been cleaned. As for our room, we found a sock in the bed that did not belong to us, sadly we found it the next morning after sleeping with it. Also in the mini fridge there was garbage located in the freezer. This just goes to show that they are. Or doing a very thorough clean of the room. Overall was very pricy for we got.

Honestly breakfast used to be way better it was a buffet now it's literally one lady running a restaurant with no tips and rude travelers

We stayed at the Best Western Mariposa with our family during our son’s hockey tournament, and this was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We are a team with younger children, and parents made a point of supervising kids closely, following early curfews, and being respectful to staff. Despite this, we were treated with suspicion and hostility from the moment staff realized we were a hockey team. On our first night, the hotel offered an empty room for kids to play mini sticks. The following day, when kids asked again, we were offered a different room that was dirty and had broken glass on the floor. Staff were notified, and not one parent made a fuss about it. That evening, while supervised kids were using the pool, another family (not part of our group) opened an unlocked side door and ran into the snow before jumping back into the pool. Some of our kids followed. There were no warning signs and the door was not locked. The pool was immediately closed by staff without testing water levels, and parents were falsely accused of children urinating in the hot tub. By 8:30 p.m., all children were in their rooms with parents. The following morning, our team manager received a rude email accusing our children of running the halls late at night and harassing guests—none of which occurred. The situation escalated further the next evening when staff aggressively confronted parents at the pool and accused a guest of having alcohol without cause. When another parent calmly attempted to speak to the desk manager to de-escalate, the staff member pushed past her and retreated to her office, where police were called. The OPP attended and confirmed there was no disorderly behaviour. Everyone was allowed to remain for the night. Beyond staff behaviour, the hotel itself was dirty and poorly maintained. Our room had a dead bug and personal items left behind, public areas were not well kept, and breakfast service was slow and inattentive. We would not recommend this hotel to families, sports teams, or anyone expecting professional service or basic cleanliness.

Hotel is very good. The staff were so friendly and helpful -- really made the stay more enjoyable. Hotel in need of some repairs (some leaky taps, rust in tub, pool area in need of some TLC) but Hotel was clean and very reasonable! I would stay again. Breakfast was included which is a perk, especially with children and there is a Chucks Roadhouse restaurant attached to the hotel which is convenient.

The toilet in our room wouldn't fill with water automatically, which then wouldn't flush. We had to keep filling the tank to flush. Staff were helpful getting it working once.

I was assigned a pet friendly room which had a foul odour to it.

The staff were absolutely great, polite, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but smelled like carpet cleaner/wet dog. Beds were really uncomfortable, not sure if its because they need to be replaced. Sound barriers could've been better..kept hearing the outside door squeak open/closed all night.

We very much appreciated the hot breakfast in the morning time. The facility was very clean, but there are two additional fees that were charged on including a Orillia fee as well as a promotional fee plus taxes on top of it, adding an additional 21% on top of the room rate which should be better advertised.

Room was pass due a redo,bedding was stained, bathroom mirrors were not cleaned properly finger prints on both of them, dead spider on floor in bathroom corner , Shower grouting very old and turning colour .Stay there is about $50.00 over priced

The breakfast was amazing. Lots of selection. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved the pool, hot tub and sauna. That was a nice surprise. Rooms were very clean, spacious and stocked. Very close to attractions and shopping amd dining . Shout out to connor at the deont desk and emily . Would highly recommend this hotel

Customer service was great, pool, hot tub and sauna were lovely and clean. And to top it off the breakfast was so tasty.

Good location Premises and rooms need to be updated

My room smelled like wet dog for the whole stay (5 nights), even with the window left open. There were used towels and a bikini left over in the bathroom from the previous guest. The underside of the toilet seat had urine stains. The sink had what looked like dog hair in it. The air conditioner was loud. The breakfast was poor. The front desk staff were great, as was the bed. Very comfortable.

What I liked about this hotel, well it was easy to get to and all the restaurants were close by, the highway was right there when we needed it.

Very itchy from the bed sheets. Other than a lack of sleep stay was good.

Everything was good but the key cards , we had to go 3 times during our stay to get them activated.

Service was good and nice breakfast BUT very outdated!! Was disappointed! Mucky smell, very old building. Peeling ceiling in bathroom, patches, tub rusted around drain, dirty mirror and sink spout. Deceiving online pictures!!

The front desk check in was great but I was surprised to find that the room had two different beds: one was comfortable and the other was uncomfortable. Also, the bathroom was not cleaned well.

This is a very nice place to stay. Staff was friendly and accommodating from the start. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Breakfast with hot food is always a plus. Great location. Will be coming back

After entering our room with the manager and cleaners in the hallway who offered to assist with luggage, after about 15 minutes a worker entered our room having just seen us enter a few minutes previously and then the manager was trying to open our door after seeing us enter and also right outside our door when the worker entered. There was a pile of dirty sheets on the floor when we entered our room also that we had to get removed. Breakfast was less than continental with very few choices. Depite raising these issues upon check out, no offer of any kind of discount was made either.
